Dare Me Not: A RH Dark High School Bully Romance (Heartbreak Falls Book 3)

He reached down to hold my hands. “Which means, Summer, you’re safe with Lincoln and me. You’re safe at Hidden Falls High. I’m sorry I ever bullied you, and I still await your punishment for it.” He said it with almost a gleam in his eyes as though he would enjoy it. What did he have in mind? I knew he had fantasies about me. He told me he did.
“River,” I said, looking at him, wanting to believe his sincerity, yet admiring how handsome he was. “I remembered you saying you want me to act as your girlfriend and sex slave when you become President…”
River looked disgusted. “That was when I was a bully to you and before I really fell for you, Summer. I want you for real. I want to be able to hold your hand like this, pick you up at your house, have you over at mine, eat together, be together, kiss you whenever I can and as often as I can.” He reached over and kissed me, his lips hot against mine. “Like this.” His tongue delved into my mouth to touch mine and heated me up as he deepened the kiss.
I moaned before accidentally biting his lower lip.
He groaned, “Oh Summer, you sexy vixen. I didn’t know you like it rough?”
I pulled away and said, “I didn’t either.”
He smiled and said, “If it’s rough you want, I can certainly give you that.”
A gleam came across his eyes, and I immediately thought of how Rachel had described him.
“He’s brilliantly smart like some evil scientist villain, but hot at the same time because everyone had said when he takes off his shirt, he is the most perfect male specimen.”
As if River knew what I was thinking, he said, “I can’t stop thinking about that day I ate you out. I crave your taste, Summer. I love watching your face contort in the pleasure I give you. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“River,” I said, remembering how gorgeous he was when he was fully naked and down on his knees, spreading my legs wide in front of his face. “I really like that, but I have to trust you enough not to film me or try to blackmail me like what Lincoln did with Rachel before I can let you get intimate with me again.”
“God, Summer,” River said, “I swear it won’t ever happen. I swear what goes on between you and me will stay between you and me. I’ll prove it to you.”
He started the Ferrari, and we were on our way to Hidden Falls.
We were going up the hill towards the Academy when we passed by Nat Donovan’s mansion. The lights were on, and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I missed the Donovans so much. I looked at River and asked. “Is Nat back?”
River frowned but said, “I’ll stop by. It’s on the way to school anyways.”
He pulled into the circular driveway and parked his Ferrari. Together we walked to the front door, my heart pounding in hope that the Donovans had decided to move back.
River rang the doorbell, and we waited a minute before the door opened.
A tall handsome young man in excellent shape, with a body that could rival River’s flawless one, and a little older than we were, stared back at us with piercing green eyes and short black hair. He was shirtless and only wearing black slacks that hugged his tight buttocks and legs in a way that showed off their tone. His upper body was perfectly muscular with a six-pack stomach, muscular arms, and a tribal tattoo of a sun around his left chest. He had a slight six o-clock shadow, which gave him a mysterious and sexy air.
“Can I help you?” he looked at River first before taking me in fully with his eyes. He had a British accent that almost made me drool.
“We’re looking for the Donovans?” I asked.
“The Donovans?” the young man asked. “No one by that name lives here. They must’ve been the last residents? I just moved in over the weekend.”
“Oh, we’re sorry to disturb you,” I said. “We’ll get going.”
River was just staring at the guy, clearly not liking what he was seeing.
The guy checked me out again and said, “That’s the Hidden Falls Academy uniform?”
“Yes,” I said. “The Academy up the street.”
“Come in,” he said. “Take a seat.”
“Um…we don’t want to intrude,” I said.
“No intrusion. It’ll be great to know someone at Hidden Falls Academy already. I was just getting ready when you rang. Let me go finish dressing.”
River and I went to the plush leather white sectional in the living room where the Donovans used to have a gold velvet eight-way hand-tied sofa. Where the Donovans had a contemporary elegant style, this young man had a modern almost high-tech look to this style.
“Help yourself to any drinks at my bar,” the young man called from the top of the stairs.
River went to the bar and took out a Ginger Ale soda for me and another for himself. I went over to him, and he handed me the can, lightly touching my hand as he did. His blue eyes met mine, and the look he shot me was dark, almost possessive. The presence of the hot handsome new guy was bringing out the cold dark side of River.
The young man came down the stairs, wearing the Hidden Falls Academy uniform and said, “I see you like playing by the rules. You got sodas instead of the liquor I have in there.”
“Well, we are heading to school,” River said gruffly. “I don’t want to smell like alcohol. Wouldn’t look good as the new President of the Student Body.” He reached out and shook the guy’s hand. “I’m River Millions, the President at Hidden Falls Academy. Welcome to our school.”
The handsome new guy’s eyes widened slightly as he acknowledged River. “River Millions,” he said. “I’m Dante Black.” He looked River in the eyes, and for a moment, it looked like they were having a mini battle between them. Two alpha males. Two very hot guys with equally perfect bodies fine-tuned to fighting and any physical activities, in a silent challenge.
Finally, Dante turned to look at me, and his eyes darted from my full lips to my breasts and then down to my legs where my skirt barely covered. I had grown another inch, since the beginning of the school year, and now my skirt was a little short. “And you are…?”
“Summer Jones,” I said. “Just a student. Still new too.”
River put his arm around my waist, pulling me close to him tight like we were a couple, his hand resting close to the front of my crotch. “Summer’s not just a student. She’s the top of her class and already the most popular girl in school.” He turned his face towards me and kissed my cheeks. “She’s so amazing, she’s also our school Ambassador, newly appointed by the Principal.”
“River!” I pushed his arm off of me. “I’m not all that…”
River looked at me and then at Dante. “Drop dead gorgeous and modest too.”
“I can see that,” Dante said, giving me a slight smile.
“Come on, guys!” I said. “We have to get going or we’ll be late for school.”
“You guys go ahead,” Dante said. “I still have some last minute things to do. But it was very nice meeting you.” He turned towards me and said, “Especially you, Summer. I hope as school Ambassador, you can show me around and get me situated.”
His green eyes burned into mine, and I felt a spark fly between us as though he took my hand and held it between both of his hands, palming mine like he wanted to keep me. He whispered to me, “I hope to see a lot more of you, Miss Ambassador.”

Dr. Good shook Asher’s hand then turned to Lux. “I’ve heard so much about you two. You’ve faced more action and activity in the last few months than most slayers see in their lifetimes.”
“It has been busy,” Lux said.
“Well, we’re very much looking forward to having you here. You’ll be attending Shadowlight Hunters Academy with some of the most experienced slayers from around
the world.”
“It’s an honor,” Lux said.
“My sons,” Dr. Good said, placing her hand on Sullivan’s shoulder. “They may seem young, but they’ve been gifted with the sight and have been slaying since childhood. As they got older, they accompanied me wherever I went. They learned a lot from me but learned even more from their own experiences. Like you, Lux, they’ve been fighting since the day they were born.”
“Nice to meet you,” Lucas said with a luscious British accent that brought a hint of propriety to his sexy deep voice. He held his hand out to Lux who shook it all while keeping her eyes on his magnificent blue-green eyes. His handshake was firm and strong as his fingers enveloped hers. His touch sent a startling tingle up her spine and judging by the small knowing grin on his lips, he was aware of the effect he had on her.
“It’s a pleasure meeting you,” Lux said trying to contain her attraction to him.
His long brown hair swept over his eye, giving him a very mysterious and alluring appeal. With a cleft in his chin and high cheekbones, he was a walking talking dream. He was tall, with strong broad shoulders, and there was something about him that reminded her of Brax.
Sullivan nudged his brother aside and held his hand out to Lux. “You can call me Sully.” With gorgeous green eyes and light brown hair, he had a bit of a preppy look, but seemed more carefree than his brother. He held her hand, held her gaze and brought her hand to his lips as he winked.
“My little brother is still a teenager at heart,” Lucas said. “We’re hoping that one day he’ll grow up.”
“Don’t listen to him,” Sully said with a wicked smile, his British accent as charming as Lucas’. “He’s just jealous of my cheeky nature. He only wishes he could let go and have fun like I do.”
“And I’m Asher.”
Sully and Lucas looked at him, unimpressed, but when Asher held his hand out, Sully took a firm hold of his hand and shook it. There was clear control in the handshake and a desire for Sully to upstage Asher.
Lucas barely cracked a smile, his eyes hard and appraising as he held his hand out to shake Asher’s.
“Well, now that the introductions are settled,” Dr. Good said, “I need to go over a few things with John and Hector.” She looked at her sons. “Would you mind giving Lux and Asher the grand tour.”
“Sure, Mother,” Lucas said.
“With pleasure,” Sully said, slipping his hand around Lux’s waist. He pulled her close to his side and looked hungrily at her. “I’m chuffed to bits. I would love nothing more than to be your very personal escort.” His voice was deep and luscious and so sexy.
“Keep your shorts on, Sully,” Lucas said, clearly annoyed with his brother’s advances. “Can’t you show an ounce of restraint?”
Sully kept his wicked eyes on Lux and licked his lips. “Why wait?” he said in a low husky voice. “I’ve heard so bloody much about you; your killer instincts, your killer moves, but most of all that freakin’ killer body.” He bit down on his lower lip while he devoured her with his eyes. “No bloke can resist that.”
“You’re the ambassador of SHA, Sully,” Lucas said as he led them out of the building. “Behave like a professional for once in your life.”
“He’s such a fuddy-duddy,” Sully said. “Can you believe the bloke is just two years older than I am, yet he acts like he’s my father.”
“That’s because you clearly need a father figure,” Lucas said. “And I would appreciate it if you could address me instead of airing your dirty laundry to a stranger.”
“Stranger no longer,” Sully said with a playful wink.
Lux smiled. It seemed no matter what Lucas said, Sully had a comeback. “Don’t worry about it,” she said to Lucas as they entered the neighboring building. “I can handle myself. If he truly gets out of line, I’ll put him in his place.”
“Well, it’s good to see that someone other than myself is capable of showing a little maturity.”
They came to the science lab and Lucas pushed the door open. “We have one of the most advanced and modern facility in all of Nevada.”
“Are you into science?” Sully said. He leaned in closer. “Or perhaps you prefer chemistry.”
“I guess you could say that I have a certain curiosity about science,” she said. “But it’s not a passion.”
“Good enough.”
They headed to the modern gym, then peered into the elegant chapel and finally took a good look at the spacious cafeteria.
While Asher walked behind them with Lucas comparing notes on demon slaying, Sully kept a tight hold on Lux. “I’m really looking forward to spending time with you,” Sully said. He led her out through the modern campus, pointing out various buildings as they walked about.
“We don’t have dorms here,” he said as he headed off campus and down the road to a large house. “Instead, we have a few private homes scattered about that can house several students.”
He stopped in front of a massive home with huge windows, and a terra cotta roof. Lux glanced at the house, not daring to think that it could be her home for her time there.
“This will be yours,” Sully said with pride. “It’s our most beautiful Mediterranean style house. Isn’t it fabulous?”
“You’re kidding,” she whispered. She took in the immensity of the home, the raw iron work on the window grills, the rounded arches and the adorable balcony off the second floor.
“Why are we stopping here?” Asher called out.
Lucas pulled out two sets of keys. He handed one to Lux. “This is your home for the next little while.”
“Holy mackeral,” Asher said.
“Don’t get too excited,” Sully said. “Your flat is out back.”
Lucas handed the second key to Asher.
“These homes are usually reserved for the children of the staff and execs, but since you have angelic blood, we need you to stay nearby,” Lucas said. “Lux will need you as well.”
Asher looked curiously at him. “How do you know what blood I have?”
Lucas led the way up the path and opened the carved front door. “It’s our job to be informed and the type of blood you have is information we need.”
Lucas pushed the door open and Lux gasped as she caught sight of the huge open space.
“Are you kidding me?” she said as they set foot on the marble floor.
A beautiful staircase spiraled up to a grand mezzanine that overlooked the elegant foyer. To the left was a modern den complete with computer, printer and scanner, and to the right was a large library filled with old leather-bound books.
“This is gorgeous, guys. Look at this.” Lux entered the living room and ran her hand over the back of the soft leather sofa. It was even grander than Moore’s lavish home, but with a warmer friendlier feel. “I might never want to leave.”
Sully grinned. “You can stay as long as you like.”
Lucas looked at Lux with a small, shy smile. His features warmed and he lost his cold edge. “I’m glad you like it,” he said softly. “I helped design the house when Mum left London to come live here.”
“Ah, I thought I’d detected a Brit accent,” Asher said.
Lucas pressed a tight grin.
“You designed this?” Lux said, marveling at the architectural details. “Do you have a degree in architecture?”
“Lucas has that innate thing going for him,” Sully said. There was a hint of pride in his tone, but also a bit of envy. “Give him numbers and figures and problems and he’ll figure it out. He designed all this five years ago when he was only fifteen.”
“Seriously?” Lux said. She looked at Lucas who seemed embarrassed by all the attention.
“He graduated high school at fifteen and crossed the pond with Mum, while I stayed behind at some tight-assed finishing school,” Sully griped. “I’d wanted Mum to set me up in my own flat, but she insisted that I board at the school.” He stuck his index finger down his throat and forced a gag. “Such a drag.”

p; “You were thirteen, you wanker. Mum would have been accused of child abandonment,” Lucas said.
“Never mind him,” Sully said, waving his big brother away. “I’m going to go show her the upstairs. Why don’t you show Angel here his flat.”
Without waiting for a response, Sully led Lux up the stairs while Lucas and Asher headed out the back door.
“I’m eager to show you your room. I’m sure you’ll love it.”
At the mezzanine, Lux looked down at the grandeur of the foyer and then up to the beauty of the ceiling above.
“This way,” Sully said, guiding her down the wide hall. He opened the double doors to a sundrenched room.
As a beautifully warm breeze blew in from the large window, Lux stared at the immense room and gasped. “Do you realize that the entirety of my house back in San Francisco would fit in this room? This is gi-normous.”
In addition to a large sturdy bed, the room had two lovely leather loveseats facing one another in a sitting area that boasted an elaborately ornate fireplace. On the other side of the room was a large desk and comfy chair and the far wall had three huge sliders that opened onto an immense terrace that overlooked the grounds.
