I gasped as the fabric left my body, but before I had a chance to react further, he did the same to my bra, tearing it off as though it was tissue paper. My breasts tumbled free, and he grabbed one with each hand as he continued to cover my neck with kisses. My nipples hardened as soon as he touched them, and the anticipation built in me by the second.

Connor's hands moved down, down my body, caressing my bare curves and setting to work on the front of my pants. Soon they were at my ankles, and I was in nothing but my thong panties. Those didn't last long either. Once he had them off my body, he grabbed me by the hips, my palms slamming against the wall as I tried to brace myself. Connor was totally in control, and my toes curled as I waited for the fucking that he so clearly wanted to give me. I craved his cock like I'd never craved anything before in my life.

I heard the sound of Connor's belt unbuckling followed by his fly unzipping. Knowing that his cock was exposed but out of my sight, I took one hand off of the wall and reached around to grab it. A sigh escaped my lips as I wrapped my fingers around his thick member, the flesh rock-solid and almost hot to the touch. But before I could enjoy the feeling for too long, Connor snatched my hand from his prick and slammed it back against the wall.

"You stay right how you are," he said, his voice hot in my ear.

He kept one hand pressed against mine on the wall, and with the other grabbed his cock. I turned into jelly the moment I felt his head against my lips. The feeling was beyond compare.

"Now," he said, "you're gonna tell me what you want. More specifically, you're gonna ask for what you want. And be really, really polite about it."

"I," I started, the anticipation so intense that I could hardly form the words. "I want your cock inside of me."

"What did I just say?" he asked. "You're not demanding anything. You're asking nicely. Like a good girl."

"I w—" I started, catching myself at the last moment. "Please give me your cock." I couldn't help but allow a naughty smile to form on my lips. He was being a dominating little prick, and I loved every second of it.

"That didn't sound very sincere," he said. "Ask me again."

I took a slow breath. "Please, pretty please, with sugar on top, give me that cock."

  That did it.

With a smooth, fluid shove, he buried his cock inside my pussy. I screamed with delight the moment he entered me, and by the time his entire length was inside of me, I was glad that he was holding me up; if not, I very well might've collapsed were I stood. He held his cock still for a moment, the feeling of fullness like heaven.

Then, he began pounded me relentlessly. He bucked into me hard, ramming that prick into me over and over, the sound of his hips slapping against mine filling the air. With each thrust, I could feel his frustration, his irritation, his annoyance all blend into pure sexual energy as he gave me the punishment that we both knew I deserved.

He grunted each time he slammed into me, his cock filling me with each thrust. It didn't take long at all before an orgasm started to build deep inside of my pussy. I struggled against his grasp, but knew it wouldn't do any good. He was far too strong to let me wriggle away from him, and deep down, I knew that all I wanted was to feel powerless and controlled. It was a side of me that I didn't know I had.

Connor continued to pound me mercilessly, and as soon as he arrived at a steady rhythm, I fell into a strange, trancelike state. My orgasm arrived soon after, spreading out from my body and wrapping me in its warm tendrils. I moaned, I screamed, I squirmed—I loved it.

Connor's orgasm was soon after, and with a few deep thrusts, he came hard, unloading himself into me. The explosion deep in my pussy sent another shuddering of pleasure through my body, and as soon as he was done, I felt like my legs just might turn to mush. His thrusting slowed as he came, and between his cock and his come, I felt good and filled.

Finally, after a time, he came to a total stop. "Just what the fuck am I gonna do with you?" he asked.

I didn't know. But I couldn't wait to find out.

  CHAPTER 6

  JANE

The buzzing of my phone from my pants pocket jolted me back into the waking world. I was ready to dismiss it and go back to sleep, but the combination of the insistent buzzing and the bright morning light streaming in through the tall windows of the apartment roused me awake.

However, there was a problem: Connor was snoring away right on top of me, the tattoos on his left arm a messy, colorful blur right in front of my face.

The phone stopped for a moment, then started ringing again. Whoever was calling wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Hey," I said, quietly at first. "Hey!"

"Hm?" Connor said, his eyes still closed. "Wha-what?"

"Get up," I said, drumming on his hard upper back with my fists.

"Hey, cool it," he said, opening his eyes. "What's the fuckin' emergency?"

"Phone's ringing," I said. "It might be important."

"Fine, fine," he said rolling over and letting me free.

I rushed over to my pants pocket just in time for the phone to stop ringing. A text from my mother soon followed.

  - Where are you? I know what's going on. Please message me so I know you're safe.

I sent her a text back to let her know that I was fine. Hopefully, that was going to remain the case. Then, another one followed soon after, the contents of which made my jaw drop nearly to the floor.

"I don't like that look," Connor said, rising up from the couch, his total nudity not bothering him one bit.

  "It's nothing," I said.

"In case you haven't noticed," he said, "we're in the middle of something of a situation here. I'll tell you what is and isn't ‘nothing'."

"Um," I started. "it's my parents. They want you to come by for lunch."

His brows furrowed. He looked confused.

"That's a joke, right? I'm keeping you safe and they want me to drop by for finger sandwiches or some shit?"

"Not a joke," I said. "You know who my parents are—they're the ones who got me pulled out of witness protection, if that gives you an idea of what their reach is. And they want to meet face-to-face the man who's responsible for my life."

"This is fucking insane," Connor said. "We're both in danger and they want me to swing by their penthouse to do a little meet-and-greet?"

  "That's it," I said.

But before either of us could say another word, Connor's phone began to ring. He marched over to it and answered.

  "Hanes. What's up?"

"Uh-huh. Yeah. No—you're kidding me. This is some kind of joke, right?" The conversation went on like that for a time, with Connor completely unable to believe what he was hearing. When it was finally over, he turned off the phone and tossed it onto the couch.

  "Well?" I said.

"Your fucking parents used their pull to talk to Sapien HQ and make sure that I came by. Anything for our fuckin' donors. Good news is that our contacts in the Thrasher Clan let us know that I'm not currently in their bulls-eye for the fight last night. As far as they're concerned, it was an inter-clan battle. But I'm not out of the woods yet.”

"Well, then," I said, secretly enjoying watching him squirm. "Let's not waste any time."

  ***

A couple of hours later, the two of us were on the street in front of my building. Connor was dressed in a white button-down and dark jeans—the nicest outfit I could convince him to wear. But he forced a compromise in his own way by rolling up the sleeves and exposing the tattoos that covered his ropey forearms.

"This is fucking ridiculous," he said. "I can't believe your parents are making me do this."

"Well, they are," I said. "I know you're used to doing your own thing, but here in my world, there's decorum to be concerned with. You know—keeping up appearances."

"Yeah," Connor said, a grin forming on his face. "I could tell last night that you're really concerned with being all prim and proper."

My eyes went wide. "First of all, no fucking talk like th
at front of my parents. If they find, even suspect, that I'm screwing around with a biker thug like you, then I'll be fucked."

"What," Connor said, crossing his arms, that smart-ass little grin still on his annoyingly ?handsome face, "a Sapien not good enough for their little girl. Shit, I got my own place, even a pension. I'm a real fuckin' catch."

"Yeah, a catch with a mouth like a drunk sailor," I said. "I'm serious—try, try to be on your best behavior. If not making me look bad isn't enough, just try to think about the fact that you're representing the Sapiens in front of one their biggest donors. You might think us foxes are all stuck-up snots, but that doesn't mean our money doesn't do some good around this city."

"I don't have any trouble thinking both that, and that you're all a bunch of stuck-up snots."

I rolled my eyes. "Just, try to act civilized," I said. "Are you ready?"

Connor craned his neck to look up at the top of our building.

"About as ready as I'm gonna be."

With that, we headed into the grand lobby of the building and a quick elevator ride later, we were up. I couldn't believe how nervous I was, and my eyes kept flicking over to Connor.

"Yeah?" he asked, raising his eyebrows as he finally noticed my gaze.

"Nothing," I said. I didn't want to encourage him. Something told me that Connor wasn't exactly the type to respect the decorum that people like my parents took so seriously.

The elevator doors opened, revealing my apartment.

"Holy fuck," Connor said, strolling into the place like he owned it and taking a look around the expanse of our entrance room. "This is fuckin' nice. I know you foxes got money, but, uh, damn—you got money."

I glanced to the entrance to the room from the drawing room to the left and saw that my parents were standing there at the threshold, both dressed in upscale daywear, surprised looks on their faces. I wanted to crawl into a hole right then and there.

"Um, Connor," I said, rushing over and grabbing him by the arm. I cursed myself for being unable to resist noticing just how thick and hard his muscles were as I took hold of him.

  Focus, goddammit.

"The Mister and Missus!" he shouted out, strolling over to my parents with the same easy confidence that he'd walked into the place with. "Damned pleasure to meet you both."

He shot out a meaty hand, and both of my parents looked at it as though it were something that they weren't just quite sure what to do with.

"Connor Rickart," he said, as if trying to remind them just what he was doing with his hand.

"Ah, Alton Ainsworth," my father said, taking Connor's hand while keeping his eyes on him. "And this is my wife, Pearl."

He gestured to my mother, who was clearly unsure what to make of Connor.

"Now, I see just how Jane got so hot!" Connor said, eager taking my mother's hand and planting a loud kiss right on her cheek.

When Connor took his face away from my mother's her cheeks were a deep shade of red. I didn't blame her one bit.

"So!" Connor said, clapping his hands onto his hips and looking around. "Hell of a place you got here."

"It's, ah, a home that's been in the Ainsworth family for a few generations," my father said.

"Good for you!" Connor said. "Can't imagine how much this place costs these days. I bet your great gramps picked it up for six baskets of apples and a fence-painting back in the day."

"Um, Connor," I said, stepping to his side. "We, um, don't really like to talk about money. Kind of a gauche topic."

"Suit yourself," Connor said. "I love talking about it. Well, mostly the kinda shit you can buy with it. Like whiskey, and, um, whiskey, and, uh, well, I think I'm about out of ideas."

He took another look around, as if searching for something that he'd misplaced.

"Speaking of which, where's the bar in this joint? I bet you guys have one of those fancy globe bars like in the movies, right? Always wanted one of those."

"Drinks are in the study," my father said, leading Connor into the other room.

"Then let's get on in there!" Connor said.

The two men left, and I watched as my mother's eyes stayed locked onto Connor. She clearly had no idea what to make of him. And I might've been seeing things, but I could've sworn that her eyes tracked down to Connor's ass as he walked by. I think want to give this too much thought; the idea of my mother ogling some guy that I'd slept with was just too much for me to take.

Speaking of "too much for me to take," that's exactly what I got when we walked into the study. We had a guest, and my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw who it was.

"Is this the man of the hour?"

It was Leonid Dempsey, the little twerp my parents wanted me to marry. What he was doing here, I had no idea. But it was the last thing I wanted.

Leonid gingerly stood up from where he was seated and sauntered over to Connor with total rich-boy confidence.

"I am," Connor said, looking Leonid up and down. "And let me guess—Little Lord Fauntleroy?"

  Leonid's face crinkled.

"Leonid Dempsey," he said, extending his hand.

  "Connor Rickart."

Seeing the two men standing face to face was the most severe contrast I'd ever seen in my life. Where Leonid was slight, primly dressed, and more than a little effete, Connor was a solid brick wall of a man who looked like he didn't give a damn about anything but drinking, fucking, and fighting. Even seeing Leonid's smooth, flawless hand in Connor's calloused grip was enough to give me pause.

"And Jane," Leonid said, turning away from Connor and embracing me. "Always a pleasure to see you. Unfortunate it had to be under such circumstances. And with such company."

"I heard that," Connor said, already helping himself to the expensive booze at my parent's bar.

"Yes," Leonid said, now under his breath enough that Connor couldn't hear it. "That was the intention."

"Boys, boys," my mother said, placing her hands on Leonid's shoulders. "Let's all have a drink and get to know one another. I think that would be a more pleasant way of spending the afternoon than butting heads like a couple of grade-schoolers."

"My apologies, Mrs. Ainsworth," Leonid said. "It's just that the situation that we're dealing with; it's got my nerves a little frazzled."

"We're all a little on edge," my father said. "And that's why we're here, so Mr. Rickart can assure us that our daughter is in good hands."

Part of me expected Connor to make some crack where he took that literally. But instead, he simply gave a thumbs up as he took a drink. I thanked heaven that he was above making a joke in front of my parents about how we'd slept together. Twice.

"So, Mr. Rickart," my mother said.

"Please, darling," Connor said. "Call me Connor."

My mother blushed just a bit.

Oh, God, It's that fucking fox-bear thing. Please don't let me catch her flirting with him. Please, please.

"This situation, as my husband said, is quite…troubling. Not least of all is the fact that it all started with our daughter sneaking out to a bear bar and getting into business in which she absolutely shouldn't have been involved."

She shot me an evil eye after speaking.

"Yes," Leonid said. "It's best for all of us if bears stick to bears, and foxes to foxes. Not reason for the species to mingle unless necessary. Causes nothing but trouble."

"That's not the way I see it," Connor said. "I'm more of a ‘free association' kind of guy. And in my experience, it's good to mix things up a little."

Drink in hand, he plopped on one of the couches across from my parents. I took my seat in the nearest open chair, worried about what was going to be the next thing to come out of his mouth.

"And I've been with the Sapiens for a long-ass time now—going on a decade—and if there's one thing the different shifter species love doing, it's gettin' into trouble with one another."

Leonid narrowed his eyes, and I could tell that he was getting a little hot under the collar. Foxes like him, the kinds w
ho've had live-in help at their beck and call from since they were able to cry for attention, weren't exactly used to being talked to like this from anyone, let alone biker bears from the wrong part of town.

"That doesn't mean we shouldn't at least have some sort of ideal in mind," Leonid said. "Maybe just some informal rules of conduct."

  Connor snorted.

"You mean like the kind that got this little lady and her friend right in the middle of a bear bar on a Friday night? Good luck with that shit."

Leonid looked like his eyes might pop out of his head at any moment. A silence hung in the air, and, thankfully, my mother stood up and spoke.

"Let's not get into these sorts of things before we eat," she said. "Bad for the digestion."

"Not the only thing it's bad for," my father said under his breath as he drained the last bit of his brandy.

Right at that moment, one of the maids entered the room and let us know it was time to eat. I gulped hard; I couldn't believe that we had at least another hour of this to go. I was starting to wonder if Leonid and Connor were going to make it out of this luncheon alive.

The five of us entered the dining room, where the table was set and the usual view allowed us a wonderful view of the city at noontime. I slid into my seat and watched as Leonid and Connor both eyed the chair next to mine.

  Oh, great. More alpha-male bullshit.

Leonid was quicker, however, and slid into the seat before Connor had a chance.

  Fuck.

Connor took the snub in stride and slid into the chair across from me, and my parents took their seats at the heads, neither of them any the wiser to the little head-butting that just went on. Leonid flashed me a pleased little look, and part of me wanted to grab the nearest of the four forks on the table and jam it into his thigh. He was just so confident in the idea of me already being his; I wanted to send a clear message that he shouldn't act so certain.

But then again, he was who my parents wanted me to marry. What else could I do?
