  So launching this bird into the sky could never have happened without help from a lot of people. My family, of course, get much of the credit for feeding my writing addiction. So do those ‘Wielders of the Red Pen’ who read and re-read the story in each of its many versions: Addie, Alex, Alison, Blaire, Colin, Dania, Kim, Maree, Nickie, Pam (thanks for letting me borrow Bungee), Paul, Vron and Zoe. Sarah Endacott again took a mess of rambling words and taught me how to turn them into a fun ride. Massive thanks also goes to Michelle and the rest of the exhausted but ever-cheerful team at Odyssey Books, including all the other authors who have been so supportive. Last but not least, thank you to my tireless marketing manager who has never once balked at tackling a new platform or skill, even on all those nights when I had long since stopped writing and gone to bed, and he stayed up until the early hours. Apparently he likes learning new skills and therefore sleep is boring. Time to stop now, honey. Seriously. There are another two books to come yet. Time for a Netflix break.

  About the Author

  Carolyn lives on a small hobby farm on the outskirts of Melbourne. She has a science degree, far too many pets and a fear of the ocean that makes her Mauritian mother roll her eyes. Somehow between her mortgage-broking job, driving her kids crazy (mostly by asking their friends’ opinions about the Singularity) and feeding 63 baby axolotls, she has managed to write short stories for Aurealis and Andromeda Spaceways magazines. She is currently working to complete the fourth and final book in The Sentinels of Eden and after that she has promised that she will finally vacuum the bedrooms.
