Jerry’s cabin burned to the ground. He was officially - and finally - gone for good.

The guys were standing around Miller’s bed as he started to come out of a deep trance from the painkillers. For a second he swore he saw Griffin standing there, but the image faded and switched to Trev.

“What happened to you?” he asked Trev.

“Rode them out of town,” Trev said.

  “What?”

“Jerry’s guys. The black clothes guys,” Gaige said. “They came after everyone. Trev led them on a chase. Crazy fucker stole one of their trucks.”

“I had them too. Then they ganged up on me and tried beating me to death. So I laughed each time they hit me. Then they just stopped. They had police scanners and radios. I heard that there was a fire on the mountain and I thought the worst for you, brother.”

“You really put yourself on the line for us,” Miller said. “I want you to have a cut. To wear the name and logo again, brother. I’m serious. Full-time spot at the table.”

“Aye,” Shay said. “We can vote right now.”

  “I’m in,” Jace said.

“No,” Trev said. “I’m here to help. He’s gone, but this isn’t over yet. The club has a lot to do. I’ll be there, for everyone. I have my leather cut. I have my memories. I don’t want anyone to forget about Griffin.”

  Miller nodded. “Where’s Ella?”

“I’m right here,” a voice said.

Jace and Erik broke apart and Ella stood with Beck.

“Everyone out,” Miller said. “Give me some time with my family.”

Gaige grabbed Miller’s hand. “Saw this on the floor… make it right.”

Miller felt the diamond ring in his hand, again.

“Come here,” Miller said to Ella.

The first thing he did was pull her down for a kiss. The second thing he did was kiss Beck’s little head.

  “I’m so sorry,” Miller whispered.

“Don’t do that,” Ella said. “There’s no reason for that. It’s over, like you promised. I’m safe. Beck is safe. We’re safe.”

“There’s a lot to clean up. Stories to get straight. But it’s okay now. He can’t hurt you, darling. You shouldn’t even be here with us. It looks bad.”

“I don’t care,” Ella said. “I’ll tell the truth of who he was. I’m not afraid, Miller. You make me not afraid. And that… that scares me. It sounds stupid…”

“No,” Miller said. “You make me afraid. I’m not even afraid of death. But I am afraid of losing you. And Beck.”

  “You won’t.”

Miller opened his hand. “So make it right, darling. With me. Fuck all the time we lost when we were apart. We have the whole future ahead of us.”

Ella blinked as she stared at the ring.

“I want you forever. Wear the diamond you were supposed to for all these years. Be my wife. Be my everything.”

  “Yes,” Ella said. “Miller, yes.”

Ella took the diamond ring and finally slid it on her finger. It looked perfect on her. Miller grinned, picturing Ella wearing nothing but that diamond ring. That would be his first order of business once out of the hospital. Then he’d plan the wedding Ella truly deserved. Because she’d be marrying a man who would take a bullet for her… a man who would offer his heart in a way he never knew how until now.

“And you, little dude,” Miller said, letting Beck grab his finger. “You’re my wing man on this thing. I can’t do this without you.”

Beck pulled at Miller’s finger and bit him.

Ella burst in laughter and then started to cry.

Miller pulled her - and Beck - to the bed and he held them both.

Outside the room, he had his brothers.

Inside, he now had his family.

  ***

Blaine sat up in his bed. A sheet barely covered the goods of his naked body. Hell, when flexed hard enough, his dick jumped under the sheet, looking like some kind of monster ready to attack.

Fucking right, ladies. This is monster that hid under your bed… now it’s in your mouth… between your thighs…

There was a woman curled up at the end of the bed, sleeping. Another woman on the floor. The too – of course – were both naked.

It was just the way to live.

Sex was the greatest high in the world. That, and the open road. Hell, the open road hadn’t been so much lately, with all the wars raging. Yeah, Chief Jerry was finally put out of his fucking misery, but that meant dick for the MC. Maybe for Miller it was all good. He’d get to play family now with that sweet ass, Ella.

Man, she was fucking good looking. And those big tits… full of milk…

  Blaine licked his lips.

  He shook his head.

There were just so many women and really not enough time.

Then again, what did it all mean?

  Not a fucking thing.

Blaine reached over and opened the nightstand drawer. Most people would think the drawer would be full of condoms and sex toys and lubes and shit.

  No.

There was a little diamond there.

If anyone dug deeper, they’d find the pictures.

Nobody got to see the pictures.

Blaine would fucking kill anyone who tried to see the pictures.

Holding the little diamond ring, Blaine curled his lip.

A little girl used to wear that ring.

Blaine had given it to her.

She was the most beautiful girl in the world. Hell, only matched by her mother, and that was because they looked so much alike.

Don’t get the wrong idea… Blaine was a sick and twisted asshole. But he had to be. It was the only way to hide the pain. To his the secrets of his past life.

A life when he had a wife and a daughter. But they were killed.

Funny thing – they were killed because of what Blaine used to do before he went outlaw. When he used to put on a badge and stand on the other side of justice.

His family was dead because he was once a cop.

Thank you so much for taking this wild ride with me!

  OUTLAW REVENGE

A Back Down Devil MC Novel

Emily didn’t want to go watch a bunch of bikers fight each other, and by the time the fight is over, her best friend is shot dead and Emily finds herself clutching the leather cut of a sexy guy named Gaige as she’s on the back of his motorcycle, escaping gunfire.

As Vice President of Back Down Devil MC, Gaige Gaen’s world is consumed by the club, the life, and finding a way to make it all work. The last thing he needs on his plate - or in his bed - is a woman like Emily. He can’t stop looking at her, and he definitely can’t stop touching her. He promises to avenge the death of Emily’s best friend, Rachel, but then the situation takes a turn for the worse when Rachel’s father - a rich man hell bent on revenge - shows up and wants answers that the MC doesn’t have.

Emily is in fear of returning to a past she had escaped. She and Gaige can’t seem to stop their feelings for each other, and as her dangerous past digs its way into the present, Gaige and Back Down Devil are now in the line of fire.

The war in Emily and Gaige’s hearts rage on, but the war outside needs to be fought… the question is, who is going to make it out alive?

  one.

Night had fallen, and it was time to get to business.

Gaige put a cigarette to his lips and lit it. He took the first drag to make sure the smoke was lit; the second drag was for the taste. He then handed the lit cigarette to his best friend, Nate.

“Let me get another one,” Gaige said.

He repeated the same process and then crouched down. He balanced the lit cigarette on the edge of a small fence. He reached up and took the other smoke from Nate and did the same.

When he stood up, he patted Nate on the back. “Come on, bro, let’s hang back.”

The two of them walked to their motorcycles, hidden in the darkness of Frelen, California. The night was comfortable, not too cool and not too warm.

Gaige leaned against his motorcycle and crossed his arms.

“When is this going down?” Nate asked.

“Ten minutes,” Gaige said. “Two are coming up from the south to cut the deal. They’ll see the lit smokes and come to investigate.”

  “Then we shoot?” Nate asked.

  “Yeah, bro, we shoot.”

“I need a cigarette,” Nate said.

Gaige put a hand out. “Can’t. We’re invisible right now. Keep it that way.”

Gaige looked around and let out a sigh. So much shit had been going on within the motorcycle club lately it was hard to keep up. Maybe there had never been a time when things were easy and smooth for the Back Down Devil MC, but now, rightfully so, everything going on fell on his shoulders he was second in line to the head of the table for the entire club. Miller still had plenty of life in his aged body, but some of his decisions lately had been a little crazy. He took risks as if he was in his twenties, putting a lot of guys in danger. Then again, with danger came money. Lots of money. And with money came power. Lots of power.

“We have to keep this place cleaned up,” Gaige said. “It’s important for all of us.”

  “Miller okay with all this?”

“He wants these assholes taken out. Doesn’t matter how we do it. Hopefully this will send a message.”

“Speaking of sending,” Nate said. “What if they show up with more than two?”

Gaige pushed from his motorcycle and punched Nate in the shoulder. “We improvise then, bro. Don’t worry. They’ll be here…”

In the distance there was a rumbling.

“Sounds like they’re here right now,” Nate said.

“Just stay still and follow my lead,” Gaige said. He took his gun out and looked off in the distance.

Lights followed the sounds. Gaige counted one, two, three lights.

  “Fuck,” he whispered.

“We got more than planned,” Nate said.

“Not a problem. Run it the same.”

As arranged, the motorcycles pulled to the side of the road and cut their engines. Their voices kicked up, but Gaige couldn’t make out what they were saying. He started to walk, tugging at Nate’s leather to get his attention to follow.

Quietly, they crept along the ground, Gaige keeping his eyes on the men as they approached the fence.

“Hello,” one of them called out.

  “Yo, guys,” another said.

“What the fuck is this?” the third voice asked. “Where are they?”

“We’re a minute early,” the first one said. “Trust me, this will work. We’ll get the drugs and the money.”

“Hey, what’s that right there?” one asked.

The three men spotted the lit cigarettes. It was exactly what Gaige needed to have happen. Walking slow, he and Nate approached the men as they got the fence.

“What the… it’s cigarettes,” one of them said.

“Is that a sign?” another asked.

  “Yeah, it is,” Gaige said.

  All hell broke loose.

The men turned, drawing their weapons. Gaige shot once, taking the one closest to him to the ground with a bullet through his head. Nate shot and one of the two remaining men let out a groan of pain. The men started to return fire, but they were so flustered and the shots really weren’t aimed. Gaige took a chance and ran forward, tackling one of the men. He hit the guy in the face with his gun. When the guy tried to fight back Gaige hit him again and again…

“Stay the fuck down,” Gaige ordered.

Nate came by Gaige and grabbed the third man by the shirt. He pulled him to his gun and pointed it right between his eyes.

  Gaige stood up.

  “What’s the plan?” Nate asked.

  “Pull the trigger,” Gaige said.

That’s all Nate needed to hear. The gun went off, the guy’s head snapped back, and when Nate let him go, the guy collapsed to the ground.

  Dead.

  That left one guy alive.

Nate pointed his gun to the man and Gaige grabbed his arm.

  “Don’t do it,” Gaige said.

  “What? Why?”

“Let’s send a message,” Gaige said.

He reached down and grabbed the man by his shirt. He pulled him up and in the moonlight Gaige could see the blood rushing down his face.

“You want to run drugs through Frelen?”
Gaige asked.

  “Fuck you,” the man said.

Gaige slammed his head forward and connected hard with the man’s face. The man cried out.

“Let’s try it again,” Gaige said. “Do you want to run drugs through Frelen?”

“I’m not running shit,” the man said. “I was just…”

  “Nate, help me here.”

Gaige let the man’s shirt go and he crashed back to the ground. Nate came with his massive, heavy boot and kicked the man in the side of the head. The thud was sickening and made Gaige wince.

The man grabbed his face and head. “Okay, okay…”

“You tell everyone you know that you don’t fuck with Back Down Devil MC. Got it?”

  “Fine,” the man said.

“You’re leaving tonight alive so you can deliver that message. If I find out you don’t deliver that message, I’m going to find you.” Gaige reached to his side and pulled out a long knife. “Then I’m going to cut out your fucking tongue.”

“Okay, man, okay,” the man said.

“Get the fuck out of here,” Gaige said.

The man scrambled to his feet and limped away, holding his face.

Gaige looked down to the bodies on the ground and shook his head.

  “Fucking scum,” Gaige said.

He crouched down and put his gun into the hand of the man he shot. When he nodded to Nate, Nate did the same. There would be no fingerprints from the Back Down Devil MC since Gaige and Nate were both wearing leather gloves.

Gaige stood and turned. He put a hand out and Nate took it.

  “Nice kill, bro,” Gaige said.

  “You too, man.”

Gaige went to the fence and grabbed the two cigarettes. He handed one to Nate and kept one for himself. They were still lit. Gaige took a deep drag and ran his fingers through his hair.

The night was still young and Gaige’s heart was pumping.

He was in the mood to fight.

  two.

Rachel opened the door to the apartment balancing two coffee containers and her car keys dangling from her mouth. Emily rushed to aid her friend, taking the top coffee. She opened it and sipped it, the hot liquid burning her tongue. Emily didn’t care, she needed the caffeine. She hadn’t told Rachel yet, but she hadn’t slept much in the past week or so. Not after finding out the news about her ex-boyfriend. But time would pass and so would the feelings that kept Emily awake at night. She had already started looking into another apartment, and if need be, it would be time for a name change.
