Antler Plan (A Konrad Loki Thriller Book 1)

“Promise me one thing, Konrad,” Gideon said, emotion choking his voice. “Don’t ever pull a Houdini on me. Nothing hurts more than sudden disappearance. My dad did it to me once. I did it to my mother…”
Konrad placed his hands on Gideon’s shoulders. “I promise.”
The Adam’s apple bobbed in Gideon’s throat as he swallowed his relief. “Let’s go. Ville and Rebecca are waiting for you to guide us.”
Konrad nodded. Slowly, they turned to leave. As they walked further from the grave at Konrad’s slow pace, sunshine lit their faces through the softly falling snow. Gideon broke into tears he didn’t try to repress anymore.
Konrad guided him through an open gate.
