“Jace,” she whispers, followed by a moan when I nibble her lobe. “What about your brother and his wife?”

“Trust me when I tell you that they’re doing a lot more than what we’re doing right now.”

With a bit of maneuvering, she turns and straddles me, tossing her hair back over her shoulder.

I gulp and gulp again. Her pussy is pressed tightly against my dick while I have the most amazing view that I’ve ever seen. Her large breasts are right under my nose. Her nipples pushing against the lace are just begging for my touch. As I reach up, I meet and hold Savannah’s eyes, watching her reaction as I rub against her nipples with my fingers. Her eyes drift closed and her hips gyrate on my dick as I watch the pleasure roll through her.

I want nothing more than to lie her down on the sofa and make love to her, but I can’t—not here. Trying to rein in my desire for my beautiful woman, I cup her face with unsteady hands and bring her to my lips.

“I can’t love you here no matter how much I want to, and I certainly can’t without ever tasting your lips.” My warning being spoken, I grab her shirt and help her back into it because I sure as hell don’t want anyone else seeing her without it.

Once she’s dressed, I cup the back of her head and finally taste the lips that I’ve dreamed about having wrapped around my cock.

At the first touch, our mouths fuse together and her flavor bursts on my tongue, sending my head spinning. She tastes dark and sultry.

Wrapping my arms around her waist, I settle us down on the sofa with Savannah lying on top of me.

  Savannah

As Jace devours my mouth, I feel as though I’m sinking. If anyone was to ask me my name, I seriously don’t think that I’d be able to tell them. He tastes of hot male, and the hardness that I feel against me is driving me crazy. He has my head spinning, that could be lack of oxygen, but I don’t think so. Being this close to him, while his mouth is on me, has my thighs clenching with need.

I wish we were lying on the sofa in his house instead of his brother’s apartment, because the need I feel in him matches the need in me.

My hips have a mind of their own and slowly caress the throbbing length of him. What I wouldn’t give to touch him with my hands while we were naked, skin against skin.

Jace holds me against him with his hands tangled in my hair.

I need to get my hands on him, but all I can reach are his sides. I slide my hands down and gently rake my nails along his ribs, causing his erection to jerk in reaction.

Smiling against his mouth, I place feather light kisses along his whisker-covered jaw, and nibble along his earlobe. My delight at having his hips push into me when I tongue his ear sends my own arousal rushing between my thighs.

My hand runs along the waist of his shorts, and I let my finger dip beneath. His stomach hollows out and his erection quivers.

I’ve never been so forward, but I’m so desperate to feel him that I don’t care right now.

We’re in his brother’s apartment, which I need to keep remembering.

With that thought in mind, I keep his shorts fastened and caress over the top until I come into contact with his hardness.

He groans, “Savannah,” in warning, and then curses, “Fuck,” at the same time as he pushes into my hand. I tighten the hold that I have on him and feel his wide girth, and length. He’s long and the more I rub against him, the more uneven his breathing is becoming.

“Baby, please. You have to stop…Oh, God.”

I let up slightly and rest my chin on his chest while I watch him.

“I want to take you to dinner,” he starts. “ I want to date you, treat you the way you deserve before I make love to you, regardless of the evidence to the contrary.”

I continue to caress him, and smile when his eyes practically roll back in his head. “You like that.”

  “Fucking, A.”

“Jace, we’ve been dancing around being together since we met. Us being intimate isn’t going to shock anyone…even my uncle.”

  “What the—”

I have no idea what he was going to say because while I was talking, I’ve been rearranging him, and now the crown of his dick is poking up past his waistband.

Rubbing with my finger, more and more pre-cum leaks and I so want to taste. Never before, but with Jace, I’m desperate.

Before he can stop me, I settle between his thighs and swirl my tongue around the bulging head of his cock, and catch more of his taste against my tongue. His grip in my hair tightens, but I can’t stop.

“Savannah. God. Please. You have to stop…I’m so fucking close.”

Having this kind of power over him makes me daring, which is why I quickly unfasten his shorts and reach inside his briefs.

“Fuck. Fuck…” He ends on a loud groan when I suck the large head into my mouth.

Wrapping my fingers around his girth, I suck him like I would a Popsicle. Gripping the base of his shaft, his legs quiver as he arches up, panting.

I move my fingers to slowly massage his balls, and then he gasps, and starts shooting his thick, white release down my throat. I don’t pull back, instead I take everything he has to give before licking him clean.

Making sure he’s back in his shorts, I snuggle down in his arms, and feel happy.

“I…I don’t know what to say.” He kisses me on the forehead. “Thank you doesn’t cover it.”

“You don’t need to thank me. I craved to taste you, so I’m happy.”

Groaning, he closes his eyes. “When we’re alone at my place, I’ll return the favor tenfold. In fact, once I get you in my bed, I doubt you’ll be out for a while.”

  “Keep me there forever, Jace.”

He pauses, and then says, “That’s my intention.”

“Where have you been all my life?” I raise my head and meet his gaze.

  “Right here.”

“Is it safe to come out,” Ryder shouts from a crack in his bedroom door.

“Five minutes earlier,” Jace whispers with a groan.

  I chuckle. “It’s safe.”

Resting my head against Jace’s chest, I turn my face to kiss his chest before getting into a sitting position. It’s uncomfortable lying on him while his brother and wife are looking on. If I knew them well then it wouldn’t be a problem, but this feels weird.

Jace winces as he tries to discreetly rearrange himself in his shorts while sitting up. He catches my eye and smirks in male satisfaction while I feel my face heat up.

Being in Jace’s arms is what I’ve wanted since we first met, and I’ve lost count of the number of X-rated dreams I’ve had since then. But never in my life have I been so forward as to instigate a blowjob. Richard had hinted on more than one occasion that he’d be into it, but I’d been less than enthusiastic, which I’d been unable to hide.

Not so with Jace. I’d wanted to put my hands and mouth on him so badly and, even knowing that his brother was in the room next door and could walk out any minute, hadn’t dimmed my craving to have him in my mouth.

His penis is long and thick, and the thought of having him inside me has my body in a state of arousal that I’m afraid I’m going to be unable to hide. In fact, if I carry on thinking along those lines, I’m going to stay highly flushed.

“What are you thinking about?” Jace interrupts my sexy thoughts, and picks up my hand in his before caressing my knuckles with his lips.

Quickly glancing over my shoulder to the kitchen where Ryder and Dahlia are with their baby, I turn back to Jace and narrow my eyes when I see the teasing light in his.

Smiling, I place my other hand on his thigh and slowly caress upwards.

His eyes darken before his other hand covers mine. “I think we need to calm down,” he hisses.

  “I agree.”

We entwine our fingers, and I change the subject from us to softball, “When is the charity softball game taking place?”

“It’s in a few weeks. Richard is playing on the department’s team,
while I’m on the academy’s.” He sighs. “Should make for an interesting game.”

All the joy drains from me at the reminder of Richard, and Jace’s features have darkened.

“I need to talk to Ned because I seriously don’t know if I can work with Richard after what he did to you. All I’ll want to do is kill the bastard.”

I nod slowly. A part of me feels numb by what happened and the other part is still terrified that Richard will show up at my house again. Even if he doesn’t, he’s still part of my life through my uncle. I groan silently. I’m going to have to explain everything about Richard to my uncle and friends and the thought causes my stomach to hurt. I hate this.

“I get that. I need to get my locks changed because he still has a key.” I also admit, “I’m not sure if he gave me back my set of keys, whether or not I’d trust him to not have made a copy.” I shrug, and slightly wince from the pain. Now that the sexual haze has worn off, the sting from my bruises is back.

“I have a friend, Roger, he works as a security consultant so I’m sure he’ll come out and change all your locks. He might add some extra security measures.”

“That would be great. Thank you.” I find that I’m blinking away tears at Jace wanting to make sure I’m safe.

“Hey, none of that.” Jace gently pulls me against his chest and kisses the top of my head. “I won’t be able to settle down until I know you’re protected, okay?”

  I nod.

“Do you want to come on a picnic with us?” Dahlia asks, making a sudden appearance, while dropping down onto the coffee table. “We’re going to the park so nothing fancy, but we have plenty of food.”

Glancing at Jace, I see his delight at the thought of a picnic so, taking a chance, I answer for him, “We’d love to.”

“That’s settled then.” Dahlia jumps to her feet. “Give us ten minutes and we’ll head out.”

“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” Jace asks me, a frown marring his brow.

“They’re your family, Jace, why wouldn’t I want to go out with them? Besides, it’s obvious how much you love them.”

He doesn’t say anything for a few minutes, then he leans forward and places a tender kiss to my lips. “Thank you,” he whispers, caressing my lips with his words.

With the way he’s acting, it’s as though he didn’t expect me to say yes. “Jace, you don’t have to thank me.” I kiss him back, and it takes a lot to stop myself from wrapping my arms around his neck and climbing onto his lap.

  If only we were alone.

“I think this is the first time I’ve ever taken a girl out with my family.” He gives an embarrassed chuckle.

“That wasn’t happening with that bitch,” Ryder interrupts on his way past to the bedroom.

“What does he mean?” I ask, wondering whether I’m about to open a can of worms.

“I was with someone when I lost my leg. Basically, she didn’t want to be dating a cripple and she up and left. But, whenever I went around to my parents’ house, or out with Ryder before I lost my lower leg, she always had something else to do.”

“The bitch,” I blurt out, and whip my head around when I hear clapping behind me.

“I couldn’t have put it any better,” Dahlia offers.

Turning back to Jace, I kiss him again. “I’m sorry she wasn’t there for you, but I’m hoping she’s in the past…because I want to be your future.”

Jace cups the back of my head. “I couldn’t have put it any better if I’d tried.”

He seals his lips to mine and everything goes out of my head. I can’t think as his lips stay fused to mine while our tongues slip and slide together in an erotic kiss.

Jace pulls away, slightly. “And,” he plants a quick kiss to the tip of my nose, “you are going to be my future.” He becomes serious. “I mean every word, Savannah. You’ve given me so many sleepless nights that it isn’t funny anymore.” He smirks. “But, if this thing between us goes any further, then you need to know I’m not messing around. I’m serious about us.”

My throat is clogged up with tears, but I smile and caress his face with my hand. I love the feel of his whiskers against my fingers, which also makes me wonder how it will feel between my thighs.

He chuckles. “Save those thoughts for when we’re alone… Are you really all right after what happened with Richard?”

“I’m fine, although I’m a bit apprehensive about seeing him again when I’m alone. At least he left before he really did any damage.”

“I won’t let him hurt you again… Let’s go and enjoy ourselves in the sun.”

  Chapter Ten

  Jace

The slight breeze tickling the nape of my neck is cooling me down slightly. That is until I look down and meet Savannah’s gaze. She snuggles closer to my groin. By the mischief sparkling in her green eyes, I’d say she knows what condition I’m in. It isn’t exactly difficult with her being so damn close.

After we’d eaten in our quiet spot here at the park, Dahlia had settled down with Ryder and their baby, Savannah had nestled beside me with her head in my lap. Since then, I’ve been very uncomfortable—a small price to pay to keep her close.

Despite the tension I’m feeling in my groin, I can’t help but feel a sliver of peace sitting in the park. My fingers play with the soft red curls, and I watch the woman who unexpectedly snuck into my heart. She gazes up at me, happiness shining in her eyes, and my heart thuds wildly in my chest. No one has ever affected me the way that she does. Savannah’s hair is caressing my thighs and lower leg with the slight breeze.

I cup the side of her face, and sigh in pleasure when she turns into my palm and places a kiss inside. Her lips feel like heaven and have been the cause of many midnight fantasies—like in the apartment, but we’d both had too many clothes on.

Inhaling, I try to calm my body’s response to her proximity, but that’s a mistake because inhaling brings more of her scent into my lungs. She always smells as fresh as a flower, nothing too sweet, but fresh.

Caressing along her cheekbone with my thumb, her eyes start to drift before popping open again. She offers a wry smile. “Sorry. I didn’t get much sleep last night, thanks to you.”

With a huge grin splitting my face, I respond, “So what was I doing to you?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” she teases.

“If it’s anything like the dreams I’ve been having about you, then I think we need to change the subject, and fast.”

Her giggles have me twitching inside my shorts, and gasping when she rubs against me. “Behave,” I hiss between clenched teeth.

“Talk to me, Jace.” She takes my hand and, kissing my knuckles, entwines her fingers with mine.

“What do you want to talk about?” I could look at her forever and never get bored with the view.

“You. I want to know about Jace Stone. Tell me anything that pops into your head.”

I’ve never been good at talking about myself, but I’m sure I can drag something up so I don’t look like a total moron.

“Hmm, well, I joined the academy fresh out of college. It’s all I ever wanted to do.” I smile. “As a kid, I’d arrest Ryder. My poor brother spent most of his time in a makeshift jail… At the academy,” I get back on track, “I excelled at police work, and eventually I started to work my way up the ranks. It wasn’t long after that I took my detective exams.”

I have her undivided attention, and find I want to tell her everything. Well, I’d rather leave the bitch out of it, but I can’t if we’re going to move forward together.

“Just after my exams, I started dating someone, and eventually, it became serious. I’m not sure it would have lasted regardless of me losing my lower leg, but she was familiar and I’d had enough of one-night stands. Really, I’d wanted to settle down and she was just there. God, how wrong I was. When she left, I was angry and pissed because of how I was. I couldn’t fight. But eventually I realized that she actually did me a favor because I didn’t wa
nt to fight to keep her. I was relieved she’d left.” I kiss her fingers before placing them back on her chest. “I was pissed at the whole world at the time and I let it fester until I couldn’t take it anymore. I dimmed it with booze, and I mean a lot of alcohol. I’m not proud of that part of my life, but it happened and it’s part of my past.”

“You’re amazing, Jace. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. What you’ve overcome since losing part of your leg is overwhelming, but you’re now on the right track.” She smiles. “But I’m here to help and support you, I hope you realize that.”

I nod, not trusting my voice.

After a few minutes of silence, I ask, “How much do you know behind me losing my lower leg?’

“Just that you were injured in the line of duty, and that it was bad enough that they had to remove what they did…” She pauses for a moment as though she’s collecting her thoughts. “My uncle protects his friends, and although I was in college at the time, I remember how distraught he was over what happened to you. He never went into detail, and you don’t have to if it causes you pain to remember…but if you want to talk, about anything, then I’m here and I’ll always listen to you.”

She has me swallowing back my emotion. We’ve known each other over twelve months, but only recently spent time together away from the field, yet I feel as though I’ve known her for years and that she’s my life. That makes no sense.

Deciding to finish my whole story so that we can have it over and done with, I continue, “I was so damn proud to receive my detective shield, and then in a blink of an eye, it was all taken away…because I resigned. I didn’t want to go on.” I sigh, heavily. “I was chasing down a punk who’d gunned down two officers outside the convenience store he’d just tried to rob. I chased him while all hell was breaking loose, and eventually had him cornered. He’d taken cover behind a parked car, so I did the same. Within seconds, I felt a searing pain in my ankle. Turns out that four high caliber bullets had ripped my ankle and lower leg to shreds. I don’t remember much else about that night other than your uncle being there. I do remember him holding me, begging me to stay with him.” My voice is hoarse now that I’ve finished talking, but I’m glad it’s all out in the open between us.
