Cara moaned feverishly and dug her fingers into his ash blonde hair, her body moving against his frantically. She never got tired of feeling him inside her, the pleasure was too much, too intense for her never to want him. He had introduced her to so much that she found herself shivering whenever he was not around and she thought about him.

She cried out softly as he twirled his tongue around the tight bud of her nipple and felt the pull of emotions deep within her. She had asked Christine if she would ever reach that stage where her relationship with her husband had become mundane but she knew she would never be able to bear it if it did. She felt it then and knew she was not going to last much longer. “Matthew!” she cried gripping his head tightly. He lifted his head and looked down at her, his green eyes stormy.

“Let go,” he told her huskily, knowing what was coming next.

He lifted her hips and thrust inside her urgently helping her along. He could feel the tightening of his testicles and knew he was right behind her. With a helpless cry she let go and allowed the wave to crash over her, the emotion and passion overcoming her and sending the unbelievable pleasure crashing through her body.

His body shuddered over hers as his release came right in the middle of hers and had them clinging to each other.

He had gotten into the habit of talking to the unborn child inside her belly and as soon as they were recovered enough, he rested his head against her and murmured softly to his son. “Hey there this is your dad again. I sure hope what I was doing to your mama did not hurt you in anyway because I am afraid I am going to be doing it over and over again.” He lifted his head with a grin at her wry expression. “How do you feel?” he asked her softly.

“Completely sated,” she told him softly resting her hand on his chest.

“How about a snack?” he asked her bending to kiss her lips softly.

“That sounds nice but first this,” she pulled his head down and took his lips with hers, pushing her tongue inside his mouth.

He was all for it and he deepened the kiss, his hands cupping her cheeks. He released her lips with a broken laugh. “You are killing me.” He told her softly.

  Chapter 4

Carolyn came two days later and Matthew went himself to pick her up at the airport. It had almost slipped his lips twice to tell his wife that her sister was coming but he had managed to contain himself. He hated keeping secrets from her but this was for a good cause. He saw her waiting outside for him and brought the vehicle to a stop, jumping out to get her bags.

He had left the office and told his secretary that he would be back in a few hours. The afternoon sun was pleasant against his skin as he came over to her. “It’s good to see you Carolyn,” he told her with a smile giving her a hug. If he noticed how she clung to him for a little bit he gave no indication of it and took her bags.

“It’s lovely to see you Matthew,” she said with a bright smile. She gave him a grateful look as he opened the door for her to get in and then went to stow her bags around the back before getting in and driving off. “How is my sister and the children?”

“They are doing great,” he spared her a quick smile before merging into the afternoon traffic. He had thought about sending his driver for her but had thought she would be more comfortable with someone she knew. He had left Cara at home and she had told him she was going to be popping into the center for half a day before going back home. “Janice is eating everything in the house and Joel is determined to drive the nannies crazy.” He said with a proud smile.

“I cannot wait to see them,” Carolyn murmured softly thinking what a difference it was when this man that her sister had marry, talked about his wife and children. You could literally see the glow on his handsome face and he was handsome.

“How are you?” he asked her looking at her quickly.

She shrugged and looked out at the passing scenery. “Clive told me it was a good idea for me to go away for awhile, he said that maybe it would help us sort things out between us.”

“I cannot believe that he does not want to be there for every aspect of his child’s life.” Matthew said with a frown.

“Not all men are like you Matthew. I hope my sister realizes what she has.” Carolyn said wistfully.

“She is the most wonderful woman I have ever met Carolyn, I have a feeling that I am the lucky one.” He told her quietly.

Carolyn did not respond to that and they traveled the rest of the journey in silence. Carolyn wondered what it would be like for a man to say how lucky he was to be with her. Cara had always gotten the best things in life even when they were little and she was getting resentful about it now.

  *****

Cara was in the kitchen with Caleb when they got there. The planning for the children’s birthday party had already started and there was going to be a dinner party on the weekend as well to entertain some out of town associates of her husband.

Jennifer had popped out to the hospital where she volunteered every Wednesday and was not back yet. She turned as she heard the noise behind her in the doorway and saw her husband there. “Baby everything okay?” she asked looking at him with a slight frown. He had told her he would be a little late coming home today so she had not expected to see him.

He turned aside and that was when she saw her sister. Letting out a loud scream she ran to meet her and they hugged tightly. “Caro! You told me you were thinking about coming I had no idea you had made up your mind.”

“Your very persuasive husband called me and convinced me and we decided to surprise you.” She said with a smile of pleasure.

“You were keeping this from me all along?” she looked up at her husband who was standing there looking at the reunion with an amused smile.

  “I was sworn to secrecy.”

“I told him not to say anything.” Carolyn told her. “Thanks Matthew for everything.”

  “You are most welcome.”

“And I will be thanking you later when we are alone,” Cara said looking at him, her meaning very clear.

“Looking forward to it.” He strode over and pulled her into his arms and for a moment they forgot that Carolyn was standing there as he took her lips with his in a gentle kiss that had her toes curling. “I will see you later.” He kissed the tip of her nose before letting her go. “I will see you at dinner Carolyn.”

They both watched as his long strides ate up the distance to the front door. “You are very lucky,” Carolyn murmured wondering what it would feel like to have his lips on hers.

“I think so,” She looped her hand into her sister’s arm. “Come on and you can choose which suite you would like to stay in and then you can visit with your niece and nephew.”

  *****

Carolyn told her she wanted to rest a little bit after she had played with Joel and Janice. She had chosen a rose pink suite with delicate white furnishings. It looked like a doll’s room and had filmy white curtains at the windows. She closed and locked the door as soon as her sister left, passing her hands over the furniture.

Cara had asked her if she wanted her to send someone up to unpack her suitcases and she had looked at the girl as if she had lost her mind. In the short time she had been married to Matthew she had become accustomed to people picking up after her. She had told her no and that she was capable of doing it herself.

She felt the depression coming on. She had told her mother that she needed a break from everything and her mother had paused over the phone. “You want to take a break from your marriage? Girl what are you thinking?”

“Mama I don’t want to talk about it right now. I am stressed out and that is not good for me in this condition.”

“I thought you and Clive were okay!” her mother had said in bewilderment.

“Just okay mama and that is not working for me anymore.” She had told her.

“Child you have a man who loves you and respect you. You need to be grateful for that.”

“I don’t need crumbs mama, I want the whole loaf.”

She stood there staring around the beautiful room that really belonged to her sister. She had a beautiful mansion, a beautiful husband and beautiful children and what did she have? A man with a regular boring job and regular boring looks. Their place in the UK was not impressive and the furnishings were drab. She knew her sister would gladly hand her a check for them to buy something else but she knew that Clive would never accept it. He thought a two hundred pound bonus was a blessing! He was mediocre and she had known that for a long time now but since Cara had married Matthew she had become dissatisfied.

There was a discreet knock on the door. “Yes?”

“Hey you all rested? I need to come in and talk to my sister some more. Matthew will be home in a few minutes and then we are going to be eating.”

With a sigh she moved to open the door, pinning a bright smile on her face. “Are you okay?” Cara asked her curiously.

“I am great.” She looked at her sister at arm’s length. “You look fine girl and that is some expensive dress you have on.”

“I am going to take you shopping as soon as we wake up tomorrow.” Cara told her hugging her again and not noticing the stiffness in her demeanor. “I want you to come to the center with me as well and we will leave from there.” She pulled her sister to sit on the edge of the bed. “Okay I want to hear what has been going on with you. Is there any chance that you and Clive will get back together?”

“I told you that he is cheating on me and you want me to go back to him?”

“There is going to be a baby involved Carolyn so I am thinking about that.” Cara told her quietly, reaching for her sister’s hands.

“You have it all Cara,” she said with tears in her eyes. “You have everything so you would never understand what it feels like to have nothing.”

Cara stared at her sister in shock wondering where the outburst was coming from. She sounded bitter and resentful and she was not accustomed to hearing her sound like that. “I am sorry Caro,” she said quietly. “I had no idea you felt that way.”

“I am sorry too; I should not have dumped on you like that. I am just so frustrated and confused and I have no idea what to do.”

“I am going to be there for you I promise you that,” Cara said earnestly squeezing her hands.

  “Thank you.”

  *****

Dinner was quiet and subdued with Matthew and Jennifer carrying most of the conversation. Cara was still troubled about her sister’s comment about her having everything and she was beginning to see that things were very bad with her.

“You must be so happy that your sister is here with you now Cara,” Jennifer commented as she sliced into the soft and succulent beef. The old her would have been resentful to have the other woman there but nowadays she was too happy to bother with things like that.

“Of course,” Cara said with a forced smile. For the first time in her relationship with her sister she had no idea where she stood with the other girl. “We are planning on going shopping some time tomorrow.”

“You could always call Simone to bring over some things baby,” Matthew reminded her leaning over to dab his napkin against her mouth, his touch lingering. Jennifer’s eyes sharpened as she saw the look of envy on Carolyn’s face and decided that the girl needed to be watched.

“We want the mall experience don’t we Caro?” she looked at her sister.

“Yes we do.” She turned to Matthew. “I understand you took over an internet provider just recently. How is that going?”

“Pretty well. We are revamping the company and looking into what made them go bankrupt in the first place. They had been getting complaints about interruptions of services and slow internet speed.” Matthew told her. He usually never discussed business around the dinner table preferring to focus on his family when he was not at work.

“So you will be getting rid of the current employees?” Carolyn asked her expression avid as she looked at her sister’s husband.

“We are looking into their performances.” He told her briefly. “What’s wrong?” he asked turning to his wife as he noticed her slight grimace.

“I am feeling a little queasy.” She murmured taking a deep breath.

He pushed aside his plate and stood up reaching for her hand. “How about lying down for a little bit?”

“Sounds good.” She looked at her sister and Jennifer. “I am sorry guys but I am afraid our son is getting restless.” She looked at her husband. “You don’t have to come up with me Matthew.”

“I do,” he told her with a slow smile holding her hand firmly. “Please excuse us.”

“Of course,” Carolyn said with a forced smile.

Jennifer waited until they had cleared the room. “They make a very lovely couple don’t they?” she commented casually as she speared off a piece of beef.

  “They do.”

“I used to resent your sister and thought she was going to take my place in my brother’s life. But I see that they were meant for each other. He loves her so much and she is so good for him. Nothing or no one will ever come between them.” There was a hint of warning there that was not mistaken.

“I am sure their love can withstand anything,” Carolyn drank down the sparkling apple juice to soothe the rawness of tears in her throat. He adored her sister and even when she was talking to him he kept looking at her and noticing the slightest movement. How it must feel to be loved like that.

“You are in an unfortunate position: Pregnant and away from your husband, you must feel as if you are all alone.” Jennifer commented staring at the girl intently. She was not as beautiful as her sister, in fact she was not beautiful at all except for very lovely eyes and she remembered growing up with a brother like Matthew who had all the looks and most of the friends and she figured it must have been the same for Carolyn. It was not easy living in the shadows of a better looking and popular sibling. It tended to lead to resentment and envy.

“I am okay,” Carolyn said stiffly. “If you will excuse me I am feeling a little tired.”

“Of course,” Jennifer nodded. She watched as the girl made her way slowly from the vast living room, her expression thoughtful.

  *****

“How do you feel now?” Matthew asked her. Jennifer had sent up some chamomile tea for her and she had drank most of it. He had helped her out of her clothes and into her nightgown and had taken off his clothes as well in order to take a shower. It was only a quarter past eight but he had no intention of going anywhere but cuddling with her and maybe making love to her later in the night.

“Wonderful,” she ran her hands over his solid muscular chest. “Do you think that Carolyn looks unhappy?”

“She is going through a separation and is pregnant, she has reason to be.”

“She told me I have everything and she has nothing.” Cara murmured as he brushed back her hair into her regular ponytail.

“You cannot take that personal baby, it is the way she is feeling right now. All we have to do is try and make her feel as comfortable as possible.”

“You are a wonderful husband do you know that?” she asked him softly, sliding her hands up his bare chest.

“This wonderful husband is going to have to make love to you if you continue to do that,” he warned huskily.

“This very grateful wife has no problem whatsoever in that happening.” She told him throatily.

“Are you sure?” he looked at her uncertainly.

“I am positive,” to prove it she brought his head down to meet hers in a slow erotic kiss that had his body burning.

  *****

“Okay what do you want us to do first?” Cara asked her sister as she put on her seatbelt. She had decided to drive the Porsche this morning because Matthew had told her that her car needed servicing and he would be worried sick if she went out in it like that. “I called Chris and told her I would be late coming in. We have some food to distribute to the pregnant mothers and some clothing.”

“I want to go to the cente
r. Who knows? There might be something there that I need.” Carolyn told her.

“Don’t be ridiculous Caro!” Cara said sharply as she put the car into drive and went around the driveway. “I told you I would shop for whatever you need.”

“I am not sure I need you to be buying me everything Cara. I need to have some sort of self respect and you giving me everything is something that I am not comfortable with.”

Cara glanced at her briefly. “So you prefer to pick up something from the stuff that was donated for the needy parents?”

“Remember when we were kids and we used to get clothes from the thrift store?” she asked her sister. “I kind of feel like I am still there, I am still doing that. I have to learn to handle things for myself and not have to depend on my little sister to do things for me.”

“I want to do things for you! We are sisters for crying out loud! I have the means to do it so I really hope you will let me do it. I know you are in a situation right now Carolyn but I do not want you to go through it alone.”

“Thanks I will think about it.” She said with a faint smile.

When they got to the center there were already a number of expectant mothers waiting for the things that had been promised to them. Jeanette, Elaine and Christine were already busy distributing packages and there were a number of toddlers in the playroom nearby attending to stuff toys.

“You could have called me,” Cara rebuked them as she made her way in and started helping. Her sister stood to one side for a minute until Cara beckoned her over. “Elaine this is my sister Carolyn, she is staying with me for a while.”

“Nice to meet you,” the woman said pleasantly heading back to the playroom to see to the children.

“Good to see you again my dear,” Jeanette said with a smile while Christine gave her a quick hug and passed some baby clothes to her. “You are on folding and packaging duty.” She told her with a grin.

They were not able to get any break until sometime in the afternoon when Jeanette insisted on them having some of her ice cold lemonade and ham and chicken sandwiches along with slices of apple pie.
