“Thank you for the blow-by-blow commentary, Corey. Now get back in this bed so I can kiss you and grope your ass. Renesh isn’t the only one here who knows how to take good care of another man.”

Grinning, Corey rejoined his lover and submitted eagerly to his kisses and caresses.

By now, the two men had gotten into the habit of conversing as they lay together in bed after sex. Sometimes teasing, sometimes serious, these talks were almost as enjoyable for Corey as the sex acts themselves.

“That yellow-rose incense does smell good,” he remarked. “I’m going to have to get a little statue of Ganesh for my apartment so I can burn incense in front of him at night. Then you’ll feel at home when you come over and sleep at my place.”

“An excellent idea. But why Ganesh, in particular?”

“You told me he was the Remover of Obstacles. Sounds like a handy guy to have around.”

“Wouldn’t you like a statue of Vishnu, as well?”

“That’s a good idea, too. He’s sort of our patron and benefactor, after all. He brought us together in the first place. Then he and Ganesh can keep each other company during the day, when I’m not home.”

“And you can make jewelry for them both.”

“I can take up deity dressing as a hobby and a business sideline. Okay, I’m only kidding about that part. I can’t sew. Which means I may not be totally gay, after all, since I lack the dressmaking gene. But I’m serious about getting some Indian things to decorate my apartment with. I bet you know where I could find a couple of statues, like the ones you have here.”

“I do indeed. I know exactly where to find them. Which reminds me of something I wanted to discuss with you. Tell me about this employer of yours, Mr. Rosenthal.”

“He’s a great guy. Very nice to work for.”

“I’m sure he is. But does he ever give you any time off?”

“Of course. As a matter of fact, I have several weeks of vacation time saved up.”

  “I guessed as much.”

  “Oh? How’d you guess that?”

“Because you’re a workaholic at heart, just as I am.”

“True. Maybe that’s why we both seem to like to play so hard when we do take a little time out for ourselves.”

“I think, Corey, we had better form our own support group to combat our unfortunate addiction to work. Would you like to take some of your vacation time to go on a trip with me?”

  “I’d love to.”

“I have to go on another trip next month. To India, this time. It’s business again, but I’ll be able to spend some time with my family. That’s why I’ll be taking Renesh with me this time.”

Corey assumed that this was Kaustav’s indirect way of warning him that he’d be left on his own during the two Tamil men’s absence. Corey tried to put a brave face on it.

“That’ll be nice for you guys. Are you suggesting that you and I go off somewhere together before you leave for India or when you get back?”

“That’s not what I’m suggesting at all. I’d like you to come to India with us.”

  “You’re kidding.”

“I’m quite serious. I’ll pay your way, of course.”

“You’ll do nothing of the sort. I can afford to go on vacation.”

“But perhaps such a trip isn’t your idea of a vacation.”

“On the contrary. I’d love to see India.”

“You can buy all the Indian things you want, including statues of Ganesh and Vishnu, and have them shipped back here. I know some good places to shop. And I’ll make sure you have a good time.”

“But you mentioned seeing your family. Spending some time with them. I suppose I’d have to make myself scarce and do some sightseeing on my own while you do that.”

“Nonsense. I want you to meet my family.”

“But I recall you saying they’d throw a fit if you ever showed up with a boyfriend in tow, and especially a white, non-Indian, non-Hindu boyfriend.”

“True. What I neglected to mention is that they throw fits all the time. They’re rather emotional and volatile. But they get over it. You Americans have an expression, ‘like it or lump it.’ So, if they don’t like it, then lump it they must. But don’t worry. You’ll charm them, and they’ll take to you, and I know how to get around them and talk them into adopting my way of thinking. You’ll see. That is,” Kaustav added, with a hint of uncertainty now creeping into his voice and manner, “provided you’re willing to join me in the line of fire.”

Corey affected nonchalance. “Oh, I guess I can risk it, if you will.”

“Then you’ll come? You’ll really come with us?”

  “Sure.”

“I’m so glad. I assume your passport is in order?”

“It’s got a special stamp on it that allows me to be taken across international borders for immoral purposes.”

  Kaustav smiled. “Better yet.”

“I can’t believe I’m actually going to go to India. I’m so excited. Wait’ll Kevin hears about this.”

“Ah yes, your friend Kevin. I’m curious about him after all you’ve told me about him. I must meet him sometime. We’ll have to invite him to come here for dinner some night.”

“I wouldn’t dare introduce you to Kevin. He might finally stop bluffing and decide to become gay, and then he’d try to lure you away from me.”

“Impossible. But seriously, Corey. If you’re going to meet my family, then I’m going to have to make the acquaintance of your friends. Including your, by your own account, exceptionally horny straight friend Kevin.”

“All right. And you’ll like Kevin when you do meet him. He’s fun. Damn. Now I’m so excited, thinking about the trip, that I don’t think I’m going to be able to go to sleep. Not right away.”

Kaustav embraced him under the covers. “We must think of something to occupy ourselves until you do feel sleepy and to rid you of some of that excess energy.”

“I can think of one or two activities that should do the trick. So to speak.”

“Excellent. Let me get out bed just long enough to offer another stick of incense to Ganesh. Just in case any unforeseen obstacles do come up and get in the way of our quest for sexual fulfillment.” But before he got out of the bed, Kaustav paused long enough to give Corey a kiss. “And other forms of fulfillment, as well.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Roland Graeme is one of several pseudonyms used by a prolific author of erotic fiction. Graeme, a descendant of Swiss immigrants and a native of Pennsylvania, resides in Buffalo, New York. He earned a PhD in English by writing his doctoral dissertation on the novels of Sir Walter Scott (“Roland Graeme” is the protagonist of Scott’s novel The Abbot). His interests, in addition to literature, include classical music (especially opera), history, and world religions, as well as, not surprisingly, human sexuality, in all its variety and richness. Graeme has been, at one time or another, a teacher, a factory worker, a civil servant, and a music critic. The one common denominator throughout his career(s) has been his passion for freelance writing. He continues to hold down his current full-time “day job” while writing in his spare time.
