That Night In Paris

Thank you, especially, to Victoria for inspiring the “just little” (but mighty), bright, funny and fiercely loyal Cat—although Vic is a far more of a hopeful romantic than Cat. She did, in real life, get the good hair, however, and I’m still green with envy. Thank you to Mark for editing my French, Italian, German and Spanish. Your knowledge and love of languages are awe-inspiring and came in very handy for this book! Thank you, as always, to Ben—my rock, my love, my sounding board and plotting partner, my biggest fan and my best friend.

I truly have the most supportive family and friends. They have embraced this new chapter in my life (pun intended) and are ferociously supporting me in my work as an author. A heartfelt and bottomless thanks to them, especially my parents, Lee, Ray and (step-mum) Gail.

Thank you, especially, to Michelle, Weyleen and Sophie, who inspired Mama Lou, Jaelee, and Danielle, respectively. They were once my very own bus besties as I toured around Europe nursing a shattered heart after a devastating break-up in Paris. And thank you to my cousin, Jaelee, who lent me her name for this book.

I am so fortunate to be under the wing of super-agent Lina Langlee. I have learned so much from her already, and I truly appreciate her guidance, counsel, feedback, and good humour. She champions, supports, and nudges me from the sidelines, and I wouldn’t be writing these acknowledgements for my second novel if it weren’t for her. It’s no wonder that she was shortlisted for the Romance Novelists’ Association’s Agent of the Year Award for 2019—she’s incredible.

I have another literary partner-in-crime in the formidable and fabulous Hannah Todd, my editor at One More Chapter. Hannah’s forthright and insightful feedback has (already) made me a better writer, and she is so generous with her vast knowledge of the publishing industry.

Thank you to both Lina and Hannah for believing in me and for making my literary dreams come true. Thank you, also, to the incredible teams at Kate Nash Literary Agency and One More Chapter for all the work you do to support my literary journey.

The author community never ceases to amaze me with their generosity, support, guidance, and friendship, and I am grateful on a daily basis for my fellow authors. I learn from you, I admire you, I champion your successes, and I am grateful to you.

A special shout out to Julie Houston, Phillipa Ashley, Samantha Tonge, Emma Robinson, Ella Hayes, Dana L. Brown, Belinda Missen, Katie Ginger, Lynne Shelby, Lucy Coleman, and Sarah Louise Smith for being early readers and supporting my debut with your generous words.

Thank you to Eve Corso, Caroline Bertaud, Lucy Knott, Paige Toon, Lindsey Kelk, Kerry Fisher, Kate Field, Karen King, Kiley Dunbar, and many other wonderful authors for supporting me as an emerging author. Lucy Mitchell, thank you, thank you, thank you for being my beta reader for this book, and telling me to ditch chapter three—you were right! It has been wonderful watching your success—you are a fabulous writer.

Thank you to the (other) author friends I’ve met through UKRomChat (find them on Twitter), especially Jeanna Skinner, Lucy Keeling, Emily Royal, Eilidh Lawrence, Lucy Flatman, Rebecca Duval, and Anita Faulkner. You are fabulous, talented women who inspire me and I adore you. Huge thanks, as well, to my fellow #AusWrites authors. I love engaging with you daily—you brighten my early mornings and are there for me when I’m brooding in the dark, angst-ridden with doubt.

There are wonderful, supportive, and close-knit communities of authors at the Kate Nash Literary Agency and One More Chapter, and at the Romance Novelists’ Association and the Romance Writers of Australia. Thank you for welcoming me, connecting with me, supporting me, teaching me and keeping me laughing and thinking with your hilarious and clever posts and tweets.

I truly appreciate the book blogging community, who are gracious and generous with their time and commitment to the love of a good story. I’ve been directly supported by many of you—thank you!

  And, dear reader, thank you.

Thank you for making my dreams come true, for reading my books, and for diving into the world of the Parsons sisters and their friends, enemies, family, and lovers.

  ’Til next time …
