“We were getting ready for your surprise party,” her mom said.
So they had a good party and Emma was not scared of monsters anymore.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT a girl named Lilly walked by a pawn shop and saw a shiny red dress. She walked into the story and checked to see the price tag. The dress cost four thousand dollars. WOW! That’s a lot, she thought so she asked the cashier for a lower price. The cashier was on her break so a woman named Anabell helped her and said, “You will need to pay the price.” She then walked away.
Lilly took the dress and ran. Anabell was blind but could still see with her eyesight stick, which made a click-click sound when near. She knew that Lilly took the dress and walked with click-click stick and followed Lilly all the way to her house. Anabell walked into the house and saw that Lilly was asleep.
In the morning, Lilly could not see. She looked across the room and had no sight. BUT Anabell did. She was still in Lilly’s room and had taken her eyes and said, “Everyone must pay.”
ON A DARK, STORMY NIGHT…. Just kidding! This is not that kind of story. My name is Chloe and I am twelve years old. I’m the oldest and I have a two year old little sister, Mia. Ever heard of the terrible twos? Well trust me, it’s true. She gets all of the attention.
Anyway this is a story about me. One day after school I decided to go to the big, green woods behind my house. My mom says it could be dangerous but I didn’t care because she says that about anything and everything I want to do. Then I saw something in the distance as I was walking.
Should I check it out or should I stay put? These questions filled my head.
Do I have answers for these questions? I don’t know.
I was growing more curious and even more curious. So then I decided to quickly go get the box and run home as fast as I could. Once I was in my room, I shut and locked the door. When I opened the box, inside I saw a puppy. It looked like a chocolate lab but I am not a dog expert.
Just then I heard the garage door open. Sure enough, when I looked out my window there was a white ford with a sparkly license plate pulling into the garage. My mom was home!
What was I supposed to do? Should I tell her what happened and get in trouble for going into the woods? The answer was quite clear to me: don’t tell her. But then I realized she is going to find out sooner or later, so I told her the truth.
She told me she was proud of me, but I could still tell she was a little disappointed in me on the inside. She said we could keep the puppy thought.
And I have the perfect name for him, Duke.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT there were babies crying like wolves. Then out of nowhere the house started to float and the babies stopped crying. Their parents ran in with worry because the babies did such reckless things while they slept that complete silence was bad. So when they ran into the room with their personal bazookas where the babies were being kidnapped (did I mention they were rich?) I too ran out of my room with my mini-bazooka. Then it happened: Me and the babies were swiftly abducted by aliens. I fainted like the cow and all six of the babies.
Then when I woke I was back home and I heard screaming so I tried to get through the door. I heard someone say, “I’ll teach you,” and then I turned around and saw some really weird green thing with purple wings. I realized it was an alien that abducted me and the babies and the cow. Suddenly he showed me a mirror. I screamed in excitement. I had wings!
Someone knocked on the door and he told me we had to go. He took out a green glowing thing and in the blink of an eye, we were on Pluto. There were hundreds of aliens and a personal training facility for me with a bunch of people there. They said I now have powers and they will teach me all about them. They also said it would take time so they took me to a room with a lot of water. I told them I was a terrible swimmer, but they threw me in anyway.
I thought I was going to drown.
But then I thought to try and breathe under water and when I did, a bubble immediately formed and I took a huge gasp. I was alive!
Wait. No. I couldn’t be. I must be hallucinating, I thought to myself.
Then he took me to a different room filled to the brim with lava and I asked for more training. He said no training, we are just testing you to see if you are worthy to be taught all of your powers.
“Wait. This is just testing?” I asked.
“Yup.” He shoved me in the lava and then out of nowhere I immediately started flying through a big gap in the lava pit. He grabbed me and told me that now I can start my training.
The next day I woke up so early, the main hall wasn’t open so I went back to sleep. When I heard the horn for breakfast, I woke up again. I walked to breakfast where they were serving eggs, bacon and toast, which was my favorite. When I finished eating, I was dragged all the way to training.
After five years of training, I finally went back home. I was abducted again except this time I was being abducted by evil aliens who wanted to wipe out all of human civilization. Their plan was working too but all of the aliens from Pluto started popping up with their most powerful weapons. They immediately started attacking them.
The ship stopped. A HUGE alien came out. I was intimidated but I flew up for the attack.
“I want to fight you,” he yelled and then pointed at me.
We were teleported into an arena where I started fighting. After a few hours, I won. I was teleported back home and saw my mom and even thought she looked older, I still recognized her. I ran toward her and hugged her so hard she was almost squeezed to death.
Then I had a happily ever after.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT I was home alone in my fluffy bed with my small, fat corgi, Ken. I was so tired but I couldn’t fall asleep that night. It took a while but I finally did.
That sunny morning, I went outside with Ken to go play. Ken was barking at the sky, but I didn’t see anything. He kept barking and finally I knew what he was barking at. It was the breakfast that was in my hand.
So then we went inside the house where I did my homework for the school day. I heard a ding-dong on the front porch and opened the door. No one was there. It was a little scary and I was home alone. Being ten years old, I thought, I’m too young to die.
After that doorbell ring, I never heard another ding again except for packages on the porch. That was my unexpected ding-dong ring that I got on my front porch.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT a tiny monster was born at midnight in the forest. He crawled into a tall pine tree. The mother was out of sight. It started to rain. The little monster was on a branch under the leaves trying to stay dry, but it didn’t work for long. The rain started pouring harder and he started getting soaked. He started slipping and then he fell, hit his head, and blacked out.
Two days later, the little monster woke up. It was hot and bright when the monster slowly walked up to the tree he once climbed. Then he went up to a flower, sniffed it, and went ahhhchooo. Then he started running around like he ate fifty donuts. He was so hyped up he ran as fast as light. Then he went slower and slower.
Then he stopped and ran under a tree. He found an apple and ate it quickly. Then something happened! He was growing. He felt stronger than he did before. He quickly wanted to test his strength so he flung out his new razor sharp claw and sliced a large pine tree in half. He was surprised he had that much strength.
He was walking around admiring how strong he was when he came across a monster who was just like him. The monster had red eyes and black fur when he had blue eyes and gray fur.
The red-eyed monster said, “Do you want to test your strength against me?”
The other monster said, “Okay.”
So then they fought. They started clawing each other. When Red Eyes stopped scratching he said, “You’re very strong. Want to be friends?”
“Sure,” said Blue Eyes.
The two became friends. They shared food and water until one day they got into a fight over food. Red Eyes left the forest never to be seen again. Blue Eyes felt lonely but
he became way bigger and stronger because he didn’t have to share his food.
When Blue Eyes left the forest to find new friends, he found a huge castle with warrior monsters. Blue Eyes was so happy but the monsters were not. They were looking for a leader to help them fight. They asked Blue Eyes if he could be their leader and he agreed. Then they gave him a crown with a gem in it and the rest of it was pure gold.
The warriors explained who their enemy was. Blue Eyes could not believe who it was. It was Red Eyes! And he was BIG.
There was a loud BOOM. It was Red Eyes shooting fireballs out of his mouth. They all gasped in fear, but not Blue Eyes. He was ready to fight his old friend until Blue Eyes saw Red Eyes’s army.
Blue Eyes led his warriors to war. He brought fifty of his warriors but Red Eyes had two hundred fifty warriors beside himself.
They went to war. Red Eyes charged at Blue Eyes and attacked him through the castle wall. Blue Eyes ran under Red Eyes for he was much smaller and kicked him in the stomach. Red Eyes roared and scratched Blue Eyes with his tail as well as his group of warriors. Everyone got up at once and the warriors went back to battle. Blue Eyes felt something odd and then he shot a huge blast of water at Red Eyes. The water turned to ice just before it hit Red Eyes. Red Eyes was blasted back by the impact but he caught the icicle sphere and threw it back. Red Eyes followed with a big, dangerous heat blast. Blue Eyes made an ice shield but it didn’t work – the heat was too strong and he was blasted.
Blue Eyes went tumbling backwards and crashed into a tree and blacked out. He never thought it would come to this.
Day came around and the sun was high. Blue Eyes was fully recovered but when he looked around many of his warriors had fallen to Red Eyes and his minions. Then the kingdom walls collapsed because it was on fire. Blue Eyes walked around to look for survivors. He found only fourteen of the fifty warriors. He was feeling hopeless, but then it came to him: if he could not make more warriors then he’ll just have to make the best of the warriors he had left. He started feeling positive until he remembered the kingdom.
For months they worked on the kingdom. The only thing left to do was fix the holes in the walls. The material they used for the kingdom was called Larresta. Larresta is stronger from the ground but the kingdom’s scientists found out you could make it. They only needed clay, water, grass, and fire. The army and Blue Eyes made thousands, maybe millions of Larresta, so they had extras. Finally the kingdom was finished.
The sun was down and the moon was up. Everyone was asleep. Seven hours passed and it was now four o’clock in the morning. Blue Eyes woke up and the rest of the army started training right away. He taught them hand to hand combat and he taught them their full potential. They were strong and ready to fight. They were still little but they were now half the size of Red Eyes but two times their normal size.
At nighttime, they heard trembling coming from the trees and bushes. Blue Eyes shot a water blast around the kingdom. It turned to ice and he heard shouts and loud yelps. They were on the them and the rest of the army came out o f the castle walls. They started growing in number. Then three trees flew right by them!
By now they knew they were under attack. During training the army wasn’t the only one who learned. Blue Eyes was no able to summon water more than one hundred miles away. Then he spotted Red Eyes. He too looked like he did some training. They even couldn’t call him Red Eyes anymore because his eyes were just pure fire now with dots in them.
Blue Eyes started to call him Fire Eyes.
Then a huge fire blast came and Blue Eyes saves his team with a water shield. The fire blast had no affect on him or his team. Then Blue Eyes put the shield down and his army rushed after Fire Eyes’s army. The army used the techniques that Blue Eyes had taught them. Blue Eyes was so surprised that he forgot about Red Eyes. Then he came from behind Blue Eyes and kicked him down. Blue Eyes got up at the speed of light but he saw nothing.
Then he heard laughing in a deep scary voice. The looked for where it was coming from but only saw a twig snap by itself. Could Fire Eyes be invisible?
Blue Eyes randomly shot an ice sphere and he heard a yep. Then he saw Fire Eyes from where he shot it from. Fire Eyes fell to the floor then got back up and charged at Blue Eyes. Blue Eyes got dammed into a tree and hurt his leg.
Then Red Eyes said, “This is what it came to. This was bound to happen. You challenged me before and lost! And here we are now. You are just a useless piece of garbage!” Then he shot a huge flamethrower and just before impact one of the warriors jumped in the way.
“No. Impossible!” Fire Eyes yelled.
“Nothing is impossible,” Blue Eyes said and the kicked Fire Eyes and shot him with a giant water blast. Fire Eyes went flying through the sky never to be seen again (they hope).
Fire Eyes felt sorry for the warriors that gave his life to save him but knew he died in battle and was in a better place now. Blue Eyes went back to the kingdom with nothing to worry about.
At least they think…
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT there were many children who were petrified of the dark woods. You could hear the howling of wolves and once you go inside the fog surrounding the woods, you don’t come out. This is not even the most horrific part. There are ten people who have gone missing and everybody thinks there is some kind of ghost that is making everybody disappear. Then there was a long newsletter that went out to everyone that lives in the area. It said, ‘Please close all of your windows and doors and be sure to lock them. There is an enormous amount of people who have gone missing. There are police officers trying to find out why everybody is vanishing.”
By now everything was getting strangely strange. It was nine at night and there was not a person in sight. All of the lights were off in the neighborhood. Then the news said the detectives think they can find the kidnapper but they just need more time.
Two days later, the news now says the police have finally found out that the kidnapper is a ghost and they are not going to bring him back home. He had been taking everyone to his house all along because he wanted them to read all his books.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT on Halloween, there was a huge pumpkin sitting on a porch and it was carved like a scary ghost. While trick-or-treating at night, everyone would run away when they got too close to it.
One little boy was not scared of the pumpkin. He ran quickly to it, picked it up, and then he dropped it, but it did not break. Instead, it quickly started to chase him around the park and into his house. He tried to tell everyone about the scary pumpkin but no one believed him.
That night the pumpkin quietly snuck unto the boy’s room. When his parents went to wake him up in the morning, there were pumpkin seeds in his room, not no boy.
No one ever saw him again…
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT a girl named Sawyer and her mom were watching the news. It said there was going to be a tornado. So her mom grabbed their bags, went to their car, and called her friend. She said, “We’re coming over to your house. There is going to be a tornado.”
So Sawyer and her mom went to their friend’s house and sat in the bathroom. The friend held Sawyer in her arms and her mom held her sister. When it was finally over, they went outside and everything was a mess, but everyone was okay.
Sawyer’s mom started thanking everyone while her sister cried.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT Jake was watching T.V. He got really scared when he heard lightning but his parents were right there. He was safe. He decided to watch television in his mom’s room. Then he had to go to bed, but he was scared. So he told his mom and she told him he could sleep in her room.
In the middle of the night, he woke up and started crying because of the thunder. The windows shuttered and rattled. Jake’s mom woke up and she said, “Why are you crying?”
Jake said, “Because of the thunder.”
After that night, Jake felt fine. He felt better that the thunder wasn’t there any more so he could go outside and play like he wanted to yesterday.

ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT I invited my dear friends, Chloe, Sophie, Maya, and Brooklin, over for a sleepover. We watched scary movies and had a whole lot of fun. We ended up going to bed at midnight.
My younger brother, Scott, wanted to do something funny so he put shaving cream all over my friends’ faces. When they woke up, they were so mad and they haven’t come back since that day.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT at Jurassic Park, a new dinosaur was born. It was a brontosaurus, a ten-ton herbivore known as the coolest dinosaur in the world. Attention rates spiked faster than Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Millions, trillions of dollars made in ten days.
It was an ancestor of the Apatosaurus. Weirdly it grew bigger than fossils showed. The pen was dwarfed by the Titanosaur. The shipment crew accidentally sent Titanosaur DNA.
It’s heading for the Indominous Rex pen.
Whack! Bam! The Idominous Rex is done for.
Bite!
Looks like it’s not done. The Titanosaur is coming down. Well, there’s the Idonimous Rex’s meal.
ONE DARK, STORMY NIGHT I was walking in the woods and it was very cold. I was running because I felt like I was being watched. I was so scared. Then I stopped behind a big tree. Then I felt breathing on the back of my neck. So I started to run as fast as I could. Then I turned around and I saw a light coming right at me.
I ran faster and faster because I knew I was going to get hurt but then tripped on a big, brown log. When I tried to get up, I felt a cold, wet, slimy hand grab me. I looked and it was a ghost that had been scaring a lot of people. It was blue with an orange eye and a hair on its head.
