by B. N. Kasner

After a wild night of passion, Gene Dodson thinks he has his mate right where he wants her. However, the next morning he wakes up alone. He knows his mate needs time to come around to the idea of mating. Losing his mom and raising his little sister, taught him to treat a woman right. If his mate needs time, then he'll wait for her. However, when the consequences of their night together come to light, Gene will have to work hard to not only win his mate's heart but keep her safe in the process.

Lani Maybell never expected to find her mate in Redwater, Oregon. Moreover, she hadn't expected him to be a hulking, hunk of a bear with a soft side. When the opportunity to spend the night with Gene arises, she can't resist. However, Lani has old fears and insecurities that she doesn't know how to get rid of. Soon after their night together, she realizes that her decision is going to have a life-altering effect on both her and Gene.

However, Redwater hasn't seen the last of an old foe. Between him and a wolf hell bent on claiming Lani for his own, Gene and Lani will have to work together for the future they've always wanted. Apart, they could lose each other forever.
