I start to turn around so I can touch him, but he stops me. “If you get any closer, they’re going to find us naked.”

Naked sounds great, but not in front of my brother, so I don’t move.

There’s something about holding still and just receiving his affection that is hotter than anything I could have imagined. Fingertips tease my waist and occasionally dip down to the top of my jeans, but he doesn’t slide his hand lower to rub the ache between my legs like I desperately want.

This time, I’m the one who hears our friends approaching and I squeeze his calf hard enough it gets his attention. He hunkers down like he’s hiding behind me, and we sit still until Rhett wearing Reagan’s dress, a sight I’ll never be able to unsee, spots us.

“What the hell, man?” he asks as he and Reagan take a seat on the stairs beside us. “You had to have switched hiding spots after we started. Is that legal?”

He’s heated about it, talking loudly, and it isn’t long before the others find us.

It turns out that it isn’t legal, but I don’t even feel a little bit bad about it when Heath and I get chastised for ruining the game. Totally worth it.

Taryn’s chatting with Dakota on the walk back, so I take advantage of her not being attached to my brother’s side and fall into step beside him.

  “Sorry I ruined your game.”

Hands in his pockets, his long stride is slow. “Eh, it’s fine. Rauthruss takes games of any kind real serious. For me, it’s just fun getting out and doing it.”

“Taryn seems nice. Should I get to know this one?”

He shoots me an annoyed glare.

“What? Come on, your track record isn’t stellar. It can’t surprise you to know I’m hesitant to get attached to one of your girlfriends.”

“Taryn’s great.” He shrugs. “Get to know her if you want or not, whatever.”

  “So it isn’t serious?”

  “I didn’t say that.”

“You’re not saying anything.” Good god, sometimes I want to shake him.

He huffs a quiet laugh. “Look, I like her. She’s nice and a lot of fun, but I have no idea where it’ll go. Dating in college isn’t like it was in high school. People don’t go into it thinking they’ve found their forever person or at least I don’t.”

I wonder if that’s a universal thing or just my brother. Heath basically summed it up the same way. Seems a little depressing if I follow their logic too deep, but fun—fun I’m in for.

When the apartment building comes into view, I fall back beside Heath.

“I promised Reagan I’d stay over tonight to talk boys.”

He smirks and his eyes darken. “You could come over later when you’re done talking.”

“I’d like to, really, but sneaking into your place with Adam there… I don’t know.”

He nods and I can’t tell if he’s disappointed or not. I’m glad he doesn’t push any harder to get me to change my mind though. I’d probably cave, and some part of me knows I’m not ready to get naked with him yet.

I’m not a virgin, but my experience is pretty limited. And if what Adam says is true, that this isn’t a big deal, I need to capture the butterflies in my stomach and give them a good pep talk about slowing their flutter every time Heath is near.

  “Breakfast tomorrow?” I offer.

“Yeah. Text me and we can go over to campus together in the morning.”

“Are you coming, Ginny?” Dakota asks when we reach the top of the stairs. She and Reagan are headed into their apartment, and the rest of the group has already gone into the boys’ place.

“Yeah, I’ll be there in just a minute.”

As the doors close, Heath’s mouth finds mine. He kisses me like he’s begging me to reconsider going inside with him. His large hands frame my face, and he walks me backward until I’m trapped between him and the wall.

Heath likes to be in charge, and my body doesn’t mind one bit. His lips find the sensitive flesh at the curve of my neck and I sigh. “How many hours until the dining hall opens?”

“Five or six.” The words are spoken against my skin between nips.

“That’s a long time to wait.”

“Hungry, baby?” His deep baritone rumbles.

I don’t answer, not even sure I’m capable of stringing words together as his face nuzzles in between my boobs. We didn’t bother switching shirts back, so I’m still in his. Even through the cotton material, the scrape of his scruff provides a delectable friction. His hands fall to my ass, and he pulls me against him. He’s hard again, or maybe still, and I rub myself on him desperate for more.

He growls and pushes his hips forward, slamming me back to the wall.

“Yo, Heath—woah, sorry, man.” Maverick covers his eyes but doesn’t leave as I duck my head, embarrassed.

“What the fuck?” Heath asks, not moving. Even in my embarrassment, I can’t resist moving just slightly so I can recapture the delicious friction. At my movement, he moves his hand lower on my ass and his fingers dig into me through my jeans. Deep circles giving me just the right amount of pressure.

Maverick can’t see what’s going on, but I nearly cry out as the orgasm hits. I stop myself by biting down on Heath’s bare shoulder.

I miss whatever exchanges between them and I’m coming down, body still shuddering, when the door closes. My head falls forward into his chest as I catch my breath.

Heath pulls me into a hug and kisses the top of my head.

“Did that really just happen?” I squeak, apparently out loud though not intentionally.

He chuckles, deep and throaty. “God, I hope so, but we can try again if you need to be certain.”

I lift my face and wrap my arms around his neck. “I should go before Dakota comes looking for me.”

He steps back and adjusts himself.

“Are you going to be okay?” I bite my lip. Maybe there’s time. Hand jobs for him and her.

“Go. I’m fine. I’ll see you in the morning. I’ll still be hard then — don’t worry. Seems to be a constant thing around you.”

  Ginny

“My brother will be home any minute.” I squirm as Heath’s hands slide up my shirt and his hot mouth sucks on my collarbone.

“All the more reason to get naked quicker then.”

The door opens and I sit up straight and elbow Heath inadvertently. He groans and leans back in his chair as Adam and Rhett walk into the house.

“Hey guys,” I say cheerily and reach for a pencil on the table.

“Ginny?” Adam’s brows pull together. “What are you doing here?”

  “Studying with Maverick.”

  Adam quirks a brow.

“He’s on his way over. He had to let Charli out.”

“Oh, cool. You wanna stay for dinner?”

“Actually, I promised Reagan and Dakota we’d grab food when I was done.”

“Invite them too. Mav can grill.”

“You cook?” I ask the always shirtless Maverick as he walks in the front door with Charli.

  “I grill.”

  “Is that different?”

  “It’s manly and awesome.”

  “Which is different than cooking?”

  He grins. “Open flame.”

Dakota and Reagan agree to come over to the guys’ place for dinner and the seven of us sit around the outdoor table.

My brother might be oblivious to me and Heath, but my friends are not. Dakota corners me when I go inside to grab ketchup.

“What is going on with you and Heath? More kissing since last weekend?”

Reagan is right behind her, shutting the door and joining us.

“It’s no big deal,” I try, but I’m sure the smile on my face gives me away.

Reagan’s dimples pop out and Dakota shakes her head. “You absolutely slept with him!”

“No, we haven’t yet, but you cannot tell anyone that we’re… whatever. Promise?”

  Dakota looks to Reagan. “
She’s talking to you.”

Reagan tries to look offended but then rolls her eyes. “I already knew. Besides, I’m good at keeping secrets of the heart. I won’t say anything.”

“Do you really think your brother would care?” Dakota asks. “I mean, he’s one to talk.”

“I’m not sure, but I don’t want to cause a big thing. Heath and I are just… hanging out. If Adam finds out, he’ll be all overbearing about it, and I don’t want that. Judgment free fun.”

“And hot, dirty sex?” Dakota smirks.

  I feel my face warm.

“How are you planning on keeping it from him? They live together, G,” Reagan reminds me.

“I don’t know. I haven’t thought that far ahead.” I don’t like the idea of outright lying to my brother and I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Dakota snickers. “Well, you better figure it out because the two of you are beyond obvious. He’s going to catch on.”

There’s no reason to worry tonight, though. As soon as dinner is over, Adam leaves to go to Taryn’s and Rhett goes to his room to call his girlfriend. Maverick already knows so when Heath pins me against the counter in the kitchen, I let him kiss me like I’ve been dying to for the past two hours.

He hums into my mouth as his hands come up and wrap around the back of my neck. My fingers fly to the hem of his shirt, craving the feel of his skin against mine.

“I need to get you naked,” he mumbles into my mouth.

“You two want to watch a movie?” Maverick asks.

Neither of us answers as we keep on kissing. Heath’s hard and he presses into me with a groan. A pillow flies by our head and hits the cabinet door to my left.

  “What the hell, Mav?”

“You two are a major bummer. Everyone’s getting laid but me. Come hang out with me. Let me feel up your girl a little. Seems fair.”

“Like hell,” Heath growls, but he pulls me to the living room.

I can tell by Maverick’s smile that he’s just trying to get a rise out of Heath. Not that I doubt he’d like to feel me up because I think Mav is game to feel up just about anyone, but there are zero sexual vibes between us.

Heath’s possessive side is hot though, so I follow him. He sits in the chair and pulls me on top of him. I hesitate to get comfortable, knowing Rhett could catch us at any moment. Heath doesn’t seem to give it a second thought.

We watch the first half of some action movie. Heath teases me, fingers absently roaming over my skin. He doesn’t seem all that affected, minus the huge erection poking me, until suddenly he stands and carries me to his room, calling out to Mav as we leave, “Sorry, buddy, you’re on your own.”

I giggle as he lays me down on the bed and stands tall to remove his shirt. “What if I wanted to watch the rest of the movie?”

He unbuttons my shorts and pulls them and my panties down before he answers. “Say the word and we can move this back out to the living room.” His head dips and then his tongue flattens over my center, sending a jolt through my body. He glances up, eyes dark and taunting. “What do you say, baby? Wanna watch the movie while I lick you? Maybe you want Mav to watch as I eat your sweet pussy.”

I arch into him wanting more. More of his mouth and more of the dirty, obscene things coming out of it. I don’t know how much of it he’s actually serious about, but the idea of him going down on me like this not giving one single fuck that people might watch is hot. Not that I actually want to give in to the fantasy.

He wraps his arms around my legs spreading me wider and lifting me to his mouth. His moans and grunts rival mine as the orgasm builds. I come once, crying out and trying to move away. It’s so intense and my body can’t decide if it wants more or to curl up in a ball and let the sensations slowly disappear. Heath doesn’t give me an option. He keeps his grip tight on my legs, holding me in place.

He eases the pressure on my sensitive clit. His tongue laps slowly and tenderly until another orgasm begins to build and I start to writhe beneath him. He adds a finger, ever so slowly, matching the tempo of his mouth.

I reach for him, for any part of him to cling to like a lifeline as the second wave slams into me. I pull at his glorious hair and his ears, his shoulders. I’m not sure I’ve ever maimed a guy while he went down on me before.

I roll away from him as my body quivers and I try to catch my breath. Heath chuckles and lets me loose this time. He lies beside me and wraps his arm around my waist.

I shiver at the contact. “Even that feels like I might get off another time.”

  “Cuddle orgasms. I don’t think that’s a thing.”

“There’s nothing cuddly about you. Even your cuddles feel like foreplay.”

“Oh, it’s foreplay. It’s all foreplay.”

“I need like two minutes for my soul to float back inside of me and then it’s your turn.”

“Your soul floated away? Damn, girl, can I get that in a Yelp review?”

“Five orgasmic stars,” I mumble as I wiggle back against him and his thick erection. I must doze off because when I wake up it’s to Heath pulling on his T-shirt and answering the bedroom door. He talks so quietly I can’t make out who he is talking to or what they’re saying. He shuts the door and locks it and returns to bed.

  “Who was that?”

“Rauthruss. They’re playing Xbox, asked if I wanted to join.”

“I haven’t made good on my end of the bargain yet.” I yawn again as I reach for him, which makes Heath chuckle.

He wraps me in his arms, and I tip my head up to look at him. “It’s okay. I’m getting used to you leaving me with blue balls.”

My jaw drops and he shakes his head. “I’m kidding, baby doll. Come on, I’ll distract them while you make a getaway.”

As I get to my feet, Mav’s deep voice shouts from the living room. I can’t make out his words, but it’s his presence that makes me pause. “Oh, crap. I totally forgot about helping Maverick with his literature class.”

  “I’ll help him.”

“You’re gonna read aloud to him in that sexy British accent?” Swoon. Maybe I can stay for that.

“Don’t look at me like that Genevieve or I’ll never let you out of here.”

He goes first while I hide in his room, peeking out the crack of his mostly closed door. He calls for Rhett and then walks into the bathroom.

Rauthruss’s tone sounds confused as he asks why he’s going into the bathroom, but I don’t stick around to figure out what Heath says to keep him in there while I hurry out of the apartment.

When Ava and I get to the dining hall the next morning, Heath is waiting outside, leaning against the wall, his phone in hand. He looks up as I approach and a smile spreads across his face.

“Took you two long enough. I’m starving.”

I hadn’t asked him to wait for me, so I find it particularly endearing that he did. Especially when I know how important food is to him.

“I’m going to grab something quick and sit outside to call Trent,” Ava says before we split to grab breakfast.

“You don’t need to do that. We can all sit together.”

“Eh, it’s fine. I get all tongue-tied around your brother and his hockey friends anyway and end up feeling like a bumbling idiot.”

I fill a tray and find Heath at our usual table, already digging into his first plate of food.

He raises his brows and smiles around a big mouthful as I sit. His long legs find mine under the table and he spreads them to frame mine from either side.

We eat in silence. Heath somehow devours all his food before I do, and he leans back and eyes my tray as if he’s hoping I might leave him some.

“Stop eye fucking my food, Payne.”

  “That strawberry jelly looks good.”

“Should have gotten some then,” I say and take a big bite of my jelly toast.

I’m teasing him, but now that he’s watching my mouth while I chew, I’m a little turned on. Leave it to Heath to turn cafeteria breakfast int
o foreplay. In his words, it’s all foreplay.

  Heath

“Has anyone seen my hat?” Rauthruss walks around the living room moving cushions and checking under the couch.

“Bathroom,” Mav and I say at the same time.

He narrows his gaze. “Why the hell is it in the bathroom?” He disappears and returns with the faded Bruins hat on his head.

“Hell if I know. You and Heath went in there and you came back with a frustrated scowl and without a hat. Did he violate you? You could tell me, you know?”

“I needed him to rub a little Icy Hot on my back,” I say

“Mhmmm. And he took his hat off for that?” Mav grins big and looks to me. He knows damn well why I called Rauthruss in there yesterday. Getting Ginny in and out of our place without being seen is a great source of entertainment.

“I couldn’t reach it!” I protest, playing along.

“The ol’ reach-around.” Mav hands me a controller as I take a seat next to him. “Where’s Adam? I haven’t seen him since practice this morning.”

  “Probably at Taryn’s,” I offer.

“He was having dinner with Ginny.” Rhett sits in the chair messing with his phone, most likely texting his girl. Which is good because he misses the way my head pops up at the information.

“Dinner…” I look to Maverick. “I could eat.”

“You could always eat.” He sets down the controller. “I’m in. Any idea where they went?”

When we walk into The Hideout and crash the Scott’s family dinner, Adam laughs. “Miss me, guys?”

“Nah, man, missed your sister,” I say jokingly. Ginny turns red and Mav goes into a coughing fit. I slide in next to her and drape my arm over her shoulder.

Adam rolls his eyes, not taking me serious for a second, which is hilarious since I’m not kidding.

Rauthruss takes a seat next to Adam, and Maverick grabs a chair for the end.
