The Laws of Love

I frowned in confusion. “Never had sex in your parents’ house?” I asked.

She turned even redder and shook her head. “I uh…” she wrapped her hand around her neck before she continued. “I’ve never had sex before, I’m a virgin.”

I was stunned silent. I stared at her, and stared. She started to fidget from her discomfort but I have no idea how to take this news. “How is that even possible? How has no man ever touched you?” I asked. It was truly baffling. I know I’m not possibly the only guy that’s wanted to fuck her ten ways to Sunday.

She shrugs. “Guys don’t like me.” She admitted.

I sighed. I can’t do this. I can’t fuck her like an animal right here in her parents’ house. I can’t take her virginity. I know how I feel about her, and I want her under me… but I don’t do relationships. She deserves better for her first time. I looked her in the eye and I’m sure she could see my regret. “I’m sorry Cassie, I didn’t know. I just assumed…” I pinched the bridge of my nose and closed my eyes trying to quiet my thoughts. “This isn’t right. I can’t do this to you, with you.”

I saw her eyes tear up and even worse I saw hurt. She shifted trying to cover herself but I grabbed her to stop. “Listen, it’s nothing about you. I’m so fucking hard right now I could pound nails with my dick. I want you. You know it, I know it. I haven’t hidden it from you either, I’ve told you. But this? I can’t take your virginity. You deserve better than this, than me. If I’d known I wouldn’t have entertained the idea.”

She sighed and turned away from me. I knew she was fighting to keep her tears at bay but I really wasn’t trying to hurt her. When I caught her gaze again a tear had escaped and I wiped it with my thumb. “Shh Cassie. I’ll still make you feel better, I promise.” I told her.

She shook her head and tried to scurry away from me. I planted firm hands on her thighs keeping her where she was and she let out a low keening noise that was supposed to be a protest but her emotions were too high. I hated this moment, I hated this whole thing. Seeing her hurt and dejected and it was my fault. My fault that I didn’t fucking know better. My fault for wanting to fuck my damn assistant. My fault for not knowing she was a fucking virgin before I stripped her bare.

I pried her legs apart and swiped my tongue against her clit. Her body shivered and I went to work on her. As I continued, she became more relaxed and let me in. After a while she was thrashing and moaning and completely in the moment. All I wanted was to make me feel good. I want her to know I wasn’t rejecting her, I was protecting her. I licked, sucked and nibbled on her until she exploded not once, but three times… back to back. Until she was begging me to stop and asking for mercy. There were tears coming from her eyes, but this time it was from pleasure and not sadness. I lapped up all her juices and trailed small kisses on her inner thighs, moving up her body until I reached her face. I placed kisses on her closed eyelids, her nose her mouth. I gave her my shirt to put on and climbed on the couch behind her. I pulled her into my chest and we were both asleep in minutes.

  Chapter 9

  Cassie

I woke up once again plastered to Drayden and my face instantly heated from embarrassment. Yesterday I saw a side of him that I had no idea even existed and it was so attractive. For once he showed me there was something more to him and what do I do? I practically maul him and get rejected for my inexperience. I shouldn’t have said anything, I shouldn’t have. In hindsight I should be glad that he didn’t let it go that far but for some reason I’m not.

I stretch and get up to take care of my business. My best bet is to sit back and pretend like nothing happened. It was a fluke, a moment of insanity. I threw on my pants and headed upstairs leaving him sleep on the couch. Unsurprisingly, my mother was in the kitchen already making breakfast. I poured some orange juice and took a seat as I watched her. When she finally turned around my way she jumped and let out a little shriek in freight.

“Cass… you scared the bageezies out of me.” She stated hand on her chest.

I chuckled. “Morning to you too mom. Plus, that’s not really a word you know?” I told her.

She rolled her eyes. “It is so, I made it up. Now, can you grab the sausage from the freezer for me?”

I smiled at her back and did as she asked. I walked it over to her and when she turned to take it her eyes scanned me. I frowned and looked down to see what had her attention. A blush took over my chest and face instantly when I realized I still had on Drayden’s t-shirt.

  “Well…?” she asked.

I shrugged not knowing what to tell her. “Fell asleep in the basement last night after playing in the snow. He let me borrow it is all.”

Her eyebrow arched. “is that all?” she asked.

I nodded. “Yea, why do you ask?”

She turned back to the stove. “No reason, just curious. I’ve noticed that you guys have been sleeping in the den.”

“Well you know that’s where I prefer and where all the good stuff is at. There’s nothing going on ma.”

“Do you like him?” she asked.

I thought about it. I thought I didn’t, all this time… I really thought all I felt was hatred towards him. Lately though I’m starting to question that. I think I might like him… maybe always had. I don’t lie to my mom, well unless it’s for the greater good. “honestly, I’m not sure. I might but it doesn’t matter. He’s not into me that way, plus he doesn’t do relationships…” or virgins. I finished off in my head.

“What makes you so sure?” she asks.

Now there’s no way in fuck I am going to willingly admit to my mom or anyone else that I threw myself at him. “He’s said as much.”

She sighed but didn’t push it anymore. The rest of the day passed by in a blur. Drayden and I both went through the day as if last night never occurred. My parents commented on the snow man and we both played it off casually. It had stopped snowing early afternoon and I knew it was only a matter of time before he melted. We were both awake and bored so we had a go at it. We spent some time on the case discussing an action plan for tomorrow’s meeting. That night, we didn’t return to the den we both went upstairs to our separate rooms.

The meeting with Carl was scheduled for 2 this afternoon. We ate an early breakfast got dressed and out the house. Drayden drove us the four and a half hours to the office that Carl was working out of in Houston. This was supposed to be a business meeting where Drayden is going to express interest of being a potential financer. I wore a navy blue skirt suit with a white silk camisole, I paired this with the shoes that Shelly picked up for me.

The drive was long and mostly silent. Drayden seemed lost in his head and I was also. I tried to run through every fact that I knew about Carl before we got there. I was nervous without a doubt, I had a horrible feeling that I was going to screw everything up and it was downright depressing.

By the time we arrived I was a mess. I had sweat gathering on the back of my neck, my palms were sweating, and my hands were shaking. Not good. I tend to stammer and say ridiculous things when I’m under pressure. Maybe if I kept my lips closed tight nothing bad would happen. I took a long shaky breath and had to keep repeating to myself ‘you are not a screw up’ which did nothing to help.

I reached for the door handle to let myself out when I felt Drayden’s large warm hand grip my thigh. “Cassie?”

I turned to him and gave him a shaky smile that I knew probably looked more like a grimace. “Yea?”

“Are you ok?” he asked frowning. Just great, I must look as bad as I feel right now.

“Yes, of course I am! Why wouldn’t I be? I’m ready for this, let’s do this.” I said all in one quick breath.

He let out a low chuckle. “You’re nervous, but you shouldn’t be. This will go fine.”

I let out a long sigh, it’s obvious so there was no need in me trying to pretend. “I’m shaking in my boots over here. If I piss on myself or something you better not laugh. This is insane, what were we thinking?” I
asked.

His eyebrows flew up. “If I remember correctly you told me to stop being a pussy and put on my Spiderman drawers.”

I rolled my eyes. “It was superman you fool. If you’re going to quote me, quote me correctly.”

He smiled. “There’s the girl I know. He doesn’t know our real intentions and as long as we play it cool and pretend to be interested in learning his companies and how we could make money we’re set. You know how to deal with his type of people.”

I crossed my eyes. “If he’s anything like you then no.”

He sighed. “And what’s like me?”

I held up my hand and started ticking off my fingers as I went down my list. “Pigheaded, maddening, pretentious, exasperating - “

He cut me off. “Maddening and exasperating are kind of the same thing…”

I kept talking as if he hadn’t said a word. “Egotistical… should I continue?”

“No, I get the point. But yes, he is probably all of those things but it won’t show. The guy wants to do business with me, he’s too eager. When they’re like that they’re more pleasant and accommodating. He’s more likely to be a kiss ass today than anything else, you’ll do fine.”

I nodded not fully believing him but hoping he was right. “Alright, I’ll control myself. Give me a look or a signal or something if I start fucking up okay?”

He nodded. “I can do that.”

Feeling just a tad more confident I got out of the car with my bag. I was there as his assistant and my role is to be taking notes and making sure nothing is missed. I get to dive into the conversation to ask questions for clarification purposes to ensure the meeting minutes are right. Really it’s just a ruse so that I can engage in the conversation whenever I think of something.

I eyed the building as I approached and I can’t deny I was a bit impressed. This project is supposed to be a luxury hotel and from the looks of it, it will be. It wasn’t really furnished but the squeaky marble floors and counters, the chandeliers and the general space was enough to awe even though there was barely anything in it.

There was a woman sitting at the front desk behind a computer typing her life away. Drayden approached and tapped his finger against the desk to get her attention. She glanced up and was going to dip her head back into her computer before doing a double take. I refrained from rolling my eyes when her cheeks pinked, the man hasn’t even said anything yet.

“How can I help you sir?” she asked in a breathless voice. Good god!

“I have a meeting with Mr. Fisher.” He said smoothly.

She gave him a smile that I’m sure was more of an invitation to something else before picking up her phone. The girl was so enamored with his looks she didn’t even ask his name. She said a few words into the receiver and hung up. “He’ll be right out for you.”

Right out he was. I’m starting to believe more of what Drayden said. When I got a look at the man in the flesh he was exactly like the old douche bags he leaves me to schmooze with. He eyed the receptionist as he walked forward and the look that he gave her with her answering blush made me throw up a little. The girl was a bubbly blonde that looked like she got her diploma hours ago while he looked like he should be counting his days to the death bed.

He walked right up to Drayden and extended his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Marks. I’m so happy that you’ve reached out to me.”

Drayden shook his proffered hand. “Same here. Shall we begin?” he asked.

I took my eyes off of Carl and focused on Drayden. I haven’t heard or seen this man since we were back in the City. This wasn’t the guy that charmed my mother, carried me to his home drunk, put up with me using him as a body pillow, or played Nintendo with me. This was the Drayden I knew when I first started working, the one I dealt with when I was ready to kill one or the both of us. Powerful and completely in control. He was a force to be wrecking with. I watched his powerful strong strides as he followed Carl and I trailed behind them. I just realized that since we walked into the building I haven’t even been acknowledged. I don’t think anyone even knew I was there.

When we reached Carl’s office, Drayden finally acknowledged me. I guess he was using his manners and when Carl extended his hand to let Drayden go first he stepped back to allow me instead. Carl looked at me and his eyes lit up, I didn’t like that not one bit.

  Drayden

I had to play my part here in this meeting and treat Cassie like nothing more than my assistant. It was all going well up until I became a gentleman and let her enter Carl’s office before me and he got a good look at her. He looked like a kid in a candy shop as he openly ogled her after she passed him by. I wanted to knock him upside the head to pull his eyes back into his head but that wouldn’t help our cause so instead I sucked it up and pretended I didn’t notice.

After we took our seats Carl rounded his desk and flopped down into his chair. “I’m so happy you made it. I thought for sure when that snow came in it was going to be a disaster.”

I shook my head. “It only passed through thankfully.”

He nodded in agreement. “And who is this lovely lady with you?” he asked.

I caught Cassie’s face and became a bit concerned about her answer. She was smiling, but I knew that smile. It wasn’t genuine in the least and normally when aimed at me something sarcastic, witty, and pretty much offending was going to follow. “I’m Cassie, Drayden’s assistant. I’m here to take notes.” She said sweetly. Too sweetly.

He smiled at her and his eyes traveled down to her breast. “Well that’s great. We’re always in need of good help these days, right Drayden?”

I somehow managed to smile. “Yes, I guess it is.”

He gave Cassie one last lustful look before redirecting his attention to me. “So, from my understanding you would like to do business together right?” he asked.

I nodded slowly. “I’m looking to branch out on the investment side. The business is doing well, but I have my own personal portfolio and I’m looking to expand on that. Of course you understand that any other business will be strictly for me and will have nothing to do with the firm.”

He nodded. “That’s perfect. If you’re into making money than I’m your man. I’ve heard many things about you and I’m more than certain you’ve done your research. You know that I dabble in all types of corporations. I prefer to invest, build, promote… make them great essentially and then when it’s stable and thriving I sell to the highest bidder. They become worth far more than I put in to build the places. Of course I don’t do these things alone. I have other investors that come in and we all come out good in the end. It won’t be a bad decision.”

Unease immediately settled into my stomach. I was trying to gather my thoughts and think about how to continue when Cassie cleared her throat. “I’m sorry Mr. Fisher, I’m just trying to ensure my notes are sufficient… do you mind to tell me how do you find your clients and what makes you choose your projects?”

He looked at her and smirked. I saw a glint in his eyes that told me exactly what he thought about her. She was eye candy and probably a bimbo. It was in our advantage though because he’d give her information without thinking twice. As I listened to his next statement all of my plans for this meeting instantly changed. I just hope like hell that Cassie catches on because I wouldn’t be able to say it to her or ask to speak to her privately without raising an eyebrow.

“Anything to keep the boss happy eh? Well let’s see… most times it begins like this. Simple meetings in which I give an overview of what I do, what I’m looking for, and what you would be getting yourself into. From there we work on what you’re willing to invest and we scope out the potential of the business. Of course no one would invest in a business if there is nothing in it for them so I have to make a hell of a pitch. However, we all collaborate with any high level ideas pertaining to the business. You’d be surprised how much extremely helpful input I get from some of the investors. This is a partnership, and the best
way to be successful is to treat it like such. I’m not just looking for funding and then play the dictator. Naturally I have more experience so I sometimes have to overrule ideas that aren’t ideal for the company. Those that don’t want involvement is fine, but those that do it’s absolutely welcomed.”

She nodded. “That would make sense because those are the type of people you would want to draw into your establishment as customers, yes?”

He smiled. “Exactly. So, with that being said once I build a solid foundation and a comfortable partnership with my investors I also open the doors up for new ideas and business at which most of the time they lead the funding. Given that I undertake most of the handy/dirty work per say, I still make out… so there’s no issues there with me either. I’m an equal opportunist if you may.”

“Got it all covered.” She said taking notes.

I knew she wasn’t going to continue so I spoke up. “What new projects do you have in the works that you think might interest me?”

He scratched his chin in thought. “Well you did say this was an independent prospect for you outside of your business… so do you have any restrictions on types of establishment?” he asked.

I shook my head. “None. I’m just venturing into this now so I’m pretty much open for anything.”

He nodded. “I have a few, however they are mostly developments that have been brought to me from my other investors. We’re always open to more however…”

“Can you tell me what these companies are?”

“Yes, yes. Of course! I can compile that information for you, or at least have my assistant do it and have it sent to you within the next couple of days and you can contact me on your interests. I have them in my head of course but you don’t strike me as a man that only wants a company name…”

I smiled at him. “You’re right about that. Can you send me all the details of the current and upcoming work? Also, any other projects you’ve done that has had significant outturns in the last couple of years so I can see the true potential and I can get back to you in the next couple of weeks once I analyze the data?”
