Lawful Overdose Page 12

“Home, as in your home, too? You’ll move in with me?”

  “Yes.”

I barely get the words out before he’s tossing me over his shoulder. My ass is in his face and my head is upside down, getting a glorious view of Jaxon's tight ass. I slap his cheeks hard.

  “Put me down!” I scream.

“Oh, I’ll put you down. When we get home I’m going to put you down and fuck you silly, claiming what’s mine. Once you’ve recovered I’m going to devour every inch of you, slowly. I’m going to make love to my girl, in her new home, and show her how much I love her. You okay with that?”

His words have started the fire back in my belly.

  “Yes,” I practically moan.

  “You’re mine, Tessa. Forever.”

And because I want to be his forever, because I can’t imagine my life without him, I can’t imagine losing him; I say the only words that are true.

  “Yes, I’m yours. Forever.”

I just didn’t know my forever was going to end so quickly.

  Chapter Eleven

I’ll Let You Pick Where You Put It

“It’s so cold,” I shiver, my teeth clattering against each other.

“I’m sorry, sunshine. The landlord said someone’s coming out to fix the heat today. Come here.”

He reaches his arms around my stomach and pulls me into his strong body.

  “I’ll keep you warm.”

It’s the beginning of November, but it feels like the dead of winter. The weather is so unpredictable in Illinois. Just last week it was Halloween and sixty-five degrees outside. I’ll have to wear my winter coat today to go outside.

I’ve been living with Jaxon for two months now and I couldn’t be happier. It only took a week being here to realize I made the right decision. I woke up that morning to a phone call from my mother. I hardly ever spoke to her and she never called me, which should have been my first warning that the phone call would be anything but pleasant.

We spoke briefly before she mentioned what she really called for. The anniversary of my sister’s death was the following week and she needed me to come home for it. When I explained that I couldn’t and I had class, she started yelling at me. She said I was worthless, ungrateful, uncaring, and void of emotion. All of these insults were fine. If I’m being totally honest, I was just happy she seemed passionate about something again Even if that something was belittling her daughter.

It didn’t get bad until she said the one thing she knew would break me. She said it was my fault Arabella died. She said it was my fucking fault and the least I could do was come home and pay my respects with my family.

  My mother was unbelievable.

She never could look at things level headed. Her and my father never once acknowledged the role they played in Bella’s death. And truthfully, if you really think about it, only one person put the drugs in Bella’s mouth, and that was Bella. She died because of her actions, so if anyone is truly to blame, it’s her.

As my mother continued to scream at me, Jaxon walked in and saw the tears falling from my eyes. He moved quickly and took the phone out of my hands, hanging up on my mother.

“What’s wrong, baby?” He asked me.

I told him everything. I repeated as much of the conversation as I could remember and then I cried in his arms for hours, until I fell asleep from exhaustion.

When I woke up, he had my coffee and ice cream waiting for me.

“Jaxon, it’s four in the afternoon and I ate breakfast this morning.”

He placed the cup of coffee in my hand, “I know, but you’ve had a rough day and coffee and ice cream seems to make you very happy. Besides, I’m a rule breaker.”

His gesture meant the world to me and I knew if I was back at my apartment when this happened, I would wallow for days and then do something completely stupid.

I had someone who cared about me now, who loved me, and I wouldn’t let go of that for anything.

A week later, on the anniversary of my sister’s death, Jaxon didn’t leave my side. We skipped class and spent the day together. I told him stories of my childhood, I let him know all about Bella, and we even did a few activities I used to do with her. He never once complained and he seemed genuinely happy to learn more about me.

Now it’s the beginning of November, I’m freezing my ass off, and I have to get ready for work, but I’m too content lying in Jaxon’s arms.

“You’re beautiful, so beautiful I feel bad for other women,” he whispers into my hair.

“You only think that because your thoughts are tainted by your love for me.”

“That’s not true. I thought it the first time I saw you. I was sitting with Ryan at my brother’s restaurant. I watched you talking to another table. The woman sitting down said something to make you laugh and when you smiled, I felt my body go warm inside. It’s cliché, I know, but I knew in that moment I had to meet you. I got my phone out and sent a text to Ryder, asking him to have you wait on us.”

I move my head to look up at him, “What?”

“Yep. That’s the reason you were at my table that night. I knew if I told him I was interested in you, he would never send you over. He probably would have made you go home for the night, so I made some bullshit excuse about Ryan thinking you were hot and wanting to check out your ass.”

“Wow. Ryder lied to me. He told me he only trusted me at your table. I don’t know if I should be flattered that you went to that trouble to get me to notice you, or pissed that Ryder sent me over there thinking Ryan wanted to check out my ass.”

Jaxon laughs, “To be fair, it’s a great ass. He probably didn’t want anyone to miss out on such a beautiful peace of work.”

I feel his lips on mine and I’m suddenly not cold anymore. I want him, now.

His hands drift down my chest, over my stomach, and around my waist until they land on each of my butt cheeks.

  He squeezes them firmly, “Perfect.”

His fingers trail slowly down my crack, teasing my entrance before moving further between my legs. He makes contact with my pussy and plunges two fingers deep inside.

“Jaxon,” I moan, clawing my fingers deep into his shoulder blades.

I feel his fingers leave my body just as fast as they entered it, and I want to scream in protest. He flips me over, onto my stomach, and pulls my hips back to meet his groin. I can feel his erection against my ass.

He places one hand on my hips and his other on his cock, placing it right at my core. I can feel the head teasing my pussy before he plunges forward, hitting me so deep, filling me completely.

  “Fuck, yes!” I scream.

"That’s right, baby. Give me that pussy.” He slaps my ass and I feel the vibrations all the way to my clit.

  “Are you mine, Tessa?”

  Hell yes, I’m yours.

“Yes,” I squeal, unable to control my voice.

“Is every part of you mine?”

  “Yes.”

“That’s right, baby. Your lips are mine, your tits are mine, your clit is mine, your pussy is mine, and your ass… is mine.”

I feel him move his finger around the puckered entrance to my ass and he slowly enters me. It feels foreign, and surprisingly good. I moan at the sensation his finger gives me, wanting more.

Jaxon starts to thrust his finger faster as his cock pumps inside me. It’s too much. I’m on sensory overload and I scream out the most intense orgasm of my life. Jaxon thrusts inside me a few more times before I feel his body leave mine, and a warm liquid squirts against my lower back.

Jaxon has just staked claim to my body, and I loved every second of it.

His hands move and I’m surprised when I feel his fingers move across my back and into his cum. I’m about to ask him what he’s doing, when I feel his finger move back to my ass. He rubs his cum over my entrance and plunges a lubricated finger inside.

  “Is this mine, Tessa?”

I’m shocked at his tone, his need to dominate me.
It scares me, yet consumes me. I realize I want what he’s implying.

  “Yes, it’s yours.”

“When can I have it, baby? I want it and I want it bad. I promise you’ll want it, too.”

God, his words are turning me on. My nipples are hard and I can feel my core starting to throb in need.

“It’s yours, whenever you want it."

“Good,” he says firmly and I feel his finger leave my dark place. He moves to lie next to me on the bed and pulls me into his side. “Soon.”

Soon. That four letter promise send chills throughout my body. I love this man, and the hidden desires he brings out of me are never ending.

  ***

I shower and get ready for work, putting sweatpants on over my uniform. I’ll wear these until I get inside the restaurant. It’s too cold to be walking around outside in booty shorts. I grab my purse and head down to the parking lot to get in my Beetle.

I’m surprised, as always, when it starts with ease for me. I thought for sure this thing would break down on me as soon as the cold weather came, but she’s a beast and still purring. I pick up Piper from her apartment and we make our way to Ryder’s. I hear the phone go off, signaling a text from Jaxon.

“What the fuck is that?” Piper says in disgust.

  “My phone.”

  “Is that your ringtone?”

I laugh, “No, it’s my alert for when my man texts me.”

“Let me get this straight, every time he texts you, you hear a guy say ‘sexy’ in an obnoxious game show voice?”

  “Yep.”

  “Whatever floats your boat, honey.”

“Pipe, please check it and see what he wants.”

We hear 'sexy' again, indicating a second text from Jaxon. I pull into Ryder’s and park near the entrance.

“I think I’m going to be sick, your love sick crap is too much for me.”

She tosses the phone on my lap. I smile at her, loving her discomfort and pick my phone up to read the text.

  Jaxon: I love you

Jaxon: Gotta work late, sunshine. Have a good night at work and I’ll wake you when I get home. Be prepared, I’ll have a very long, hard present waiting for you. I’ll even let you pick where I put it.

I giggle at his flirtatious text and send him a quick one back.

Me: I love you, too. My ass will anxiously be awaiting your arrival. It’s about time you tapped that.

I hit send and almost immediately my phone goes off with another text.

Jaxon: You have me so hard right now. I may have to come into your work so you can fix it.

I smile at his eagerness before sending another text back.

Me: Don’t make promises you can’t keep.

Jaxon: Who said I couldn’t keep it? I may lose my job, but it would be worth it if it meant I got to fuck you.

Even through text he has me desperate for him. I can feel the dampness in my panties.

Me: You have me so horny right now

Jaxon: Where are you? Are you alone?

It’s only then that I remember Piper is still in the car with me. I look over at her and she is grinning wickedly at me.

“Don’t let me stop you. I’m enjoying reading your dirty texts back and forth, much better than your love declarations.”

I flush in embarrassment and send him a quick text.

Me: No, at work. Piper’s next to me so I should go

I go to put my phone in my purse when another text goes off.

Jaxon: You’re such a tease;) I love you. Call me or text me when you get home and we can finish what you started. I want you to play with yourself while I talk dirty to you.

I text back a quick “Ok” and walk into the restaurant with Piper.

  ***

The restaurant is dead. I’ve had only one table in the last three hours and Piper’s had two. We’re sitting at the bar with Ryder and Mikey, and I’m dreading the next three hours before we close.

“This blows,” Mikey says while twirling a shot glass in his hand. “No one’s coming in and Big E is having another one of his motel parties.”

Piper’s eyes light up in excitement before a frown takes over her face.

“Hey, how come no one let me know about the party?”

“That’s because you’re no fun anymore, Pipe. You’re tied down to that Ryan guy.”

“I am not,” she shouts. “I’m single, playing the field, and I still know how to have fucking fun.”

“Okay, okay,” Mikey backs off. “When we get out of here you can come up there with me. How about you, Trigger? You want to come out and party with us?”

I know I should probably go home, especially since I have a phone sex date, but I haven’t been to a party in weeks. I’m ashamed to say, but I kind of miss getting drunk and dancing until dawn.

  “Yeah, sure, I’m in.”

“Hell, yeah!” Piper’s more excited about this than I am.

“Ryder,” she says his name flirtatiously. “Do you think we could leave early to go hit up this party?”

I look at the clock above the bar. It’s a little after ten. If we’re dead now I can guarantee we’ll be dead until we close at one in the morning.

I can see Ryder contemplating his decision. “What the hell, just go.”

“What?” We all say in unison.

“You heard me,” he says, getting up from his chair. “We’re closing early. I’ll shut the place down, you kids go and have fun.”

Ryder always amazes me. Forty years from now, when I’m contemplating retirement and going over all the bosses I’ve had in my lifetime, I know he will still be my favorite.

“Thanks, Ryder,” I say, kissing him on the cheek. “If your brother shows up will you tell him where I am for me?”

  “Sure.”

The three of us get our things and get out of there before Ryder changes his mind. Piper and I go to get in my Beetle. When I turn the ignition it doesn’t start.

“Motherfucker!” I yell, trying to turn the key again.

“She’s dead, Tessa. It’s time to get out the rosary, say our prayers, and hope she’s accepted into car heaven.”

  “Ha ha,” I respond dryly.

I hear Mikey’s car pull up beside me. “You girls need a lift?”

We grab our belongings and hop into Mikey’s car.

“Thanks, Mikey. I think my car is officially done for.”

“No problem. Now let’s go party.”

  Chapter Twelve

  Betrayal

The party is out of control when we get there. Mikey has a hard time finding a place to park, so eventually he parks on a spot of open grass. We make our way inside, and I’m instantly aware of the men in the room’s eyes moving to Piper and I. That’s when I realize we’re still in our barely there uniforms and everyone else is completely covered because of the weather.

“Great, now we’re going to get hit on all night by drunk college idiots.”

I look over to Piper, but she doesn’t share my mood. “You’re right, it is great. I need to get laid, and by someone other than Ryan. Are you okay driving home alone with Mikey? I plan on staying out tonight.”

  “Sure, Pipe. Go get some.”

She kisses me on the cheek and then I lose her in the crowd. I’m not even sure what room she’s gone in.

“You want to get something to drink?” Mikey shouts over the noise.

“You don’t have to stay with me. Go have fun and we’ll meet up later.”

He looks at me puzzled. “I want to hang out with you, Trigger. Let’s go get a drink.”

I nod my head; happy to be around someone I’m comfortable with. I contemplate texting Jaxon to let him know where I am, but I decide not to bother him at work.

We make our way into the motel room filled with alcohol and Mikey makes us jaeger bombs.

  “That’s disgusting.”

  “C’mon Trigger, let’s have fun.”

He looks so happy and I don’t want to let him dow
n. I grab the shot from him, we clink our glasses together and I pour the liquid down my throat. I have to fight my gag reflexes when my body tries to reject the foul tasting mixture.

Mikey immediately starts to make two more shots and hands me over the full shot glass.

  “Where’s lover boy tonight?”

I smile, pretending not to notice his bitchiness towards my boyfriend.

  “He’s working.”

“Always working, doesn’t that get annoying?”

I clink my shot glass with his and drink before he can say anything else.

“He works hard, I think that’s admirable.”

He nods his head, not in agreement, but as if satisfied with what I said.

He goes to make a third round of jaeger bombs and hands me my glass.

“Last one, Mikey, then I’m switching to beer.”

  “Deal.”

We clink our glasses and I let the liquid go down my throat. This time it’s not as bad and I’m starting to feel slightly buzzed.

I watch Mikey move to the kegs and get us two cups of beer.

“Should we go look for Piper?” Mikey asks me.

“No, she’s on the prowl. Want to go check out the rooms? We can watch people and dance to the music.”

  “Lead the way.”

We pass the first two doors and move to go to the last room down the walkway. This is where the music is coming from and where everyone usually went to dance in the past. I’m about to walk in when I notice something out of the corner of my eye.

I turn around and see Jimmy... with Jaxon. They’re talking outside one of the motel rooms before they both walk in together. I still can’t believe my eyes.

“I thought you said he was working,” Mikey says from behind me.

“I thought he was,” I whisper, unable to focus on anything else, but that motel door.

I walk slowly towards it, like it’s calling me to the room. I’m not sure if Mikey is still behind me, but I don’t care. Jaxon lied to me. He said he was working, and he’s here with Jimmy. Something doesn’t add up. I continue my slow walk to the doorway, unable to get my legs to move any faster.
