ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Eileen Green, writes erotic romance novels interlaced with intrigue, and occasionally, shape-shifters.
When asked how long she has been writing, Eileen answers, since the 7th grade, a long time ago. Her English teacher, Mrs. Weekes saw potential in the student who began to dabble in writing. Eventually, marriage, kids, and then single motherhood came along, and her writing took a backseat as life does when faced with obstacles.
The writing continued even though page after page sat in boxes or on the computer, waiting for the day they would be allowed to be free to tell their stories.
Life dealt a cruel twist to her family and friends. The lesson learned was to not live with regrets. She began to write again looking for the right path to go down.
Her first erotic romance novel came from a dare and Lyndee’s Saviors was written. Now, under Eileen Green, there are two series, Men of Montana and The Tundra Protectors, and the beginning of a third, Tiger’s Lair, which is a spin-off of Men of Montana. A couple of stand-alone books are included in her menagerie of books.
Romance stories with happily-ever-after endings are her favorite, making sure she writes them because every romance needs to end with all characters being forever in love.
Eileen divides her time between Washington and California, although she really loves Washington. The beauty there providing a welcome backdrop to write.

Prologue
The lights in the club flickered before the place went totally dark. Carrying a box of new products down the stairs to the storeroom in the basement wasn’t the best thing to be doing when the lights went out. However, that’s what Jackson Malone was doing when the transformer blew outside the building. Unfortunately, he was in mid-step when it went dark, and he missed the next step. The metal grating that was the staircase was unforgiving, and he tried to catch himself. The box went flying as the leg he had tried to step with slid down the stairs. His leg knee hit the metal steps, sending shards of pain shooting through his leg.
“Motherfucker!” he exclaimed to no one.
By the time the emergency lighting came on, Jackson found himself near the bottom of the stairs, one leg bent behind him in an ugly twisted angle.
Finding himself in precarious situations was something he had become used to during his adult life. For sixteen years of his life, he had been shot at, stabbed several times, and generally been a punching bag for training classes. He had endured a couple of gunshots that he thought he wouldn’t live through, but this was awkward because of where he was and that it was a stupid move.
He reached for his phone in the case at his belt, thankful that it hadn’t come loose from its leather home. Dialing 911 was the only thing he could do since he was the only person in the Tiger’s Lair, one of Denver’s top BDSM clubs.
The owner, who lived in an apartment across from Jackson’s on the top floor of the club, was out of town with his two subs, his woman, and his man. They had driven up to Montana to attend a multiple wedding for eight brides, all of them in the BDSM lifestyle. One of the poly relationships had started up a BDSM club in Western Montana and had utilized Alex as a consultant.
Alex had finally convinced the secretary of the club, Emma, that he loved her on a trip to Montana a year ago, and on the way, they had found Trevor, who was the brother of one of the men up there.
Through connections made over the past three years with emergency services in the city, Jackson had to hope he would get someone familiar to the club.
“911, what is your emergency?”
“Yes. I fell down the stairs,” he answered through gritted teeth.
“Is anything broken?” the woman asked as in the background Jackson could hear her typing.
“I believe my leg is,” he said as he tried to shift. The pain shot through him again.
“What is your address, sir?” the lady asked, a slight recognition to her voice. Since he was on his cell, they couldn’t get his location without asking.
Jackson gave the address, unsure that the lady on the other end was who he hoped it was.
“Tiger’s Lair,” she said quietly. “Jackson, is that you?”
If the woman
on the other end of the phone wasn’t in the setting she was in now, she would have been calling him Sir.
“Yes, Savannah, it’s me,” he responded, a bit embarrassed. “The front door is locked, so you’ll need to send Felix if he’s working. If not, they’ll have to break down the door.”
“I just dispatched Felix to another incident, but I can see if I can change him in route.”
“No, Sav. There could be people out there who are in worse shape than me. Just have him get here as soon as possible. I’m down in the basement,” he instructed.
“I will, Jackson. Is Mr. Daniel’s still away? Do you need me to call him?” she asked, trying to be helpful.
It was no surprise that Savannah knew what was going on at the club, for she had just been here yesterday afternoon, looking for a distraction. There were people in the lifestyle that identified as the total opposite of what they were like in real life.
Savannah Morrison enjoyed the bite of the whip, a good rope session, and some role-playing, for her life was stressful otherwise. Holding life and death at her fingertips, her ears, and her mouth, quick decisions had to be made as she spoke to people in need, yet here, she could let all that go and let others make the decisions.
He had done scenes with her several times, but they never connected on a sexual basis. She just wasn’t his type.
There were people in the lifestyle who just wanted the play, whether they be a top or a bottom. It was something that they needed in their lives, but didn’t necessarily need sex to go along with it. For some, it was a form of therapy. They could release their normal lives as they walked through the doors and focus on something that could relax them, or excite them. Whatever it took to let them escape for a while.
“Yes, they’re still gone. Alex said it’ll be a few more days. It’ll give them the opportunity for some time alone,” Jackson responded to her question. “Oh, if you get any calls from the surrounding area, it sounded like a transformer blew right outside, then the lights went out.”
“Okay. Thanks for that info,” Savannah said quickly, still typing away. “I’ll have Felix give you a call once he gets there.”
“All right. Thanks, Savannah.”
Once he disconnected the call, he looked around the dimly lit area. The light came from the emergency light above the door to the right, which was the gym. The storeroom was straight ahead, and to his left was the room that a couple of the members used to make things or fix items for the club. The woodcrafter by hobby was a high-powered attorney. The other, a leather crafter, was a pilot for a major airline. Very seldom were they there at the same time, but it gave them each a mostly private area for them to work.
Right now, dildos and butt plugs were scattered in their packages all over the floor. If he wasn’t in so much pain, he would have been laughing. He wasn’t sure who Felix’s partner was now, but Jackson hoped they had a good sense of humor.
Grinding his teeth, Jackson pushed himself down the three remaining stairs, groaning with his progress. Once on the floor, he pulled his left leg around, so he could assess his situation.
Pain radiated up and down his leg. The knee was either broken or dislocated, while the fibula looked like it had snapped in two. One end of the break was sticking out of the side of his shin. His other leg looked all right though there was pain. It probably was just banged up from hitting the rails of the bannister, or even the stairs themselves. Concentrating on what he could determine was the worst of his injuries, he put the other leg to the back of his mind.
Frustration and anger welled up within Jackson. A former Navy Seal who had seen injuries in jungles and small brick-and-mortar towns in the Mid-East, falling down the stairs and breaking his legs was nothing.
He was never going to hear the end of this from the guys on his former team, as they were all here, working in the club in one capacity or another.
Cold air permeated his surroundings. He hoped it wasn’t shock setting in, but there wasn’t any heat in the stairwell or the hallway. The only two rooms down here that were heated were the gym and the workroom. Both doors were closed, so there wouldn’t be any heat seeping into the hallway.
Jackson used his phone to play some games so that he kept his mind active as he waited. He found himself dozing off several times, his head nodding back, hitting the rail of the stairs, and waking again. He was going to be one big bruise by the time he got out of this mess.
Felix had texted him about half an hour ago to let him know he was on his way. The snowfall was most likely creating chaos out on the roads.
The sound of thudding footsteps across the floor above him caught his attention, nearly two hours after he had fallen.
“Jackson?” he heard a familiar voice call from upstairs. The calling became louder right before the door upstairs opened.
Bright beams of light bounced along the walls and the stairs as two sets of boots sounded on the latter.
“Well, well, well,” Felix Ramirez teased as he stopped a couple of steps above Jackson. “Looks like our Jackson doesn’t know how to walk down the stairs.”
“Fuck you,” Jackson teased, able to give back as well as receive.
Felix stepped over Jackson as well as he could with a medic’s bag in hand. “What’s going on, buddy?” Felix asked as he bent down next to Jackson.
“Damn transformer blew!” Jackson grumbled. “The fibula is broken in the left leg, and knee is…”
“We’ll do an assessment, Mister…” a melodic voice sounded above him.
Felix turned his attention to the staircase, shining his flashlight there so his partner had more light to descend without an issue.
Jackson shifted so he could look over his shoulder, ignoring the pain his body was registering. Coming down the stairs in the typical blue uniform was a woman that caused his cock to harden like a rock in three seconds flat.
The slightly baggy uniform did little to hide the voluptuous body of the woman that filled it. Her breasts were large, and her hips were curvy as they moved down to her thighs. A small waist gave her the feminine touch to her body.
Golden blonde hair was pulled away from her face, held back by the ponytail swinging back and forth as she made her way down the stairs. Strands of hair had pulled free and were sticking out in all directions. She was carrying a couple of bulky bags, and if Jackson weren’t in his current predicament, he would have stood and taken them from her, even though he was sure she was used to carrying them.
“Jackson. Jackson Malone,” he finished for her as he found his voice.
She was a vision floating down to him, and he couldn’t believe how his body was reacting toward her. Her clothes were a bit manly and a bit too big, but he could practically see her naked body beneath all the material.
“All right, Mr. Malone. We’ll get you assessed and go from there.” Her voice was a bit faint since she was on his right side, but he could still hear her. “I’m Abigail.”
Felix was looking at Jackson’s shin but stood and took the bags from Abigail. He took her hand and helped her step over Jackson so as not to step on him.
Jackson felt something deep inside him he didn’t understand as he watched his friend Felix hold Abigail’s hand. He wanted to hurt Felix in that moment for touching her, and for the first time in his life, Jackson knew what jealousy was.
When Felix released her, Jackson felt better, but as he continued to look at Abigail, his stomach churned a bit and his dick was still hard. He folded his hands over his crotch and prayed for deflation before she or Felix could see it. It would be embarrassing if he arrived in the ER with a hard-on.
The first thing that was revealed from one of the bags was a small lantern. Once Felix hit a button, bright light lit up the area.
In a flurry of hands moving about, medical equipment being passed back and forth, and small conversation between Felix and Abigail, Jackson could only sit back and watch.
Blood pressure taken, heart listened to, temperature taken were the norm. Ques
tions about pain levels and if he wanted any meds for it were asked by Abigail.
“Did you hit your head when you fell, Mr. Malone?” Abigail asked, the concern evident in her voice.
Jackson looked at her and found her staring at him. “No. I didn’t.”
Abigail didn’t move, but continued to stare. “Abi,” Felix said as he looked at her, too. “Abi?” Still nothing. “Abi!” Felix said a little more forcefully.
Pink tinted Abigail’s cheeks as she lowered her eyes. Jackson watched her after Felix, a Dominant at the club, had caught her ogling Jackson.
Her hands shook slightly as she used a pair of scissors to cut up the length of the leg of his jeans. God, he loved those jeans. The closer she got to his crotch, the more worried he became with the shaking hands.
Thankfully, she stopped without having to be told. She handed the scissors to Felix and spread apart the denim material to expose the damage done to his left leg.
“Oh, my,” she tsked as she ran her hand down his shin away from the wounded area.
Tingles of arousal hit Jackson again. He was certain the woman before him was going to see what she was doing to him. He would be embarrassed by it, but not as embarrassed as Felix watching the entire scenario play out before him. Jackson knew he wasn’t going to live this moment down.
“Definitely looks like a break in the fibula.” She moved her hand up toward the pulsing black and blue ball that had been his knee. “We’ll need to splint this up before we transport you.”
Following her gaze up the stairs, Jackson knew what she was thinking. It was going to be a bitch to get a gurney down the stairs and then back up them with him on it.
