No Treble Allowed: A Straight Wicked Novel

“Get back to sleep, babe. I’m sorry I woke you, I needed to hear your voice.” Something in his tone made me suddenly wide awake.
“You doing okay? Still talking to your sponsor?” Worry seeped into my thoughts.
“Yeah, babe. I’m good. It was a rough day, that’s all. I’m okay. Promise.”
Hesitant to hang up now that he’d gotten me worried, I lingered on the phone. “Promise me you’ll call me or your sponsor if it gets too bad. Or at the very least, talk with Levi.”
Silence. “Yeah, Stell, I promise.”
“Okay.” Nervous, I continued to hold the phone to my ear, staring up at the dark ceiling.
“I gotta go, baby.” His voice was soft but insistent.
Reluctantly, I let him go. “All right. I love you, Logan.”
“I love you too, Stella. Bye, beautiful.”
“Bye.” Dammit, now not only did I feel like shit, I was worried about him too. Forcing my aching body out of bed, I shuffled to the fridge to fill my water. Besides having a manuscript I needed to finish editing, I was now bound and determined to get better so I could be there for him.
Slippers dragging along the floor, I made my way back to bed, drinking as I used the wall as a crutch. Promising to do better with water the next day, I snuggled under the covers and promptly fell asleep.
Dreams filled with a sexy bass player had me floating through the night, and I woke with a smile on my face.
Each day I guzzled water and slept half the day away.
Slowly, I got better, but I only had the first manuscript halfway completed when they asked me for a favor to try to get another one done. There was no way I could travel while I was still not at 100 percent and get the edits done.
Home I stayed.
Logan called me after each concert and during their travel time. This was a busy part of their tour and they were performing almost every night. They maybe had two or three days in between concert venues, but that was for traveling.
For several shows they were opening for some well-established big name bands. They were really excited about that and I was happy for them. But it was a grueling schedule. Ten to twelve shows a month, then they’d have a break for almost a month before they hit Europe.
That would be seventeen shows in barely over a month once they hit Spain.
Logan really wanted me to go to Europe with them. If I stayed here most of the time they were in the States, I would get all the edits I had scheduled done and then I could work on the other edits during the European leg.
When my phone rang and Logan’s smiling face lit up my screen, I knew he must be on the bus and had probably recently woken up. “Hey, sexy. How was your night’s sleep?”
“Ugh! It was absolute shit. The roads going through Louisiana must be the worst damn roads in America. I think my fillings rattled loose.” Laughing at his exaggeration, I sipped on my coffee as I hit save on the manuscript I’d been working on.
“Well, I’m sorry to hear that. Your bed was comfy cozy last night, though lonely as hell.” A broad smile stretched my face as I teased him.
He groaned. “Aww rub it in, why don’t you? Not only do you have the better bed, you’re in it instead of snuggled with me in one of these bunks.”
“You guys have memory foam mattresses. You act like you’re sleeping on a bed of nails.” I giggled.
“Well, it might as well be without you to hold,” he grumped.
“Sounds like someone rolled out on the wrong side of the bunk.” Snickering at my twisted humor, I covered my mouth so he didn’t hear me.
“Ha. Ha. At least you sound a million times better than when you left. When are you coming back?”
Huffing an exhale, I rubbed the back of my neck. “As soon as I get caught up. It should be another couple of weeks, and I’ll be good to go.”
“Damn, baby, that means it will have been over a month by the time I see you again.” It was easy to visualize his puppy dog eyes.
“Wah-fucking-wah. Did you take his balls with you when you left, Stella?” Levi shouted over Logan, and then all the guys could be heard in the background giving him shit for being a “pussy-whipped motherfucker.”
“Christ, like you and Levi have any room to talk.” He must’ve been talking to Dominic, because as far as I knew, Aiden only had a flavor-of-the-month. Or should I say, flavor-of-the-city?
“Tell them to be quiet, you’re talking to your still sick wife.”
“What? I thought you were feeling better?” Worry was heavy in his voice.
“I am, you dolt. But they don’t need to know that.” Rolling my eyes at him as I smirked, I leaned back in my chair. I was still a little weak, but way better than before.
The sounds of the guys talking diminished into the background. There was a slight rustling, and I guessed he was walking. “You heading to the back of the bus?”
“Yeah. What are the chances I could get you to FaceTime with me? I need to see you. Like really see you.” Pure seduction poured from his mouth, and I pressed my thighs together.
“Logan, I can’t! I look awful!” I’d been a super slob and I was in my pink fuzzy pajama bottoms and white tank top. Glancing down, I noticed a small coffee stain too.
“Don’t care. I’m calling you back.” He ended the call.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Rushing to the bedroom to at least change my top, I got a little dizzy and had to grab the doorframe. The phone started to ring as I was struggling to pull a clean camisole over my head, something that was a little sexier than the plain white ribbed tank I’d had on earlier. My hair would have to stay in the mess it was.
“Hey!” Winded, I answered his call to his grinning face reflected back at me.
“You don’t have a bra on.” It was said matter-of-factly, but had my nipples pebbling to stand out even more prominently against the thin fabric of the cami. Why had I thought it was a better option than the tank?
Rolling my eyes at him to hide how turned on I was just from seeing him run his teeth over his bottom lip as he sprawled across the bed in the back of the bus.
“Don’t roll your eyes, let me see better.” Why I gave in to him, I didn’t know, but I did every time.
Narrowing my eyes, I studied his image. “Are you touching yourself?”
He laughed. “You can say it, you know. Ask me.”
“I did.” I knew what he was getting at, but I stubbornly held my tongue.
“Ask me, ‘Logan, are you jacking your shit while you’re talking to me?’” he said in a falsetto voice. “Why yes, Stella, as a matter of fact I am. The sight of your fucking nipples poking through that silky material is making me want to fuck the hell out of you.” The last was said in his own voice.
“Oh my God.” Knowing there wasn’t a single soul in the apartment didn’t assuage my embarrassment.
“Yeah, that’s exactly what I want to hear out of you as I slide inside your wet pussy.”
“Christ, Logan. Stop! Someone will hear you!” Mortified that the guys might know what he was doing while taking to me, my face burned.
“You think I give a fuck? I’ve heard them actually fucking their women often enough. Lay down on the bed.” His commanding tone had me wanting to please him.
Despite my embarrassment, I did as he asked.
“Stella! You didn’t make the bed this morning,” he joked in mock disappointment.
Trying not to smile, I tossed his answer back at him. “I was just going to get back in it later anyway.”
A combination between a laugh and a groan carried across the connection, and he propped the phone where I could see his hand wrapped tightly around his thick length with the silver barbells peeking between his fingers.
“Fuck,” I whispered.
“Touch yourself where I can see you.” Husky, his instructions were not a request.
“But….”
“Do. It.” His chest was rising and falling faster, his hand moving. A glistening drop appeared at
the tip of his thick cock, and I couldn’t help the whimper that escaped me. Torn between wanting to taste it and wanting him shoving himself inside me, I was a mess.
Before I even realized what I was doing, my fingers were gliding through my slippery wetness. The sound filled the quiet room.
“Jesus, yeah, like that. Lift your hips and push those pants down so I can see your fingers sliding in and out of that pussy.” His eyes were heavy lidded. “Fuck, I miss you. Miss the feel of sliding deep into that hot, wet cunt.”
Gasping at his vulgarity, the increased creamy wetness coating my palm as I slipped two fingers in and out of my opening contradicted my shock. I was so damn turned on, the slightest pressure from the heel of my hand to my clit would make me explode.
My only answer was a whisper of a moan.
“I can hear how wet you are for me. Come on your hand, then show it to me.” Oh my God, there was no way. “Do it, Stella. Rub that pussy until that creamy come coats your hand.”
I sucked in a breath. “I can’t.”
“Yes, you can. Do it for me.” Softly, he coaxed me. Crooning encouragement to me, he kept my eyes locked on the clear precum seeping out of the end of his cock and over his fingers. As I watched the glistening liquid spread over his fingers, the pressure built until I pulsed around my fingers and cried out his name. “Logan!”
Slowly, I squeezed and circled, drawing out the delicious pulses that I’d cultivated. My heart rate raced and took forever to slow.
“That was fucking beautiful. Show me. Show me what you did for me.” Shamelessly, I withdrew my fingers and held my trembling hand up so he could see the creamy come all over my fingers. “Now put your fingers in your mouth and suck them.”
Eyes bugging, I choked. “No way!”
His eyes narrowed. “I said put your fingers in that fucking gorgeous mouth. Taste yourself. I want to see you do it because I can’t.”
Realizing he was frantically stroking by that time, I was completely mesmerized, and I did as he said. No sooner had I laid my fingers on my tongue than he groaned and I watched thick ropes of white come shoot out of his cock. Fascinated, I watched as they landed on his flat stomach and down his fingers where they still gripped and worked his length.
“Jesus fucking Christ. I can’t believe we’ve never done that before. That was hot as fuck.” He was as winded as I was. Grabbing a black T-shirt, he wiped himself off with a wicked grin the entire time.
“That was, um, wow. It was intense.” Even though I’d satisfied myself, my nipples were begging to have his lips wrapped around them. “However, while that was good and sexy as hell, it had nothing on the real thing. Now I want you more than ever.”
“When did you say you could be here?” he asked with a tip of his lips.
“Not soon enough.” I heard a banging in the background and muffled shouts. “Everything okay? What were they saying?”
He chuckled. “Uh, you don’t wanna know. Everything’s fine, but I gotta run. The guys wanted to work on some new stuff.”
“Okay. Miss you.” Seeing him and hearing his voice was better than nothing, but nothing beat the real thing.
“Miss you too, baby. Can’t wait to see you again.” Lingering briefly, we finally ended our connection.
Glancing around the empty apartment, I realized how quiet and lonely it was there without Logan. At least I’d gotten well-rested after being sick. And I’d gotten work done, sure. But I missed lying in his arms as the bus rocked us to sleep. I missed feeling him and kissing him.
Linda and Levi’s fiancée had stopped by to check on me but I didn’t really know them very well so it wasn’t the same. Autumn was dealing with sick kiddos, so she had only called to check on me. It was weird stepping into a ready-made family.
Though I’d had them as visitors, I hadn’t gone out much because I didn’t want to risk running into my parents. Immature and crazy, maybe. Yet I couldn’t help it.
I worked on my current edit for a few hours, then took a break to have some lunch.
As I sat there chewing on my sandwich, I stared out the windows. Watching the city I had thought I’d never see again, I made a decision.
I was going to finish the current manuscript I was editing. Then I was going to surprise him by flying out and catching up to them as soon as possible. I was better, and I needed to see him. There was no reason I couldn’t work on the next edit on the bus.
Having made the decision, excitement rippled through me as I started packing. Once my bag was stuffed full, I set it aside and returned to my computer.
I edited well into the night before finishing up and sending it off to my boss.
Dipping into the generous “allowance” Logan had insisted I have despite my adamant refusal, I bought a ticket that almost made me vomit, it was that expensive for a last-minute flight, and I couldn’t believe he’d done it for me more than once. The one I chose was the cheapest option because it had a layover and it was still a lot.
Excitement kept me from sleeping much, so I was up hours before I needed to head to the airport. I didn’t tell Linda, Poppy, or Autumn because I didn’t want to risk they would tell their guys, who may open their mouths and ruin the surprise.
During my layover, I called Logan so he wouldn’t try to FaceTime me. I told him I was in the grocery store and had bad signal. Snickering to myself at my ingenuity, I muted my phone when the overhead announcements hit.
“I’m fucking exhausted. The short time you were with me on the bus spoiled me and now I can’t sleep without you. I hope I can stay awake enough to not fuck up tonight.”
“You’ll do great, babe. Drink an energy drink and think of me naked.” Grinning, I ignored the guy next to me who gave me a laughing side-eye.
“Jesus. You can’t say shit like that. Now I’ll be out there performing with a fucking chub. I’m so getting even with you for that when I finally see you.” Though he tried to sound grumpy and put out, he laughed.
“Well, you’ll forget about that by the time you see me. So I feel pretty safe.” No, it wasn’t going to be as long as he thought, but he’d be so shocked to see me he wouldn’t have it in him to get after me. Then again, if he was going to spank me, that might be okay.
Oh my God, he was becoming a bad influence on me.
“Mmhmm, I have a memory like an elephant. Try me.” We both laughed.
“Okay, well, I need to finish up here. Have a good show, I love you.” My layover was almost over and I wanted to get something to eat. My stomach was growling, but I didn’t want him to hear me ordering.
“I love you too, beautiful. Talk to you after the show.”
I barely had time to get my food and eat before I was boarding the plane.
My flight would land shortly before the concert ended, so I planned to show up at the venue, drop my suitcase in the bus, and meet them backstage. Heart racing, I tried to doze on the plane, but it was a hopeless cause.
Reading was as nonproductive, so I didn’t even bother trying to edit a damn thing. By the time the plane landed, I was so wound up I couldn’t sit still.
It seemed crazy that a short time ago, that angel-faced broken boy was a schoolgirl crush and then only a friend. Everything had happened so fast, and then finding out about his addictions had pulled a rug out from underneath me.
I’d questioned whether I wanted that in my life. I mean, my track record with addicts wasn’t the best. But dammit, I loved him.
He’d been doing well before I left, and I hadn’t heard anything in the gossip rags or from his family to tell me otherwise. I was so damn proud of him.
By the time I got to the venue, showed my credentials, and then had the security team let me in the bus, I was tired but trembling. I couldn’t wait to see him.
Rushing backstage, I almost ran smack dab into Aiden as I rounded the corner.
“Hey, babe! We didn’t know you were coming tonight. Logan didn’t mention a word. What a little fucker.” Aiden’s grin told me he was jokin
g and that his beef with Logan was at least somewhat smoothed over. I was still a little pissed off at Addison.
It was the fact that she tried to take advantage of him in his inebriated state that pissed me off. Then again, she was young. Not much younger than me, but still young.
The rest of the guys were following behind Aiden and all gave me a quick hug.
“Well, he didn’t know. I wanted to surprise him.” I peeked around them to see down the hall. “Where is he?”
Dominic chuckled. “He’s back in the changing room, probably trying to call you, as usual. Surprised your phone isn’t ringing right now.”
“Oh shit! It’s still on airplane mode.” Eyes wide, I pulled my lips in between my teeth.
They all laughed. “Well, he’s back there, fourth door on the right.” Levi thumbed over his shoulder in the direction they’d come from.
Giving them all another hug, I promised to see them shortly, after I found my husband.
“Uh, sure you will. We won’t wait with bated breath for y’all.” Aiden smirked as they continued down the hall.
Tossing a wave their direction, I hurried to where they’d said he was.
Jittery and grinning like a fool, I burst through the door. “Surprise!”
Only the joke was on me. Because sitting in front of me was some slutty bitch snorting lines of what I could only assume were coke off a glass-top table. Sitting in a chair perpendicular to her was my husband. He’d been tipping a fifth of whiskey back until I bounced in with my grand entrance.
Mouth hanging open and looking a sick shade of green was the love of my life, seemingly half-sloshed and possibly high as fuck. My heart shattered.
“Dream On”—Blacktop Mojo
When that door flew open and I heard Stella’s voice, I nearly died. Not because I was doing anything with Mina, and I’d had no intention of it, but I was drinking and it looked fucking bad.
“Stella. It’s not what it looks like.” Panic was setting in. Both that I’d been caught and that Mina was there.
“Who the fuck are you?” Mina was already blitzed out of her mind. Security had let her in because she still had a pass that no one had thought to get back from her after we’d ended.
