  Jasmine pops her brow. “Umm, okay.”

  “I’m going to see if there is a place to get a drink.”

  “I can head into town and get you—”

  I raise my hand. “I need a change of scenery. I’ll just drive into the village we passed and see if I can find a place to grab a drink.”

  “I’ll drive you.” Marcus moves to stand, but I shake my head.

  “Don’t be ridiculous. I can drive myself.”

  “And have a drink?” he leads like a father.

  “I’m a big girl, and what’s one drink?”

  He doesn’t look happy, but I don’t want to be around them, or anyone who knows me for that matter. Taking the keys, I walk toward the door.

  “Remember, they drive on the opposite side of the road,” Jasmine says.

  I turn around and glare at her. She holds back her laughter as I exit the cottage.
