“Please,” she said, returning the beginning. “Please, Lucas.”
He obeyed. She closed her eyes in bliss as he entered her, finally releasing the pressure that had been mounting in her core. He rocked against her, and they moaned together, in unison. Not a woman and a Shifter man, but two lovers together in harmony.
“More,” she panted. He was happy to oblige, increasing his pressure. Her mind was roving over their moments together during the summer, the romantic brushes, the building tension, his muscled body in the sun. She reached for him, and he leaned down as she wrapped her arms around him. They were close, both of them, their breathing rocketing upwards as their hearts beat wildly in their chests. She could feel his pulse, his very rhythm.
Finally, they came together in a release as one. She let out a strangled cry, trying to keep it quiet since Star was sleeping. He nipped at her neck with a teasing bite as their perfect dance came to its climax. In a moment, they were breathing heavily, collapsed together on the bed. She rested her head on his chest. He leaned down to kiss her. Again and again and again. She hummed in happiness with him.
And the dance began again. Three times until the light of day began to break outside, the orange-pink sky flirting at them from outside a window she’d forgotten to close the blinds for. Star began to cry softly from her crib. Lisa was exhausted. She collapsed onto the bed and the pillows while Lucas discreetly slipped out of bed and headed down the hall. She heard him comforting Star and then heard nothing as she fell into a blissfully deep sleep.

Now, their mornings were filled with kisses and love-making and sharing the same bed. Lucas made dinner for Lisa and Star while Lisa typed madly away on her keyboard. The deadline was in a few days for her next novel.
“I have a good feeling about this one,” she confessed to him as he poured her another pot of coffee.
“I have all the faith in you,” he promised with a wink. He picked Star up in his arms and turned her around, eliciting a giggle. “I swear this child is magic.”
“Do you think?” Lisa asked, half-distracted by her screen. “It was the Great Wolf, after all.”
He nodded, admiring Star’s brilliant eyes. If he looked closely, he could nearly see flecks of gold in them, but perhaps it was wishful thinking. They would have to wait for her to grow older. In fact, he and Lisa had already decided they would be formally adopting the child. Lisa wouldn’t return to the city, and Lucas would split his time between the lake house and the clan.
“One big happy family,” he told star and touched her gently on the nose. He kissed Lisa’s cheek as she gave him a wry smile.
“Yes, Mr. Wolf,” she said and leaned forward for a kiss on the lips.
Perhaps the Great Wolf had blessed Lucas with more for than he ever imagined.
