His Girl Friday

Roman glanced over and was satisfied to see she’d decided to go to sleep. He tried to concentrate on the words in front of him, but instead his eyes kept wandering over to the outline of her body beneath the sheet.
“Roman,” moaned Sally. “I don’t feel well.”
Dropping the paper, he was at her side in an instant. He pressed a hand to her forehead, which seemed cool. His heart hammered erratically in his chest. He was scared to death she was having a relapse. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“I’ve got a pain. It hurts so much, Roman.” She opened her eyes and could see the distress on his face. But he needed to be taught a lesson for keeping her a prisoner in bed. “It’s here.” She took his hand and placed it on her breast.
“Sally!” growled Roman, suddenly realizing her ruse. But he automatically cupped her. He could feel himself swelling and struggled ineffectively to control himself.
“It’s my heart, Roman, it’s breaking.” She batted her eyelashes at him in an attempt at flirting, her bright green eyes glittering with desire. “I need you.” She pulled his head down and traced his lips with her tongue. They touched hers with a bittersweet softness as her hand stroked his cheek. “Make love to me, Roman,” she whispered, pulling the sheet back invitingly.
“Are you sure?” he asked hoarsely, wanting her with a need so desperate that it hurt.
“Please, Roman.” Stretching up, she pulled the T-shirt off over her head.
He couldn’t refuse and hastily tugged off his clothes. He pulled her to him and his hands stroked her body. He couldn’t get enough. They trailed down every know path as he peppered kisses across her face and throat. He was beside himself and tried to slow down, but she matched his need.
Her hand slid down his stomach, over the ripple of muscles, before clasping his erection. Today she didn’t want foreplay. She needed to feel him deep inside her. She ran her hand slowly up and down his shaft, smiling as he groaned.
“Sal, for Christ’s sake, stop or I’ll come before I’m even inside you,” he muttered, his forehead beaded with sweat.
“I want you in me now.” She moved her legs apart as he covered her. He supported his weight on his forearms, determined not to hurt her. His lips fed off hers and he sank slowly forward. Loving the heated tightness that enveloped him, he surged in, his hips writhing hard against hers. Sally arched into him, bucking frantically as he began driving inside. His cock pounded into her. With each heady whimper he elicited, he redoubled his efforts, powering deep into her. Hearing her soft mewling, he threw his head back and climaxed, her sex sucking him dry. Finally he collapsed beside her, shifting his hips. Lacing her in his arms, he draped her body across his.
“Sorry it was so quick, sweetheart, but I couldn’t help myself.” His lips brushed tenderly across her forehead.
“I needed that,” gasped Sally, turning and nuzzling his throat.
“Some doctor I’d make. I’m supposed to be looking after you.” He grinned and cupped her face, his thumb lazily rubbing her cheek.
“Well, I happen to like your bedside manner.” She dropped her lips to his chest, kissing and tasting him, circling his nipple with her tongue.
“Sal, you scared the hell out of me when I realized you were up on the moors,” he said, reliving it over again. His face was serious. He tilted her head up to his. “I never thought it was possible to love anyone as much as I love you,” he whispered shakily.
She sucked in a sigh of relief and warmth invaded her body. “What’s a girl got to do to get her man to realize that?” she teased in an attempt to dispel the sombre mood.
“I blamed myself. If I hadn’t gone off half-cocked then none of this would have happened.” His dark eyes were almost black with emotion. “And when I spoke to Norma and she told me the truth, I felt sick with fear that I’d lost you.”
“Well, you haven’t.” She stroked his face softly, trying to comfort him.
“I saw where you lived, Sal. I waited for you to come back, and the thought of you in that place ….”
She became instantly defensive. “Well, it’s all I could afford.”
“I know that, Sal, it’s just that I want so much more for you. I want to give you everything you’ve never had.” He tried to explain. “I wasn’t being critical, sweetheart. Honest.”
“I’ve got what I want right here.” She snuggled against him. “But tell me what happened to Antonia.”
“Sacked her,” he said simply, his jaw stiff. Even thinking of her part in Sal’s accident made him see red.
“So you’ve got to get another PA?” She wondered what stunning model he’d hire and felt suddenly unsure of herself.
“No, think I can do without one now. I’m handing over the reins of the business to my number two. I’ve got other plans.” He pulled her on top of him. “Do you know you slept with me like this all night when you were shivering, and for once I didn’t get a hard on?”
“You stayed with me all that time?” Her chin rested on his chest as she listened to him. She was unable to believe that he hadn’t moved from her side.
“When you were burning up, I stood with you at that window. I was surprised how heavy you were.” He laughed as she slapped him playfully.
“Talk of devotion.” She cricked her head. “So what about my job?”
Again his smile slipped away and he became serious. “I don’t need a secretary anymore.” Roman studied her carefully.
For a few moments she was silent, quietly digesting the information. Only one answer came to her. He didn’t want her in any capacity. “I see.” Despite his words of love, she still questioned why he would want her. A man who could have anyone? Still Sally undermined herself.
“No, you don’t.” He drew her up until she was looking down into his face. He could see her eyes glimmered with unshed tears and he took in a deep breath. “Sal, what I need is a wife. Will you marry me?”
He almost laughed at her reaction. Her eyes were wide and shining with tears. Her mouth opened but nothing came out and slowly a tear trickled down her face.
Roman reached out and wiped it gently. “Well, what do you say?”
The scream that burst from her echoed around the house. She flung out her arms then heard the crash of the glass of water hitting the floor. She burst out laughing, hugging him tightly. “Yes, yes, and yes!” she shrieked, almost suffocating him.
Suddenly the door burst open and Paul ran in, followed by Marilyn. Both came to an embarrassed halt when they saw them in bed together.
Sally pushed her hair back and almost turned, but Roman held her tight to him in an effort to cover her nudity.
“You two can be the first to know. Sally and I are getting married.” A wicked grin spread across his lips and he couldn’t help but give her another kiss. He thrust his tongue in her mouth, oblivious to their audience as he rolled her onto her back.
“I know, shut the door on the way out.” Paul laughed, relieved that Roman had gotten his act together at last. He followed a blushing Marilyn downstairs.
