  About the Authors

  Frank Calabrese, Jr., lived in his native Chicago for thirty-nine years. Mentored by his father and brought into the Chicago Outfit at age eighteen, Frank Jr. became a key member of the notorious 26th Street/Chinatown crew led by Angelo “The Hook” LaPietra and his father, Frank Calabrese, Sr. After going to prison, Frank Jr. turned his life around, and through his testimony in the landmark 2007 Family Secrets trial helped the FBI and the U.S. Attorneys bring down his father and the Chicago Outfit. He now resides in Arizona with his ex-wife and two children.

  Keith and Kent Zimmerman have co-authored New York Times and London Times best sellers. They’ve written books with pop-culture icons like John Lydon of the Sex Pistols, Sonny Barger of the Hells Angels, Alice Cooper, country singing star Trace Adkins, the American Chopper Teutul family, Mythbusters, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. They also co-wrote the biography of Black Panther Party leader Huey P. Newton and penned two pulp thrillers.

  Paul Pompian was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and came by his interest in the Outfit naturally. Mr. Pompian has produced over fifty motion pictures and television programs. His awards include “The Christopher,” the Venice Palm, the Emmy, and the Governors Media award. He’s a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago, and The New College School of Law, San Francisco, and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Polly, and dog, Boss.
