Michael - Thank you Mike! Have you ever had something that would usually offend, but it is SO over the top that it is ludicrous? I hope that is how people enjoy the cussing.
I’m really familiar w/ Chris Gordon, one of my favorite series (I’ve mentioned elsewhere, at one point John Conroe spoke about how he saw Twilight (or read it?) and decided if that was a vampire book, he could write better!) I just got my kids on The Demon Accords a couple of weeks ago. One read them all, another stopped after book two or three as he felt Gordon was too powerful.
The other (I would guess) is possibly Connie Suttle. I’ve read a bunch of her stuff, but eventually had to stop because it seemed her heroines were always getting beat up and generally were wet noodles, yet had all of this power? Didn’t make sense to me. That and the amount of names - I just couldn’t keep track of them all.
Which reminds me, I need to do something about that for my fans as well. :-(
I do try to keep the names unique… Except Tom Billings and TOM. Heck, I don’t have a ton of Mikes / Michaels or Jeff’s in here. There were two Paul’s, but one died in Turkey.

Great new Author!

Fair warning, there are some editing issues with this book and the next 2. At least there was when I read them. The Author is getting them fixed and so you might have a better copy. For me it can be annoying to have these kind of errors, as they can pull you out of the story. But I love the story and characters so much that I was not bothered by it. Other self published books that had these kind of errors would make we stop reading but I did not feel that way with this series.
I also really like that the author does not repeat a lot of descriptions from book to book like most authors are doing these days. It always seems like authors think we just jump right in at book 4 and skip 1-3. I have never known anyone that does that. I personally think it is the mark of a lazy writer that wants to increase their word count. I end up skipping paragraphs or pages when this happens, I did not feel the need to do that with these books. The really amazing part is how fast he is writing these books. He has produced 5 books in less than 3 months. I sure hope he can keep up the pace :) LOL.

Michael - Thank you Amazon Customer! (You get around, I swear). I think maybe your the first review (that I can recall) that mentioned the lack of previous story ‘reminders’ from book to book. No, wait, there is another - there has to be because otherwise I wouldn’t have added ‘YOU PRETTY MUCH HAVE TO’ otherwise. But, I’m not sure about the lazy writer thought. I read like you do, skipping whole paragraphs and pages, which is why I don’t do it in my books.
Not to mention I’m all about the story, not dredging up something you have probably just read, or read within the last 30 days. It is a personal preference based on my reading style. I’m confident that other fans miss the method and appreciate it. As I mentioned in the author notes, I’ll be doing that as a BIG chapter one in Book 8 (2 books from this one) so new readers can start when we go L.E.O. If they don’t want the story so far.
Episode IV - A New Hope anyone?

Unusual but intriguing

I loved his character strong emphasis on the characters. The only thing keeping it from a 5 was the frequent breaks to Change locations, and while I can't figure out how it could have been done better, I did find it jarring. This looks like a series I will enjoy following ... We'll see.

Michael - Thank you Lisa “M”! How in the world did we get two Lisa’s in these reviews? I understand your comment on the change locations. I’ve tried to mitigate that issue; however, I didn’t come up with a good solution either.
I do that because I’m kind of older now, and my elastic mind doesn’t appreciate filling in the blanks. So, I add it to the beginning when we change major locations to allow me to quickly understand where the action is taking place (as a reader I appreciate it more than it bugs me). I’m open to listening to any suggestions that the fans might have.
An additional issue is that often, these stories are all happening at the same time, so I can’t do two weeks of story and then go back and talk about the same two weeks in another plot line. You get issues when the two overlap (like a phone call) and you receive too many hints about what is coming up - or what has happened.
I hope later stories weren’t as bad for you.

Especially since I had JUST attained ‘words complete’ the day of this review for book six. Talk about nice timing on your part. That worked out for me amazingly well. I really appreciate every review (even the bad ones), but reviews that ask for books when it is available or will be really, really soon? Priceless!

Michael - James! Your the most recent review I have for book one. Thank you for your review and I love that you are personally enjoying the series to hang onto every word.
Truth be told, I’m a closet introvert and the amount of nice things people have said about the books is slightly overwhelming. I rather changed in my teenage years from when I wanted to be a rock singer (read ‘rock god’) and found out I can’t sing for @#%@#. Not only that, but I got up in front of a choir to make sure I showed everyone how bad I could sing. My desire to make a fool out of myself in front of my peers took a hard turn to ‘let’s not do that again … ever.’
I say ‘closet’ because I’ve had to be out there and in front of people for my company. However, I push through the uncomfortableness to get the job done. I’m sure I can overcome my uncomfortableness when receiving glowing reviews in an effort to support you being comfortable when you write your reviews on Amazon! ;-)
Man, that is SOOO much easier to type than say out loud. <— Still shilling like a villain.
