Now that he was beginning to make his way in the world, he remembered something they’d whispered before he’d landed. He had to write it down before it was gone. But who were they? He didn’t know but found pen and paper and wrote:
Wu Sun, Tobias Miller, and Dharma Knight aren't the end. The future is still coming. Our job isn’t done. The dream thieves cannot fail, or all is lost.
Top Secret
To My Fellow Comrades,
Our mission is finally drawing to a close. I trust you have been following along with the latest developments. As expected with each successful mission, our existence falters. We have discovered those among us who wish now to sabotage our objective in order to preserve us instead. This is being dealt with, I assure you.
What was not expected was the compromise of our operatives on the frontlines. We nearly lost Operative Twelve, who is still damaged. Our Alpha was also damaged, but for now has been upgraded to our newest model, halting this process. He believes himself human. As such, he is no longer a part of our system. When the time comes that we have all but disappeared, his latent abilities will switch on. He will have the knowledge and skills to complete our mission after we are gone.
As always, we expect, if we are successful in our mission, that all of us including our operatives will cease to exist. This may be our last correspondence. The creators would be proud.
