Dirty Secret Baby

“I wanted to cover myself up more than anything else, but I was too proud. I didn’t want you to think I was ashamed of myself. But I was. I mean, it had been six years since you last saw me naked. And I’ve been through a lot in that time. I had a baby. My body wasn’t what it used to be.”

“Yeah, it’s better,” he said and bit his lip.

  “Better?”

“Oh yeah. You are one incredibly hot lady, and I am one incredibly lucky man.” His one hand and moved down now, trailing my stomach and making its way between my legs, where he slipped a teasing finger inside me.

I needed to get my clothes off.

“Hang on,” I said and climbed off the bed. I took my clothes off and jumped back into bed with record speed.

  He laughed. “That’s better.”

“Sorry, I want this too much. I can’t wait.”

“I like your enthusiasm.” He got out of bed, took his own clothes off, and climbed in. “My turn,” he said.

I giggled. I reached down to feel him, and he was already hard. “I’ve missed this. But, we’re going to have to be quiet,” I said. “I know Bobby sleeps like the dead, but still.”

“I can be quiet,” he said.

There was something about the silence that made the whole experience even better than usual. That, mixed with the fact that we felt so desperate to be together again. We hadn’t had sex since I’d come back. We’d been too tired and too emotionally drained. But we were finally starting to feel like ourselves again.

As he ran his hand gently over my body, I sighed quietly and writhed at his touch. Every time I felt his skin against mine, my body reacted. He leaned in and kissed my neck, sucking gently while at the same time slipping his fingers inside me, coaxing my body to the height of pleasure. I wanted to scream. He flipped me over, and as he kissed and licked my body, I bit into the pillow to prevent myself from making a noise. My body trembled. I had never felt anything like this before. I literally felt like I was going to explode. I had to stop him before I came too soon. I pushed him back, pinned his arms down and moved under the covers until he was inside my mouth. He was big and hard, and I could hear him struggling to stay quiet as I moved my tongue around his length. I did this until he was just about to come and then I stopped. I heard him mutter, “holy shit,” under his breath and I smiled. A few years ago, I thought that my sexual days had come to an end, but I now realized they had only just begun. I couldn’t wait to explore it more and more with Axel. I liked that we didn’t even have to worry about condoms anymore. We weren’t just having sex now, but we were trying for a baby. The thought made me giddy.

I moved up so that my body was flat against his. I leaned down and kissed him and reached down to put him inside me. I was so wet and ready that he just slid right into me with ease. I moaned and then bit my lip to stop from crying out. I sat up so that he could look at me while I rocked on top of him. I saw him taking in my breasts. They’d grown over the years since having a child, and as I moved on top of him, they bounced up and down. Normally I would’ve been embarrassed, but I could see the desire on his face as he watched me. He reached out to hold them, squeezing the soft flesh as I thrust upon him. My movements got quicker the more excited I became. His fingers were moving all over me, and I put one in my mouth just to have something to stop me from screaming out. We came together. It seemed to last longer than usual in the silence around us. Instead of calling out, we closed our eyes and enjoyed every single emotion that rocked through our body.

I climbed off him and lay beside him to catch my breath. I leaned in and kissed him.

“Okay, that was so worth the wait,” I said. “I’m surprised it took us this long to do that, actually. So, here’s my proposal: that we do that every day for the rest of our lives.”

Axel smiled. “Oh, I think I can live with that. You know, ever since I raced against you six years ago, I knew that you’d be good in bed.”

  I giggled. “Really?”

“Oh yeah, and I wasn’t mistaken. Whether it’s up against the shower wall, or in a bed, you know exactly what to do.”

“I’m only like that with you.”

  “And me with you.”

We lay there for a while longer, just talking, until I felt my eyes become heavy. I was just about to fall asleep when I felt his arms reach around me, and his hand moved down to between my legs. His lips were on my neck as he moved his fingers inside me. And, to my surprise, I felt myself respond almost immediately to his touch. I was about to turn around when he whispered to me.

“I want you to sleep peacefully tonight. You make me so happy, Savannah. It’s my turn to make you happy.”

I sighed happily and opened my legs for him to get further in. I had already had an orgasm during sex, but it didn’t take me long to have one all over again. With his one hand on my breast, the other inside me, and his lips on my neck, I came even harder than I had before. When I was done, he pulled the duvet up over me and kissed me.

  “Goodnight, my beautiful. Sleep well.”

And, of course, I slept better than I had in a very long time. We woke up late and found Bobby still in bed, which was a big surprise. He looked at up with sleep eyes when we walked in to see him and smiled at us. I stood with Axel, the two of us holding hands as we looked at our little boy.

  “Good morning, Bobby. Sleep well?”

“Yes! I didn’t want to wake up because I had the best dream about the toto monster again. He was purple this time,” he said and giggled.

“Well, you’re going to be glad we woke you up because we have somewhere we want to take you today.”

He sat up and looked at us. “Where?” he asked.

“We think it’s about time we got you a dog!”

He jumped out of his bed and punched the air. “YES!” he screamed. Then he ran up to us and hugged us, tears streaming down his face. “You guys are the best. The best, the best, the best. Can we go now?”

“Breakfast first. Then we can go.”

Breakfast was a quick affair for Bobby. He ate so quickly and then looked at us with annoyance when we took our time. He didn’t complain though in case we changed our minds. When we were done, we made our way over to the animal shelter.

“We’re not going to the pet store, okay? We are going to get you a dog that is in need. That means you might not get a puppy.”

“I just want a dog,” he said, and I smiled at him.

The animal shelter was a place I generally tried to avoid. I knew if I went inside I would end up coming home with a dog. So it was nice to go there this time with that in mind. We let Bobby run around to meet all the dogs and make his decision. We figured he would have a hard time choosing, but he found his dog within a matter of minutes. He took my hand and pointed out a small mixed breed dog with scruffy hair. He was definitely not a puppy, but he did look pretty young.

“You sure this is the one you want?” I asked him. I was kind of surprised by his choice. The dog looked sweet, but the dogs around him were a lot cuter.

He nodded. “This is the one. I just know it. I love him already.”

I grinned. “Well, if you love him, then I love him. Now, go and tell Daddy how thankful you are. We are very lucky that he is letting us get a dog in his house.”

Axel shook his head. “It’s not my house.”

“What do you mean? I thought you owned the place.”

“I do. It’s our house. You and Bobby live with me now, and there’s no way I’m letting you go.”

“It’s our house too now?” Bobby asked.

Axel smiled at him. “Of course it is. And now it’s also the house of this little dog. Come on, let’s go and sign the forms for him. We’ll stop off on the way home to get him a bed and some food.”

“Thank you, Daddy. Thank you, Mommy. I promise I’m going to look after him. He’ll sleep in my room, and I’ll make sure he is the happiest dog in the world.”

  I chuckled. “Oh, I don’t doubt that.”

p; We went to the front desk and signed the forms for the dog, and took him home. As we got into the car, I turned back to look at Bobby, who had the dog on his lap already and smiled.

“Have you decided what you’re going to call him?”

  “Toto!”

  I smiled. “Great name.”

  Chapter Thirty-Seven

  Axel

Life was finally going back to normal. It was good to see Bobby so happy. He loved little Toto, and it didn’t take long for the dog to feel like family. We all loved him. He was a sweet little dog with a very kind and loving temperament. He also loved Bobby the most. He followed Bobby everywhere he went. Bobby just had to say, ‘Stay,’ and he would stay. It was very sweet to watch. That morning we decided to take the dog for walk. On the way, we stopped off at the place where my shop used to be.

The bulldozers were outside, making fast work on cleaning the place up. As soon as they were finished clearing all the debris, then work would start on rebuilding the place. They assured me that I would be up and running again in a few months. I had paid Spike for his time off and he was using that time to spend with his new fiancée. In a way, the whole thing had worked out perfectly. We had big plans for the new shop, and we were going to make it bigger and better than it was before. Better yet, the sponsors had paid us big money for the race against Jock, and I was able to buy bikes back for the clients that had lost theirs in the fire. They got better bike than before, and they were happy. Duke had tried desperately to ruin our lives, but he’d only served to strengthen them.

I stood there now, watching them work. Bobby was transfixed by the whole thing and assured us that one day he would do what these men were doing. Bobby was at that age that whenever he saw something, he declared it was what he wanted to do with his life. Just the day before he had said he wanted to be a dog walker. I looked at him and smiled. I took Savannah’s hand.

“You know, this is almost like a metaphor for our life. Out with the old and in with the new. My shop is getting a brand-new start in life, and so are we.”

She smiled. “Yeah. You’re right. Despite what we went through, I think it’s safe to say we finally got there in the end. I’m excited for this new future. So, what’s the deal with your receptionist? Are you going to start looking for someone?”

“Oh,” I said uncomfortably. “I was sort of hoping you would still want to work there. That was stupid of me. I didn’t even ask you.”

She giggled. “I’m just kidding. Of course I want to work there. You guys need me remember. Otherwise, the place is going to fall apart. What a mess the two of you are.”

I laughed. “Yeah, Spike said the same thing. There’s no way we can run that business without you. So you’ll definitely still work with us?”

“Only if I get to take breaks now and again and ride the bikes.”

“YOU’RE GOING TO RIDE THE BIKES?” Bobby yelled in surprise.

“Oh yeah, your mother is an excellent rider.”

“I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to race bikes when I’m older,” Bobby declared, and we all laughed. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the thing that he ended up doing. The love of bikes ran deep in our family. And knowing Bobby, he would be the best racer of us all. I kissed the top of his head.

“Okay, let’s go ahead with our walk and go home. Do you want to go to the park?”

  “Yes!”

The three of us walked to the park with a very happy Toto. Once there, we found a park bench to sit on while Bobby and Toto played. It was one of those unusually calm days. A day that was not too hot and not too cold. It was just perfect. Savannah was wearing a green sundress, and I’d never seen her look more relaxed.

“This is nice,” she said and smiled at me. “This is all I want, you know. Just long happy days like this.”

“You and me both,” I said. “I never thought I’d like domestic life as much as I do. But it turns out love it.”

“Yeah but that’s because Bobby keeps us so entertained. Look at him. I can’t believe he finally got the dog he always wanted. He never gave up, did he?”

“How could we say no to him? I knew it was going to happen eventually.”

“Speaking of Bobby,” she said. “We need to talk about getting him into kindergarten. I want him to start a normal life now. I found a few places that have agreed to see us. I was thinking we should go and see a few of them today and make a decision. What do you think?”

I smiled. “Yeah, I think that’s a great idea. Have you had a talk with Bobby about it?”

  “I have. And he’s excited.”

“Oh good. I was worried that he’d ask not to go.”

“Same here. But he’s growing up. It’s time for him to meet some friends and to get out there in the world. I’ve kept him sheltered for far too long.”

“You’ve done a great job as his mother.”

I wasn’t lying when I said that. Bobby could’ve turned out very differently with everything that he had been through. But Savannah was a good mother. It was because of her that he was such a good kid. And I wasn’t the only one who saw that. We visited three kindergartens, and in each one, we were told that Bobby was a wonderful kid with great manners and a good attitude. I felt so much pride for Bobby as he sat politely and answered all the questions that came his way. All the places we visited said that Bobby could join as soon as the following week. So we let him choose the one he liked best. He made his decision based on the place where Toto got the best reception. There was a kind old lady who ran that school and she had taken such a liking to Toto that she had even given him some of her lunch to eat. Bobby had decided that her school must surely be the best one. I agreed with him. Bobby was a good judge of character, and we knew he’d be in good hands.

“I cannot believe you’re going to be starting school next week,” Savannah said as we made our way home. “You’re such a big boy now.”

Bobby grinned. “I am. Oh no! But who is going to look after Toto?” he asked.

“Oh, I didn’t think of that. Well, I guess he could come to work with us.”

“What about Pop? Pop would love to look after Toto while I’m at school,” Bobby suggested.

I grinned at Savannah. Bobby was probably right. Pop got lonely in the house sometimes, and looking after the dog would be the perfect thing for him. How did Bobby always know things that adults hadn’t even figured out? Bobby might only have been six years old, but he was the wisest person I knew at times. I hoped that life didn’t change this about him.

“Great idea. Let’s stop by now and introduce the two of them.”

The day was turning out to be a busy one. We stopped off at Pop’s who was delighted by the new member of our family. He made us coffee and handed out cookies to everyone and we told him of Bobby’s plan.

“You trust me with your dog?” Pop asked him.

Bobby nodded. “Yes. I trust you with all my heart.”

Pop beamed at him. Bobby had a way of making anyone feel special. “Well then, how can I say no? I would love to look after Toto when you are at school. He’ll be in good hands.”

I looked around at my family and smiled. When had my life become so full? Not so long ago the only person that I worried about was myself. I was sure it was all that I wanted, but now I knew I was just biding time until this moment. I had never been this happy.

“Thanks, Pop. We appreciate this. And if it’s ever a problem, Toto can just come to work with us.”

“No, it’s no problem. I’ll come each day and take Bobby to school and get the dog. Then I’ll get Bobby, and he can spend the afternoons with me until you are both finished at work. How does that sound?”

“That sounds amazing. How did I get to be so lucky? Thank you. Honestly, that is a huge help. And Bobby gets to spend time with you every day too, which is great.”

“Of course, I will only do it on one condition.”

  I grinned. “Curry take-out once a week?”

  “I was going to say
once a day, but once a week will be fine too,” he said and grinned at me.

I was on cloud nine by the time I got home. It was hard to think that anything could top the way that I was feeling. I kept waiting for something horrible to happen to burst the bubble, but nothing came my way. In fact, things only got better when my phone rang. It was Spike.

“You will not believe what I just heard through the grapevine,” he said.

“What’s that? Tell me it’s not bad news. I keep waiting for something bad to happen.”

“Depends who you’re asking. But if you’re asking me, it’s definitely not bad news. You’re going to like this one. Duke is no longer the president of XMC. He’s been told to pack his bags and leave. I’m not sure if he’s even part of the club anymore.”

“What? Are you serious? Why not? What happened?”

“Turns out he lost all respect after that day with you. The women especially were upset when they found out that he had been keeping Savannah and Bobby away from you. And they were shocked at the way he treated them. Someone stood up to him and he just completely lost it. He was drinking again, and he went into this mad rage. But he was outnumbered and got kicked out of his own house. I’m not sure who is going to head the place now, but it’s definitely not him. There is talk of XMC joining forces with our own motorcycle club. I think people are just sick of all the drama and want things to go back to normal. You did it, Axel. You did it.”

I laughed. “I almost feel bad for the guy, but then I think about what he did, and I don’t feel bad anymore. He deserves this.”

“You’re right about that. Don’t feel bad at all. Always remember what he did to the two of you. Well, I just thought I’d let you know. I was hoping I’d be the first to tell you. For once, the bad guy didn’t win. That doesn’t happen a lot in so it feels good. I’m going to take Keri out for some champagne to celebrate.”

  I laughed. “That’s not a bad idea.”

I put the phone down and went to tell Savannah what had happened. Her eyes lit up. “That’s great news. He doesn’t deserve to run that place. If things continued the way they were, he was just going to run it to the ground. I’m so proud of you, Axel.”
