“Yes...we’re...banging it out. Let us get back to it, we’re almost at a breakthrough.”

Her eyes snap open as she hangs up the phone, tossing it to the side and grits her teeth, slamming her other hand to my chest, as she rides me until her sweat drips onto my chest, her legs shake from the sides of my hips and she falls forward, panting.

I take the lead now, thrusting up into her a few times before I empty myself inside of her and we stay there, a mess of sweaty tangled limbs, sucking in each other’s hot breaths until we come back down to earth.

“A secret baby,” she whispers, slowly sitting up to look at me.

  “What?”

“Our story needs a twist. How about a secret baby. The hero got someone pregnant back in the day and that could be their wedge.”

I flinch, knowing she doesn’t know the whole story about my father and Chloe’s mother but she knows me too well and recognizes it. Her eyes widen and she scrambles off my lap, putting my t-shirt back over her body.

“Shit. Why did that strike a nerve? Did that...did that happen to you?”

“What?” I gasp. “No. No. My father...you remember when I told you Chloe is my half sister?"

  "Yeah?"

"Well when my mother and father were...well, dating I guess, Chloe’s mother came and kind of drove a wedge between them, finally telling him about Chloe. It turns out Chloe was my father’s, he didn't know but him and my mother got through it, I just...that’s a little too close to home for me.”

I rub the back of my neck, seeing the relief flood her face.

“Of course, no we can totally go a different way. I had no idea, I’m sorry. Why did you never tell me that?” she asks, sitting back down on the couch, pulling her feet underneath her body.

I shrug, sitting back down next to her, leaning my head on my palm against the back of the couch.

“Not sure. I guess my parents just...I don’t like to think of them ever having a hard time in their life together. In my eyes, they’re perfect together and I know that’s not realistic but I like to keep the hope that it is.”

“Well you could always look at it in a way that somethin’ tried to tear them apart but they were too in love, too strong for it to happen.”

I glance up, seeing Jenna smile and I smile too.

“That’s a great way to look at it actually. They are both fighters so it seems fitting that anything that came their way they would smash out of sight,” I laugh.

Her smile slowly fades as she plays with the hem of my t-shirt.

“It’s contagious, your parents love. Makin’ a believer, even out of me.”

When she finally looks up I see the hurt in her eyes, the heartbreak and I know right then and there she’s not telling me everything. There is no way that turmoil in her eyes is just from her parents leaving her behind, there has to be more.

“You...you wanna talk about anything? You seem upset.”

Her sadness quickly fades as she gives me a small smile and shakes her head.

“I’m fine. In the mood to write. Let’s try and concentrate, make sure we do what we came here to do.”

She stands, walking into the dining room table and I feel the coldness she leaves in her wake. Writing. That’s what we came here to do. Not what we’ve been doing she probably meant to say. Too bad for her, I rarely do what I’m told.

  Jenna

I shovel the chinese food in my mouth, the white sheet covering my naked body underneath it.

“See, this is nice. We can be friends,” Lorenzo chides, sitting next to me, equally as naked as he pushes his chopsticks filled with lo mein into his mouth.

“Are you thinkin’ about my pussy?” I retort, arching an eyebrow at him.

  “Yes,” he answers without hesitation.

I sigh and shake my head with a laugh.

  “Then that’s not friendship.”

We continue to eat in silence, the weight of going back to the real world tomorrow hovering over us like a black cloud.

“So, did you cancel your flight yet? Spending Christmas with the Morgan’s?”

I swallow my food, trying not to show the vulnerability in my gaze because I want nothing more than to spend a Christmas with a family. Something I haven’t done in years and something I rarely remember anymore from my short lived happy childhood.

  “It’s...too coupley.”

“Well, my mom already expects you and this was all asked before this weekend even happened. That wasn’t me asking, that was actually me telling you.”

  “Bossy much?”

  “Yes. Want ice cream?”

He stands, taking away my empty carton of food and I nod, lifting the sheet higher to cover my naked breasts.

He comes back with two small cartons of ice cream, handing me one with a spoon and I dig in, watching his tongue lick off the ice cream from his plump lips.

"I thought you liked Brownie Devotion?" I ask, arching an eyebrow at his mint chocolate chip.

"I do, but so do you."

  "Hmm, chivalrous."

I smile, scooping a spoon of my Brownie Devotion and putting it to his lips as he takes the bite.

"Remember a few months back when I called you to watch me kill the spider in my bathroom?" I giggle.

"As if I could do anything if it ate you alive like you thought it would," Lorenzo laughs, rolling his eyes.

"Hey, I needed to make sure someone knew how I died if it did eat me alive."

  "You're nuts."

"What about you! Sending me your cookin' videos in nothin' but your apron!"

"Watson, you love my cooking videos."

"I did end up makin' that taco lasagna one night," I mumble.

  "What was that?"

"Oh hush. You know you tried my lavender bath bomb routine. You can't deny it."

Lorenzo laughs, dropping his head back as I watch his chest heave.

"Shit, I did. I love the smell of lavender and the bath bomb makes the water so...slippery."

"You perv! It's supposed to be relaxin'!"

"Oh, I was relaxed," Lorenzo smirks.

I lean my head on Lorenzo's shoulder as my laughs slowly subside and my body melts into his. Having him near me now after only being able to have him from the other side of the screen is so nice and letting it go is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

“Want to see the teasers I made while you were napping this afternoon?” Lorenzo whispers, breaking me out of my thoughts.

I nod as he sits up, reaching for his phone and handing it to me.

"God, these are gorgeous, Enzo!" I gasp.

I go to swipe to the next one when a text message pops up on the top of the screen and I accidentally click it. I suck in air, a pair of huge tits struggling to fit into a black lace bra covers the screen with a woman's middle finger in her cleavage and pink tipped hair cascading down her chest.

"Jesus. Who did you piss off?"

I hand him his phone back, hating the feeling that creeps up my spine. I shouldn’t be jealous, I really shouldn't be jealous but I am. Dammit.

He’s confused as he reaches for his phone and when he sees the screen, he tosses the phone away as if it's covered in man eating germs.

"Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, I can't unsee that. Unsee! Unsee!"

He groans, squeezing his eyes shut as he runs a hand up and down the front of his face. His phone buzzes from the bed and I see "Ma" come across the screen.

  "Here, it's your mama."

I slide the call open, putting it on speaker for him.

"Lorenzo! Don't open that text message! Delete it! That was meant for your father! This fucking Android is so hard to get used to!"

"Ma, too late! Come on! Can you guys stop doing that shit!"

"Sorry baby. I got about thirty-two more years on my sentence. You'll understand when you knock someone up someday.”

  “Doubt it.”

Soraya laughs and Lorenzo looks at me as I try to stifle my own.

  “H
ow’s everything going over there?

“It’s going,” he replies, running his hand down his face.

“Is Jenna keeping you in line? I really like her, she’s good for you.”

"She can hear everything you're saying. She also saw your...ya know, those."

I laugh, leaning near the phone.

"Hi, Mrs. Morgan. Great bra, by the way and I love your hair."

"Hi Jenna. Well thank you, matches my mood."

I laugh along with her as Lorenzo groans, rubbing his face again, not amused in the slightest.

  "Stop, please!"

"I hope my son isn't giving you too much trouble."

"The only trouble lately is you," Lorenzo snaps at his mama.

"Lorenzo Morgan. It was an honest mistake and they're tits for christ sake. They kept you alive when you were a baby, don't forget that."

  "Believe me, I'm trying to."

"Okay, well I have to run. Have fun you two."

She hangs up and I start laughing, pointing at Lorenzo.

"Two words for you. Tongue ring."

“Hilarious. Let’s finish this shit, get my mind off...this,” he groans, tossing his phone to the other side of the bed.

“Do you think we can work and no play?” I ask, arching my eyebrow at him.

  He laughs, shaking his head.

“You can try and resist me. I’ll just type with a bag over my head, cut out some holes for my eyes.”

“Shut up,” I laugh, grabbing a throw pillow and tossing it at him.

He smiles, batting it away as he grabs his laptop from next to him, plopping it on his lap and starts to type. I follow his lead, opening a new document and start to type too.

They say write what you know, and boy do I fucking know. I know what Lorenzo's face looks like when he comes. I know what his moans sound like as I suck his cock. I know what his tongue feels like against my pussy. I know Lorenzo Morgan and that's the problem.

I close my eyes, my fingers on the keyboard typing away as if someone else is controlling them. I feel every single word that I am bleeding onto these pages, the highs and lows, the passion and love. Love. Fuck. Why did this have to turn into...love?

  Chapter 9

  Lorenzo

I take one last look at the cabin as Jenna and I grab our things and walk out to the car. The sun is setting now and we won’t get back to my apartment until after dinner, so we agreed to stop for food on the way back. We finished our manuscript a few hours ago, both of us passing out on the couch, exhausted and fried from the weekend.

My mind isn’t the only thing exhausted as every step to the car ignites a soreness in my body that makes me grin with pride. Jenna is fucking contagious and I knew this past year if we ever met in real life, she would steal everything from my lungs, everything from my body and I would let her. This is so much more than I thought it would be. I don’t want her to go back to Nashville and if she does, I want to fucking go with her. I feel my body fighting with itself, knowing she needs space and time to process what went on this weekend but also fearful that the time apart is going to make her forget how fucking magical we are together.

I start the car and we take the first hour in silence before stopping at a pizza place, grabbing a pie and eating in the car before we finish the drive. When we finally pull up to my apartment, I find a spot in the front, glancing over at Jenna and smile at the sight before me.

Her lips are parted and little snores escape her nose as her head rolls to the side of the headrest, causing her to sniffle and close her mouth for a second before it opens again. I don’t want to disturb her, knowing that ride probably wore her out; our routine was off this weekend. We wrote until the late hours of the night, waking early on little sleep coupled with a whole lot of physical activity. I know she keeps herself in shape and I do too, but what we did this weekend was a fucking marathon neither of us trained for.

I sigh, opening my door and feel my legs protest the movement as I slowly walk to her side of the car and open the door. She barely stirs as I wrap an arm under her legs, the other around her back and lift her, slamming the door shut with my foot. Luckily, someone is walking out of my apartment building as I take the stairs, nodding to a guy I recognize from down the hall and he waves, keeping the door open for me.

I nod to Roger at the front desk, struggling to press the elevator button as we ride up to the top floor. Her smell worms it’s way into my nostrils, the lavender-vanilla scent as she buries her nose into my neck with a whimper.

“I’m sorry I fell asleep,” she whispers as the elevator doors open.

“Shhh, it’s okay. I'm glad you were relaxed enough to."

  "I wasn't nervous. I didn't freak out."

"I know, I'm happy. I’m putting you in my bed to just sleep. I promise, okay?”

She sleepily nods as I hear her yawn, unlocking my apartment door and shutting it behind me.

Walking down the hall, I can’t help but feel different as I carry Jenna to my bedroom. The once cold, lonely apartment now feels warm with her here and I gingerly lay her down, pulling her shoes off and taking the comforter in my hands to pull over her body before her hand around my wrist stops me.

“Undress me,” she whispers, her eyes squinting, her lips curled up into a smile.

I nod, taking off her socks and jeans before she lazily sits up, lifting her arms over her head. My hungry eyes roam over her body, clad in only her deep purple bra and underwear set and before I can pull the blanket over her, she wraps an arm around my neck and kisses me.

It’s a soft kiss, not hungry like our kisses have been all weekend and she doesn’t part her lips for my tongue. She keeps her lips pressed to mine, pushing and pulling back until her lips curl up into a smile against my own.

“Undress and come lay with me,” she demands, laying back down on her side, not giving me a choice in the matter at being the big spoon.

I look up and down her body again and the light from the window makes her skin glow. I run a finger up her leg, stopping when I feel the raised scar on her knee.

I furrow my brows, looking at her.

  "Is this...from the accident?"

She silently nods, lifting my hand off her knee and kisses my palm.

  "Get in."

I don’t even hesitate as I strip down to my boxers and slide in behind her. Putting my hand on her thigh, she grabs it, pulling it higher around her body.

I might have struck a chord asking about her scar, so I allow her to put my hand wherever she feels comfortable enough as she moves back, wiggling her ass into my crotch. I groan, burying my nose in her long black hair and let her smell and warmth pull me into a deep sleep.

  Jenna

I shuffle on my feet, standing in front of the enormous black front door with frosted glass panes on each side. Lorenzo's hand on my shoulder steadies me a little and I look up at him, smiling.

  "Relax, J," Lorenzo soothes.

I calm at the shortened version of my name, loving the comfort level we've climbed to during the weekend we spent together but hating that this is where it ends.

Why am I so nervous? It's not like I'm his girlfriend.

The front door swinging open to his smiling mother is the perfect buoy out of my depressing thoughts. Who greets me is a very different woman from the one I met on Friday.

Soraya Morgan all dressed up with makeup on is gorgeous. Long dark hair, the tips colored a bright green, olive skin and deep brown eyes make up an ageless face and her body in a red dress is one I've always longed for, curves in all the right places.

A large hand comes around her waist as my gaze turns up, meeting the dark eyes of Graham, Lorenzo's father. I extend my hand toward the both of them, giving them my most genuine smile.

"Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, it's great to see you both again. Thank you for lettin' me celebrate the holidays with y'all. I appreciate your hospitality."

Soraya smiles, pulling my hand to drag me in for a hug and Graham does the same, moving aside
for us to walk through the large foyer.

"We're happy you stayed! Come on in. I made enough food for all of Manhattan."

We hear shuffling against the floor and soon a ball of white fur comes barreling into me, jumping against my legs before it jumps against Lorenzo.

"Cannoli, my little nugget. Was grandma and grandpa good to you?" Lorenzo coos, rubbing the puppy behind his ears.

He immediately rolls onto his back, begging for belly rubs and Soraya laughs, rolling her eyes.

"Damn dog is spoiled rotten already. I felt something licking my toes this morning and thought your father was trying to get all kinky on me. Sad disappointment when I realized it was this little bastard."

Lorenzo groans at his mother's words as Soraya laughs, hugging me around my shoulders as we walk through the hallway and into an incredible kitchen.

Pristine white cabinets make up two full walls of the kitchen, the high ceilings and skylights make the room seem ten times larger than it actually is. My shock takes over as I briskly walk to the floor to ceiling windows on the other side of the dining room table and I press my hands to the glass.

"God, this is gorgeous," I sigh, taking in the hustle and bustle of the city thirty floors below us.

I take it in for a few more minutes and turn, finally seeing the entire space of this beautiful home. Everything is immaculate, from the dark oak floors to the white walls and light grey fireplace mantel, a real fire crackling underneath.

A Christmas tree, probably ten feet high stands proudly in the corner, lights and ornaments hanging off every single branch with such precision.

"Your home is absolutely stunnin’," I gush, walking back to the kitchen as Soraya hands me a glass of red wine.

"Thank you. I did some damage in here. When it was Graham's bachelor pad it was...cold. He needed a woman's touch, right, Graham Cracker?"

She gives him a cheeky smile and he gives her a devilish one, whispering something in her ear as her smile fades, her cheeks turning pink.

"Mmm hmm," she agrees, nodding her head.

"Ma, what does green mean?" Lorenzo asks, walking into the kitchen with a beer, nodding at Soraya's hair.

She flicks the ends and I remember Lorenzo saying she dyes the tips of her hair to match her moods. I remember the picture she accidentally sent Lorenzo and the tips were pink. I guess I know what type of mood that means. I stifle a giggle as she looks over to Graham and her blush deepens.
