Our wet clothes slap onto the dusty floor and James lays his jacket and then mine over an old mattress I remember from a distant past.

His hands squeeze my chest, thick thumbs teasing my nipples as I feel myself laying back, opening my legs and wrapping them around his waist.

I swear loudly as I feel the hot round tip of his cock rubbing against my twitching hole, the heat of my own arousal running down my slit.

With no more words, it’s all we both want, and without even needing to guide his member, I feel its huge swollen head start to edge into me.

My eyes grow wide and I can hear myself swearing again, James groaning with satisfaction as his own eyes flash at the sight of me receiving him.

It’s an intense pressure until I feel something give, something really gives inside me, and I use my heels to pull James deeper inside me, making us both groan with a new level of excitement I only ever read about but never thought could be humanly possible.

His hard, muscular legs are like an anchor and once he feels me starting to buck against his stiffness, the sensation of his naked body against mine as muscle meets curves is something I know he’s been longing for.

He grips me firmly, and then harder when I command him to, telling him to fuck me now.

“Fill me up James,” I gasp. “I want your come inside me, all the way.”

I can hear myself telling him the most insane things that I want, how I want to feel and his only reply is to make them all happen.

  Every single one.

“Not before you come on my hot, fat dick,” he groans, gripping my ass with both hands and picking up the pace. He tilts my hips upward and in an instant, he feels deeper inside me than I ever thought possible.

Lighting up a new pleasure center we both feel instantly, and one I have no control over anymore as I start to stammer his name louder and louder with each powerful thrust of his thick organ deep inside me.

“James… James!” I finally gasp, feeling my whole body tense and shudder, my walls and my pussy lips quivering on his manhood as I feel my climax joining his, his seed pouring into me.

There’s no cabin, no woods anymore and the thunderstorm raging outside doesn’t even register.

There’s only us. This new thing we’ve made by coming together joined in a way that makes us whole again.

Makes us one, and not just for a few minutes, but something that fuses us together for good. We both feel it and we both know it now.

A perfect knot of muscle, sweat, and curves, we lay together for I don’t know how long before the world as we remember it slowly starts to come back into focus.

My relief is seeing his eyes first, and then his smile as I feel him still flexing inside me, making me gasp and giggle as I shudder some more as our climax finally ebbs away.

But never too far. I know it’s something we’ll revisit often, and soon again if I have my way.

“I was only supposed to rescue you,” James says, looking a little guilty.

“You just did,” I whisper in his ear, running my hands across his shoulders and bringing him closer to kiss me again.

  “You just did.”

“I love you, Krystal,” he says, looking me right in the eyes and tracing a finger down my face to my neck.

“I love you and I’m never letting you out of my sight again, understand?” he asks, and I nod. Not wanting him to, not ever wanting to leave his side ever again.

  Not even for a minute.

The dim light of the cabin gives way to a gray light, the early morning that sees the thunder rolling away over the hills and the rain softening to a patter that almost puts us both to sleep once James uses his jacket to cover us both as best he can.

The warmth from our naked bodies is more than enough though, and as much as I try and keep my hands in one spot, like James, I find them straying to his front and his between my legs.

We say so much without a word for what must be hours. By the time either of us feels like moving again, it’s brighter inside and out, the dusty panes of the cabin windows show the first rays of sun after the storm.

  The storm we both survived.

James groaning for a different reason makes me sit up, worried I’ve squashed something of his. “What is it?” I ask, concerned.

“Your dad,” he murmurs, and I feel a stab of anxiety in my chest, that part of the world snapping sharply back into focus too.

  “Oh,” I mumble.

“No,” James says, getting up and fishing for his clothes. “He’s back at the car, hurt himself when we tried to come up to find you,” he says, wincing in apology for forgetting all about it.

I remember my pledge and don’t feel mad. Far from it, I’m glad he did otherwise we would never have… well. Needless to say, I’m grateful James forgot about dad for a few hours.

As if on cue, there’s the distant burst of a siren for a few seconds, and James relaxes.

“He had his phone, and I told him to stay put until he got a cell signal,” he adds, still wincing a little.

“What happened?” I ask, glancing at James sideways, trying not to smile.

“Let’s just say I think your Dad will be laid up for a little while. He’ll be fine, just a little sore for a time,” James assures me.

Leaning forward to get up, I have to agree.

“We might both be,” I murmur, feeling the pleasant ache inside, the satisfying sensation of having had James work some more of his magic on me.

We dress and yelp a little, getting back into freezing wet clothes and James wants to carry me back down, but I insist I can walk.

He watches me go ahead of him for a little, laughing quietly to himself until I turn around, pretending to be offended.

“What?” I ask with a grin.

“I don’t think you’ll ever walk the same again, somehow,” he jokes.

And we both laugh. Me all the louder, because I know it’s true.

The woods don’t seem anywhere near as frightening in the daylight and there’s no sign of any cougar or anything else that might want to hurt us.

The ground’s still running with water but the sun has come out and the daytime woods spring to life with birdsong and a warmer breeze.

Hand in hand James and I make it back to the stone stairs, familiar again in the daylight and reminding me of snapshots in my mind from my childhood.

“Did you mean what you said?” James asks, stopping before we reach the bottom of the stairs, the flashing lights of the sheriff and an ambulance in the distance.

“About what?” I ask, blushing and gnawing my lip, trying to remember everything I must’ve screamed out while he claimed me as his.

“About wanting a family?” he asks, blushing a little himself and looking at his feet.

My hand strays to my belly, and I wonder how I’d feel if it was any bigger. Wondering if James would still love me.

“I want what you want,” I tell him, and not just saying that to agree with him because I really do.

“I’m glad,” he says, taking one step down so he can kiss me before we’re within sight of anyone else.

He moves away and I reach out for his hand, slipping mine around two of his huge fingers and squeezing them.

“I don’t care who sees,” I tell him. “I love you, James Silverthorn. I’m yours now and the world’s just gonna have to get used to that.”

“I love you, Krystal,” he tells me again, lifting my hand to kiss it. “More than I’ll ever be able to say.”

  CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

  James

“I think there’s someone who’d like to know you’re safe too,” I tell her, pointing my chin towards the stretcher being loaded into the ambulance.

Krystal dashes over to see her dad and I have a pow-wow with the local Sheriff.

“I gotta apologize, Mr. Uh… Silverhorn,” he drawls, and I don’t even bother to correct him for mispronouncing my name.

After today’s efforts, I might even change it by deed poll
to Silverhorn, who knows?

  “For what?” I ask him.

“For not taking Mayor Newland’s story serious enough. Krystal could have been hurt up there and her Dad in a world more trouble if it hadn’t been for you.”

I frown, shaking my head. “I only did what anyone would do,” I tell him truthfully.

And I would’ve crushed anyone who tried to get to Krystal first.

The Sheriff’s ears prick up when he hears Krystal excitedly telling her dad about the cougar attack.

Bob groans, barely conscious, and is loaded properly into the ambulance before it drives away.

“Cougar?” The Sheriff asks Krystal with some skepticism, and there it is.

I have to spend the next hour hearing the whole account except for the part where I claimed Krystal as my own, as the Sheriff shakes his head, whistles, and finally throws his hat on the ground before he shakes my hand.

“I owe you more than an apology Silverhorn, you’re gonna get a god damned award for bravery,” he exclaims.

Krystal mouths the word Silverhorn with a questioning face and we both try not to laugh, humoring the Sheriff until he gives us the all-clear to leave.

“I’ll run Krystal home,” I tell him, “we can arrange a tow truck for the other car once the road dries up, maybe?” I offer.

He salutes me with a broad grin and still shaking his head, he drives off with lights flashing and a few bursts from his siren as he waves goodbye through his open window.

“Or… We could go back to the cabin?” Krystal suggests, squeezing my crotch and standing on tippy toes to peck my chin as I pull her closer with both hands.

“We’re getting you home and I’m giving you a hot bath,” I inform her. “Then I’m gonna order us so much food we’ll never want to eat again, how does that sound?”

“Like the perfect day,” she says smiling. “Is Dad gonna be okay though?” she asks.

“I think he will be, pretty beat up at the moment but they’ll take care of him. We can go visit him in the hospital later,” I tell her, setting her mind at ease as we both head back to my car hand in hand.

I push the rocks out from behind the wheels and we’re off, driving past her own car as Krystal lets out a gasp of shock.

“I’m surprised I wasn’t hurt, oh my god, my keys!” she squeals, and I fish in my jeans pocket, jingling them in front of her.

“Is there nothing you can’t do, James Silverhorn?” she asks with a wry smile.

“Hey?” I warn her, holding a finger up. “I’m already thinking about changing it, don’t tempt me,” I try to say seriously before we both laugh loudly, her hand straying to my crotch again, which starts to bulge in reply.

“I like your horn fine, just the way it is Mr. Silverthorn,” she says innocently, squeezing me and teasing me by playing with my zipper.

“Not while we’re driving, baby. One accident’s enough for one day,” I remind her, happy though when she keeps her hand resting on my meat all the way back down to town.

Just as I promised, with her dad in the hospital for at least another couple of days, we have some privacy and I run her a hot bath.

While she’s soaking in the tub, I shower and borrow a robe while my clothes are in the dryer.

The selection of takeout in Woods End is pretty limited, but Krystal says the local diner will deliver pretty much anything we can dream up.

I phone in an order for a couple of big steaks, a whole cherry pie, and a tub of ice cream if they have it.

“Sounds perfect,” Krystal calls out, cooing my name as she tries to lure me back up to the bathroom.

I know if I see her naked one more time, that’ll be the rest of the day gone and we’ll both starve to death.

The door chimes and I wonder if that much food could be delivered so quickly.

  Apparently not.

It’s my old friends, the media. Luckily no cameras are rolling when I open the door, but I explain how much the family and I would appreciate some privacy.

“I’ll have a statement for you guys later in the day. For now, we’re just getting warm and dry clothes and sending our thoughts and prayers to Mayor Newland,” I tell them.

“But what about the cougar attack? Do you consider yourself a hero? The rest of the town does,” somebody pipes up from the back.

“And what about the election tomorrow, Mr. Silverthorn, will that still go ahead?”

I close the door, leaving just enough gap to thank them all and ask them to bother us later with any questions.

Looking through the curtains, I can tell they’re not going anywhere, which kind of takes the edge off the quiet time I had planned for Krystal and me today.

The next interruption is the phone ringing, and I pick it up. It’s the hospital. I take the phone up to Krystal covering my eyes and holding it out to her before taking just a quick peek and leaving again.

Just as I thought, the sight of her chest jutting out proudly through the bath foam sends my dick hard north in seconds.

I hover at the bottom of the stairs not really wanting to eavesdrop but needing to eavesdrop so I know what’s going on.

“Dad’s doing fine,” Krystal calls down, sensing my mood. I hear her getting out of the tub and resist the urge to go dry her off myself.

If we didn’t have a damned film crew waiting outside, I’d gladly spend the rest of the day making her scream my name but I don’t think it would be wise right now.

  Dammit.

“Better?” I ask her, feeling my heart and my groin swell as I see her at the top of the stairs.

She nods enthusiastically, looking relaxed and refreshed as she drifts down into my arms.

“Who was at the door?” she asks, my lips smacking the fresh toothpaste feel from hers as we kiss.

“Reporters,” I groan and roll my eyes. She tenses up for a second and I lead her over to the couch, sitting us both down.

“Krystal, I know what you said about not caring who knew about us,” I start to say, but she’s already nodding.

“I know, I know. We might need to keep things quiet, at least until after dad’s election, right? No point causing a scandal,” she adds dramatically, daring me not to touch her with her eyes as she covers her chest up extra tight with her own robe.

“Exactly,” I agree. “What’d the hospital say?” I ask her next, feeling a pang of anxiety when she refers to it as ‘dad’s election.’

I’ve got what I came for from Woods End, and I hope Krystal really understands that.

“You know I only want you, Krystal,” I tell her, taking her hand in mine.

“I’m not really trying to put your Dad out of a job, I don’t even want to be Mayor. Truly I don’t,” I tell her, the truth now because after what we’ve both been through, she really is all I want.

“I know,” she whispers, kissing me on the cheek and making us both laugh when her stomach growls.

“Where’s that food, I’m starving,” she says loudly, rolling onto her slide and clutching her belly.

Our food arrives not long after and true to my promise, we both eat so much it’s almost nauseating to think about anything else to do with food.

“Tell me it can be like this every day,” Krystal prompts me as we lay on the couch, her legs over mine.

“It can be like this every day,” I parrot in a robotic voice, making her slap at my chest softly.

“Except…” I add with a frown, “I don’t think your Dad would be too happy about me living on his couch.

She looks hurt for a moment until I grip her ankle and give it a squeeze.

“Hey?” I whisper. “It’ll be like this every day, but in our own place. If you want?” I ask her, hoping she’ll agree and promising myself to do better next time I ask.

She opens her mouth to say something, but the doorbell chimes again, and true to my word, I get myself dressed in my dried clothes and step out, ready to talk to the hungry media while Krystal waits inside.

  CHAPTER T
WENTY-THREE

  Krystal

With more cameras and reporters than I ever thought in the state, let alone the county, I watch the live feed on the TV from the Mayor’s office as James waits for the final counting of the votes.

Dad’s still in the hospital, and I know he’s watching too, it breaks my heart in a way because since he rescued me, James is suddenly the town hero.

The state hero, even being cited a bravery award by the Governor.

It’s almost like my dad’s been forgotten overnight, but James and I both know he’s as much a hero as anyone else, risking everything to find me.

I want to go see my dad, almost wished I’d gone to the hospital this morning, but he insisted last night I stay at his office and support him from there.

I feel bad because I want to support James too. It’s only natural for me to want to be by his side.

It’s not even afternoon before it’s clear who’s won the election.

  It’s practically unanimous.

Woods End has a new Mayor, James Silverthorn.

I’m proud of him. I’m pleased. But I’m torn too. I actually voted for my dad after all because of what James said about him only wanting me.

Dad will be crushed, and what’s he going to do for a job now?

It’s all my fault, if I hadn’t run away then they wouldn’t have come looking for me, James never would have rescued me… Dad would still be Mayor.

“Ms. Newland? Would you mind? Just a few words after Mayor Silverthorn’s acceptance speech?” Somebody asks, poking their head around the door.

I nod absently. Wiping the single tear from my cheek and picking up the phone, not surprised when the hospital tells me my dad’s sleeping and doesn’t want to be disturbed.

Composing myself and hearing the loud applause from outside, I remind myself again about the promise I made in the cabin.

I won’t be mad or get upset with James or my dad. They’re the most important people in my life. My dad’s family and James…

Well. If I play my cards right, James might be family too.

Someone’s waiting to walk me to the podium set up in the same hall where the ball was held the other night. It looks smaller filled with so many people. I think every single person in town has shown up.
