  “He did say he was making things. We do need it.”

  “He’s so happy for you. He keeps building things for this little guy. Sooner or later, we’ll run out of space.”

  I recalled a conversation I had with the King a long time ago and said, “No need to worry. I’m working on a podhouse plan right now. When I’m done, you can have a look and see if you approve of the layout.”

  “I’m sure it’ll be fine,” she said. “As long as I can take hot baths…just make sure you make room for a bigger tub to fit your whole body and mine. I want to take long steamy hot baths with you. I’ll be your personal masseuse if you comply.”

  “Hmmm, sounds like a plan.”

  “Well, the little soldier is sleeping. Your voice works every time.”

  Freya removed a sleeping Vul'rik from her breast and then put him down in his crib. When she came back, she cuddled up against me. “Now it’s time to please you.”

  I grinned. “I thought you forgot about me.”

  “Never.”

  Our kissing and make-out session turned into much more. For the past few months, we’d been taking it easier since she’d given birth to my son. But neither of us could keeps our hands off one another.

  “I love you, mate,” she whispered.

  “I love you, Freya.”

  I turned her over on her side and entered her from behind. Our lovemaking was slow and steady, but our passion remained out of this world.

  A glimpse of the future…

  Five-month-old Neitra was bundled tightly, strapped to my chest, as I laid the cut flowers on the table outside to dry. Just as I was about to reach over to grab some more from the basket, an object whizzed by me and crashed into the basket, knocking it off the table.

  I placed my hand to my chest and gasped.

  I turned around to identify the culprit.

  My six year old son, Vul'rik, was standing there with a slingshot he made himself with a guilty look on his face.

  “Vul'rik!” I exclaimed.

  “Mamma, I’m sorry. It was an accident.” He dropped the slingshot and ran to retrieve all of my flowers off the ground. He hurried to scoop up the cuttings and placed them back in the basket. “I’m so sorry, mamma.”

  His little green eyes pleaded with me for mercy and I couldn’t stay mad at him. “Vul’rik, you have to remember what we tell you. I know it’s just an empty cloth ball but you can’t just aim that thing at people.”

  “But I wasn’t aiming it at people. It just went that way. I just need more practice, that’s all.”

  His silver auras gleamed brightly under his youthful gray skin. As many had predicted, Vul'rik’s ǔre matched his father’s, but no one could know for certain what the little solider’s future held. Whatever it was, it was up to him. Hvit’zark and I both agreed on that long ago.

  “What have you done now, Keddet?” Zark came up to the table and kissed me before tousling his son’s mane of thick hair. He loved calling Vul'rik by his middle name. Keddet in Zunatorian meant soldier.

  “Fatu, I think I need more practice with this. My aim is so bad, I knocked all mamma’s flowers off the table.”

  Zark hid a chuckle, but managed to keep a straight face. “Let’s see that thing,” he said, taking the slingshot. “It might not be you at all. Maybe it’s the slingshot. Something must not be right. Have you ever thought about taking it apart and putting it back together again?”

  Vul'rik’s eyes widened and he smiled like that was the greatest idea he’d ever heard. “No. I didn’t think of that. I’ll just need some tools. Do you think Grand Uncle Thar’kein would lend me some of his tools?”

  “I’m sure he’ll be happy to. We’ll go today after dinner and hunt through his old tool shed. How does that sound?”

  “Mak, fatu, mak!” He took off running and disappeared behind a fort he built by the house.

  Zark reached over and touched my cheek. I turned my face inward, pressed my lips to his palm, and kissed him there. It amazed me how I still loved the way he smelled. Even now, I blushed as he studied me with such adoration in his eyes.

  “How’s my pretty green-eyed queen and princess?” he asked.

  “Just fine. We just ate.”

  “Guess what?”

  “I like surprises, but I’m not so good at guesses.”

  He smiled. “I went to the orphanage again today to do the test thing, you know?”

  “And?” I asked excitedly.

  “You’re already a match to several of the kids there, but they’ve finally found a match suitable for the both of us. Actually, two matches.”

  “Oh. They did?”

  Even before Neitra was born, we’d both started the process to bring a child home from the orphanage and raise them in our newly built home which was currently too big for the four of us.

  “Twins. A boy and a girl. They don’t want to be separated,” he said.

  “I think I know who they are. Is this true? Will they let us bring them home to live with us?”

  He grinned. “I think so. It’s just a matter of going to pick them up, I think.”

  He looked nervous. He should’ve been, but so was I. But I was confidence that we both had so much love to give these kids who would become the newest members of our family.

  “You don’t know how happy this makes me. I’ve always wanted to do this!”

  “I know, my love.” He picked up a strand of my hair. “I know you have a soft spot for orphans. Trust me, I understand. Like you, I was an orphan too.”

  I smiled and leaned in to kiss him. “I love you so much.”

  “I love seeing you happy.”

  I hope you enjoyed the story, Given to the Alien Rogue, as well as the epilogues which included a tiny glimpse of the future. I wasn’t going to add this last glimpse, but I truly think it gave this couple a fitting end to their HEA. Plus we got to see that Freya really has nothing to fear, especially with Zark by her side ;

  I am the property of alien hordesmen.

  Well…just one in particular.

  * * *

  The Tirizar Horde came to our land, invaded our homes, and took many women as prisoners. We were captured to pay the price—in flesh—for our ex-ruler’s treachery.

  * * *

  I don’t want to be some Tirizar warrior’s pleasure slave, so I fight. I know my actions could harm me. My disobedience gains the attention of the most ruthless alien in the horde: their leader, their king. He takes me and declares to make me submissive. To make me his. He’s possessive, dominant, and treats me like he owns me.

  She is captured to be punished.

  He is bound by his duty.

  Their missions may not align

  but their chemistry is out of this world.

  * * *

  Ever since the territories were divided, Ryleigh has been a rebel: an activist against the current regime.

  After her group is captured, they’re put on trial for their crimes.

  Ryleigh is labeled as salvageable and carted off to a lab with a group of other women. But the research facility is not where she ends up.

  Instead, she’s abducted from Earth by huge alien warriors and marked as a breeder. This has to be some kind of mistake.

  * * *

  Anik is the crown prince of Zunator. He has conquered more than he has lost. But some fights cannot be won on the battlefield.

  A stubborn ailment has rendered more than half of the Zunatorian females unable to conceive. Now his people are in a race against time to save themselves.

  All male Zunatorians must breed. His title doesn’t excuse him. He will take a woman.

  * * *

  When Ryleigh is taken by the seven feet tall telepathic alien man, he comes off as a rude, arrogant, obnoxious prick. He doesn’t deserve to be so handsome, let alone the heir apparent of his colony. In her attempts to defy Anik, her body betrays her, responding in carnal ways that defies logic. Lying about what she wants is futile. He is hard to resist. Taking him for her pleasure becomes second nature.

  CHAPTER ONE

  Ryleigh

  * * *

  “Salvageable. Take her to the labs!” The man with the gray mustache pointed at me and then scribbled something on his pad. He continued on down the line, evaluating and pointing. Picking and choosing like we were products on a shelf.

  There were thirteen of us. More women than men. All lined up like cattle. Our crimes varied.

  Rebellion against our current regime.

  A threat to the evil leaders we opposed.

  Or just a nuisance to the fucked-up society in which we lived.

  I was accused of all three. My punishment was handed down to me swiftly.

  Now the scientists would use my body in any way they pleased, in the name of medical research for all the diseases and ailments that plagued what remained of the human population following the disaster.

  I’d probably never see the light of day again. Men and women who went in the labs, never came out. Spies had reported bodies taken away from the facilities and disposed of in wastelands or cremated in the fiery pits in the land of Ever Burning.

  At least I would die knowing that I fought tirelessly for my people in the hopes that we would one day break free from the tyrannical reign of a heartless, greedy dictator. We were close to a victory. The nation’s ruler knew it, which was why so many of us were put to death upon being captured.

  Thirteen sentences were issued. Five of us were labeled as salvageable while eight others were yanked away in chains. By the cries and pleas coming from their mouths, I knew they’d been marked to be executed. Maybe they were lucky. Five of us would be subject to endless torture while the others would be given a swift death.

  Yet, I estimated that half of them would make a final plea for their lives, trading information about my former rebels and our future plans. By that time, my people would be gone from their camps. After every capture, our group would always move out and make camp elsewhere, because there was always a chance that one of the captured would rat us out.

  It was over for me now. I’d done my duty and now it was time for me to face my punishment, whatever that might be.

  All five of us were shoved back into the van. Interestingly enough, we were all women. One of the girls scrambled to the back of the van and began crying hysterically when the door was slammed shut. She wasn’t part of my group, so I figured she was just another outcast who’d fled from her home and gotten caught somehow. There were more groups like that, almost like ours. Many of our nation’s citizens escaped the walls of their assigned settlements to live off the grid. Free from unjust and sometime inhuman laws.

  “Ryleigh, what will they do to us?” Andara whispered, huddling close to me. She was a rebel just like me.

  “I don’t know,” I said back. “Be strong, Andara. Help will come soon.”

  “This is one step back. We shouldn’t have gone so far out. Rathian will never come for us. We’re just casualties in his war against Canon.”

  I sighed. She was right. The leader of our rebel group would not come with the sole purpose of getting us back. The only way he would come was if they were ready to play out the attack and assassination on Dictator Canon. With our group’s location compromised, I doubted that would be any time soon.

  “They will not kill us. Not so soon. They would’ve done so already. You must fight for your freedom now, Andara. You’re smart. Use your head. Fight or die trying.”

  She grabbed my hand and squeezed.

  We had one more chance to break free. Something I’d learned long ago as a girl when my mother forced me to flee our settlement to join the rebel group was that nothing was impenetrable. Nothing.

  CHAPTER TWO

  Ryleigh

  * * *

  We must’ve been riding for hours. Or maybe it just felt like that. I felt lethargic, sickened by the exhaust fumes seeping in through the cracks. I wouldn’t have been surprised if they had already poisoned us with something to make us weak. No matter how much I fought it, I kept drifting in and out of sleep.

  Andara had her head leaned on my shoulder, snoring away like a baby. Hell, she was only two years younger than me. Eighteen. She was just a kid. But in today’s society, the legal age of consent was now fifteen. Young boys were forced to register with the nation’s capital forces. Young girls were stripped from their homes and dispersed to other settlements where they were forced to fend for themselves. The poor ones, like me, were given no choice.

  The van jerked forward suddenly, causing all of us to plummet straight to the back of the van. My head hit something hard and I crashed down on my side, bending my arm in the most unnatural position possible. I tasted blood in my mouth and realized that I’d bitten my tongue.

  The girls in the van were frantic. It was darker now than before. Day had turned into night. I could feel it in the air.

  “Oh my God!” Andara screamed and pointed.

  One of the girls lay dead in the middle of the van. Her eyes were still open, looking upward. I looked around to find my bearings, realizing that the van was turned over on its side with us still inside.

  Something was going on outside. Frantic voices. Scuffling on the ground. The sound of gunshots.

  Something clouded my vision and I rubbed my eyes. When I opened them again, smoke and chemical fumes were everywhere. All of us began coughing. One of the girls banged on the door, demanding to be let out.

  Suddenly the back door was yanked off its hinges. We all stared out into the silent night, scared out of our minds.

  At first, no one came to the door. The mist that had clouded up the interior flooded outside and spilled into the night air. My lungs filled with fresher air, confirming that we
were probably being slowly poisoned. I could still feel the effects of the chemical taking hold of me.

  Something big and fast whipped in front of the van.

  There were more shots. Gunshots. Something cried out like an animal in distress.

  I heard the familiar sound of someone gurgling on fluid, probably blood. And then the sickening crunch of bone.

  Something else skittered past.

  A series of white laser beams followed him—or it.

  Then a scream…

  “Holy shit!” one of the girl’s breathed and began taking cautious steps to the back of the van.

  One of the drivers wearing a white suit ran up to the van. His eyes were wide with fright. His face was stark white. He held a weapon in his hand. Not just any weapon. It looked strange—almost like some superior tech I’d always heard about when my rebel friends told stories about the nation’s army.

  It looked like the driver was trying to join us to seek safety with us, but he failed.

  A dark figure came up behind him, plunged his hand right through his chest, and extricated his heart. He fell on the floor, twitched, and then went deathly still.
