“You mean a buffet of food sources? How considerate of you.”
“No one will dare touch them. They will have to be satisfied with a sit down dinner. We will spare no expense. The people will love it.”
“I would much rather wed in quite ceremony,” he said with a grimace.
“You know that’s impossible. We won’t escape all the pomp and circumstance that must come with a royal wedding.”
“Very well, but I get to choose the honeymoon.”
“Deal! Only, make it somewhere with beaches. I want to bask in the sun.”
“I was thinking perhaps the coast of Greece.”
“Mmm. Sounds divine.”
“It will be, whatever I choose. I will pamper and spoil you. As you deserve.”
“You know, I could get very used to this kind of treatment.”
“See that you do,” he said with a smile.
“I’ll come to expect it. Then what will you do?”
“Give you more. And more. You will want for nothing for the rest of your days.”
“That’s a lot of days,” she whispered, her eyes shining with emotion.
“God I hope so.”
He kissed her once more, laid his head down beside hers, closed his eyes and fell asleep, content in the knowledge that she was his…and always would be.
