“That went better than I expected,” he said.
“He’s trying,” Kristen admitted. “I probably shouldn’t tell him the accent colors at the wedding will be the Marauders colors.”
He squeezed her hand. “How are you feeling about him walking you down the aisle?”
“I hadn’t decided, but after tonight I’m willing to give him a chance. He’s really making an effort. And if he starts being a jerk again, I’ll put on the invitation that every guest has to wear a Marauders jersey.”
He laughed as they reached the car, but instead of opening her door for her, he spun her around and backed her up against it. “Speaking of jerseys, what are my chances of seeing you wearing mine and nothing else tonight?”
She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close. “I’ll expect a hat trick out of you.”
“I love when you talk hockey to me,” he said before cupping the back of her neck and kissing her until the sounds of the city faded away. Then he ran his thumb over her bottom lip. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She smiled and cupped the side of his face. “I still can’t believe I fell in love with a hockey player.”
“Present tense.”
“Yes, I am in love with a hockey player.” She stood on her tiptoes for another kiss. “Forever.”
