“Whatever, dork.” She shut the bathroom door.
I hoped I was right. Beth deserved to be happy. She was the most caring person I knew—the Shelby of our crew, always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself. She’d had her fair share of douchebags and deserved a nice guy.
All of us were sitting on the deck of the boat. Gia announced that she was going to jump off the rope swing into the water. Colin immediately leaped up to join her. One of the staff members helped her, and she screamed as she flew over the side of the boat, then landed with a splash. Colin followed her, and they swam and laughed in the water.
We were next. I grabbed Sam's hand, and we soon joined Gia and Colin. The rest followed minutes later. For a while, we snorkeled and drank. Our final stop was Baby Beach, which was a lagoon where you could snorkel and swim. We hung around on the beach, laughed, and had a good time. It was nice to see us all getting along and not breaking balls.
As we drank our beers while we watched the girls swim, Colin spotted a couple of topless women. Giving us the head nod to look, we all got good shot of three sets of titties walking down the beach.
Gia and the girls stormed from the water towards us.
“Like what you see boys?” Gia placed her hands on her hips while her gaggle of chicks stood behind her.
The others had already lost their balls, and mine were still intact, so I spoke for all of us guys, trying to make light of the situation. “Relax, will you? Its tits, for fuck’s sake. I could pay a ten-dollar cover charge and see them at Centerfolds.”
“Oh, really Michael? You pay money to see women dance naked?” Samantha stood beside Gia in a united front.
“Well, um, no. You know what I mean, Samantha. They’re just breasts; it’s part of the island life. Besides, yours are way better.” I smiled, trying to dig my ass out of the hole.
“Thank you for the compliment. So, you're saying it's okay because it’s the ‘island life,’ correct? I guess it’s okay for us to take our tops off. Right?" She reached to untie hers.
All the guys jumped up at once to stop them.
“Whoa, there, missy. Those are mine and not for public viewing,” Colin said, grabbing Gia's hands and pinning them over her head, bending down and kissing her.
“Same here,” Frankie said, pulling Lexi in, giving her a peck on the lips. “Those babies are for my eyes only.”
To save my ass, I grabbed Sam and gave her my best tough-guy attempt. “If you take your top off, I can't promise I won't punch the first person who checks out your tits,” I said, hoping she wouldn't test me.
“Fine, but next time you see a topless girl, you better have your eyes looking at your feet, or we’ll let our girls free. Capice?” She gave me a look that made my balls shrink.
Best thing I could do was kiss her and hope my big mouth shut the fuck up.
Joey and Beth laughed. “Bunch of pussies,” he said.
“Agreed. I’m taking my top off and don’t give a crap who sees me,” Beth said, untying the string around her neck.
He gave her a look. “Fuck you will. I’ll lose my mind.”
“Gotcha!” She chuckled and slapped him in the chest.
“Okay, enough of this shit. We have to get back to the boat. Plus, I think I’m starting to burn, and I am starving.” Gia moved her strap to show a nasty sunburn sprouting.
We gathered our things and headed back to the boat ending our day on the water.
The next couple of days were filled with touring the island in our jeeps, horseback riding, and parasailing while listening to Gia bitch about her sunburn. She wasn't the only one in pain. The sun in Aruba was so intense that all of us looked like lobsters.
Tonight would be our last night here, and we were going out with a bang. We were taking the Kukoo Kunuku open-air bus and bar hopping around the island, then ending with a champagne toast at sunset.
Waiting for the girls in the lobby with Joey, I had to ask the question that had been bugging me all week. “Dude, what's the story with you and Beth?” I sipped my beer.
“Relax, dick head. I’m getting to know her, unlike you who likes to test drive the chick before you commit.” Joey said defensively.
“Calm your nuts. I was just asking. You stayed with Beth all week while Sam slept with me. If you’re not going to date her, then back off. I don't want to deal with the bullshit backlash. Get me?” My eyebrow rose to make the point.
“Look, man, I’ve never interfered with your shit, so stay the fuck out of mine,” Joey said, getting up and walking over to a bench out front.
Samantha and Beth came around the corner looking drop dead gorgeous. Their skin was sun-kissed, and the outfits they wore only accentuated it.
“Hello, boys. You both look handsome,” Samantha said, coming over and kissing me.
Beth immediately sat next to Joey.
“Hey,” we both said at the same time, with little joy.
“Are you okay, Joe?” Beth asked, wringing her hands.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Mikey just pissed me off is all. You look beautiful. Stay close to me tonight. This bus gets pretty rowdy, and I don't want to end up in jail on our last night here.”
“I will, Joe,” she said, grabbing his hand.
I knew my friend, and he didn’t get close. He liked her and was afraid to admit it.
Sitting next to Beth, I could barely control my dick. She was smoking hot in that outfit, and as much as I wanted to fuck her right there, she wasn’t in the category. She was the kind of girl you take out and get to know, talk to, not someone you just bang and say, “See ya,” when it's over. I hadn’t felt this way about a girl since Megan, and it fuckin’ scared the shit out of me.
“You're quiet. Do you want me to leave you alone? I’m sure you’re sick of having to hang around with me all week.”
“Sorry. I was just thinking. And, no, I don’t want you leaving me alone. The fact is, this week has been one of the best weeks of my life. Getting to know you and spending time with you was great. Hear me out. I’d like to take this a step further if you want?” I looked at her for a sign.
“Further?”
“Yeah, like, date each other?”
She squeezed my hand. “I would love that.”
“Good, ‘cause you weren’t getting a choice,” I said, leaning in and finally fucking kissing her.
I heard the voice that made your nuts shrivel. “Joey, you big dog you, I knew you had something going on with Beth.” Gia slapped the back of my head. “Beth, if you want any dirt on him, just let me know. I have it all up here," Gia said, tapping her skull.
Lexi came to my defense. “Gia, stop. Leave them alone.”
Gia hugged Colin. “I was only joking. If he does anything to hurt you, let me know, and I will kick his ass.”
Laughing, Beth said, “No worries, Gia. I think I have it covered, but it's good to know you got my back.” She bumped me with her shoulder.
Saved by the bus pulling in, I could avoid answering any more questions about what they all just witnessed, or so I thought. There were people shaking maracas, wearing hats, and singing as they climbed up. Hanging back, letting the girls get on first, Frankie was the first to speak, warning me.
“Dude, I hope you’re not going to walk away from her when this is all over.”
Mikey added, "Yeah, bro. Like I said before you walked away from me all pissy, make sure you know what you're doing here. I don't want to have to clean up your mess.”
“What the fuck, guys? First of all, it’s none of your fuckin’ business what I do. Second, I asked her if we could start dating, so put your dicks away. I’m not out to hurt her.”
Those two were a couple nosy fuckin’ broads. Pushing past them, I climbed onto the bus and found Beth. She was shaking her maracas laughing with the girls.
Following right behind, Colin grabbed my shoulder, squeezing it and letting me know he understood why I was pissed. He handed me
a set of maracas, and I joined in the fun. I wasn't going to waste this night pissed off when I could spend it with someone I liked.
The night was a blast. We bar hopped and took shots along the way. It was crazy—people cheering and yelling, passersby waving at us. Our last stop, we had a champagne toast and dinner under the stars at the Casibari Grill.
I was feeling buzzed from all the shots as we stood toasting our last night there while the sun set behind us. Joey pulled me to his side and looked down at me. He had the sweetest smile on his face. Standing on my tippy toes, I kissed him. He parted my lips and swiped his tongue, gaining access to my mouth. My tongue met his, and as we kissed, my stomach and girl parts fluttered. He grabbed my hips, pulling me closer, and I felt his semi-hard dick in his shorts. I needed to rub against him to ease the friction building in my pants.
“Beth,” he said, moving his lips to my ear. “Are you sure you're ready? I don't mind waiting ‘til you are. You're worth it.”
Nuzzling into his neck, I responded in a breathy voice, “I couldn't think of a better way to end a perfect night.”
Grabbing my ass, he kissed me. This time it was fast and furious as if I was feeding a need.
“Good, because I don't think I could hold off much longer.” He brushed against me, showing his excitement.
“Me either, but I need to eat something. I've been drinking all day. Otherwise,” I said, laughing, “I'd call a cab to take us back to my room right now.”
“I can't have you weak from hunger; it's going to be a long night. Let's eat. Once we’re finished, we’re getting the fuck outta here,” he said, grabbing my hand leading me to the table where Samantha and Mikey were sitting.
After eating a beautiful meal under the stars, I was so ready to head back to the hotel. Not wanting to ride the bus because of all the stops, we grabbed a cab waiting out front. The others had the same idea and followed suit.
When we arrived at the hotel, I stepped onto the curb and got nervous. I knew Joey was not the type who’d use me. We got to know each other this week, talking about anything and everything. I felt like we had a special bond. Still—
As if reading my mind, he grabbed my hand and said, “Hey, you having second thoughts?"
“No. I just don't want this to be weird between us afterward. I know you’re going to start dating. And I hope I don't disappoint you.” I looked at my feet.
Joey tipped my chin so that he could look me straight in the eyes. “Beth, look at me. I’m not saying this to get in your pants. I’m saying it because I want to give us a shot. I wouldn't risk the chance of losing a friend.” He kissed me, and I smiled. Tonight would be a perfect end to our time here in Aruba.
Saying goodnight to the group, we silently walked hand-in-hand to my room where I slid the card into the slot, opening the door. Joey stopped me.
“Beth, if you’re not ready, we can wait. I don't want to push you.”
“Joey, I have been waiting all week for this. I’m not going to lie, I was worried that you didn't find me attractive or consider me someone you wanted to date.” Once again, my low self-esteem reared its ugly head.
Stepping into the room, he shoved the door shut with his foot and began to kiss me. Pulling away, he answered my nagging question.
“You’re kidding me, right? I’ve been sporting a boner all week and hiding it behind a towel. I have been waiting for this moment more than you know.”
Kicking off his shoes and pulling his shirt over his head, he had me pinned to the wall while stealing kisses. I placed my hands on his tanned, six-pack torso. I’d fantasized all week long about my tongue trailing down it and under his shorts.
Grabbing the hem of my shirt, he slowly lifted it over my head, placing feather-like kisses down my neck to my bra. He raised his head and waited for me to approve. I unclasped my bra and allowed him to feast. He licked and lapped like a hungry animal as if enjoying every minute. I threw my head back at the sensation. Reaching down, I unbuttoned his pants and grabbed his cock. Joey was huge. He stood about 5'9" with a muscular build, but his cock was enormous.
“Don't worry, Beth. We’ll take it slow. I promise not to hurt you," he said in a husky voice.
“I'm not worried. I am excited.” I dropped to my knees.
Sex with Joey was beautiful—everything I could have wanted and more. Laying in his arms, he kissed my head. “I need to tell you something.” Fear laced his voice.
Thinking that this was the beginning of the end of what we’d shared, I propped myself on my elbows, waiting for the blow.
“I haven't dated anyone in years. I need to ask you to have patience with me and call me out on my bullshit if I forget to be a good boyfriend.”
“Oh-okay,” I said relieved.
“What did you think I was going to say?” He pulled me onto his chest.
“Nothing. I just thought...” I looked away.
“Beth, you have to talk to me if there’s something wrong. And if you don't want to do this, I need to know now," Joey said with panic in his words.
“Oh, God, no,” I blurted. “I want this. I was worried that you were going to dump me.”
"Woman, you need your head examined. I’m not going anywhere. We’re exclusive. If you have any boys out there you’ve been dangling, dump their asses, ‘cause this ass is mine.” He slapped my butt.
Joey rolled me onto my back and slowly placed kisses on my stomach, going down further until he latched on to my pussy. I’d never had anyone do this to me, and I wasn’t sure how to react, but my body took over. It wasn't long before I exploded. Coming up for air, he kissed me with my juices covering his face. Instead of being gross, it made me hornier.
That night, we made up for a week of no sex and woke up the next morning, exhausted, closing a great week of fun in the sun.
Before long, we were packed and at the airport, heading back to Boston. This spring break was one for the memory books. The island of Aruba was known as One Happy Island for a good reason, and I was leaving with a smile.
THE END

“Cheers!” Sylvia, Angie, and I said in unison and downed our third shot of tequila. The liquid burned as it made its way down my throat. I knew I wouldn’t feel a thing after a few more shots.
An excited Angie wiggled in her seat. “I can’t believe we’re here!”
“I know! I thought for sure we’d miss out on spring break this year.” Sylvia grabbed our arms and squeezed tight as she spoke. “Isn’t it awesome?”
“We’re in freakin’ paradise!” I returned the arm squeeze, just as cheerfully.
As an early graduation present for their only daughter, Angie’s parents sent us to Cancun, Mexico for our spring break shenanigans. They reserved a separate suite for each of us with private beach access. To make things even more amazing,
they got us all-inclusive spa treatments at the resort for maximum primping and pampering. The cherry on top: exclusive VIP table service at La Roca Bar, the go-to nightclub for the rich and famous. This place attracted celebrities, athletes, and politicians—la crème de la crème. It was a vacation dream come true.
Thank goodness for loaded parents!
Angie side-hugged me and kissed my cheek. “Sofia, I’m so glad you could make it. This wouldn’t have been the same without you.”
“Are you kidding? I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.” Although I felt grateful for an all-expenses paid trip to the beach, I still worried about my final research papers.
As concern became evident on my face, Sylvia smacked my hand and said, “You better not be thinking about school right now! We’re on vacay!”
“Sorry. I’m sorry! I’ll stop now.” I raised my hands in defense as I tried to mentally return to the moment and enjoy my vacation.
I’d just finished my last midterm two hours before boarding the plane to Cancun and almost didn’t make it. Three days here and still couldn’t let go of my responsibilities.
It probably didn’t help that I’d enrolled in eighteen semester hours, instead of the 12 that were recommended by the Physics department. The workload of those extra classes had definitely taken its toll. Which is why this trip was such a dilemma for me. On one hand, I sorely needed the break. On the other hand, I could’ve used this time to get ahead in some classes.
Another smack—this time on my shoulder—brought me back to the moment. “Yo! We’re over here.” Angie snapped her fingers in front of my face. “You gotta forget about school! We’re here to have fun!”
“I know. I know. It’s just hard to let go.”
“Then let’s get more shots!” Sylvia added happily.
“Señoritas, more tequila?” The sexy waiter assigned to us interrupted our chat. He looked like a Mexican movie star: shaggy brown hair, clear hazel eyes, and a charismatic smile that had surely melted panties of all shapes and sizes. Since we arrived at the club, he’d been flirty and attentive. I assumed this was his way of making tips. Occasionally, he’d look directly at me and wink.
