“Wait,” she said. “Which guy are we talking about? I’m confused. Italy or Barcelona? Which one do you love?”
He smiled and said, “Bye, Fiona.” He pressed a button on his cell phone, ending the call.
Quintin stood up. With his computer bag draped across his body and his suitcase in tow, he looked at both trains and contemplated.
He slipped his headphones on, pressed the play button, and welcomed the opening chords of Deluka’s “Come Back to Me” in his ears.
Finally, Quintin took a step.
With certainty, he knew it was the right one.
He knew for sure: love was waiting for him at his next destination.
About the Author
Dylan Madrid is the author of the novels Mind Fields, Love in the Shadows, and Backstrokes. A California native, Dylan grew up in the Bay Area. He opted to backpack through seven countries before heading to college and spent a year living in Europe, primarily on the Greek island of Ios.
