Her gentle gasps and moans became louder right before she fully reclined onto the desk murmuring “oh fuck” and “shit” and “oh my god” like chants. Her thighs shook, starting with those gentle quakes he’d first seen on Tuesday and graduating to the violent spasms he was more familiar with. When she was close, one of her hands pressed against the back of his skull and her thighs clamped around his head. He pressed his mouth firmly against her sex, sucking intently on her clit. He was completely surrounded by her scent and her big, strong legs and the gentle encouragement of her hand.
He was so engulfed by her that he almost didn’t hear the actual thing he’d been waiting all these months for. “Kenny,” she screamed, as she came in a wet gush all over his face.
a brief debrief
Monica took several calming breaths and waited for everyone else to leave the briefing room. When Kenny lightly shut the door behind them, she finally spoke. “Are we going to have the same fight every day of this mission?”
Kierra shrugged, “Depends. Are you going to continue keeping me out of the loop?”
“If the loop is above your pay grade, yes.”
Monica watched Kierra’s nostrils flare.
“We can’t keep having the same discussion over and over again, sweet girl,” Lane said, trying to placate her with a gentle tone. “We handled this already.”
“I thought we did and then you moved Kenny and Chanté in across the hall without telling me,” she said, her hard eyes focused on Lane, but only for a second. She turned to Monica. “Was that information above my pay grade as well?”
“We forgot,” Monica said.
“Bullshit.”
“Well actually, I know it’s hard to believe, but we really were going to tell you about that,” Lane interjected.
Kierra raised both of her eyebrows at him. He pushed up from his chair and put his hands out. “Hear me out. We went over to your apartment yesterday. Very professional like.”
Kierra scoffed.
“And what were you wearing when you answered the door, Kierra?” He put a strong accusatory emphasis on her name.
She scoffed again but averted her eyes. Lane moved behind Monica’s chair and began to massage her tense shoulders, trying to reassure her through touch that he could handle this. He could handle her. Which Monica knew was bullshit. No one could handle Kierra, unless she wanted to be handled. It was one of the many things they loved about her.
“I was washing clothes,” Kierra said in a much smaller voice than when she’d stormed into the room. Her words were aimed at the front of the briefing room. “I didn’t have anything else to wear.”
It was Lane’s turn to scoff. “Try again.”
She finally looked at them, her eyes skittering over Monica’s face before lifting to Lane’s.
Monica sighed. She had to remind herself that even though they’d spent three years pining after one another, they’d actually only been together for a few months. And while it would be easy and fun to react every time Kierra was put out with them, it wouldn’t lead them anywhere but apart. They were still testing the boundaries of their relationship and working together made it hard to keep everything separate.
Monica patted Lane’s hands. He stopped massaging her and backed away. She stood, her eyes trained on Kierra, whose entire body was taut with tension. The good kind.
“Come here, sweet girl,” Monica demanded.
She pressed her lips together trying to hide the smile that clearly wanted to spread across her face.
When she was standing in front of them Monica asked her, “Are we still not allowed to touch you?”
Lane and Monica watched her internal battle flit across her face before she sighed. “Okay, maybe you were right about me not being able to do that every time I’m mad at you.”
Lane nodded, “You should save it for when you’re happy or you want something expensive.”
She smiled at him and turned to Monica. “Go on. Touch me.”
Lane grunted.
Monica resisted the urge to shake her head. It was the middle of the workday. They had the absolute worst timing; always hot and bothered at the most inopportune moments. She extended her hand and placed her fingers softly on Kierra’s bare right shoulder, exposed by her loose t-shirt. She ran her thumb along just a bit of Kierra’s collarbone.
“We need boundaries,” Monica said.
Lane grunted again and snaked a hand around Monica’s waist.
“We’ve been very lax about what we allow in the office. And that was fine when you were just our PA.” She thought about that and corrected. “Actually, that was a bad idea then as well. But now it’s even worse.” Monica’s thumb was skimming up Kierra’s neck.
“What’s the difference?” She asked in a breathy whisper.
“The difference is, before we thought this was all we had. Innocent flirting in the office.”
“Innocent?” Lane asked, his mouth close to Monica’s ear.
“Innocent for us,” she corrected, tracing along Kierra’s jaw. “But we don’t have to play in the office anymore.”
Kierra’s eyes had been slowly clouding with lust, her gaze centered on Monica’s breasts through her t-shirt. But her vision cleared and she squinted her eyes at Monica.
Monica moved her free hand to Kierra’s other shoulder and squeezed. “We don’t have to only play in the office.” She moved her thumb to the corner of Kierra’s mouth.
Kierra nodded and parted her lips. Monica slid her thumb inside, touching the tip of Kierra’s tongue.
“But we need to keep work and play separate.”
“Although right now that’s a bit hard since your roommate is assisting us by getting herself off on our new recruit,” Lane conceded.
“But all of our operations won’t be like this,” Monica replied. “So we need to do our best to keep all of this,” she said, punctuating the word by pressing her thumb further into Kierra’s mouth, “outside of Command as much as possible.”
Kierra’s tongue swirled around Monica’s digit, she closed her lips and sucked.
“Besides,” Monica continued, moving her other hand to Kierra’s chest, grabbing her breast roughly through the thin material of her shirt. She raised an eyebrow when she realized that Kierra wasn’t wearing a bra. Kierra sucked her finger harder and smiled. “Besides, just think of how wet you’ll be at the end of the work day.”
Lane sucked Monica’s earlobe into his mouth as Monica circled Kierra’s hard nipple with her thumb.
“So do we have a deal?” Monica began to slowly pull her thumb from Kierra’s mouth. Kierra let her teeth grate lightly across her skin and smiled. Lane started chuckling into Monica’s ear. Monica sighed. They both knew what was coming.
“Tell me what my clearance allows.”
“We think Joseph Mehmeti is working with a group of US white supremacists. Chanté has leads.”
“Maya wants more money.”
“Not unless we need her in the field.”
“Do I have to dress more professionally from now on?”
Lane answered before Monica could open her mouth, “Not unless you’re looking to get fired.”
Kierra’s smile widened. She moved to press her chest to Monica’s. “Then we have a deal,” she said and grasped Monica’s hips. She kissed her, rough with teeth, just the way Lane liked.
Monica held the sides of Kierra’s face, letting her take control for a moment, before pulling back and kissing her gently, suckling on Kierra’s tongue slowly, rhythmically, never missing the chance to remind her that that was how she would suck Kierra’s clit when she got the chance.
Lane’s hands began to wander and Monica wanted to let them. She wanted to slip Kierra’s clothes off and lay her on the conference table so she and Lane could make up for the time they’d been apart. But she was leading this operation and if she let it happen this time, they would throw out the boundaries they’d just set and be in the exact same position tomorrow.

p; She pulled back from Kierra’s mouth. Kierra whimpered at the lost contact. Their foreheads rested against one another’s.
“Spend the night?” Lane asked.
Kierra nodded.
It still took a few minutes to disentangle their limbs. As they walked into the foyer Kenny and Maya were walking down the other hall toward them.
Maya smoothed her shaky hands down her dress repeatedly and Kenny swiped at his mouth. Monica wondered if they could be more obvious but decided to keep quiet because glass houses and all that.
“Everything all right?” Lane asked, because he’d never met an awkward moment he didn’t want to run right in the middle of.
Kenny’s cheeks flushed. But Maya squared her shoulders – which coincidentally only accentuated how hard her nipples were – and responded, “Everything’s fine. Mind your business.”
Lane huffed a laugh and turned to Monica, “If we need her in the field, I want her on my squad.”
“Over my dead body,” Kenny spat.
“This is like a trashy soap opera porn parody,” Kierra laughed.
“I’d watch it,” Maya nodded, trying to pretend as if she weren’t looking at Kenny in her peripheral vision.
Monica rolled her eyes and turned to walk toward her office. After two steps everyone turned to her for orders. She sighed.
“Kenny, talk to your ATF source. Lane, we need a spoof protocol.”
“What’s that?” Maya asked.
“I’ll tell you later,” Kierra said out of the side of her mouth.
“Kierra, take Maya home. She has a broadcast to prepare for tonight.” Monica ignored the shy looks Maya and Kenny turned toward each other. “And then you need to get back here.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Kierra replied. Monica nodded. That was the only time Kierra had ever said those words in a way that didn’t sound obscene.
They were all still, staring at her.
“Go,” she barked and everyone hopped to.
She was almost out of the foyer when she heard Maya whisper to Kierra.
“Jesus, that was hot as fuck.”
“Mmmmmm,” was Kierra’s only reply, a sound that was somewhere between agreement and a moan.
Monica shook her head and pushed her office door closed behind her. If they managed to pull this mission off with all of this mess, it would be a miracle.

Lane was sitting at his desk when there was a knock at the door.
Monica didn’t knock and Kenny didn’t come to him for anything. And besides, he’d know Kierra’s gentle knock anywhere.
“Come in,” he called.
Kierra pushed the door open. Lane lifted his eyes from the report he was reading. She’d changed. He almost missed the tight jeans, that peek of her shoulder and knowing that she wasn’t wearing a bra. But his eyes raked over her breasts, which were sitting high and just a bit fuller than he knew they actually were, in a crisp white button-up. He smirked as he took in her hips in a very professional, if a little tight, navy pencil skirt. He leaned over his desk to admire a very high pair of red heels. Red was Lane’s favorite color on Kierra.
“So are you back to work?” He asked as he let his eyes wander up her body.
“Yes, sir,” she said in a husky voice that got a rise out of him, his eyebrows and his dick.
“What can I do for you?”
She smiled and bit her bottom lip. He didn’t know exactly where her mind had gone but he knew that he approved wholeheartedly.
“There’s a briefing in the boardroom in five,” she said. Again, very professionally.
“Five minutes isn’t a lot of time.”
She inched into his office and pushed the door shut behind her. He sat back in his chair and watched her walk toward him in those heels and that skirt. Up close he realized that her shirt was not complete opaque. He huffed out a laugh.
She walked around his desk and he turned his chair so she could see what she’d done to the front of his slacks. He spread his legs wide and she walked to stand between them. She flattened her hands down her hips and thighs and hiked up her skirt just an inch. Just enough to bend a knee and rest it gently along his dick. While he was focused on that gentle pressure she reached over his desk and pressed the speaker button on his office phone. He knew who she was calling before she dialed.
“Yes,” Monica’s voice said.
“I’ve told Kenny and Lane about the meeting,” Kierra said.
There was a moment of silence where Lane knew that Monica was weighing this particular challenge. They’d literally just decided to not do this, but Kierra liked to push Monica’s buttons. Hell, Lane liked to push Monica’s buttons, but even he would have waited a day or two. God, he admired Kierra’s style. They waited – their eyes locked on one another – for Monica’s response.
“I’m going to give you a choice,” Monica said.
Her voice was hard. She wasn’t angry, she’d expected this. But she was making herself clear. She would give them no wiggle room in the rest of her sentence. Lane moved his hips slightly, pushing his dick against the weight of Kierra’s knee. She licked her lips.
“You can skip the meeting and fuck each other in Lane’s office,” she said and Lane sure liked the sound of that. “But neither of you can touch me for the next week.”
Kierra’s frown matched his own.
“You don’t mean that,” Lane said, turning to stare at his phone as if he could see her face.
“Try me,” she said and hung up.
Lane sighed as the pressure of Kierra’s leg disappeared. His dick throbbed. He stood and pressed a kiss to her forehead. She frowned up at him. “It was a good try,” he said, before grabbing her by the shoulders, turning her around and following her out into the hallway.
They stopped in the open doorway of Monica’s office. Kierra crossed her arms over her chest and frowned, sullen, as they waited. She raised her head and though her mouth didn’t move they could both see the smile in her eyes.
“Good choice,” she said to them both. “You won’t regret it.”
He threw an arm over Kierra’s shoulders and pulled her against his side. “We know.”

“I’ve contacted my connect in the ATF,” Kenny said, standing in front of them in the briefing room. “He’s running an investigation on the Pendleton Patriots.”
“What do they know?” Monica asked.
“I don’t know,” Kenny replied.
“Then what the fuck was the point of the phone call?” Lane asked, his voice tight with annoyance and pent up sexual frustration.
Kenny rolled his eyes and aimed his answer to Lane’s question at Monica. “My contact is a good agent, great investigator. He keeps his info to himself and only shares with others when they need to know and if it benefits his investigation. I didn’t ask for any details about the case over the phone, because he wouldn’t have given it.”
“Can’t hurt to ask,” Lane breathed.
Kenny wanted to reply but he didn’t, because whatever he was about to say would have been disrespectful. And Kenny had a strict respect of authority and protocol. Usually. Monica had realized that when they’d first met at The Academy. It was admirable, but in their line of work, useless. It was one of the reasons why she had rebuffed his transfer requests before now.
But when she and Lane had realized less than a month ago that Kenny was breaking any number of rules and jeopardizing his career to maintain a fragile online relationship with Kierra’s roommate, Monica had begun to see Kenny differently. An agent who was more beholden to the rules than the mission was the kind of agent Monica trusted, but didn’t want to work with for any longer than necessary. But an agent who wore their failures on their sleeves was an agent that Monica could train. Neither agent was necessarily better than the other. But Monica believed that because the latter agent had already fallen, she just had to teach them how not to make the same mistake twice. The agent who had yet to realize that they were all fallible
and corruptible was dangerous. Those were the ones who fell the farthest and the hardest. And she couldn’t risk Lane or Kierra to that.
“Who’s your contact?” She asked Kenny.
He turned and tapped the screen. A picture of a bald Black man with a bright, wide smile filled the screen. His badge photo looked more like a modeling headshot than ATF identification.
“I’m very interested in this,” Kierra said.
“I agree,” Lane echoed.
Monica and Kenny ignored them.
“Agent Lamont White. He enlisted in the army after college and was recruited into the ATF just before his EAS. He’s a rising star in the Columbus office. He’s also well-respected, thorough and honest.”
“How do you know him?”
“I was assigned to infiltrate the ATF for an op on Green Dawn.”
“Who?” Kierra asked and then slapped a hand over her own mouth.
Monica turned to her and raised an eyebrow. Kierra mimed zipping her mouth closed, locking it and throwing away the key.
Kenny continued. “Green Dawn was a radical environmental group with cells in Canada and the US. They were loosely connected to other radical environmentalist sects radicalized after another Gulf oil spill on ’02. They decided to save the planet by any means necessary and started wholesale manufacturing and selling meth from Cincinnati up to Windsor and east to Toronto.”
Lane whistled, “That sounds really stupid.”
“I don’t remember hearing anything about The Agency investigating Green Dawn,” Monica said.
Kenny shrugged, “Technically we weren’t. A little-known fact about Green Dawn was that their leader, the Supreme Being Wayland Evans-”
“The what?” Lane laughed.
