  Burks Fall – Is an incorporated village in the Almaguin Highlands region of Parry Sound District, Ontario, Canada.

  Canadore – A college / university that resides in North Bay.

  Cathodiem Guild – Guild that was situated on Gaia over a billion years ago. Guild was very powerful and had great influence with a seat on the Atlantean Council.

  Chain Quest – A type of quest that contains multiple parts.

  Chalk River – Is a town in Ontario that is near a nuclear research laboratory. A few days after the Ether crash, the converted golem from the plant melts down, prompting a red quest.

  Chidi – An emotional representation of a person. A conflicted chidi often means the person is going through emotional turmoil or is an evil person. Good or bad deeds are often reflected on the chidi. Or emotional struggles as seen by our hero.

  Choo Sentani – A type of blanket used by Elven merchants. It interacts with the system in the bazaar and can temporarily transfer items across the shops to be viewed or inspected.

  Citizen Accessible Shop – An addon for a shop. This allows an assistant to scan through the merchant’s wares that reside in a shop and purchase items on the behest of individuals. This limits interactions and messages that can be transmitted through spies. Still, it doesn’t stop them…

  Class Ranks – Apprentice, Journeyman, Master, Epic, Legenday (Read Ether Flows to learn more)

  Construct Command – A skill that Adam Weatherbee uses to control Golems.

  Corsair (Jack Jameson) – Sociopathic leader of the Ottawa Militia. Created an inner group of psychopaths who followed his orders to kill survivors instead of allowing monsters to gain more Etherience. Died during the Ottawa Exodus Struggle

  Crafter – A skill or class a person can have that is for making equipment or consumables that will aid individuals.

  Crom – An ancient being from Gelthisar. Whether it is a god or a very powerful combatant is unclear.

  Crystals – Crystallized Ether. Crystals is the short form. A type of currency.

  Crushed Ether – A component needed for enchanting. Derived from Crystallized Ether.

  Cuppa Macht Leaf – A type of leaf from a Cuppa Macht Tree. It is essentially a collapsible cup that contains a biological reaction to cool liquids. The tree is from a dessert region.

  Cursed Regalia – Items with counterproductive enchantments that may hinder the user.

  Dahrix – Leader of the Mechano-Lords guild. All black metal with Damascus steel filigree. Despite his mechanical body, he is a hot head.

  Dario – The current Guild Prime, who runs the guild collective. It is an elected position and he seems to be a bit too wild to be behind a desk.

  Dark Cloak – A skill learned by Rockland Barkclay. This cloak hides our hero in a dark fog and also will help to redirect attacks away from him.

  Dark Mend – A skill learned by Rockland Barkclay. It uses shadows and darkness to rearrange broken bones and knit back together flesh.

  Debuff – An effect that makes a character weaker: a negative status effect.

  Delta – A sapient golem who is a member of the Ottawa Knights. He was created from a historical building known as the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. An intellectual who prefers logic and deductive reasoning to solve problems. Master-Knight of Gaia

  Delving Dungeon – A type of dungeon that digs down into the ground creating descending levels with increasing difficulty.

  Derik – A devious human who was a member of the initial group that is saved from the Onikuma by Rocky. Rocky banishes Derik during the invasion of the Grotto by Apothis and Frank. Derik’s banishment is rescinded and he joins the new council, under probation.

  Diamond Chip – A type of currency. This is the lowest form of currency. 10 Diamond Chips = 1 Ruby Mark.

  Dmitri Gausse – A Russian mobster stationed at the docks in Florida when the first wave struck. He has been crucial in the Floridians survival. He helps our heroes disable the beacon.

  Doran Hetch – A brother who makes a horrible decision to kill humans to save himself. Rocky lets them live but tells them to never be seen again.

  Dorset – Is a small community located on the boundary between the Lake of Bays Municipality in Muskoka District and the Algonquin Highlands Township in Haliburton County, Ontario, Canada.

  Dragonscale – Usually collected from young dragons and prized for their extreme strength. Dragonscale is considered the strongest bio material in the known Etherverse.

  Draksus – Leader of the Ottawa territory. Albino, devastatingly large, and strong.

  Dungeon – A creation of Planetary gods to filter Ether to Essence. Each dungeon is rules by a Core that has a personality.

  Enchanter’s Kit – An item purchased in the shop. Contains a Pen, Mortar and Pestle. This item is a puzzle that Rockland must solve.

  Enchanting – A crafting skill that is of immense value. Enchanting uses Glyphs or Runes to circulate Ether and create powerful effects.

  Envenom – A skill in the first tier of the Chimera Knight Class.

  Epsilon – A sapient golem who appears to be the leader of the Ottawa Knights. He was created from a historical building known as the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. Extremely devoted to his group of golems and wishes to unite all sapient golems and create a community for them. Master-Knight of Gaia

  Ernest Ford – Dockmaster. Ernest is in charge of the Floridians and has accepted a Mechanolord conversion seed to help keep them safe. Once he sets up the beacon he is essentially a puppet of Dahrix.

  Essence – Essence is the primary resource of a Planetary God. It is filtered from Ether through living beings but can also be recovered from dead organisms. Gaia wakes to find almost all of her vast stores pillaged (oil).

  Ether – Cosmic energy of the universe. It is the primary unfiltered raw power that allows life and Planetary Gods to form.

  Ether Assisted Protection – A type of protection that helps fledgling Territories. This protection will help turn away powerful monsters.

  Ether Converters – A converter that changes Ether into electricity.

  Ether Manipulation – A skill that allows individuals to manipulate the Ether internally and externally. Linked with Ether Channels and both have been hidden from Sela during her lifetime.

  Ether Pool – A pool of power that skills draw upon to initiate. Synonymous with Mana pool from games.

  Ether Tech Helm – A very powerful type of armor. Combines the mechanical advantages of robotic gear with enchantments of Bio Enhanced gear.

  Ethernet – A type of global information system used in ancient times. Synonymous with internet.

  Exiles – A group of individuals who attacked Rocky during book 2. They were exiled from the Grotto but allowed to hunt in the safety of the Territory.

  Fernicular – A type of plant that need Ether to cultivate.

  Fire Tornado – A descriptor of the Firestorm skill.

  Fireball – A skill Zippo learns in book one.

  Firestorm – A skill Zippo learns in book two.

  Fennel – A herbalist lady that is mixing ingredients and causes a massive plume of smoke to billow forth outside of the Crafters Hall.

  Flatiron – A golem converted from the Flatiron Building in New York.

  Florida – A state in the US.

  Floridians – The people in the US. As categorized by other humans from earth.

  Flow Ridians – The humans of unknown origin as categorized by the Guild Collective.

  Flunge – A term used in fencing for a flying lunge.

  Frankie Cocozza – Psychologist to the Militiamen on the trip to Algonquin Valley and continues his duties in the Grotto. Turns out he was also the Psychologist for Corsair and his cronies. Apprentice-Psychologist

  Gaia – Gaia is a Planetary God, specifically the Earth. Each planet is alive and in constant battle with other planets to acquire Essence. What they win if they have the most is still a mystery.

  Gaian Plane – The main
reality in which our hero resides.

  Garnel – A Karacy Salesman in the Aretrean Bazaar. Karacy are often referred to as Dwarfs by other races.

  Garry – An older man saved from Kingston. Becomes a member of Adam’s Elites off page.

  Gamma – A sapient golem who is a member of the Ottawa Knights. He was created from a historical building known as the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. Hot headed and rash, but also surprisingly good at building. Works hard to help the survivors in the Grotto despite his early complaints to the contrary. Master-Knight of Gaia

  Gaston – A reluctant healer who wishes to be known as a hero but too scared to actually venture out to fight. He hangs around the military but is not one of them. He also swindles citizens out of Crystals for healing that isn’t needed.

  Geb – Leader of Bio-Cult and one of the youngest members in a leadership role of a guild on Helion Prime. Likes to call people ‘young man’ despite her younger age.

  Gelthisar – A planetary God.

  Gerard – A man from Brent. Some sort of Tank class. Was trapped for most of a week inside LFD.

  Glyphs – Another name for Enchanting Runes.

  Golden Horseshoe – A term used to describe the Greater Toronto Area. It resembles a horseshoe around Lake Ontario.

  Golems – A clever way Gaia has orchestrated to recover a higher percentage of her pillaged Essence. Golems are created from any structure that has no ownership claimed upon it twenty-four hours after the first Ether wave.

  Gortuk – A type of monster whose skin was used to create leather that was later turned into a Jerkin of Protection.

  Greater Territorial Perk – A benefit that Gaia bestowed for completion of a very difficult Red Quest.

  Grotto – Referring to Algonquin Grotto.

  Guild Collective – A collection of small guilds that joined together to try to gain a semblance of power that planetary militaries and larger guilds have. They have taken and occupied Helion Prime and are now trying to extend to Gaia.

  Guild of Mechano-Lords – Patron of Corsair. Headquarters on Guild Collaborative controlled world of Helion Prime. The leader of the guild is Dahrix.

  Guild Prime – Is the leader of the Guild Collective. Currently Dario.

  Guild Tent – An item purchased from Garnell. This tent gives a Territory access to guild features at half efficacy without building a true Guild Hall. The guild tower replaces this tent, even skewering it and creating a tent flag for a time.

  HALO – High Altitude Low Open

  Heartstring – A very powerful item that is created from a Dragon Heart. It can be used to control dungeons, people and is a legendary component.

  Hectar – Lieutenant Captain – ‘Alchemy is the Basis of All’. Has been running tests on gasoline and his discoveries lead to him being forced to report an emergency finding to the Guild Collaborative prime.

  Helion Prime – A planet controlled by the Guild Collective. Originally the home of Amelia Nanospark and her people.

  Hollow – A derogatory term used to describe mindless Golems.

  Huntsville – Is the largest town in the Muskoka Region of Ontario, Canada.

  I-Beam – A metal support beam that looks like an I from the bottom or top.

  Initial Increase – A very popular enchantment for tanks. This allows the individual to stand and take a charge from creatures much heavier than themselves.

  Initiation Gear – A set of gear that Beastkin use to help them through their trials. All Beastkin must complete the trials to become adults. Due to high death rates this gear was created to increase success rates of participants.

  Iridescent Kobold – A race of Kobold’s in the Ether Verse. Kobolds are small dragonkin or lizardfolk.

  Jack Wareham – A member of the A-Team. A rotund man who is constantly jolly and supportive. He unfortunately dies at the hands of Rockland, when no other options are left to him. Apprentice-Trapper

  Jason Jackson – 15-year-old young man that Rocky met while entering Ottawa. Family was massacred by Corsair’s goons. Has become a member of the party and is fixated on getting stronger. Changes his name to Zippo to distance himself from the tragedy. Red-Fire Mage

  Jessibihr Windfall – A merchant in the Aretrean Bazaar. Sells skill scrolls primarily. Rockland dislikes him from his actions in book one. Ripped off Rockland in book one.

  Joe Flacca – Member of the Ottawa Militia. Becomes its General after the fall of Corsair. Quickly becomes Zippo’s best friend but dies sacrificing himself for Rocky. Special-Trooper. Died during the Place of Power Contestation.

  Joaquim Smith – Joaquim Smith is an initial survivor that was in Algonquin Park during the crash. His group of fifteen is lucky enough to be saved by Rocky from a giant Onikuma. Apprentice-Medicine Man

  Jorge – A member of the Grotto Council. Hooded and shadowed. Not very talkative.

  Karacy – A race native to Gelthisar. Also termed Dwarf.

  Karl Keerdint – An engineer who was constructing the crafters hall. Highly attentive to detail and not afraid of authority.

  Kata – A Japanese word that refers to patterns of movement. It is often used to teach proper styles for sword and martial arts.

  Kingsbraid – A plant that needs Ether to cultivate.

  Knight’s Action – A skill that Rockland can acquire in the Chimeran Knight class.

  Knight’s Resolve – A skill that Rockland can acquire in the Chimeran Knight class.

  Knowledge Tablet – A tablet that has access to books that are stored in the EtherNet or purchased from other areas of the Ether Verse.

  Kodo’s Jacket – A piece of Cursed Regalia picked up by our hero during book 3.

  Lacy Obs – Rockland’s sister.

  Letoya Deckman – A friend of Victoria Faris. A member of the Grotto Military and a combat classer.

  Lillian Meghan Wright Centre – A educational building inside York Univeristy.

  Lingren – An elven merchant inside the Aretrean Bazaar. Somewhat honest but currently disliked by Rockland for his racist slurs and remarks.

  Loincloth – An item dropped by Ogres. Ogres use the skin of their strongest foe to craft a loincloth.

  Long Forgotten Dungeon (LFD) – Rocky and the gang hide in this Dungeon on the way to Ottawa. Rocky makes a deal with LFD, which he terms Little Friendly Dungeon. LFD will help keep the devastation caused by a nuclear meltdown at bay and, in time, help Rocky’s settlement level.

  Louisville Slugger – A popular type of wooden bat.

  M3 – Is an American .45-caliber submachine gun.

  Mages Guild – Guild located on Helion Prime. A guild that is entirely comprised of Mage classes.

  Mageleaf – A type of plant that needs Ether to cultivate.

  Madawaska – Is an incorporated township in Renfrew County in Eastern Ontario, Canada.

  Marcel Grey – A dishwasher in the Mess Hall who has a Geologist class. Gets directed to go to morning trainings and strengthen himself.

  Martian Hive – A guild that originated on Mars. Fled when Ether vanished. Still a powerful entity in the Ether Verse.

  Maximus – An arena dungeon inside of Algonquin Valley.

  McDougall – Is a township in central Ontario, Canada.

  Mechanolord – An individual who has been converted into a machine hybrid. They often gain significant power but miss out on a great deal of skill building.

  Mechanolords Conversion Seeds – An item that converted biological beings into Mechanolords.

  Melee Weapon – A weapon that is used in close quarters.

  Meliora Guild – The guild created by Rockland and Sela for the people of the Grotto.

  Michabo – A Native American man that resides in the Spirit Realm. He is half rabbit and half man. Extremely old and possibly deceitful.

  Minions – A servile dependent, follower or underling.

  Minion Golems – Golems controlled by others.

  Monsters Bane – An enchantment on an item.

  Montessori – T
he Montessori Method of Education is a individual-centered education approached based on scientific observations of children. Often the teachers learn the materials before sharing it with their pupils. This creates a joint learning environment.

  Mortar and Pestle – A bowl and a rod that are used in conjunction to pulp seeds into powders or liquids.
