Texas Cookbooks
This is far from a complete compilation of Texas cookbooks. We looked at many more in libraries around the state, and almost certainly missed scores of others that never made it to those shelves. This is simply the short list of books that had an impact on ours. If you want to have a look for yourself, the best single collection is at the Barker Texas History Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
We're grateful to each of these authors for their contributions to our thinking, cooking, and eating pleasure. All of them are wonderful dinner companions.
