  Acknowledgments

Up until a few days ago, I’d planned on starting these acknowledgments celebrating the end of another series… Because up until a few days ago, this was supposed to be the end of this series. That’s when my betas talked me into doing something I already knew I’d have to do… Continue Nora and Anderson’s story.

When I first outlined their story, the first half was the road trip with the second half being Nora’s struggles to adjust to what life as a royal would be like, as well as Anderson’s continuing struggles with MS. Well, as you all probably know by now, things don’t always go as planned. I didn’t want to rush Nora’s journey on Route 66 with Anderson, because I truly believe it was important for her to take her time and finally make peace with her past. So I made the decision to have that be the focus of this book instead. But as my lovely betas pointed out, their story isn’t over. In fact, this is just the beginning. So there will be one more book in this series — Tangled Games — where we’ll be off to the royal world of Belmont, and I can’t wait to get started.

You know that saying that it takes a village to raise a baby? Well, it takes a village to raise a book baby, too. And none of this would be possible without my village. First and foremost, a big thanks to my husband, Stan, who’s always supported me in my writing. When we drove Route 66 eleven years ago, I never could have imagined I’d eventually use our travels as the basis for a royal romance novel. Hell, I never could have imagined I’d write a single book, let alone twenty-six (I think). His unwavering support to this crazy career of mine has made all of this possible.

To my nannies — Brooke and Lauren. Thank you for loving and taking care of Harper as if she’s your own.

To my fantastic PA — Melissa Crump. You’re a rockstar. Thanks so much for all you do for me so I can spend less time online and more time writing. I couldn’t do this without you.

To my amazing editor — Kim Young. Thank you for all your amazing work on every single one of my book babies. You’re the only person I’d trust with my manuscripts. Thank you for all the care and expertise you show in your work.

To my author BFF — A.D. Justice. I love you. Thanks for always being there for me and always giving your honest advice, even if it’s not what I want to hear. (But I’ve known you long enough to pretty much always know what you’re going to say.)

To Emily and the entire gang at Social Butterfly PR. Thanks so much for all your help with this release. You make publishing infinitely easier.

To GB — Thanks for letting me pick your brain about your MS diagnosis and everything you went through and are still going through, not just physically but psychologically. It really helped me shape Anderson’s character and gave me a grasp of what his mental process was. I can’t thank you enough for all the time you spent answering my questions and assuring me I’d captured those early days after a diagnosis correctly.

To my beta readers — Lin, Stacy, Sylvia, Vicky, and Joelle. Thank you for always dropping whatever you have going on to read my stuff. I sincerely appreciate it. And you win. You’re getting more.

To my admins — Lin, Vicky, Lea, and Joelle. Thanks for keeping an eye on my social media and reader group so I can stay offline and write.

To my review team. Thank you for all your unwavering support over the years and for always fitting my books into your schedule.

To my reader group. Thanks for being such a fun group, allowing me to pop in for a laugh when I need one.

And last but not least, thanks to YOU! Whether this is your first T.K. book or your twenty-sixth, thanks so much for taking a risk on my work. I have so much more planned in the years to come. So stay tuned. This is just the beginning for the Royals of Belmont.

  Love and peace,

  ~ T.K.
