Asweemergedfromtheundergroundlevelandintothelight,Ilookedupatthe ceilingandsawthatmuchofitwassunlight,comingthroughalargepieceof glassintheceilingontopofwhichwasafountainofdirtywater.Hiddenjetson thesideswereconstantlyinjectingadenser,brownsubstancethatswirledaround inthemix.IcouldseewhypeoplethoughtthattheVortexcontainedsewer water.Ialsonotedthat,insteadofmerelybeinga“roundedtriangle,”asthe janitoron4chanhaddescribedit,theshapemorecloselyresembledthe Supermanlogowithroundedcorners.Itooknoteofthecoincidence.
Ialsonoticedthat,oncewegottothesecondfloor,sothatwewereabovethe Vortex,thecarpetontherampwaslinedonbothsideswithatransparenttube runningconstantlywithayellow‐orangefluid.
ThesearethetubescarryingurinetotheVortex,Ithought.
Cordonsandpostedsignsencouragedustokeepmovinguptheramp,while discouragingusfromvisitingthelobbyoranyoftheotherinterveningfloors, promisingthattheconferenceroomwas“ahead.”Sowekeptgoing,untilwe werealmostatthetopofthebuilding,onwhatmusthavebeentheninthfloor,as therewereonlytenandjustoneupaboveus.
