Drawing the Devil

“You make me horny, you know that?”

Shane smirked as he bit into the last piece of fried chicken. “You keep saying that, but I don’t get it.”

Dustin took the chicken from Shane and tossed it behind them. “I wanna fuck you. I’ve never fucked anyone without a rubber on.”

“I thought you liked to bottom with me. We haven’t switched since that first morning.”

  “Yeah, I know. But, like, I’ve never… But if you don’t wanna…”

Shane pulled Dustin in for a kiss. “If you’d like to top, that’d be fun. You just caught me by surprise, that’s all.”

Dustin’s mood swung again, and he bounced with excitement. “I really wanna know what it’s like. ’Cause being catcher was damn hot. I wanna come in your ass and then fuck you through the jizz.”

Shane ran his hands over his chest and began rubbing his own nipples as he listened to Dustin. “You’d like that? Fucking my butt through your own jizz?”

“Oh, fuck yeah, that sounds hot.”

Shane pulled off his shirt and tossed it to one side. Next were his boots. Jeans and underwear soon followed, leaving him naked and hard as he lay back on the blanket.

Dustin paused to drink in the beauty of Shane’s body. He could see a clear bead form at the tip of Shane’s cock and then ooze down the side of his dick. His attraction to Shane was stronger than ever as pulses of heat ran through his system. Dustin knew what he wanted. He wanted to give Shane the same experience he’d had earlier. He wanted Shane to enjoy the same mind-altering orgasm. Dustin stood and stripped, then moved between Shane’s legs.

He grabbed the bottle of lube, pushed one of Shane’s legs up, and drizzled the thick liquid down Shane’s cleft. Trailing his fingers between Shane’s muscular cheeks, Dustin sank a finger deep inside. The tight heat wrapped around Dustin’s finger as he raked over Shane’s prostate.

“Oh hell. That’s nice.” Shane’s eyes fluttered shut.

The wind carried the delicious scent of Shane into the air around Dustin before disappearing. He added more lube and a second finger as he worked to loosen Shane for the pounding he had in mind. The muscular body squirming underneath him ramped up Dustin’s lust as he slipped a bundle of three fingers into Shane.

Shane trembled and sucked air through his teeth as his ass stretched. Dustin’s cock ached as he worked to prepare his lover. Ready to bury his uncovered cock inside Shane, Dustin popped his fingers out.

He coated his dick with lube, lifted Shane’s legs to his shoulders, then pushed himself inside. Shane gasped, and his body shook as Dustin went at his ass with powerful strokes. Shane whimpered as the pleasure mounted from Dustin’s cock sliding in again and again.

  “How’s that?”

  “Shit! Good.”

“Ready for some slamming bull-rider sex?”

Shane licked his lips and leered at Dustin, hooking his feet together behind Dustin’s ass in answer. Shane’s heels urged Dustin to thrust faster. With a few more hard strokes, Shane writhed under him. Dustin dug his toes into the grass, lifting himself higher, and slammed into Shane. Sweat dripped from Dustin as a familiar tingle radiated from his groin.

Hammering Shane, Dustin lost his rhythm as his climax hit. With a final powerful thrust, Dustin buried himself deep inside Shane’s body as the first powerful jet shot from his cock.

“Oh fuck! I love you!” Dustin yelled.

The orgasm rolled over him as his balls emptied a second time. His body writhed in ecstasy as jet after jet of semen filled Shane. When the final wave washed over Dustin, he collapsed onto Shane. His body twitched as they cooled, the breeze a welcome accompaniment. He wiggled forward and kissed Shane. But Shane’s face wasn’t filled with the satisfied pleasure he’d expected.

  “What’s wrong?”

Shane took Dustin’s face between his hands and pressed their lips together. “Not a thing. That was crazy good. You’re right.”

Pride flowed through Dustin at Shane’s praise. “Good, but next time I bottom.”

Shane grabbed him as he began to move off. “No, just stay like this. I don’t need to get off again, I’m good. But this, this is what I want.”

Dustin nodded, still floating in his own bliss.

  Chapter Thirteen

Dustin ran around the outside of their trailer whooping in excitement at the rankings after last weekend’s rodeo. He leapt on Shane and wrapped his legs tight. “The earnings are posted. I made it! I’m goin’ to Vegas, baby!”

Shane hugged him tight. “That’s great. I’m so proud of you.”

“We need to celebrate. Hell, we need a fuckin’ blow-out party.”

Shane glanced around them and then kissed Dustin quickly. “I think it’d be fun to have a little party. We just need to be careful.”

“Careful? Since when are we careful?” Dustin stared at Shane, frustrated at his timid approach.

Shane checked around them again, never meeting Dustin’s eyes. “You know, just a little cautious, that’s all. We don’t want to draw attention.”

Dustin jumped away from Shane and started yelling. “I’m going to ride fuckin’ raunchy bulls at the national finals rodeo! Woop! Woop!”

Shane tried to calm him, but Dustin danced away. “Shane Rees is the fuckin’ best-lookin’ man on the damn planet!”

Shane’s face turned deep red as he grabbed at Dustin. “Damnit! Shhh.”

“And…he’s a damn good kisser!” Dustin jumped and ran away laughing. He spun and launched himself at Shane, wrapping his arms and legs around him again. He kissed Shane until his muscles relaxed, then Dustin uncoiled and dropped to his feet.

“Look, I’ve never had a boyfriend before, especially a stud like you. I don’t plan on being quiet about it.” Dustin held Shane’s face between his hands and stared into his eyes. “I know it scares the shit outta you that those assholes almost killed you ’cause you’re gay. But I’m not going to hide who I am and how I feel about you anymore. Fuck ’em. Fuck ’em all!”

Shane shook his head and tried to turn away, but Dustin held him tight. “No. No more. Do you understand?”

“Yeah, okay. I just don’t want anything to happen to either of us.”

“It’s gonna be fine.” One of Dustin’s idiotic smiles burst across his face. “Hey, we were celebrating a few minutes ago. We’re both going to Vegas!”

  “I’m just the alternate.”

“Look, you’re there. That’s all that matters. Right?” Dustin trotted over to their cooler, stuck his hands in the ice-filled water and fished out two beers. He handed off the cold bottle, unscrewed the top on his and took a swallow before trying to explain it again. “They don’t take as many bullfighters as riders, and the bullfighters are voted on. You’re the youngest one. That’s really cool that you’re at the finals.”

“I know, you keep reminding me.” Shane drank part of his beer while he stared into the growing dim of the New Mexico mountains and the campground started settling in for the night. Shane sat until Dustin became impatient.

  “What’s going on?”

“It’s that thing for my brother. I’m happy for him and all, but I can’t help but think… Well, he’s going to have a family, and I never will.” Shane slammed his bottle down onto the tailgate, sending glass everywhere. Dustin calmly stepped up, took the broken bottle from Shane’s clenched fist and then checked his hand for injury. Carefully removing the few small shards that remained, he met Shane’s gaze.

“You can still have a family. You know you can. I’m having one. It’s on my list.”

“That’s bullshit. Gay guys don’t have families. Everyone knows that.”

Dustin scowled. Since when did I become the reasonable one?

“Bullshit’s right. Darrin and Trent have a family. They had pictures of their sons and grandkids everywhere. I remember them t
alkin’ about them. So you’re just being a dick.”

Dustin crossed his arms and for once let the silence stretch out. After a few long minutes, Shane jumped off the tailgate and started pacing. Dustin could almost feel the thump of each boot as it hit the ground.

Dustin started to speak, and Shane cut him off. “It’ll be fine. I gave Sam what he wanted. Everybody’s happy, right?”

Dustin became unusually solemn. “Someday you’re gonna have kids of your own.”

Shane slowed and then came to a stop. “So it’s on your list, huh?”

“Yup, right after I get a kickass house. But I’m okay with a chain-link fence. It would keep the cattle outta the yard better than some little picket thing.” He waited, seeing that Shane was listening now. “You did a great thing. And you’re gonna be a dad. That’s amazing.”

Shane ran his fingers through his hair and let out a long-held breath. “No. Sam’s going to be a dad, not me. But I guess I could be the uncle that spoils the kid rotten.”

“So…does that make me an uncle too?

  “What?”

“Well, since we’re together… Does that mean I’m an uncle too?”

Shane walked in front of Dustin and pulled him in tight, tucking Dustin’s head under his chin. “Yes, it does.”

Dustin bounced up and down on the fence as he waited to watch Todd’s ride. The build-up of excitement before his first go-round at the National Finals left Dustin a frazzled bundle of nerves. The one thing saving him from losing his mind completely had been the fact that Shane and Todd made the finals too. Todd was beginning finals ranked above Dustin, but the winnings from the runs during the finals were high enough so that someone could go from fifteenth place to winning the whole thing. Dustin was also relieved that Shane had shaken the fear he’d been dealing with over the attack.

His own ride earlier had been okay, but this was the National Finals. The other bull riders were top-notch. He could live with a score of eighty-six out of a hundred. Dustin wiped the sweat from his palms. Todd was up now. Shane watched from the other side of the arena, and even though he wasn’t in the ring, Dustin was glad he was close in case something happened. He believed Shane would save the day if things went wrong, even if he knew deep down that sometimes things just went to shit and no one could do anything about it.

Todd drew a bull named Bushwhacker. It was one of the few bulls at the finals Dustin hadn’t ridden. All the bulls here were the best, so he knew Bushwhacker would give Todd a high-scoring ride. Dustin couldn’t help but compare his bull to Todd’s. His competitive nature pushed him to win, even against his best friend.

A loud bang drew his attention to the chute. In a few seconds, Dustin realized Todd was having trouble. Every time he lowered himself onto the bull’s back, the bull would throw its head and try to pin Todd’s leg against the gate. After a handful of false starts, Todd settled on its back. The waiting left Dustin with his nerves strung tight. His eyes locked on his friend as Todd’s black cowboy hat flipped back and forth. Thank God! I thought they’d never start.

The bull exploded from the chute, bucking high enough that it looked like a bronc. Its back coiled down, then snapped back with enough force that even Dustin winced. The bull jerked into a spin, trying to rid itself of the troublesome cowboy. Dustin could almost feel Todd’s legs clamp around the big animal. The bull whipped out of its spin and started a bucking run across the arena.

The clock ticked down, and Dustin muttered, “Come on, Todd. Just a few more seconds. Come on!”

The animal suddenly managed a seemingly impossible maneuver and switched nose for tail, and Todd slid.

  “Damn it! Hang on!”

Todd slipped again, and Dustin groaned when his friend was thrown. A gasp from the crowd snapped Dustin’s focus back. Todd had tangled in his bull rope and was being dragged across the hard-packed dirt. The two bullfighters rushed in to help. But they couldn’t untangle Todd from the rosin-coated rope.

Dustin glanced across the arena to see Shane pressed against the fence, his face pinched and his focus on Todd. It felt as if hours crawled past as the efforts of the bullfighters focused on getting Todd out uninjured. With a sudden lurch, Todd’s hand broke free, and he landed in a sprawling pile in the middle of the arena.

Without pausing, the bull flipped, lowered its head and charged the unseated cowboy. Todd managed to stagger to his feet before the bull hit him like a semi. Dustin was horrified as his friend folded in half over the ton of beef hitting him in the back. Judging by Todd’s muffled scream, the injury was bad. One of the bullfighters ran from the side to distract the animal. His effort earned him a sideswipe of Bushwhacker’s horns that left the bullfighter crumpled on the arena floor.

Dustin climbed the fence with some half-baked idea of rescue. The bull dropped its head, charged again. It ground Todd into the arena dust. The bull backed off for a second. Todd lay like a broken GI Joe doll. A strangled gasp escaped Dustin’s lips. The horsemen separated the bull from the broken bodies. A fog of disbelief engulfed Dustin as Todd and the bullfighter were carried from the arena by EMTs.

A hand lay gently on Dustin’s shoulder. He ripped around, ready to dismember whoever broke his focus. He threw a violent punch, trying to pull it when he realized it was Shane, but still delivered a good pop.

“Damn. Glad to see you too.” Shane rubbed his hand over his jaw. “Take a breath. The ambulance is already gone. They’ll be at the ER in a few minutes. I know you want to be there, but you can’t help right now. I’ll take you over as soon as the last ride ends. I have to fill in for Pete. The horn he took to the chest tore him up pretty good.”

Dustin froze in place, still stunned. “Okay, thanks. I just need to be there for Todd. He’s… His family is…” He shrugged, unable to put his emotions into words.

Shane nodded and rubbed his hand over the back of Dustin’s neck. “It won’t be long. I’ve already talked to the other bullfighters, and they know I’m going to the hospital as soon as we’re done. I swear. As quick as I can.”

“I know. I know there’s nothing I can do. But I need to be there.”

Shane patted Dustin’s back again. He leaned into the touch, needing Shane’s support as fear filled him. Shane’s hand tightened with a comforting strength.

“Come on, you can talk to me while I get dressed.”

Dustin wondered what was going on. “Aren’t you afraid everyone will find out about us?”

“We need each other. I’ve been thinking about what you said, and you’re right. We can’t live our lives hiding. It’s time they get over some of their shit. And if they can’t, then they can just fucking stay outta my business.”

  “Okay, sounds good to me.”

Dustin pushed the door to Todd’s hospital room open slowly, afraid of what he’d find. Shane had brought him over as soon as the event ended, but they’d been in the waiting room with Todd’s family while Todd went through a complicated surgery to put the pieces back together. They had all been so focused on Todd that no one questioned Shane’s presence. They waited until most of the family left before trying to see him. Dustin eased around the corner to find Todd’s mother sitting in the chair beside the bed. She glanced up, and relief flooded Dustin at her smile.

“Come on in, Dustin. Todd’s still pretty groggy from the anesthesia. But they say in six months or so, he’ll be ready to ride again.”

“If my mommy lets me,” came the faint grumble from the bed.

“Todd! Damn, you scared me!” Dustin said.

“Shh, this is a hospital, asshole. You can’t go around screaming.”

“Todd! Your language,” said his mom.

  “Yes, ma’am.”

The idea of Todd not spewing obscenities was so foreign to Dustin that he couldn’t help but laugh. Mostly, he was relieved that his friend would be okay. Todd’s eyes drifted shut and then fl
uttered open to focus on Dustin. “Where’s the squeeze? I know he brought you.”

Dustin’s gaze darted between the two Martins, not sure what to say or do, afraid of what Todd’s mother would think when she found out he was gay.

Todd let out a groan as he moved to a more comfortable position. He rolled his eyes at Dustin. “Oh holy—” Todd glanced at his mother. “Shoot. You left Shane waiting, didn’t you? Go get him, dumb—head.”

Dustin glanced at Todd’s mother. She nodded in agreement. He went to the door and motioned for Shane to come into the room. They walked back together. Todd’s mother was helping him get a sip of water. He swallowed and then relaxed against the pillow. Once he was settled again, he smirked at the pair.

“Hey, Shane. How are you feeling these days?”

“I didn’t just lose an argument with an angry bull, so I’m doing pretty well. I’ve healed up fine. Just like you will.”

Todd’s eyes sagged shut, then popped open as he fought off sleep. “Wish you’d have been in there. Maybe you’d have got me loose before that bad boy tried to grind me into the dirt.”

Shane shook his head. “Those guys are good. I wouldn’t have done any better.”

“Yeah? None of them jumped the bull to help me.”

“I haven’t done that lately either.”

There was silence and then soft breathing as Todd succumbed to the medication. Dustin glanced around, not sure what to do.

“Dustin, are you going to introduce me to your friend?” Mrs. Martin asked.

Panic washed over him. “Um, sure. No problem, Mrs. M. Yeah, like, ahuh. This is Shane.” He paused and swallowed hard, not sure he was ready for this, but said it anyway. “He’s my boyfriend.”

She stood and leaned over Todd’s sleeping form to shake Shane’s hand. “Good to meet you. Please call me Kris. I wish Dustin had seen fit to fill me in sooner. Todd’s told me something about you, though. Dustin thinks I’m going to go all fundamentalist on his ass because he’s gay. He doesn’t believe I’ve known ever since he and Todd became friends.”
