“What about the prospect?”
“Get rid of him too. We need to send a message to Rogue about who’s really in charge around here. El Presidente is tired of the Idols thinking they own this town.”
The man grabbed me by the hair, yanking me up. I cried out at the pain, stumbling to find my footing. He never even bothered to look at me. “My pleasure.”
I barely had a second to scream before his fist came at me again, sending white-hot pain streaking through my skull before my vision began to fade, and the room drifted away.

AXEL
I parked my bike next to Pop’s, practically whistling as I walked through the doors at Raven’s Nest. I don’t think I’d been this happy since before my mom died.
“Oh good, you’re here,” Ryder greeted me. “Now, we’re just waiting on Blaze and Cruz.”
“Blaze should be here any minute,” I assured him. “I don’t know about Cruz, though.”
Ryder looked at me funny. “Really? Didn’t you see him at your girl’s house?”
Now, I was the one confused. “What the fuck are you talkin’ about?”
“Cruz said he needed to go relieve Blaze, said Blaze called him, and said Trista needed him late last night. I was with him at the warehouse when he got the call.”
A knot began to form in the pit of my stomach. “Blaze’s bike was still at Paige’s this mornin’. I didn’t see any sign of Cruz.”
Ryder’s eyes widened as he pulled out his phone. A few seconds later, he shook his head, cursin’ under his breath. “Fuck. Both are going straight to voicemail.”
I pulled out my own. “Hold on, let me try Paige.” It didn’t even ring once before voicemail picked up.
“We need to get the fuck over there. Now.”
