He chuckled. “Well, it’s true. You even stopped moving your tongue.”
“And here I thought you liked it when I went limp against you.”
He nipped at my ear. “When I’ve done the hard work, yes.”
I leaned against him. “I’m just thinking about some things.”
“Like…?”
I shrugged. “Like, how Ann Arbor is going to feel a lot safer now that your father’s off the streets.”
“Uh huh.”
“And how things are probably safe to return to now that the pressure of media attention is no longer relevant.”
He nodded. “And the risk of fallout from the trial isn’t there anymore.”
I kissed his cheek softly. “Do you think about going back at all? To Ann Arbor?”
He didn’t hesitate. “All the time.”
I looked up into his eyes. “Do you think about going back soon?”
He shrugged. “Not particularly.”
“Oh?”
He nuzzled my nose. “I have to share you when we’re home. Give me a little more time to have you just to myself, okay?”
I smiled. “That depends. What do you plan on doing with that time?”
His voice dropped. “Why don’t you let me show you?”
With my hands in his, he led me back into our second-story bedroom. With the doors to the ocean left wide open behind me, he led me over to the bed. As I stared up into his eyes, he slid my robe from my body. Revealing the marked nakedness he had reveled in every night since we’d been here. A grin slid across his face. He sat on the edge of the bed, pulling me between his legs. He kissed my stomach. My hips. My thighs. He kissed up my stomach until his lips wrapped around my nipples, causing my head to fall back. I gasped with pleasure as he licked them to puckered peaks. I threaded my hand through his hair as he growled against my excess. I felt my thighs warming and my pussy wetting. As his hands explored me, gripping my ass cheeks and massaging my legs, I felt more alive than ever before.
“Oh, Max,” I whispered.

I saw me learning how to ride a bike so I could ride beside him instead of just behind him.
I saw us making love in our four-poster bed.
I saw us with a bungalow by the beach, just like this one.
And as I cried out his name in ecstasy, falling over the edge, I saw a ring on my finger.
