“Just one of the lads.” He said shrugging, “straight, unfortunately.” He added as he sat on a sleeping bag, I knelt in front of him.

“How do you deal with straight roommates.” I said in a gasp, “does he act weird if he wakes up with an erection?” I added, he laughed.

  “Yes.” he stated, I grinned.

“One of my friends,” Olly, “has a tendency to announce them, it’s like he either wants an applause or something for it.” I said amused, he shook his head then paused, looking a little lost so I moved towards him, lifting his chin and kissing him.

He smiled at me then kissed me again, his hands resting on the back of my head so I stroked down his legs until I got to his knees and I could pull them, making him laugh as he fell backwards onto the sleeping bag his hand covering his mouth in a laugh so I knelt over him. Sitting myself up straight and pulling my t-shirt off. He grinned at me, stroking his hand down my chest then into my shorts.

The walk back to the train station somehow seemed longer than the walk to the campsite. I led the way, practically running even with the weight of my bag as Olly and Frankie moaned and moped behind me, both taking turns to complain about their bags, or their feet, or whatever else they could complain about. Chandler trailed behind, not because he was complaining, but because he was smoking. I raised my eyebrow at him as I turned to see how far behind me they were, he rolled his eyes back at me as Frankie sighed dramatically.

  “How much longer?”

“We can see it.” I said pointing at the red sign that indicated train station. “Come on.” I added turning around and walking towards the station.

I was reading the arrivals board when they finally stepped over the threshold. Frankie coming and leaning against me, reading the board until he found our train.

“Twenty minutes.” Chandler said then sighed, walking towards the platform taking his bag off and sitting on it. Olly followed suit so I also did.

“So, did you find someone?” I asked as I sat beside Olly, he began to nod his cheeks turning red as he played with the straps of his bag.

“It wasn’t actually too long after you. A guy just came and started talking to me.”

“And you had sex with him?”

“Yeah.” He said nodding quickly, “we went back to his tent and we had sex. It was nice.” he almost whispered, then looked at Chandler who was listening with his eyebrow raised. “What?” Olly squeaked; Chandler laughed.

  “Nice.” he repeated; Olly shrugged.

“He wasn’t rough, and wasn’t just after the orgasm, we kind of really had sex and it was nice.”

“I think Harry was a virgin.” I whispered; Olly raised his eyebrow at me so I shrugged then turned to Frankie. “It was very much a lie back and let me lead, I mean I dominate but that was kind of like lead by the hand.”

“Virgin.” Frankie agreed, “or maybe only once before.”

“Fair.” I said softly, then nudged his arm. “You?”

“Yes.” he said then he sighed, “well no, we didn’t have sex, I gave him a blow job and he got me off.”

“And was it good?” I asked, he shrugged so I frowned.

“I had to finish myself off which is always kind of crappy.” He said then grinned, “but also kind of hot masturbating in amongst the trees.” He said widening his eyes at me, I laughed.

“That does sound kind of hot.” I said, he laughed cheerfully as Olly did.

“Yeah, that does.” He said nodding, as Chandler hummed.

“Even to me it does.” He said then he looked back down at his phone.

“It’s my son.” Dad said as I walked through the door, I smiled at him as I dropped my bag in the hallway and followed his voice into the living room. “How was it then?” he asked, I nodded to him.

“It rained all Saturday.” I said, “thunder storm during the night.”

“Did Frankie sleep through it?” he asked, I shook my head,

“No, I got a butting to the nose but at least the blood distracted him.” I said, Dad laughed as he lifted my chin, checking whether I had any lasting damage.

“You seem to still be in one piece. You do however stink.” He said, I laughed as he tapped my cheek. “Go get a shower, I’ll put some burgers on the grill.” He said so I stood nodding to him then dragging my bag up the stairs to my bedroom, before I striped down and got into the shower.

Dad was in the kitchen when I re-emerged watching the burgers on the grill as he cut through some buns, layering them with lettuce and tomatoes. I sat myself on the counter next to him.

“Did you find anyone?” he asked as I picked at the spare pieces of lettuces.

“Yeah.” I said shrugging then I laughed. “Yeah, had some fun, passed the time.” I said, he laughed as he pulled the grill out and set the burgers onto the buns, then got the mayonnaise out of the fridge and passed me it to squirt onto my burger. I followed him towards our table, sitting opposite him as I pressed the bun onto the burger.

“Did Olly and Frankie?” he asked, I nodded as I picked up my burger.

“Yeah, we all passed the time.” I said, he laughed. “Except Chandler.”

  “Well of course.” He said,

“Of course.” I repeated as I began to eat my burger.

“I had a date too, by the way.” He said, I raised my head to look at him,

“Did you?” I asked, he nodded. “And did she, he come back here?”

“She.” He said then he laughed, “no. no we didn’t get further than dinner, she was… boring.”

“Boring?” I repeated laughing, he nodded.

“So that, was a no go. Unfortunately.” He said tutting, I tutted back at him so he smiled then reached into his bag, bringing out an envelope, I inspected it so he met my eyes. “No more shoes.” He said, I gasped at him,

“How can you deny me my shoes?” I said dramatically seeing the laugh in his eyes as he began to count money out onto the table.

“You get a wage Sam; you want shoes buy them through your wage.”

“You have a go when I do.” I said as I finished my burger, he smirked then nodded.

“One hundred.” He said then slid it across the table. “To do whatever you please with.”

“But not shoes.” I sulked; he tapped my hand. “Are you sure you don’t want to keep it for my keep?” I asked, he shook his head.

“No, it’s your money.” He said, “it’d be wrong of me to use it to the pay for the house. I don’t want your Mum paying for the house.” he added, so I nodded as I bit my lip because of course my Dad didn’t want my Mum to contribute to our living. “So, keep due Friday, normal amount. That is yours to do what you please with.”

“Thank you.” I said softly, he nodded to me as I took the notes.

  “When are you in work?”

“Tomorrow.” I almost moaned, “full days because it’s summer.” I added; Dad nodded.

“Good.” He said as I took my plate. “Keep you away from that troublemaker Frankie.” He said, I laughed.

  Chapter Six

  My favourite part of my job was when kids came in to buy their first big bike. The selection process took ages, they questioned every possible element of every possible bike before they made their final two selections. Those two, were the two they could ride around on the bike track to get a feel for them. Once they’d chosen which one they liked better they then got to choose the elbow and knee pads, the helmet and of course any add ons like a bell, or streamers on the handles. The child I was with today had three very specific requests for their bike;

  It was to be red.

It had to look like it was on fire.

The bell had to have Batman on it.

They had narrowed it down to two very similar bikes, and I could tell their parents were getting aggie because the bikes looked practically identical.

“What do you think?” the child asked so I crouched down beside them, looking between the two bikes.

  “I
think…” I began, then I smiled. “This one.” I said pointing at the one on my left, “it’s far redder than that one.”

“Yes.” The child said excitedly, “and the flames look like real fires.” They stated then looked up. “Mummy, Daddy I want this one.” They said, I heard the relief in both of their parents’ sighs.

“Hop on.” I said as I put the other bike back onto the rack. “Let’s ride to helmets.” I said, the child nodded happily as they climbed onto the bike, excitedly peddling ahead of us until they reached the wall of addons. The child hopped off the bike to look so I picked it up. “I’ll go make sure this is ready to go, when you want to pay just ask for Sam.” I said, then I smiled my best customer service smile. They both nodded back as I rolled the bike until I could put it on the repair station to fill the wheels.

“You look so hot when you’re working.” Frankie said, I frowned as I looked through the wheel then I sighed, watching as he smiled then spun the wheel around.

“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you still be sleeping.” I said, he laughed so I stepped aside from the bike to look at him. He grinned at me, “well?”

“Did you get your guilt money too?” he asked his eyes widening happily, I nodded. “You did, let’s go shopping.”

“I’m in work.” I said, he tutted at me as he looked at his watch.

“For another ten minutes.” He stated; I rose my eyebrow at him.

  “How do you know that?”

“I know your shift schedule Sam.”

  “It’s the summer.”

“Okay, I know your summer shift schedule Sam.” He said then laughed, “great alliteration. You sent me a message this morning at half nine, which means your shift started at ten. Your lunch was at one, so, you finish in eight minutes, at five o’clock.”

“Impressive.” I said as I lifted the bike back to the floor. “It’s almost like you’re obsessed with me.”

“I want floral shirts.” He said, “and one of those nice striped ones.” He said thoughtfully, “shoes?”

“Not allowed.” I said, he tapped his nose.

“Who’d know.” He said, I grinned then nodded to him.

  “Eight minutes.”

“Six now.” He said amused, so I nodded and drove the bike to the till.

“What’s yours for this time?” Frankie asked as we walked arm in arm down the strip of shops.

“Mum.” I said then frowned at him, “I’m not sure, it could be my birthday but that doesn’t seem right.” I said then laughed, “she usually forces a visit for occasions like that.”

“True.” He said softly, “mine’s Dad. I presume it’s the yearly child support.”

“Even though you’re eighteen.” I said, he put his finger on his lips.

“Shush don’t tell him, he still thinks I’m thirteen.”

“You could pull that off.” I said, Frankie gasped as he hit my elbow then pulled me into the first shop. Music pulsed out in a loud techno beat as Frankie let go of my arm, and grabbed onto my hand so he could pull me easier.

“How are you feeling today?” he asked turning to look at me, I opened my mouth to reply then paused, he shook my hand. “Cocoon?” he asked, I nodded softly.

“I can’t really be butterfly in work, can I.”

“No, true.” He said as he pulled up the shoulder of my work polo, “but you can when we’re shopping.”

“Yes.” I said softly, he nodded pulling me out of the variations of shirt and jeans towards the wide selection of dresses. I turned to look at him, he grinned as I shook my head.

“Oh come on Sam, its not our first time.” He whispered, as he hugged my arm so I nodded to him, walking him forward until we spilt and he walked towards the big fifties dresses whilst I walked amongst the longer dresses, feeling the material between my fingers until I found one so I riffled through until I found my size, lifting it off the rack then jumping as Frankie reappeared beside me.

“If I could get this in a shirt, I’d be sorted.” He said as he held a particularly floral dress to me, I smiled at him as I stroked over the skirt.

“How much?” I asked, he winced so I laughed. “Too much?” I suggested, he nodded.

“But not too much to try on. Come on.” He said as he grabbed my hand and weaved me around the racks until we got to a changing room.

He pulled me in, taking me into a little cubicle and closing the door behind us, unbuttoning his shirt almost instantly so I tugged on my polo, hanging it on over the little hook for hangers. Then I turned my attention to trying to unravel the dress from the hanger. It slipped seamlessly over my head, falling against my body so I turned, looking at myself in the mirror, then at Frankie over my shoulder.

“The problem with dresses…” he said as he also looked in the mirror, “is you need a chest to fill them out, and my dysphoria will not allow for that.”

“You look beautiful.” I said, he met my eyes in the mirror, I smiled so he laughed.

“You too pretty boy. I like this.” He said thoughtfully as he stroked over the dress I was wearing, it was simple. White, navy blue and red stripes. The stripes very thin the dress almost nautical, it came in at the waist, and went back out into a full skirt. He touched the back of it, looking at me before zipping it up, although he paused. “I flat out refuse to believe you are a whole two dress sizes below me.” he stated, I laughed covering my mouth so he gasped hitting my shoulder, then finished zipping up the dress. “Now I’m sad.”

“Give over.” I said turning to him, watching as the skirt ballooned out around me, I took a moment to smile before cupping his chin. “You look gorgeous. Screw your dysphoria and screw your dress size.” I whispered; he met my eyes so I shrugged. “You’re beautiful.” I said, he smiled then licked his lips, I leant my forehead on his, taking a deep breath as I studied his lips. Until we both jumped at the sound of something falling in a different cubicle.

“Come on baby, let’s go and find something we’re going too buy.”

“Okay.” I whispered then turned, “can you unzip me?”

“You bought shoes, didn’t you?” Dad said as I closed the door behind me, I dropped the bag that had brand new pairs of Vans in behind me then moved so I was in his view.

  “No.” I said, he laughed.

“Liar.” He stated, I almost smiled.

“I didn’t spend it all on shoes.” I said nodding, he nodded back slowly, “just, some.”

“Presumably more than half.” He said, I nodded.

“You presumed right.” I said then I grinned, “how did you know?”

“I know how much vans cost.” He said, I shook my head as I laughed. “Oh, I know that you finished work at five, it’s almost ten Sam.”

  “Frankie came to work.”

“Ah.” He said, I nodded. “I presume you’ve eaten?”

“I have.” I said amused, “I might just go to bed.”

  “Oh.” He said,

“Oh.” I repeated, turning back to him so he shrugged.

“You can if you want, of course, but I spent some of my guilt money today too.”

“How do you know we call it guilt money?” I said as I laughed, he smiled.

“Frankie isn’t quiet son.” He said, I nodded.

“That is fair, what did you buy?” I asked, he smirked like a teenager as he picked up a little bag passing it to me, I frowned as I pulled the case out of the bag, then I laughed.

  “Awesome.”

“But if you want to go to bed.” He said, I shook my head.

“No way.” I said shaking my head as he sat on our couch.

  “Are you working tomorrow?”

“No.” I said then I laughed, “sre you?” I raised my eyebrow at him,

  “No.” he said,

  “Are you lying?”

“Little bit, but whatever.” He said, I laughed as I put the disc into the console.

  “You’re as bad as me.”

“Hey! If you hadn’t stayed out with Frank
ie all night, we might’ve been enough levels in for us to go to bed at a decent hour. You made your decision.” He said, I laughed as I fell back onto the couch next to him.

“Level five?” I asked, he nodded as we both watched the load screen.

“Five.” He agreed then shook my hand.

Olly had always been able to ride his bike with some speed, he used to relish in being able to get to the end of the road and back multiple times before I got to the end myself. He enjoyed hills, anything that might help him accelerate.

So, either, he’d slowed down, significantly or somehow, I’ve sped up, as we stayed together as we cycled over the dirt path, watching squirrels scamper away to hide up trees as we rode past.

“So, your Dad influenced you to stay up until three?” he asked as we began to cycle uphill, I laughed.

“We reached level five around one.” I said nodding, “our deal was level five and we go to bed, but then the cut scene began and it looked interesting so…”

“What level did you go to bed on?” he asked as we stood to get more momentum.

“Seven.” I said, “and it was only because Dad was in work for ten, so he figured he could still get six hours and be functioning.”

“Your Dad is like my idol.” He said amused, I laughed. “Like he’s the kind of adult I want to be.” He said as we reached the peak of the hill. We nodded to each other before raising our feet from the pedals so we could glide down the hill. “He got me a train for my birthday, remember.” He said, I looked at him, “we’d just met, it was my eighth birthday, and most people were getting me little kid’s toys, you know little trains that chooed and lit up, although they were fun, I was still eight, I wanted something cool.”

“Naturally.” I said nodding, he nodded with me.

“Your Dad, you I suppose, got me a Revell Big Boy Locomotive, the box said ten plus on it.” he grinned. “My Dad and I sat and we built it together over one weekend, because it was a little bit difficult but, we did it.” he grinned,

“And I loved that train, I still love that train, but whenever I look at it I just think about how your Dad knew I loved trains and decided not to treat me like a baby because of it.”
