Mango Glades

“Inside were three of these coins. And a piece of wood with numbers written on it.”
“My son said the numbers were GPS coordinates and we should follow them to see what was there. We planned to do that after our salvage contract ended.
“But we never got the chance. My son and his wife died. In my grief, I put these coins away and forgot about them.
“When I packed my things to move here to Mango Bay, I found the coins. I'm keeping one in my son's memory. I will give the other to Callie. I am giving you the third for all you've done for us.”
I shook my head. “Carlos, I still don't feel right about accepting the coin. I would rather you keep it. But perhaps you and I could go out and search for others?”
Carlos smiled. “I was hoping you would say that.”
We started planning our treasure hunt the next day.
And, yes, I did agree to take Lori to Key West. And what an adventure that turned out to be.
Author's Notes
Almost all the places mentioned in this book are real. Some of the details about different locations have been invented or enhanced for the sake of the story.
All the characters are fictional (for the most part).
If you're in South Florida, you'll enjoy visiting Englewood, as well as driving Alligator Alley through the Everglades. If you do make the drive, be sure to stop at the Oasis Ranger Station and check out the panther display there.
