  He decided he would drive through the night, and hopefully arrive there by midday.

  It was one of the most relaxing nights Mandy had ever spent. She really enjoyed every moment at the restaurant. She ordered her favorite meal of Caesar Salad and Chicken Alfredo. It was delicious, and she savored every bite. A couple of hours later, she watched the last movie in the epic vampire love story. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful night as she drove the incredible new BMW back to the house.

  There wasn’t anyone around when she came home. Mandy quietly went up the stairs and peeked in on little Jasmine. She was fast asleep in her crib. Therefore, she quietly shut the door and went on into her own room. As always before going to bed, she made sure the baby monitor was on. Then she prepared for bed with a smile on her face. Mandy closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

  Simon was only a few miles from Ashford, Washington. He was very tired from driving all night, but he wouldn’t have been able to sleep anyway. Therefore, he took advantage of the quiet highways and kept right on driving. He was all most to his destination and wondered what in the hell was pulling him to this Pack. His heart was pounding double time, and his wolf was prowling under his skin. Well, it looked like he would find out soon enough, the sign he just passed showed nine miles until Ashford. Simon pulled out the final directions to the Pack house.

  It was some of the most beautiful country he’d driven through. It was the feeling of homecoming that pulled at his soul. In ten minutes, he was pulling up to the huge Pack house. It was one of the biggest he had seen in his one hundred and twenty-six years. Simon had spent most of the last twenty-five years at the Blackwood Pack.

  He had lived within his family's Pack for over a hundred years. It wasn’t until his oldest brother took over the Pack and changed the views on mating a member of the same sex that Simon helped his friends escape before the bigots hurt them again. Tazz and Razz were twins, and two of Simon’s best friends. He might not be gay himself, but he didn’t believe anyone should forbid mates if they were of the same sex.

  Alpha Blackwood had taken them in with no issues at all. In the last twenty-five years, they had made a home and a great business for themselves. They were all in a place of security in their lives, and each one of them wanted nothing more than to find their mates. It was really all they wished for, that one person to fill the empty spot inside.

  Simon was thinking back over his past, and everything that had happened over the last few years. Sawyer and Johnny came out onto the porch to meet up with Simon. He was a lot earlier than they were expecting him. Johnny waved at his friend, getting his attention.

  They watched as Simon got out of the U-Haul and waved back.

  “Simon, is everything okay? You’re here almost a whole day early,” Johnny asked.

  “Hell, I don’t even know what is going on, Johnny! It’s crazy, but I felt something pulling me here. I have no idea what in the hell is going on, but now I am finally here. Hopefully I will either get an answer or at least get some sleep,” Simon told the men with a smile.

  “Well, come on in and we’ll get you something to eat and drink. You have to be starving. If you haven’t stopped to eat already,” Johnny told him.

  “No—I didn’t even take the time to stop. So I am starving, and really, anything would be great.”

  They had just walked through the front door when an irresistible smell hit Simon. Was it possible? The very last thing he thought to find was his own mate on this trip.   When she turned around, she was shocked by the look on the man’s face. He was the most handsome man she had ever seen, but right now, he looked really angry. Wow—she didn’t know what was wrong with him, but he was very unhappy.

  “Lucas, you need to back away from Mandy and Jasmine very slowly,” Johnny told his new Pack mate.

  Lucas backed away from his new friend very slowly. It only took him a moment to take in the situation. The man was so close to changing, and that would be a horrible way for Mandy to find out about them. Just then, Haven and Garrett walked into the room, taking in the situation with a glance. He used his Alpha powers as he laid a hand on the younger man’s shoulder.

  Quickly, he was able to settle the wolf down, and steer him back out the kitchen door. Haven guided the man to his office, quickly shutting the door behind him and his Pack members.

  “Alright—now does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on? Johnny, is this Simon from your former Pack?” Haven asked his new Pack member.

  “Yes—this is Simon. From what I can tell, Simon just met his mate. What upset him was his mate was in the arms of someone else. His wolf almost took over in reaction,” Johnny told them.

  There was suddenly a knock on the door. When Garrett opened the door, Lucas was standing there. Suddenly there was another angry growl from behind him. Haven once again laid his hand on Simon’s shoulder.

  “Alpha, I need to tell you what happened. This is all a misunderstanding, and he needs to know what happened,” Lucas told his Alpha.

  “Lucas, I think you better stop right there at the door for now. Why don’t you explain what the hell is going on to Simon and all of us!” Haven said.

  “Simon, it was not what it looked like. Mandy had just come into the kitchen to feed Jasmine. She tripped on the old rug in the walkway, and I just barely caught her before she fell with Jasmine. I knew if Mandy fell, she would do everything to protect Jasmine and really get hurt herself. All I was doing was holding her up when you guys came into the kitchen,” Lucas told them.

  Simon started breathing a little easier as the story went along. His mate wasn’t already in a relationship. His wolf was still prowling under the surface. He needed to get to his mate.

  “Are Mandy and Jasmine okay?” Garrett asked Lucas in concern.

  “They are both fine. Mandy was more shocked than anything else. I think Simon scared her with the growling thing,” Lucas told them.

  That comment sent Simon into shock, the last thing he wanted was to scare her. He needed to get back to his mate just as soon as possible.

  Haven took in the stiffing of Simon’s shoulders, and it wasn’t until that moment he realized just who Simon’s mate truly was.

  “Wow—Simon, I just assumed Lucas was your mate, but it isn’t Lucas who is your mate—it’s Mandy. We need to sit down for a few minutes and talk before you go anywhere near her,” Haven told the younger man as he stiffened once again.

  “Is something wrong? Is something wrong with my mate? I have already seen the baby, and I will make it my own. I don’t care that she has a baby already, she is my mate,” Simon told the men.

  “Simon, the baby isn’t Mandy’s. She is her caretaker though, and a member of this family even though she is human. The baby belongs to Garrett and me,” Haven told him.

  “She is human? How is my mate human? I didn’t get close enough to her to notice she was human. I have never heard of a human mate. I am not mistaken, my wolf is prowling to go to her even now,” Simon told them.

  “Simon, I don’
t know what to tell you on that account. I do know the Spirits wouldn’t have put Mandy in our lives without a reason. We just voted last night to tell Mandy. Garrett and I were going to tell her tonight. Now that you are here, it is ultimately your decision as well. We know that Mandy has survived a very rough life thus far. She only has one friend besides all of us, which she is very close to. We have not had the chance to meet him,” Haven told him.

  At the mention of another man in Mandy’s life, Simon’s wolf became up in arms once again. It reinforced his need to claim the beautiful woman as his own. The fact that she was around so many other men wasn’t sitting well with his wolf.

  “Simon, you have nothing to worry from any of us around your mate. We are all gay, and from what Mandy has told me about Teddy, he is gay as well. So hopefully that will settle down your wolf,” Lucas told the man. He had noticed the muscles once again tighten in response to Haven’s words earlier.

  “Thank you, Lucas, for protecting my mate, and for telling me these things. I’m not usually the aggressive type, but then again, I have never had a mate before either,” Simon told him in appreciation. Now he just had to decide how to proceed. First, he wanted to look his best for his mate, so a shower was definitely in order.

  Chapter Seventeen

  Slater had been watching the Haven Pack closely. He tried to pop in at least once a week to see if Johnny was in residence.

  Mandy watched the men she had come to care about lead the handsome man out of the kitchen. There was something about the man that pulled at Mandy’s heart. They had come to love Mandy as a sister, and didn’t want her to suffer in any way.

  “Simon, we love Mandy as a sister. All of us men do, and we will do whatever you decide. We don’t want her hurt in anyway. Our daughter loves her as well, and it will be very hard to see her leave us,” Garrett told him.

  “It is something I will talk to Mandy about after we have mated. Honestly, I love the area, and if I could start a construction company here, I really see no reason for her to have to leave her home,” Simon told them.

  “Wow—we just finalized plans to do a lot of future building. You were sent by the Spirits as well, Simon,” Garrett told him with a smile.

  “We will discuss all of that later, Simon. We would definitely welcome you into the Pack. Now though, Mandy is our top priority. Why don’t you take a few minutes to shower, and I’ll have Lucas bring you something to eat to your temporary room. That will give you time to think about how you want to proceed with Mandy. If you want to meet us back in this office in an hour, we’ll make some decisions,” Haven told him.

  “That sounds great. Thank you for the hospitality, Alpha. I will run out to the truck and grab my bag,” Simon told them.

  “Your room is the last one on the right upstairs for now, Simon,” Garrett told him. They both watched him leave the room.

  Garrett came over to Haven. His life had changed so much since meeting this incredible man. Never in a million years would he have thought he would be the strong and capable man he had become since mating to this man. He only hoped Mandy was as happy with Simon as he was with this amazing man. Anything he could do to help them along that path, Garrett was more than willing to do.

  “I love you, Haven. I hope Mandy finds as much love with Simon as I have with you. Then they will be the luckiest people around,” Garrett told his mate with a smile.

  “You are my heart, Garrett. You have made me the happiest of men. I think we are meant to lead these special people to find their true loves as well. We are truly blessed to have so many special people in our life, and if we can help them in any way, I will be happy,” Haven told his mate before kissing him passionately. He took his hand, leading him to their room for a little alone time. The Dragons were pressing against their skin for a little of their kind of dominant loving.
