And back to Nikki Rushbrook, because there is more to be said. You are much more than a beta reader. You are a constant sounding board who has never let me down, never said you didn’t have the time when I needed to talk something out, and has never led me (or my characters) astray. You dubbed Shep the Jackass Whisperer (which he totally is) and helped me push these books to where they should be. Thank you.
To all of my readers. Thank you for going on this journey with me in Mirabelle, Florida. I can’t wait to start another one.
And, lastly, to my dog, Teddy. I adopted him in the middle of writing this book, and his puppy snuggles and sweet face are the best forms of stress relief a girl could ask for. Adopting him was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
About the Author
Shannon Richard grew up in the Florida Panhandle as the baby sister of two overly protective but loving brothers. She was raised by a more than somewhat eccentric mother, a self-proclaimed vocabularist who showed her how to get lost in a book, and a father who passed on his love for coffee and really loud music. She graduated from Florida State University with a BA in English literature and still lives in Tallahassee where she battles everyday life with writing, reading, and a rant every once in a while. OK, so the rants might happen on a regular basis. She’s still waiting for her southern, scruffy, Mr. Darcy, and in the meantime writes love stories to indulge her overactive imagination. Oh, and she’s a pretty big fan of the whimsy.

Always a wingman…
Owen McConnell is used to being ignored. After all, it’s only when he appears as the Colorado Avalanche’s team mascot that he gets all the attention. When the costume is off, women tend to gravitate toward his famous hockey player friends. But after he meets lovely, damaged Paige Adams, he knows he can be the star player for her. She’s raising funds for the hospital burn unit, and Owen’s determined to help her out—and sweep her off her feet.
The burn unit has been near and dear to Paige’s heart ever since the doctors helped her after a vicious attack. Yet the scars—both emotional and physical—haven’t faded as much as she’d hoped. She’s closed herself off from relationships, and the thought of opening up is terrifying. But Owen’s sexy charm might be just the push Paige needs to start loving again.
She planned for everything—except him.
Fresh off a painful breakup, wedding planner Ainsley Slone is suffering from an acute case of “always the planner, never the bride.” And she’s over it. It’s time for a break—to figure out how to let everything go and just have a little sexy fun. And she knows the perfect person to teach her how: irresistible manwhore Ryan Lawhill.
Their deal? No sex, just fun. It’s the perfect plan—until the chemistry between them starts sparking like crazy. Ryan knows all too well that Ainsley’s looking for a happily-ever-after, but he’s always been keep-it-fun-or-it’s-done. Yet the moment they cross The Friend Zone, all bets are off—and soon the ultimate player is the one playing for keeps.
Reality bites. Hard.
The last time Raven did “real” was sixteen months ago, when she spent one unforgettable night with the tattooed, impossibly sexy Nico, and then he disappeared the next day. Since then, she’s kept her guard up and her feelings to herself. She doesn’t have time for relationship drama when she’s busy searching for her long lost sister.
Nico hasn’t stopped thinking about Raven—her sultry curves, inked skin, or the fact that he ditched her after their night together. Now that they’re living in the same city, he knows this is his chance to make things right. What better way to prove to Raven he’s for real than helping her find her sister? But when the lines between right and wrong start to blur, putting his job on the line, Nico has to decide if the risk is worth the ultimate reward.
