Cupid's Match

I sense Cal watching me from the doorway, something new, something almost like passion, burning in his silver eyes. The corner of his lip quirks up into a half smile.

“Everything is different now,” he agrees softly.

  Acknowledgments

I want to thank everyone who read Cupid’s Match in its early draft stages. As any writer knows, the world of publishing is incredibly competitive, and when I wrote and posted the first draft of Cupid’s Match on Wattpad, it was purely for fun; I’d all but given up on the idea of ever seeing one of my books on a shelf. The support, kindness, jokes, endless arguments about which couples to ship, marriage proposals to Cal, urges to update quicker, and general feedback from fellow Wattpadders kept me writing, smiling, and helped me to believe again in a dream that had started to fade. I don’t think I would have written this book without you.

I’d like to thank all the wonderful people at Wattpad HQ for seeing the potential in Cupid’s Match—even in its messy early stages. There have been so many people from Wattpad involved in this cupid journey, but the people I’ve worked with most closely on the book have been my talent manager, Monica Pacheco, and Ashleigh Gardner and Deanna McFadden from the publishing team. Thank you for answering all my questions, and for believing in me and the cupids.

I’d like to extend a huge thank you to my editor, Andrea Robinson, who completely got my sense of humor, understood what I was trying to do with Cupid’s Match, and really helped me to take the story to the next level. It was a joy working with you. Thank you also to my copy editor, Rebecca Mills. I’m not a very detail orientated person and there were a lot of strange things (not including the general cupid-y strangeness!) going on within the pages of Cupid’s Match that I would not have picked up on without your help! And thank you to the Cupid’s Match cover designer, Greg Tabor, for his work and vision.

Lastly, thank you to my family and friends. A huge thank you to my partner, Jamie. He has been my rock throughout writing—always happy to chat cupids with me late into the night, make me laugh when I need to be distracted, calm me down when I’m stressed, dance goofily with me in the kitchen when I’m excited, and bring me endless tubs of ice cream! Thank you also to my dad and sister for never doubting that one day I would write something that people would want to read. And thank you to my mom, Debbie, for being my (and Cal’s!) biggest cheerleader. When she found out I was writing on Wattpad, she signed up for an account and read Cupid’s Match as it was being written. I will always appreciate the unwavering support.
