F*ck Perfect (MindF*ck Book 2)

“Good for you. My parents have always instilled in me that’s it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.”
“Yeah, it’s really fuckin’ awesome,” I say nonchalantly, not giving a damn about what all is going on in my ex-teacher’s life.
“Bryce!” Ava elbows me in the ribs.
“I‘m sorry.”
“No,” Staci shakes her head, “don’t apologize for his behavior. Bryce was always known to get in trouble.”
”Un-fuckin’-believable,” I laugh then grab Ava’s hand. “Baby, we should get going. We have one more stop before I take you home.”
Ava frowns up at me as if telling me non-verbally that she doesn’t appreciate my behavior.
“Look, I totally understand. I didn’t mean to interrupt your date. I saw a familiar face and wanted to come over and say hi. It was really nice to see you again, Bryce.” She reaches out and touches my upper arm, squeezing it a little. I pull away and watch her eyes flicker with shock before plastering on a smile. “Well, it was nice to meet you, Ava.”
“Yes, nice to meet you too. Good luck with school and everything.”
“Thank you. You two enjoy the rest of your night. I should probably go find my husband. He’s somewhere around here.” She waves goodbye then disappears into a crowd of fairgoers.
“You didn’t have to be so rude.” Ava stands with her hands on her hips, glaring up at me.
I bite back my response and slide my hands into the waistband of her skirt, pulling her forward. “I’m sorry. I just know we’re limited on time, and I have one more place I want to take you.”
Her pouty lips slowly transform into a smile. “Really, where?”
“It’s a surprise.” I press my lips against hers and glance up to see Staci, several feet away, watching us.
“Now, where I’m taking you is top secret. That’s why you must keep your eyes closed. If anyone finds out about this place, the punishment is death by tickling.”
“Okay,” Ava giggles.
“But seriously, I’ve never shown this place to anyone. My uncle used to bring me, Morgan, and Clay here to—“
“To what?” Ava’s eyebrows raise with curiosity, and her eyes remain closed.
“I’ve said too much.” I smile to myself then pull my car off the road and put it into park. “Stay here.”
Ava nods.
I exit the car, fold my chair down, and reach for the items I have stashed in the backseat. I close the door and rush up the grassy hill to set up Ava’s surprise. When I return, I find her, still obedient, with her eyes closed and her hands laced together in her lap. I open her door, startling her for a moment.
“It’s just me.” I reach in and grab her hands to help her out. I lock the doors then guide her up the hill from behind, my hands steady on her hips. When we reach the top, I brush my lips against the side of her neck, and like always, she shivers. “Open your eyes.”
“A drive-in movie?” Her hands cover her mouth in genuine surprise. “And a picnic?” She looks down at the blanket I have laid out for us with lamps lit by tea candles surrounding it. “I can’t believe you did all of this.” She turns around and wraps her arms tightly around my neck. “Thank you.” She lifts on her tiptoes and pecks me on the lips. “What movie are we watching?”
“Just some lame-ass movie called The Notebook.”
“They’re playing one of my favorite movies?” Her eyes widen.
“Yes, and it’ll start in five minutes. When I heard they would be showing it tonight, I knew I had to bring you.”
“I love it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she murmurs between pecking my lips.
“You’re welcome.”
After releasing me, she takes a seat on the blanket and rummages through the picnic basket filled with food kept cool with icepacks. Ava decides on a ham and cheese sandwich, compliments of my aunt Betty Jean, grapes, and a bottle of water. I position myself behind her, stealing bites of her sandwich and grapes because I didn’t have much of an appetite, and we watch the movie from the top of the hill.
“I’m stuffed.” Ava runs a hand over her bare stomach, then rests her back against my chest.
I kiss her cheek. “Shhh I’m trying to watch the movie,” I joke.
“Shut up.” She hits me playfully.
As we watch the movie, I try my best to enjoy it, but my thoughts get the best of me, and I begin to think about a part of my past that I’m not proud of.
“I can’t do this anymore.”
Staci’s lips press against mine. “I told you our secret is safe. I thought you wanted this.” Her fingers run through my hair as if trying to soothe me, but they don’t. Do you know how many guys your age would love to be in your shoes right now? I hear all the locker room talk about me in the halls, so I’m well aware that the majority of the teenage boys that attend this school would love to be here with me right now.”
“Then maybe you should go find one them because I can’t do this anymore.” I force her off of me and stand up. I pull my pants up, with the condom we just used still on.”
“So, was this some goodbye fuck to you?” She tugs her skirt down.
“Call it what you want, but this won’t happen again.”
“Is that right? So, where are you going to stay when your dad decides to beat you so bad that you can’t show up to school for several days?”
I don’t answer and continue to fix my clothes.
“Who’s going to take care of you now, huh?” She pushes me and I stumble back against her desk. “I was the one who took you to the hospital when he broke your ribs. Do you remember that?”
“Yes, I fuckin’ remember. So what? That gives you the right to fuck your student?”
“Don’t you dare throw that in my face. You never turned me down, so don’t go screaming that I took advantage of you. I’ll make sure that it’s my word against yours. You’re the one with a rap sheet of getting into fights, getting caught in the girls’ bathroom doing God knows what, and let’s not forget the problems you have going on at home. Who do you think they’ll believe? You or me?”
She grips my jaw and forces me to look at her.
I shove her hand away. She laughs then takes the condom wrapper off her desk and throws it into her purse. “Make sure you flush that.” She points to my rubber-covered dick. “I’ll see you in the morning.” She unlocks her classroom door and leaves. I sit there, listening to the sound of her high heels click-clack against the empty hallway floors of the school. It’s Friday and everyone is long gone, starting their weekend off by hanging out with friends or attending the last football game of the season while I sit here half-naked, trying to figure out my way out of a mess I didn’t intend to create.
“Bryce.”
“Hmm?”
“The movie is over.”
I shake away the thoughts that I’ve tried to keep locked away for an eternity. I look ahead and see three cars still parked in front of the large movie screen. How long have I been sitting here in a daze?
“You okay?” Her fingers move through my hair, and they genuinely calm me, unlike someone else’s.
I grip the fabric of her skirt and tighten it between my fists. Just tell her, damn it.
“Talk to me.” Her hands palm my face, forcing me to look into her eyes. “You’ve been quiet ever since we left the fair.”
“I’ve got a lot on my mind.”
“Okay, like what?”
“Everything. Graduation. College. Us.” And Staci. But, of course, I don’t say the last part because I fuckin’ chicken out.
“What about us?” Her hands drop from my face down to her lap, and she looks somewhat terrified at what I’m about to say.
I slide my arms around her waist and nuzzle the side of her neck. “I’m not breaking up with you if that’s what you’re thinking.”
I feel her body instantly melt against mine, and her head tilts further to the left, giving me total access to the right side of her neck.

p; “Where do you see this thing going between us?” I gently suck on the side of her neck, cursing against her skin when she squirms over my erection. “Does it end after we graduate, or do we continue until the end of the summer?”
“Why should we put a time limit on it?” She releases a shuttering breath. “I say we take it day by day.”
“Day by day?” I murmur against her skin.
She grips my strands and tugs my head back, aligning her lips with mine. “Yes. Day by day,” she promises me then smooths her hands down the sides of my face and kisses me beneath the stars.
Chapter 20
Bryce
Two weeks later
When I thought I placed my heart in a cage, locking in it up and throwing away the key, never to let anyone have access to it ever, Ava somehow managed to pick the lock, steal my heart, and promise to take it with her. In less than a month, she leaves for Georgia to join her best friend, Kennedy at Spelman College while I head to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to attend Middle Tennessee State University.
Fuck, I’m going to miss her like an insomniac misses sleep. I sulk from across the table of a very expensive restaurant where the entrées are over fifty dollars a plate and the waiters unravel your cloth napkins and lay them over your lap for you. An all-expense-paid graduation dinner gathering put together for Ava, her two close friends, and her boyfriend, sponsored by her parents. If Kennedy were here, my cousin Clay would be here too, then I would have someone to talk to. But instead, I’m seated between Ava’s parents, answering her mom’s question with a lie when I’m asked why my parents didn’t attend me and my sister’s graduation. The flu. Yes, that was my lame excuse. I could tell her father wasn’t buying my shit just by the way he looks at me as if I were the infamous Pinocchio himself. Long, wooden nose and all. It’s like he can see all my transgressions written on a whiteboard inside my head.
I swish my Coke and ice around in my glass. Fuck, how I wish I had a shot or two of Crown Royal in it. Anything to make this night fast forward to where I can have Ava all to my fuckin’ self. I count down to the excruciating seconds when I’ll be able to peel that thin, beige knit cocktail dress from her body. Maybe I’ll ask her to keep those sexy-ass, strappy heels on that wind up her calf muscles.
Ava drags her attention from our senior class yearbook that she, Morgan, and Hunter are reminiscing over. Ava looks up from the page, to me, and gives me a shy smile before her attention is diverted, this time, by Hunter. I school my features, hoping that it’s not obvious that I’m undressing her with my eyes. I mean, the preacher himself is sitting next to me, and he’s been watching me like a hunter waiting to pull the trigger on wild game. I groan then discreetly adjust my dick and balls beneath the table for some relief.
After another hour of Ava opening graduation gifts, eating dessert, tears and laughter shared about high school memories, Ava’s parents pay the tab. We walk out of the restaurant where Ava says her goodbyes to her parents, promising them that she won’t be out too late, knowing that she has church in the morning.
“So, are ya’ll ready to get fucked up tonight?” Hunter links his arms with Ava’s and Morgan’s as we walk to his Mercedes. I trail not far behind the trio, kicking at rocks in the parking lot. Why did I bother coming again? It’s not like I’ve had a chance to get a fuckin’ word in all night. I was probably better off chillin’ with Clay, get him out the house for some late-night mud riding so he can stop moping around about Kennedy. Shit, will this happen to me and Ava when we have to part ways? I pull my pack of cigarettes out then soon remember that there’s a no-smoking policy in Hunter’s car.
“Bryce, you’ve been real quiet tonight.” Hunter uses his key fob to unlock his car. “You feeling okay?” He turns and studies me for a moment.
Oh, now you pay attention to me.
“I’ll be all right. I think I might be coming down with some summer cold,” I lie then open the back passenger door and slide in behind the driver’s seat. I lean my head back and close my eyes. This is going to be a long fuckin ride especially if they ignore my ass—again.
“Hey.” Ava’s lips brush against my cheek. Just the slight touch sends shivers straight to my dick. Her hand finds mine on the seat between us and places it on her thigh. I run my fingers along the satiny skin of her inner thigh. “Are we okay?” she whispers, turning my head to face her.
Will we be once I tell her the truth about Staci? Could she forgive me for all my past fuck-ups and still want to be with me?
“Why wouldn’t we be?” I respond.
She studies me for a moment. “You haven’t said much tonight.”
I laugh. “Only because y’all practically ignored my ass tonight. It was kind of hard trying to get a word in when Hunter and my sister wouldn’t let me.”
“I’m sorry. It’s just that Morgan is getting on a plane tomorrow, and Hunter will be leaving the day after that to spend his summer in Alabama with his mom. I didn’t mean to ignore you. I just don’t know when I’ll see them again.
I suck in a breath when she gropes my dick through my slacks.
“You’ll have me all summer.” She sucks my earlobe between her lips.
“Fuck.” I grit my teeth to suppress a moan. I look ahead and catch Hunter’s eyes on us in the rearview mirror.
“I miss having you inside me.” Her lips trail down my neck.
The car swerves, followed by my sister yelling at Hunter to keep his eyes on the road.
It’s been several days since we’ve had sex because she was on her period.
Ava sneaks her hand inside my pants and wraps her cool fingers around my dick and, fuck, does it feel good.
The car comes to a stop, and I curse under my breath when I see we’ve pulled up in front of Hunter’s lake house. Ava slides her hand out of my pants as the dim lights in the car come on, ruining the moment.
“To be continued,” she whispers to me then grabs my hand and we exit the car.
Once again, Hunter has pulled off the party of all parties with the right decorations, food, and booze. My view is temporarily obstructed by a bunch of pink, silver, and white balloons filled with confetti, floating down from the ceiling. As soon as the latex fog clears away, my eyes lock on Ava dressed back in her cap, gown, and valedictorian sole, taking selfies with Hunter and Morgan.
“Man, can you believe we’re finally out of school? Damn, I didn’t think our senior year would ever end.” Paul, the former goalie of our soccer team takes a seat on the coffee table in front of me, blocking my view of Ava.
“Yeah, man.” I look at his disheveled appearance and can tell he was already one drink away from passing out on his ass. “Just counting down to when I can pack my shit up and move on campus.” The moment I step foot on the campus of Middle Tennessee, the home of the Blue Devils, I think I might kiss the ground.
“Shit, man, I know what you mean.” Paul leans to his left, about to fall off the table, but he quickly regains his seating.
“Think you’ve had enough to drink, man?”
Paul laughs then belches. “Naw, man, I’m just getting started. Whenever my girlfriend decides to show up, I’m going to take advantage of one of these many rooms in here, and we’re going to have our own fuck fest.”
I wanted to tell him so bad that his girlfriend Tate was already here. Somewhere. Ten minutes probably hadn’t passed when she was trying to sit on my lap and convince me to take her upstairs and fuck her, but, of course, I turned her down because Ava owns my dick now.
I stand from my chair, and I spot Morgan and Hunter standing at the counter in the kitchen laughing and talking while mixing a concoction of drinks. I look around and that’s when I see Ava standing by the side door that leads out onto the deck. She smiles then waves at me, and I nod in her direction, letting her know that I’m coming. Then she disappears through the door.
“Paul, I’ll catch you later, man.” We do our signature shake that all the soccer players do, but it turns out to be a sloppy mess because of P
aul’s hand coordination that can’t seem to catch up with his drunk state.
“All right, man,” he slurs. “If you see Tate, can you tell her that I’m looking for her?”
“Will do.” I walk off and make my way out the side door Ava exited moments ago. I’m greeted by an orange dusky sky as soon as I step onto the wood planks of the deck. I look out over the landscape and spot Ava chatting with some of our classmates seated in lawn chairs around a fire pit, then she strolls down a grassy area that leads to a small boat dock. I make my move down the deck stairs, cutting across the grass and bypassing our classmates huddled around the fire pit. When I get to the dock, Ava stands at the edge, now barefoot. She turns around when she hears my footsteps creek against the dock and does a slow striptease as she removes her dress, bra, and panties. I marvel at the way the setting sun dims over every inch of her body.
“Don’t keep me waiting,” she commands before diving into the water.
I look around, noticing that old trees weeping over the water conceal us. I walk to the edge of the dock and witness Ava emerge from the water looking like a Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model, sans the swimsuit. Shit! How I would love to be the water droplets slithering down her skin right now.
“I’m waiting, Bryce,” she giggles then disappears under the water again.
I strip down until I’m standing there naked with a boner too big to cover up with my hands. I get a running head start then cannonball into the water. When I come up for air, I open my eyes and spot Ava wading in the water a couple of feet away. I duck under the water once again and swim over to her. When my body comes to the surface, I pull her slick body against mine. She wraps her arms and legs tight around me. The water isn’t deep, so I stand, hugging her in my arms.
Ava stares at me and plays with my wet strands. “Can I ask you something?”
“You can ask me anything.”
