Just this morning Kimberly Steele had picked up Mr. Tinkles, or Weenie as she called him. Eleanor had resigned herself to the fact that the dog just didn’t belong to her. Who knows? Maybe Eleanor needed a pet of some sort. Maybe I’d buy her a goldfish.

S.S. Murphy left town, promising to return when her legal team had their case ready, as she had planned to make waves since her stolen money was used to buy the beach house. It sure would be sad if the state were able to confiscate the property.

“It sure was surprising about how Clay Barry withdrew for the election like that,” I said to Peterson.

He raised a brow. “It sure was. You know anything about that that you’re willing to share?”

I sipped my wine and then said, “Nope. Some things are better left unsaid. Don’t you agree?”

“I sure do. My father Hal is moving in to an assisted living facility in town. He likes it much better than the nursing home, but I think it’s best he be looked after a little more closely. I’m afraid my wife Joy was about ready to divorce me if he stayed with us much longer. I’m glad the judge only gave him probation for using Raul Perez’s credit card.”

“That’s fair.” I kept my lip closed about how they should have just dropped the charges. “I heard that the older woman, Bessie, who was staying across the hall from Rob was picked up by her son. It’s so nice she doesn’t have to stay in an apartment like that.”

“She’s The Cat Lady’s sister,” Peterson informed us and in a big way I believed that.

“So what of Rob and Ashton?” Eleanor asked. “Are they getting off on some insanity plea?”

“Nope, they both plead guilty t o murder charges o conspiracy to commit murder . I hear they think aliens now inhabit the prison they’re at. It’s created quite a stir and they are actively investigating as prisoners.”

“I always knew that man was nuts. You don’t believe in aliens, do you, Andrew?” I asked.

Before he had a chance to answer, we all watched in wonder as a shooting star lit across the sky and tumbled into Lake Huron.

  About the Author

Madison Johns began writing at the age off 44 without any prior education or formal training. Although sleep deprived from working third shift, she knew if she used what she had learned while caring for senior citizens to good use, it would result in something quite unique. In 2012 she unleashed her first Agnes Barton mystery, Armed and Outrageous, onto the publishing scene opting to become an independent author. In has gone on to be her first Amazon bestseller.

In 2013 she published two other books in the Agnes Barton series and they like the first, have went on to become bestsellers in both the cozy mystery and humor categories. Her Agnes Barton series features two senior aged ladies digging up clues with enough laugh aloud antics to cause James Bond to blush. It features zany and quirky characters that are easy to fall in love with.

She has also published a romance novella, Pretty and Pregnant, in 2013. In October of 2013, Tirgearr Publishing published her romance novel, Redneck Romance.

Madison is now able to do what she loves best and work from home as a full time writer. She has two children and black lab to keep her company while she churns out more Agnes Barton stories with a few others brewing in the pot.

Madison is a member of sisters in crime.
