"Leave Bing for me, Cash," Tek yelled just before most of the rest of the pack rode away.

Cash had called Abby over to Tek and Mari's place on the road, so she was there when they got there. The crew set up round the clock guards, just in case, and Abby did her best to take care of her best friend, who kept asking for Tek in a beaten down tone that had Abby really worried. She cleaned up the blood from Mari's wrists, where she had chewed a bit too enthusiastically as she was trying to free herself. She seemed as if she couldn't get warm, so she helped her into the shower to clean herself off, then wrapped her in a towel to get her dry before tucking her under the warm covers in her bedroom to sit and wait for Tek with her.
Tek arrived home after an hour or so and went straight towards the bedroom, thanking Cash and Abby along the way, but never hesitating as he made his way to his woman.
As soon as she heard his voice, Mari got out of bed and met him in the dining room, throwing herself at him and dissolving into tears. Both Cash and Abby had tears in their eyes as they watched the big man cup Mari's head, hold her close and begin to soothe her as only he could do.
"We'll be going now," Cash said. "The guys are going to be here twenty-four seven for a while, but they'll keep a respectful distance."
Tek nodded, but he was too involved with Mari to really respond. When they left, he was carrying her into their bedroom.
Tek bundled her back under the covers, only this time he stripped down and joined her, cuddling her against him and letting his hands rove everywhere over her, as if reassuring himself yet again that there weren't any injuries that she was hiding from him.
Other than the fact she was shaking like a leaf, she appeared to be fine, although he knew from personal experience that an episode like this would have lingering effects in her life. A traumatic experience could mar even the strongest person's psyche.
He had been so proud of her, though, when that door had rolled up and she had come out fighting. She hadn't just lain down and waited for them to kill her – which they most certainly would have, once they'd gotten whatever it was that they had wanted from the A-Os. She'd gotten herself free and had been prepared to fight for her life.
He chuckled a bit to himself. Maybe he should have turned her loose on the dregs of the Lights. Tek brushed her hair back from her face and kissed her. His warrior woman.
Mari surprised him by kissing him passionately back. He hadn't intended that they make love; he would have been very content just to have held her until she fell asleep. He just wanted to be near her. But she surprised him by almost becoming the aggressor, draping herself over his chest and kissing the breath out of him, then moving to straddle him.
Tek had been erect since she'd left that morning. It was a combination of always missing her, the adrenaline that had been pumping through his body for the majority of the day, and his joy at finding her – relatively – unharmed.
This was the first time she'd taken him from the top, and he wasn't sure whether he liked it. He preferred to be in control of their lovemaking, but the way she sank down onto him – wet and ready as always, despite the events of the day – had him reaching his hands up her back, encouraging her to take more of him, then settling them on her hips, where he did find a modicum of control.
And he discovered that he loved having her above him, leaning down to kiss him whenever she wanted, establishing her own rhythm that was slower than his, and thus much more tantalizing. She seemed to want to take her time, to love him as thoroughly as he always loved her, and her position had him filling her at an angle they hadn't discovered before.
Tek availed himself of the more open access to her breasts, and slipped his finger between her folds to flick her clit as she rode him, loving the way her moans doubled in volume immediately once he made contact with her prominent bud.
He could hear that she had become very close, very quickly, but caught her eyes and reminded, "You still need to wait for permission, you know."
