Alpha spun, stared at X, and then found the danger.
“Don’t move,” X whispered and cast her gaze to the ground. “Whatever you do, Alpha. Do not move.”
Ghost stepped closer, lips peeled back from long fangs. Silver eyes sparked with danger. She took a step as the wolf curled her shoulders and very slowly lowered her hand. Wolf against bear…I lifted my gaze to the platoon of Marines around them. Eyes wide, gazes fixed on the most beautiful, and the second-most terrifying woman I’d ever seen.
Milky white eyes filled my mind. Eva was something very different, no animal…not beast. She was more than a Vampire. She was death all wrapped up in leather and high heels.
But Ghost was a shifter—one who lived her entire life with one desire surging through her veins…survive…
The guttural growl deepened as she flanked X’s side.
The wolf nodded, licked dirt-stained lips to murmur. “I understand.”
My stomach tightened as Ghost stepped close, mouth opened, canines gnashed the air millimeters from X’s face. Yet the tiny wolf stood there, and slowly nodded.
The savage snarl ended, and Ghost’s lips slipped low.
“What the fuck was that about?” Alpha’s growl was barely a rumble.
“Just a little girl talk, setting the boundaries,” X whispered, slowly lifting her gaze to meet Ghost’s. “A warning, one received loud and clear.”
“What the Hell kind of warning was that?”
X’s eyes met mine as she answered. “About Ace… Her words were…‘I licked it, so it’s mine’.”
“She licked it?” My brother repeated as heat filled my face. “She licked it? What the fuck were you two doing while I was getting my damn ass shot off?”
Delight flared in his gaze. I shook my head, opened my mouth to respond…and then I realized whatever he could imagine was nothing compared to the real thing.
“Well, brother?” He glanced toward Ghost and punched my shoulder. The shit-eating grin spread wide. “Care to fucking explain?”
Gold carved the air, wings and wings and wings…as sixty Marines tore their badges free and followed their Commander. I heard it all through the busted earpiece…every word…every threat.
“Darrion.” Commander Marks stepped forward. “I think I’d like to see more of those files. I think my men would like to do the same. If this goes as deep as what the Major General said, then we can’t trust anyone, not the media, not the Corps.”
Alpha nodded, the delight dulled for a second as he cast his gaze across the entire platoon. “I’ll give you everything I have. I’ll show you it all. To be honest, I’m hoping it’s enough to show you the real war…’cause we’re fighting a losing battle here, and we’re in desperate need of good Marines.”
Commander Samson Marks nodded. “Then it looks like you have your army. I hope you know what you’re in for.”
Hope flared as Ghost pressed against my side.
My brother knew exactly what he was in for…as did I.
We were in with a chance—a fighting fucking chance.
The war wasn’t just coming. The war was already here.

Commander Samson Marks has stepped into the middle of a battle. One he never signed up for, but one he cannot ignore.
In the wake of the attack on the compound he comes face to face with the enemy—traitors to everything he knows—the Marine Corps.
Only they’re not quite the enemy he expected.
The rebel, Darrion Slater, a.k.a Alpha, hands him a file and shows him the truth—and what he finds within the pages shocks him to the core.
He’s on a mission now, to not only right the wrongs he can, but to stand shoulder to shoulder with the outcasts, with the loners…with the Guardians.
He’ll be the kind of man who might buckle—but won’t break.
The kind who’ll protect a Queen of the Vampires in the midst of a vicious attack
…even if it almost kills him…
And he’ll be the kind of man who finds truth in surviving.
A truth he never wanted to face, and redemption in the eyes of an immortal.
Annabelle is a first circle warrior to the Shadistin Vampire Queen. She has one purpose—to kill, and apart from defensive blows of her victims, no one’s touched her in hundreds of years.
Until a dying mortal reaches for her hand.
She’ll stay there. She’ll give the Commander what little comfort her cold, Vampire soul can afford and when he opens his eyes he’ll see her for what she really is.
His salvation.
His redemption
His Vampire in command.
This is a 40,000 word short novel that takes place between Ace and Pisces.

I really hope you enjoyed Ace and Ghost’s story. I’m so excited for what’s in store. I have so many cool ideas running through my head, each character demanding to be heard.
So the good news - lots of books!
I wanted to say thank you so much for your support, without you I wouldn’t be able to bring all the Ghosts and Gunnys to life. I wouldn’t be able to love the Guardians as much as I do.
For as long as I’ve been able to remember I could create, not just characters, but emotion—a sense of realness so intense that their pain became my pain, their love, my love.
If I’m honest when I started writing this series with Taurus I really had no freaking clue what I was doing. I had this idea, twelve zodiac dragons, twelve stories all heading to the one battle, and over time it grew to be so much more than the Dragons, it became—a world—complete with a past and a future.
It became a battlefield.
And a shit ton of stories.
And as all the players revealed themselves to me I just knew that I had something special—something that was unique.
If you have a moment I’d love to hear your thoughts, for this book, or any book in the series. If you could write a short review, it doesn’t need to be fancy, it goes a long way for someone like me.
I read every review, I see every comment, every share, every like or recommendation on Facebook, and I’m so damn grateful for each and every one of you. You have no idea how that motivates me every day. There’s a constant repetition…
Do a good job. Do an honest job. Don’t write shit. This is for them…
Okay, enough with the soppy shit.
I gotta book to write.
