The creases of her eyes wrinkle. “What’s that?”
I reach under the seat and open the little drawer there.
“This.” I pull out the sprig of mistletoe and hold it above our heads.
Raven bursts into laughter. “Mistletoe! No way!”
“Huh?” I joke. “There’s mistletoe?” I pretend to see it for the first time. “Oh, wow! I guess we have to kiss now.”
She turns her cheek towards me. “Okay, but just make it super clean, all right?”
“Yes Ma’am.”
I go to kiss her on the cheek, but right before my lips hit her skin I drop the mistletoe and throw my weight against her. She falls down onto the seat, me still on top of her.
Shrieks of laughter leave her mouth. I cover them up with a passionate kiss. She stops pretending to fight and relaxes underneath me. Her arms slip around my back and her hips shift up towards mine.
I swirl my tongue across hers, reveling in the tastes of the night. Champagne. Heated, passionate kisses. I relive the whole evening. It makes me crave her more.
I’ve had a taste of Raven. Now I want to consume her completely. I want to make her mine in a way no other man can.
I break the kiss but keep my mouth against hers. “Get on your knees,” I growl.
I sit up and pull away from her, nestling back into the crook of the seat. Raven slowly sits up. She looks like she’s about to question my command, but she doesn’t. She presses her knees into the seat cushion and holds herself up straight.
“Take your dress off,” I say.
She slowly pulls it up and over her head. Her round, soft breasts heave and her lips part in excitement.
I reach out and run my hands over her bra cups, taking extra time to tease the points of her nipples.
“Hands and knees. Face away from me.”
In total subservient mode, she goes.
I’m already working at my belt, eager to release my dick. “And call me Mr. DeLisle.”
“Yes Mr. DeLisle,” she softly says.
Her obedient tone sets off a chain of animalistic reactions in me. A deep growl leaves my throat. I nearly tear the limo seat apart getting to her.
She jerks as I land a slap against her ass, but doesn’t make a noise. I run both palms over her milky rear, getting closer and closer to the deep crevice between them. When my fingers make contact with the thin panties, I grab them and rip them away from Raven’s flesh.
This time she yelps, her cry coinciding with the ripping of the panties. The friction leaves a small red mark on her skin. I bend down and kiss it, running my hands all over her legs, ass, and thighs.
I part her cheeks and take in the view before shoving my face between them. Raven jerks as my tongue hits her tight rim. I keep tasting her, holding her tight with my hands. Her cries of surprise turn into cries of pleasure. I push a finger between her folds then rotate it around inside of her.
“Mr. DeLisle,” she gasps. “Please...”
A growl of pleasure rips through my throat. “Please what?”
“Take me,” she gasps.
It’s all I need to hear. Pulling back from her, I extract my last condom from my pants and thrust it onto myself. I’m throbbing, aching, practically dying to claim Raven. Already the memories of what we’ve already done aren’t enough. I need to have her in a new way each and every minute.
I plow into her from behind, burying my whole length inside of her. She cries out. I cover her mouth with my hand, muffling her yell. Teeth graze against my fingers and one of her hands comes up to claw at my arm.
I keep going, gathering all my energy and pushing it into her. Her stifled yelps and hot breath hit my palm. I reach my other hand over and tweak her nipples. I need to rub any soft spot I can get ahold of.
My fingers find her clit and press hard against the soft button. Raven shakes in a new way, her lower back arching and her ass ramming back into me. Her channel closes tight around my dick, bringing me a stronger bout of pleasure.
I rub her clit in fast circles. She comes hard, biting down onto my hand. Her shakes subsiding, I pull my hand away from her mouth and wind it in her hair. Twisting the strands into a ball, I pull her head back slightly. The sight of her so subdued drives me even wilder.
Pulling out of Raven, I lock my hands onto her hips and flip her over. Her back lands on the limo cushion with a thud and she stares up at me with surprised eyes.
Wasting no time, I push her legs wide open again. I take my time with this entrance, slowly edging each inch of my length into her. Raven groans against the girth, raising her head so she can watch me take her.
Fully in, I let loose, pounding into her with a new intensity. Her lips fall open, each noise leaving her mouth a new one.
I lower onto her, my tongue just as eager for her as the rest of me. Our lips meet with the perfect amount of pressure. Raven holds tight onto me as I drive into her one last time. I release like a flood, all of the pent-up hunger from the night spilling out of me.
I fall against her chest, breathing heavily. On the other side of the window the city lights pulse and strobe. I drag my heavy body off of hers and suck in a deep breath.
Raven sits as well, brushing hair away from her sweaty face. She glances out the window. “Where are we going?”
I hesitate. “We could go back to the party.”
Her nose wrinkles just the slightest amount.
“Or not,” I say.
She looks at me, her eyes full of hope.
“No one knows about this party limo anyway,” I say with a grin. “It was supposed to be a surprise.”
Raven giggles against her palm. “That’s mean.”
I scoot closer against her and wrap my arm around her waist. “Tell me the truth… Do you really want to bring the rest of the office in here with us?”
I rub my nose against her neck and she sighs in joy.
“No,” she whispers. “Not really.”
“Good,” I grunt, “Because I’m not done with you yet.”
Her eyes go as wide as saucers. “You can’t be serious.”
“Oh, I’m serious. It’s only Friday. And you know that means it’s a long time till Monday.”
Raven practically glows. “What did you have planned for us, Mr. DeLisle?”
I groan in satisfaction and lower my face closer to hers. “Stick around and you’ll find out.”

Chapter 1
STEPH
I grabbed my phone in a last second dash, hoping I could find a way to save my life from the mess I was in.
There were three words he promised me with. Three words. And they weren’t I love you.
My hands shook as I typed the message.
I need you.
Chapter 2
TAZ
*YEARS AGO*
She was fucking beautiful. Standing there, next to the bonfire, the flames licking the cool air, the light bouncing off her. She held a red cup in her hand, filled with some rum and soda, and she had the damn sexiest dimples I’d ever seen on a girl before. We were fucking teenagers in a world that demanded us to be adults.
That was the night I met her. That was the night I took her to the bed of my truck. We watched the stars but I was more interested in watching the way she worked. You get my drift, right? It was fast and it was wildly fucking fun. Sure as shit though her old man was a cop in town and blamed me for every damn thing wrong.
That crack on the sidewalk out at McDonelly’s that Barb Ann tripped on busted up her knee? Yeah, that was somehow my fucking fault. Her old man rode me harder than she did.
But nothing stopped us.
Not until my one boy - Ace - got himself jacked up in an attempted robbery in the back of an alley. He took a knife to the gut. On the ground, bleeding out, I was a minute too fucking late. Wanna know why? Because I had been with her. She was pissing and moaning over something her father said. While my boy was trying to defend h
imself, fight for his life.
I held Ace in my arms when he took his last breath. He grabbed my neck and tried to say something to me. I never knew what it was. I told his mother that he said he loved her and was sorry for everything. Yeah, it wasn’t a good thing to lie but I figured if it helped the woman get over the death of her only son, then it was a lie worth telling.
Steph was at the funeral. She held my arm. I was drunk the whole time.
When it was over I took Steph home. I looked her dead in the eyes and told her it was over. I couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t survive in that shit hole of a town with her shit head of a father. That I should have been with Ace that night in the alley. We were supposed to meet and throw back a few cold ones, smoke a little, and waste the night away. Instead, he was targeted and goddamn murdered. Not to mention Steph’s old man was on my ass about what happened to Ace. I wasn’t sure whether he cared to solve the murder or just wanted to know if I had something to do with it. Like I’d kill one of my boys, right?
Steph cried her eyes out.
She slapped me across the face.
Then she got out of the truck and slammed the door with force. I watched her charge up the steps and inside. I blew her a kiss goodbye.
I went to the alley where Ace was killed and stood there. I’d find out later in life that it was just some bullshit situation. Nobody was after him. It was just a robbery gone wrong. Because Ace was like me. A fighter. The kind of guy that took no shit. The kind of guy that would swing first, ask later, and find a way to live another day.
As I stood there, I heard a car door shut.
I turned, wondering if the guys who killed Ace were back to get me.
It wasn’t that at all.
It was Steph.
She approached me slowly, her hands at her sides. “You’re an asshole.”
“I know,” I said. “But look where we are.”
“I see where we are.”
“You can blame me for anything you want,” Steph said. “I accept it. I can’t control my father. This town. The people. I can’t even control my feelings for you. I’m in love with you, Taz. You know that. I can’t let that go.”
I took Steph by the hands and lifted them to my mouth. I kissed one hand at a time. “Sweetheart, I love hearing that. It fucking cuts through a shell that I never thought could be cut. But you know what this is for us. It’s going to be a fucking nightmare over and over. I’m out of this place. I can’t do it.”
“I’ll go with you,” Steph said. “Right now. We’ll runaway together.”
I smiled. I pulled her in and kissed her. I tasted her lips, tongue, her sweet breath. I turned her and pinned her against the brick building. My body tight against hers.
“Fuck, sweetheart, you make everything in my life hard,” I growled.
“I know I do,” she said. She touched my face. “Am I really going to lose you, Taz?”
“For right now, there’s no choice,” I whispered. “You need to find a way out of this too. I’ll always be there for you. But I can’t settle here. I’m done.”
“What are you going to do?” Steph asked me.
“Hit the road and see where I end up. But I’m going to promise you something, sweetheart.”
“What’s that?”
“If you ever really need me, I’m there. Just call me. Text me. I don’t care. Whatever it is. I will fucking be there. Just say it. I need you.”
Steph blinked, holding back tears. She kissed me. “I need you, Taz. Right now.”
“One last trip in the back of my truck?” I asked.
Steph gave me those eyes. Those eyes that would forever be burned into my soul.
I had a fucking dream of coming back and getting her, but I knew it was mostly bullshit.
She was first love. They were hardest to let go.
But time… it always had a way to break shit up.
Chapter 3
TAZ
*NOW*
I shook hands with the owner of St. Skin, a tattoo shop in a little town called Hundred Falls Valley. I traveled the country, hitting shops and conventions, inking people up, partying, fighting, fucking, and moving along. I was like viking with a whiskey bottle and a tattoo gun, always on the move.
“We’re glad you’re here,” Tate said. “It’s a great fucking shop. How long you do you want to be here?”
“I’m the kind that’s here one night and gone the next,” I said.
“Ladies must love you,” Tate said.
“I never stick around to find out,” I said.
Tate was huge. A monster of a dude, looking like he was a bouncer. I matched his height and size though. I beat the shit out of my body at night but always took care of things in the gym the next day. I was built for how I looked.
Tattooed with attitude.
I got a tour of the shop. I got to meet some of the guys that worked there. Maddox, Axel, Cass and Max. Max mostly did portraits. Cass was a former rockstar. A guy named Prick who did the piercings. The place had a great vibe with tons of music flowing through.
With a few flicks of my thumbs to the screen on my phone, it was now known worldwide that Taz was at St. Skin. Inking people up for the weekend.
There was a back corner area that was empty. It would become my new home for a little while.
My first client showed up just before noon. There were some guys with cameras, filming some shit to post online. Anything to boost the shop and help me clean up some cash. Whatever. I didn’t give a damn about the cameras. But when it came time to ink someone up, that was an intimate thing. Not to mention my first client was a woman straight out of modeling shoot. Jet black hair. Damn near jet black eyes. Long legs and arms, a perfect chest, and a smile that gave away all her nasty intentions with me.
That was the life for me.
I was the rockstar. Except instead of telling stories with music I did it with ink. And my stories were fucking epic.
My first day went really smooth.
Three people in, three people out, a ton of online activity, and the phones ringing like crazy trying to make appointments to have Taz tattoo them. It was why I did it. I loved the art. I loved the money. I loved the pussy.
I was a rent instead of buy kind of guy when it came to women. My heart had been available only one time in my life and I kept it that way. Life moved easier when you were running solo.
Tate put a bottle of whiskey on the counter just after nine. One of the workers were pulling the chains, shutting off the neon lights in the shop.
“This is for our first day,” Tate said.
“I’ll take a shot now and the bottle back to my place.”
“Where you holing up?” Tate asked.
“Monthly apartment rental,” I said. “I have a place west, right on the coast. Nice and calm. All for me. When I travel, I hit hotels or apartments.”
“What a fucking life,” Tate said. He poured each of us a shot. “You ever thinking about settling and opening a shop?”
“All the time,” I said. “But then I travel to a new city. New people. New friends. New women.”
“Cheers to that,” Tate said.
I drank my shot and it tasted like fire. I wish I had that first woman back here. She tasted like honey. A nice little tattoo of a heart with some vines on the right side of her hip. Then I got between her legs and made sure she’d never forget my name.
“Why don’t you meet some of us down at Little Mikey’s?” Tate offered. “You can get to know that guys better.”
I nodded, considering it.
That was when my back pocket vibrated.
I grabbed my phone and saw a text from an unknown number.
It was three words. And it changed my goddamn life forever.
I need you.
Chapter 4
STEPH
*MONTHS AGO *
He promised me heaven, and then gave it to me. I rarely went to fancy clubs but my best friend at the time insisted I check out a new club
. I did. And there was Jon. Suit and tie, looking like he was posing for one of those nonsense cologne commercials. He took to me and whispered in my ear that heaven was waiting. For some reason - maybe the expensive drinks - I took to him. He was a protector and I was used to being protected.
My father died six months before I met Jon. I’m not sure if my father ever really loved me but he always made me feel protected. Sometime in a good way. Sometimes in a bad way. But when he died I felt so alone and lost that when Jon swooped down at me, I took to it.
His life was big, fast, and always seemed fun.
The fun included anything I wanted. Clothes. Jewelry. A car. A fancy apartment. It was like I hit the lottery. Right up until I found out that Jon was tied into drugs. Of course he was. I never questioned his money or his power. But the second I found out who he really was, that’s when everything changed.
It was only a matter of time when I became something sort of disposable to him.
I needed a way out… and there was only one person I could rely on.
Chapter 5
TAZ
As if my life couldn’t get anymore fucking crazy, I stood next to my car and called the number that had text me. I figured it had to be some kind of fucking prank call. No way it could be…
“Taz,” her sweet voice said.
I could tell she was crying. She was hurt. She was upset.
The fire of anger exploded inside me.
“Steph,” I said. It was the first time I muttered her name in years. “Is this for real? Are you okay?”
“Yes and no,” she said.
“What’s wrong?”
“Can you… come get me?”
“Where are you?”
She rattled off some address to some building. I quickly realized she was closer than I ever thought possible. All these fucking years between us and she was just forty goddamn minutes east of me.
