“What happened last time?” he asked in a low voice.
“I had not seen her in three years and she was not communicating. No calls, no texts, no emails, no Skype…nothing. And I sent her an email and told her that I was done chasing her. I had even come to terms with everything when she suddenly showed up at my place when dad and Nan were both out. And she was crying and apologizing…I didn’t know what to do but believe her when she said that she had been abusing drugs and alcohol for the longest time and that she was clean….and I believed her, Steven. That was when we started doing the monthly lunch dates but she screwed that up as well. She began standing me up without any kind of explanation and honestly I just couldn’t…” her voice trailed off. She looked at Steven. “I tried as much as I could and I couldn’t tell anyone because I didn’t want to see the pain in my dad’s eyes or hear the anger in my Nan’s voice,” she said.
“What about me, babe? Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked.
“There was nothing to tell, Steven. It was the same old story, me being disappointed by the same person who has broken my heart over and over again. I was afraid if I told anyone they would see me as a loser or worse,” she said shaking her head.
“You would never look like a loser in my eyes,” he said in a soft voice. She looked at him and smiled before she took a long sip of her tea. Steven took the cup from her and then placed both cups on the night stand. He then took both her hands in his and lifted them to his lips. She looked at him and smiled as he got up from the bed.
“What are you doing?” she asked looking at him. He was now standing next to the bed looking at her.
“You’ll see. Just come with me,” he said as she got off the bed and looked into his eyes. He slipped an arm around her waist and slowly began lifting her shirt up.
“Babe…there’s so much to do…” she started saying as he pulled the shirt from her head.
“For other people. We are the VIPs. All we have to do is relax and have fun,” he said in a low voice before he pulled her top off. She looked at him and smiled. “What?” he asked.
“You could at least even the playing field,” she said in a low voice.
“Oh I intend to,” he said with a smile. “I so intend to.” He looked at her and took off his t-shirt as he smiled at her. She reached for his belt buckle and undid it before she unzipped his jeans. She looked at him as she pushed his pants off. He returned the favor and pushed her own pants off before he helped her step out of her pants. He then stepped out of his own pants and pulled her into his arms before he kissed her. She pulled away and looked into his eyes.
“What happened to the pact we made?” she asked. He raised an eyebrow.
“The one where we don’t have sex until after we get married?”
“You’re the one thinking about sex. I just want to take a shower with my future wife,” he said.
“Talk about taking the wolf to a flock of lamb,” she laughed.
“What is that supposed to mean?” he asked.
“I mean that taking a shower next to a beautiful curvy…wet woman who you can’t keep your hands off is not exactly the best way to remain celibate,” she said. He smiled, took her hand and guided her to the bathroom. She looked at him and smiled. “Is this your way of telling me that some water will make the swelling on my face go away?” she asked as he looked at her and undid the clasp on her bra. He smiled and pulled the bra off. She smiled when she saw the look in his eyes when her bra came off. It was the same priceless look he got every time he saw her naked. It was one of the reasons she loved him so much. Every time with him was like the first time. He took his boxers off and she took off her own panties. She smiled when she saw that he already semi-hard.
He turned the water on. “So are you coming in or what?” he asked as he held his hand out to her. She put her hand in his and he pulled her to him. He could feel her hard nipples pressing against his chest and she knew it was driving him crazy. He turned her around and held her with her ass to his crotch but that was not making anything better. He took a long deep breath and pressed his lips against her shoulder.
“Baby…don’t…” she said in a whisper but he was already tracing kisses up her neck. She briefly found herself wondering how he was managing to keep the water out of his nostrils. “We made a pact,” she said in a low whisper. Between the water streaming down her back and the way Steven was touching her, she was having a hard time keeping herself together. “Babe…” she said in a low voice as he slowly brought his hand up her stomach. He was getting dangerously close to her breasts but he didn’t look like he was going to stop any time soon. She turned and looked at him. Her eyes caught a glance of his now full on erection.
“What?” he asked in a low voice.
“We made a…” she never got a chance to finish that sentence. He leaned in and claimed her lips in one long deep kiss. She exhaled into his mouth and slipped an arm around his neck. She pulled him down and pressed her lips against his. She loved how good it felt having his tongue seeking out hers. However, she was not even regretting the fact that she was about to break her pact. At that moment, it didn’t even matter. She let a moan escape her lips when she felt his hands slide down to her ass. She held him tightly as he lifted her and she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist. In the back of her mind, she knew that it was probably a bad idea for him to carry her on a wet bathroom floor but she didn’t want to talk lest she ruin the moment. He walked them to the wall and she whimpered a little when she felt the cold tiles on her back. She pulled away and looked into his eyes.
“You are so beautiful,” he said in a low voice. She smiled and ran her fingers through his wet hair before she kissed him again. She put her feet down on the ground and held his shoulders against the wall. “What are you doing?” he asked in a whisper as she sunk to her knees. She looked up at him and smile.
“Keeping a promise,” she said before she took his entire length in her mouth. He exhaled loudly and leaned his head against the wall as he felt her tongue softly caressing his shaft. He was breathing long and low as she moved her mouth up and down his cock. He was trying as hard as he could to keep from thrusting into her mouth. He already knew that she was taking more than she could handle and he was amazed at her low gag reflex. The way she was deep throating him was good, too good…maybe even perfect. He looked down at the woman who was giving him all the pleasure in the world and smiled. She was going to be his wife. He was going to have her by his side for all eternity and nothing would ever change that. He breathed a long low groan as he felt his imminent orgasm sending shockwaves through his body. He gasped loudly and held her head against his crotch.
“Baby…slow down…you have to slow down or…” he started to say but it was already too late. He was already erupting into her mouth and she was swallowing every single drop. Steven moaned softly as he felt her slowly sucking him as his cock went limp in her mouth. By this time he was sure that the only thing holding him up was the wall he was leaning against. When she pulled away from him, he was shaking. She looked up at him and used her thumb and index finger to wipe the sides of her mouth. “Well, you kept the promise alright,” he said in a low voice. She smiled and got on her feet before she leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips.
“I’m really good at that,” she said before she took a few steps into the water.
“How about you?” Steven asked. She turned around and looked at him over her shoulder.
“What about me?” she asked.
“I know you are dripping wet,” he said in a low voice. She smiled and turned around leaving him to feast his eyes on the curvy heaven that was her body.
“Well, what are you going to do about it, Davenport?” she asked in a low voice without turning around. Steven walked towards her and slipped an arm around her waist while he guided his other hand to her wetness making her moan softly.
Chapter 5
“I can’t believe you are making me do this,” Meg said as she adj
usted her backpack. “You know very well that I am not a person who enjoys the great outdoors,” she rolled her eyes.
“Trust me, you want to go across this ravine,” Julie smiled and shrugged.
“What do you mean? What the hell are you talking about?” she asked, shaking her head.
“Well, you’ll find out soon enough. Just be patient,” Julie said just as Pamela and Steven walked up to them. “And trust me,” she added in a hushed whisper as Michael and some of Steven’s family members walked up to where they were. “Where’s Nan?” she asked as she looked around.
“At the spa. She said that she would rather have a long soak than spend the night in the woods,” Michael said.
“That is exactly what I should be doing,” Meg said.
“We are going up and across this ravine, Margaret. And we will do it if it kills me,” she said. Meg shrugged and pretended to shiver.
“Well, this is starting to get life threatening already,” she said in a whisper loud enough for everyone else to hear.
“Well, is everyone ready to go up?” Pamela asked. “I have to admit. I haven’t done this in a long time.” She followed the guides up the trail.
Steven took Julie’s hand and smiled at her. Judging by the way Pamela was walking, the remark she had made was a little more than true. She had a pair of runners but her walking style made it evident that years of walking in six inch Manolo heels had forever spoiled her for flats. Julie looked at Steven and smiled.
“Is he here?” she asked in a soft voice.
“He’s waiting for us at the bridge,” he whispered. Meg turned around and looked at them.
“Just what are you two whispering about?” she asked. Julie smiled and shook her head.
When they got to the bridge, it was like a family reunion. She looked around and smiled as she said hello to more people than she could remember. She tried as much as she could to smile through it, mostly because she did not remember half the people who were hugging her and congratulating her…all but the one guy she wanted to see. She looked at Steven and shrugged.
“Where is he?” she asked in a whisper.
“I don’t know, he should have been here,” he shook his head. “Maybe he is just lost in the crowd.”
“Yeah, maybe,” she sighed as she looked around.
In ten minutes, she had heard enough of ‘we are so happy for you’ and ‘that ring is amazing’ comments. It actually took almost twenty minutes before the guides and Pamela called the ‘gathering’ to order.
“So, are we going to start getting across this bridge?” Pamela asked loudly.
“That so called bridge doesn’t look so safe,” Meg shook her head, looking at Julie.
“Relax. This bridge has seen thousands of people across this ravine,” Pamela said as she started walking across. Julie couldn’t help but smile as she watched Pamela make her way across like a duck. Once she was on the other side. She waved and yelled, “It’s the safest thing ever!” Meg looked at Julie and shook her head.
“You first?” Steven asked Julie, smiling. Julie was just about to answer when she heard the only other British accent that made her smile.
“Davenport. I never pegged you for a guy who would want to walk across a ravine.” Julie instinctively smiled.
“I thought you were standing us up,” she said as she threw her arms around Ellis Trevor, one of Steven’s best friends from the UK.
“Why would I stand up the only woman who would turn a gay man straight?” he asked. Julie playfully hit his arm.
“Ellis, what did I tell you about flirting with my woman?” Steven warned. Ellis smiled as they shared a manly hug.
“Well, you can’t really complain. I’ve only ever flirted with this one. All the rest were…I don’t want to talk about it,” Ellis shot back.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would think Steven plans on slipping you a hundred when I’m not looking,” Julie laughed. “You know, for flattering me and everything.” Ellis smiled and then looked at Meg who had been standing in silence looking at the dark haired, grey eyed god standing there as he talked to her best friend and her fiancé. By the time he finally turned to her, she was dumbfounded. “Ellis, this is my best friend, Meg,” Julie introduced them. Meg opened her mouth to speak but all she could do was wonder how he looked under the jeans and t-shirt he wore.
“Nice to meet you,” Meg said in a low voice. Julie smiled at Steven.
“Looks like our work here is done,” he said as he gave Julie a nudge onto the wobbly bridge. With the ground literally shaking under her feet, Julie found herself slowly getting used to the idea of being at the creek resort. The scenery made all the stressful meetings she’d had with Pamela worth it.
When they got across the ravine, Julie looked around and smiled. She could hardly believe that she was going to be spending the night in the most beautiful paradise she had ever seen. She was still looking into the horizon when Steven walked up to her and held her close. She smiled and leaned her head against his shoulder.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked in a low voice.
“Well, I’m wondering if someone has pitched my tent yet,” she teased.
“Yes babe. I have but there is a cottage right there. How about you just spend the night there with me?” he asked.
“No sex,” she said shaking her head. Steven took a long deep breath.
“I am guessing that me pitching that tent has robbed me of any chance of getting laid tonight, hasn’t it?” he asked. She smiled and nodded. “These two days are going to be torturous.”
“We’ve gone for longer dry spells,” she said. He shook his head.
“Never like this. Not when you’re within my reach,” he said before he kissed her neck. She looked at him and smiled.
“Forty eight hours, babe. You can manage,” she said before she turned to look at the canopy of trees below. “Is it just me or is it a bit chilly tonight?”
“Well, I heard Pamela said that it might rain tonight.”
“Well, we better go and get dinner now. We don’t want to get caught out in the storm.”
“It is going to rain not storm,” he said as they walked towards the cottage.

After a dinner of Peking duck, buns, sauce and wine, the entire group was huddled around the fire talking about the pros and cons of their families, all but Michael. Last time Julie saw him, he was taking off with his new girlfriend. She was impressed that he was serious enough about her to bring her to the wedding. Steven looked at Ellis and Meg and then looked at Julie and smiled.
“We are awesome matchmakers,” he said in a low voice.
“That we are,” she nodded. “Do you want to take a walk with me before bedtime?”
He smiled and nodded.
“I really hope we can get away quietly,” he said in a low voice. She looked at him and then at all the coupling that was going on around the fire and then smiled.
“Oh we can,” she said as she started getting up from the group. No one even noticed them slipping away. They quietly made their way to the campsite and she stood and turned around to look at him. “I wish you could come in,” she said in a low voice.
“I wish I could come in too,” he said in a low voice.
“Forty eight hours, Davenport,” she said with a smile.
“Actually, it is now forty seven hours and fifteen minutes or something like that,” he said. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Something like that,” she said in a low voice before he lowered his head and met her lips in a long lingering kiss. “Good night almost husband,” she said when she pulled away.
“Good night almost wife,” he said in a low voice before he kissed her again. She pulled away and looked at him. “See you on the way down tomorrow?” he asked.
“We will be having breakfast at the campsite but another proper one down at the main cottage.”
“That sounds perfect,” she said in a low voice. He
looked at her and smiled.
“You know just looking at you is….” He started before he held the mound of her ass in his hands. She shook her head and pulled his hands away from her ass and gently placed them on her waist.
“No,” she said sternly.
“This is really hard for me Juelz. All I want to do is make love to the woman I love,” he said in a low voice. At that moment, Julie was not sure whether she was fed up or downright angry. She looked at him and shook her head. “What, are you offended?” he asked.
“Actually, yes,” she said as she pulled away from him. Steven had a confused look on his face.
“Wait, I was kidding about you being angry,” he said. “You can’t seriously be angry, are you?”
“Yes I am. What the hell is wrong with you?” she asked.
“What is wrong with me? What is wrong with you? One minute we are all in love kissing and the next you are pushing me away?” he asked, taking a step back. Julie looked at him and shook her head before she turned around and started walking towards her tent. “Juelz, will you please just talk to me?” he asked as she walked away but she was not stopping. He reached for her hand and she yanked it away angrily before turning around. “What’s going on? Talk to me.”
“I just want to save up the passion I have for our wedding night because we are like rabbits every other day and I just want to do one thing right for our wedding. Is that so wrong?” she asked. Steven looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“One thing right? Since when did you feel like you were doing the wrong thing?” he asked.
“Well, this is a first time for me. This is the only time I want for us and I am scared that…” her voice trailed off when the rain suddenly began pouring down. She looked up as the water droplets hit her face. She looked at him and shook her head. “Maybe we just need to sleep on it. Just go,” she said before she got into her tent.
“Juelz, come on. We are still talking here,” he said but she didn’t want to reply. She didn’t have anything to say. “Juelz, it’s raining cats and dogs out here,” he said.
