I held her tighter. “It’s okay, you don’t have to finish. He made you blow him?” She nodded her head. My anger was boiling. “Did he…” She shook her head no and I breathed a sigh of relief.
“Geno got me out of there real early this morning and drove non-stop here. I just wanted to be free to be with you without having to look over my shoulder or move away. That’s why I left to do it. I didn’t want to lose you.”
“You are not going to lose me. Do you hear me? I love you and I’m not going anywhere.”
We sat in the tub until the water turned cold just holding on to each other. She seemed to be able to move a little easier as we climbed out and dried off. We walked out to the bedroom and I handed her some clothes.
“Will you lay down with me?” She asked, setting the clothes aside.
“Of course, Angel.”
Lifting her up on the bed, I crawled in next to her pulling her into me as I pulled the covers over us. For a whole ten days, I never thought I was going to have this again. Having her in my arms, was a dream that I thought was never going to come true again. Now here I lay with the love of my life in my arms. Sighing contently, I start to fall asleep.
Waking a bit later, Colleen was still wrapped in my arms. I feared I was dreaming, but I wasn’t, she was really here. Lightly, I began to kiss her shoulder while running my hand down the length of her arm. Pulling her tighter against me, she moaned brought her arm up and wrapped it around my neck. Turning her head, she looked at me with love in her eyes. Our eyes lock as I slowly pushed myself into her. Colleen gasped and tightened her hand behind my neck.
“Ahh,” I breathed.
“Mmm,” She moaned.
Slow, deep thrusts, I ran kisses across her shoulder and up to her mouth before taking her mouth in a passionate tender kiss. She began to rock her hips with each of my thrusts and I trailed my hand to her breasts, tweaking each nipple before moving my hand down between her legs.
“Ah, yes,” she breathed.
I could feel her building and I was too. Putting more pressure on her clit, I began to rock into her faster. Her soft moans filled the room and spurred me on faster. She started to clench around me before arching her back and calling out my name. I followed right with her, pushing into her one last time before emptying myself in her.
Burying my face in her neck, I breathed her in. “I’ve missed you so much. I love you, don’t do that to me again. From now on we face things together,” I whispered.
“Never again. I love you too,” she said sleepily.
I could feel her fall back asleep. I laid there for a few moments longer before getting out of the bed and slipping on a pair of sweats. Making my way into the kitchen, I was shocked to find Geno sitting at the counter eating.
“Hello,” I said in passing, heading to the fridge.
“Hey,” He said cautiously. “I hope you don’t mind, I got a bowl of cereal.”
“No, I told you to help yourself. I’m just getting ready to start something for supper.”
There was silence for a little while. Neither of us talking, but silently urging the other to start the conversation that we both know was on our minds.
“You love her?” He asked.
“With all my heart.” I stated without hesitation.
“He’s going to come for her.” He said sadly.
“I kind of figured. What can I do?”
“We need to keep her protected at all costs. She can’t be alone. He is going to be pissed when he finds out. I’ll have a ‘kill on sight’ stamp on my head, but I don’t care. She needed out of there.”
“So you’re okay with me losing two dads then?” Colleen said from the doorway causing us both to turn.
I walked over toward her and wrapped her in my arms and held her. She wrapped her arms around me and let out a breath. I leaned down and whispered in her ear.
“Give him a chance Angel. He’s trying to help.”
She nodded into my chest and I released her to go start preparing a meal. As I started gathering things to prepare something, I watched them out of the corner of my eye.
“How are you doing?”
“Better.”
“I can tell. Did…”
The sound of the buzzer for the gate going off broke Geno off. I walked over to the intercom and let out a frustrated sigh.
“What is it?” Geno asked concerned.
“This trash that just won’t stay away.” I huffed.
“Oh my God!” Colleen said behind me and I heard the stool fall over.
Immediately I turned around to check on her and she had her hand to her mouth. “What is it? What’s wrong, Angel?”
“She’s the one that told Lenny where I was. He was going to kill you if I didn’t go to him. She is paying him to get rid of me.” She said through her hand before running to the trash can and throwing up.
Mental note, I need to get Jack over here to look at her.
“She has plans for you, but Colleen keeps getting in the way. So she is paying Lenny a pretty good sum of money to get rid of her. Lenny just wanted her alive, not dead like that girl there wanted. So I guess in a way we can be thankful for that. She wanted one of his guns for hire.”
After thinking for a minute, I told everyone to be quiet. I turned back to the intercom and answered.
“What?” I snapped.
“Come on baby. We will be so good together. She’s not coming back. Just let me in.”
“How did you know she was gone?”
“I watched her leave and I haven’t seen her come back yet.”
“Are you stalking me?”
“Oh, now, I’d hardly call it that. I’m watching over you. Baby we are meant to be together. I’m protecting what’s mine. Now you had fun with your little whore, but it’s time to come back to me.” She cooed and I just wanted to punch her.
“Come back to you? As if we were ever together. I’m in love with Colleen. No one else will ever measure up, especially not a chick that hurts her. Now get off my property before I call the police.” I hiss clicking off the intercom.
Making my way to the bedroom, I grab my phone. Holding it in my hands, I have no idea who I want to call, but I wanted to. I began pacing the floor back and forth; trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do. How can I protect her? I can’t be there every second. How can I know she’s safe when I’m not around? Colleen is stubborn at the best of times. She is not going to want me hanging over and telling her what she can and can’t do.
Fuck! What can I do?
Arms came around my waist and held me tightly. She ran her hands up my stomach and down again. Placing my hands over hers, I took a deep breath before turning around and holding her against me. Neither said anything for a while. I just enjoyed the fact that she was back in my arms again.
“If I had lost you…I thought I had…”
“No baby. I’m here. I promise, I won’t do anything like that again.” She held me tighter.
“I want to start training you. If you were ever caught on your own, I want to have the reassurance that you might be able to defend yourself.”
“Okay.”
“Please don’t start on the ‘I’m being paranoid thing’. You agreed to do it before… Wait, what?”
“I said okay,” she looks up at me and smiles. “Please teach me. I want this to be over. I’m so tired of looking over my shoulder. Help me feel safer when I’m not with you.”
“God, I thought I was going to have to fight you on this. Thank you. We’ll start today if you feel up to it.”
She nods her head and rests her head against my chest again. We stand there for a while. The last ten days washing away as we just hold each other. Lowering my head, I pressed my cheek to her head.
“I love you,” I whispered.
“I love you too,” she breathed into my chest.
A soft knock came from the door and I lifted my head to find Geno standing there. He had a sad expression on his face as he l
ooked at Colleen and I, but it cleared and his impassive look was back.
“Um, one of your brothers is at your gate.”
“Which one?”
“One of the twins, I can’t tell them apart.” He laughs.
Colleen releases me and we start walking to the kitchen. I see Jack sitting at the gate waiting impatiently as he hit the buzzer again and again.
“What?”
“Dude, where the fuck were you?”
“What’s it matter? What do you want?”
I hit a series of buttons on the box and I see Jack nod his head. “Okay, fine. I see you’re still pissy. I’ll leave.”
“Bye.”
With that, Jack pulled out and left. Colleen came running over.
“What the hell Carson? Why were you being an ass to him?”
“Relax. I typed in a code. He knows what’s up. He’ll be here in a minute. In the meantime, go get some more of my sweats and one of my shirts and I’ll meet you in the gym.”
She smiles at me as she walks away.
“I’m going to be teaching her kickboxing. You familiar with it?”
“That is where I’ve seen you from!” Geno exclaimed. “I know a little, but would love to train with you.”
“Great, you can help me show Colleen the techniques easier.”
“I think I should let you know that the Wendi chick has your phone tapped and your truck has a tracking device on it.”
“That’s how she knew. Damn. Well, I know now. I’ll have to inform my family. Get a new phone.”
“You need to keep using your phone, but don’t talk about things that will help them on there. Ya know what I’m sayin’, right?”
I nod my head, then excuse myself to get into my training shorts. Just as I finished getting changed my phone went off. It was Jackson letting me know that something came up and he’d come by some other time. It was fine by me since we are getting ready to train her anyway. As I headed into the gym, I halted in my steps when I saw what she was wearing. I groaned.
“How am I supposed to train you in that?” I asked, pointing to my shirt that she has tied up to stop below her breasts and a pair of my boxers.
“What? You don’t hear me complaining about you with your no shirt.” She countered.
I trailed my eyes down her body and saw the scar from the attack and my resolve for doing this came back and I pushed my lust aside.
“Okay, pick a song to work out to, it needs to be upbeat. This will be the song we work out to every time. It will help you develop a rhythm and eventually whenever the song is on your body will focus on the beats and moves.”
She walked over to my sound system and flipped through my iPod, then asked me if she could purchase a song. I nodded. Soon the sounds of Bon Jovi’s ‘It’s my Life’ fill the gym. Nodding my head in approval with a small smile on my face, I direct her to the center of the room where I had a mat. I couldn’t help myself any longer and kissed her passionately.
Geno entered the room clearing his throat. We broke apart and I smiled at her.
“Geno has offered to help. He knows a little he said so when we get to it, I’ll be able to demonstrate with him on how to spar with me. Okay?”
She nodded her head. So I continued, “Okay, first you need to get in the right stance. You need a wide stance with your feet parallel with your knees. Like this,” I demonstrated the stance.
“Like this?”
“Yes, good. Be sure to keep your abs and gluteus tight. It will help you stay centered. First, we are going to warm up. Simple shoulder roll.” I demonstrate how to do it. “No, Angel. You have to lift your heel from the floor and you aren’t using your elbows. Only your shoulders. Yes, there you go. Keep going.”
Glancing over at Geno, I see him doing exactly what needs to be done. He’s not using his elbows, but rolling at the shoulders and lifting his heels. I nod at him. He nods back. We continue shoulder rolls for a bit longer before I stop her.
“You need to make sure you do that before you start working out. It opens up the muscles. Also, always make sure you lift your heels from the floor when you do it. Otherwise, you are tweaking your knees, okay?”
“Yes, Sir,” she mock salutes causing me to smirk.
“First thing, I’m going to teach you is a jab. Hold your arms up almost like you are talking on the phone,” I position my hands and she copies. “Yes, perfect. Okay, now roll your shoulder out and extend your arm straight in front of you. Now pull it back to your ribs. Good. Now the same with the other side. Always remember to keep your other hand up. It’s protecting your face. Good. Now let’s keep doing that for a minute.”
I turn to see how Geno is doing. Again, no help needed from me. So I turn back to Colleen as we work again.
“Breath out on the jab and breathe in as you pull back. Good.”
I walk over to her and place my hand on her stomach. She looks like she has lost too much weight. Which reminds me, we still need to eat. I move my hands to her hips. A small moan escapes and I smile to myself.
“Rotate more in your hips, Angel.” I help twist her hips and the little shit rubs into me. “Ha ha not funny,” I laugh as I move away from her. “Okay, first kick is the Front Push kick. You have to make sure you keep yourself straight. If you lean too far back or forward, your center is thrown and you can be easily knocked on your ass. Pretend you have an object in front of you that you need to get out of the way, but your hands are full. Keep your hands up and kick it out,” I say as I demonstrated the kick.
Surprisingly, she picked it up rather quickly with the proper posture and everything. So we moved on to the Side Push kick and the Back Push kick. Geno needed assistance on those kicks, but waited to ask until after I had finished with Colleen and she had picked them up. Pretty soon everyone had them all down. Soon we started working on combinations, but before long Colleen runs to the bathroom to puke.
I turned to Geno, “What happened there? Is she puking because she didn’t eat or move much? Because of all the stress?”
“I don’t know, honestly. She was puking when I picked her up. I think it’s her nerves. She is scared shitless that you are going to get hurt and it will be her fault.”
“Hell, I’m blaming myself because this psycho woman has brought her past to her feet. Maybe her learning this will help her feel safer knowing she stands a better chance.”
“Maybe,” he looks down a second, then back up at me. “How is she? Has she done okay aside from the drama that Harriet has left her?”
“She is a very headstrong woman. She doesn’t trust easily and she was very standoffish until my sister and I kind of cracked her I guess. Colleen’s already a part of my family since she has none…well she didn’t know she did. I love her plain and simple.”
“Do you think she’ll let me in?”
“I don’t know Geno. She went through a hell of a lot of shit. Her mom beating the shit out of her, her mom’s men trying to rape her or beating the shit out her, losing her dad…I just don’t know. Did you know that in order to stop from getting raped, she ended up killing a guy and her mom tried to get her put in prison for it?”
“I didn’t know her mom tried to put her in prison, but she did just tell me about killing the guy,” he hangs his head.
“If you are going to stand a chance, you have to show her that you’re here now. You weren’t then plain and simple and you lied to her. You can’t make up for what has already been done, but you can make a start now and work for a future. It’s all I can offer for advice. I’m going to go check on my girl. You did a great job. We’ll keep working.”
With that, I turned and left the room to go check on my Angel.
CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
~WENDI~
It has been two weeks since that little bitch has been taken care of. She stupidly went to him alone. How more of an idiot could she be? Did she really think she could stand there and walk away from Lenny Garcia after having run from him for so many years? It took a bi
t to get a full history on her. She truly had a full history too. I wonder how much of it she has told dear old sweet Carson. She won’t get him. I have never let a man go that I wanted.
Although I have lately had to keep telling myself that he will be worth it because this is the most effort I have had to put into my next victim…I mean husband.
They like to call me a Black Widow. Well, they would if they could ever catch me. I have been married five different times and each time my husband has suffered an untimely demise. One a boating accident, another a hiking accident, and the list goes on. I laugh to myself. None of them ever saw it coming either. I have had a few knocks around as I had to make each look believable. People would begin to talk if husbands kept dying, but the wife was never harmed or saddened.
It was when I first started looking into husband number six, I had weeded through many candidates before deciding that I needed a break and it was time to have fun.
Oh, and what fun I had. Sleeping with men for fun was different than sleeping with men that I aim to kill for their money. When it’s for fun, I can let my hair down and truly enjoy the feelings, but when I am with a candidate I have to be more conservative and contour to their likings. It truly is very stressful. So letting go was exactly what I needed.
I was sleeping with Henry at the time and boy he was a lot of fun. Mmm, just thinking about our moments together had my blood boiling.
“Hi, do you come here often?” Asked a gorgeous red haired, blue eyed man standing next to me.
“No, this is my first time here. Just in town for a job interview.” I wasn’t completely lying to him. Even though I was taking a break from the hardcore searching, I was still searching none the less.
“My name is Henry.” He reached out his hand to me.
“I’m Dani,” I cooed as I put my hand in his.
Today, I was Dani, tomorrow I could be Sally or Tina. It was part of the business. When I married, it was never my real name. Helped stay inconspicuous for a little longer.
He raised my hand to his mouth and kissed it gently, he never took his eyes from mine. I could feel the shiver run through me. This man had an agenda and he wasn’t hiding it. I smiled a sexy smile at him and batted my eyes. When he smiled, I knew that he understood.
